Gareth Cane has serious problems. A Roman goddess wants him dead, for one. A terrifying Greek goddess desires a key he possesses. And his safe-and-sound hideout on Earth? Some bloody vampire has decided to take it for his own. Fortunately, Gareth finds help in the unlikeliest of women.
Undercover officer Ginger Lorris has never believed in the supernatural. But after meeting the mysterious Gareth Cane, whose eyes sometimes shift to a smoldering gold and skin to a blistering white mane, belief is easy to come by. Still, discovering the drug dealer she's hunting is actually an ancient vampire who threatens her family, Gareth's life and all of Earth is a little bit hard to swallow.
To survive, Gareth and Ginger will need the help of a vampire-hunting werewolf, the cooperation of a Greek goddess who has her own agenda, and perhaps even the sacrifice of something neither of them can conceive.
I downloaded The Hunt as a free book from Amazon. While not a bad book, I found some of the segues from scene-to-scene confusing enough I frequently wondered "what the heck happened?" The writer has talent, but I couldn't get into the plot.
Too fast paced and everyone in the book just magically is on board with everything. Not hard to follow and the concept is interesting. Neat idea. Just not for me.
I think I was confused for the entire book. The plot felt very jumpy and the whole book moved way too fast. I think this definitely needed to be longer to tell the story the author was going for.
This book was okay not the worst I have read or the best. The writing seemed rushed and the character development was not good. The book seemed choppy and the story did not flow smoothly. It was a fast read but not that interesting.
I was thinking of some of the traditional shifter books I have read. This is a whole new level for me. I was confused but was determined to figure it out. Great read!
