Thank you to BookSirens and all those who made it possible for me to be an ARC reader for this book! Overall, I felt like this book had great potential, but I found the execution of it to be lacking. This is partially due to the fact that I don’t think I am the target audience of this book as I don’t tend to read many young adult books these days. Initially, I was struggling to get into this book because there was a whole lot of information dumped at once, which makes complete sense given the genre of this book, but it made it a little tricky for me to get into. After figuring all that out, I started to really enjoy the story! I found Part 1 of this book to be fully enjoyable and I couldn’t put it down! However, Part 2 felt very rushed to me and I found there was a lack of clarity at certain points, but once again this could be because I am older than the intended audience for this book. In general, I think this book would be good for a YA audience who is looking for a fantasy book with a strong female heroine! Thank you again to BookSirens and all those who made it possible for me to be an ARC reader for this book!
Thank you Booksirens for providing me this opportunity to review this book. The protagonist , Jessica has the power to travel realms. She evolved and completely absorbed that power when she turned 18. She falls in love with this guy Pete who belongs to the dark energy of the realm. These two powers are polar opposites. This is a sci -fi dystopian world and has a political baseline to it. I loved how the writing was fluid and easy to read. I could visualise every chapter and the writer described it beautifully. Jess's character development was a major factor in this novel. I realised a lot of information was included at once, and it was difficult to comprehend when there were so many characters coming and going. But in the end, I really enjoyed the book, especially, the tragic and forbidden love tale between Jess and Pete.
Mysterious, interesting, looking forward to the next installment. Free ARC copy, honest review
Only gave 4 stars because I wasn't at the edge of my seat unable to put it down BUT I do recommend this book!
I enjoyed the story finding the concept to be mysterious and very interesting. As I moved through the chapters of book 1 & 2 I enjoyed the love story, family ties and an overwhelming need to see where the plot goes next.
Follow Jess as she fights to survive at every sharp turn, starts uncovering who she is and what she is capable of! Her hidden secret unfolds of what she means to those around her and beyond with intrigue and deception and her burning need to right wrongs and be a positive influence in her world.
I really enjoyed getting to read this book, it had that fantasy romance element that I was expecting and enjoyed from this type of book. VK Tritschler was able to weave a strong concept and has the reader engaged from the first page. I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this opening chapter and hope to read more with the characters and their world. I was invested in what was happening to Jess and how the story was used to tell the story.

I really enjoyed the book being spilt into multi parts. I don’t know why but I just really enjoyed books having the different parts to different sections. The prologue being a short flashback didn’t give me very much so I would definitely recommend making it a little longer. The characters were well written though and I could feel as if I was there with them. Overall, a solid 3 stars.
I like stories where the leads learn to grow into themselves and figure out who they are truly meant to be without being so overly drawn out or dramatized. I like that the world V.K. created was really nice and intricate and that the characters are people you wanna get to know. I don't like that I have to wait for the end haha but all in all, it was good!
Cliffhanger ending, makes me want to read the next book. Interesting story, with great world building, and loveable characters. Was some different concepts which I have not come across before. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
