I married my stalker. Right after he stole me from his brother.
Cormac Whelan’s a beautiful and godlike mafia devil who rules the streets of New York City.
And he can’t stand the idea of my arrangement with his brother.
I was warned a thousand times to stay away from that psychopath Cormac.
Except instead of the man I was expecting, my worst nightmare is waiting up at the altar on my wedding day.
Cormac looks like sweet sin in his wedding suit, and I hate how fast my heart beats during our first perfect kiss.
Now I’m trapped by a vicious monster, and it gets worse.
Cormac is deeply obsessed with me and it’s terrifying.
But the attraction I feel toward him is equally dark and twisted.
All I want is to open and run a women’s shelter… and maybe I can use Cormac’s infatuation against him.
He’ll give me whatever I ask for, so long as I submit to his possessive and sinful rules.
I’m playing with a savage, and unless I’m careful, he’s going to break me in ways I may never come back from.
Arranged Obsession is a full-length standalone romance with no cliffhanger, lots of steam, and a crazy stalker mafia king. It includes explicit scenes, violence, gore, and other sensitive subjects.
If readers are into obsessive stalkers, maybe they could give this a shot.
We have Cormac (38), who has been stalking Bianca (26) for the last seven years. He likes to steal her little trinkets here and there. And initially, his existence scared her, but over the years, she eventually accepted his presence in her life. Weird, I know. She never saw his face and only knew how he smelled; apparently, it lingers even after he leaves.
Anyway, in the present, Cormac’s younger brother, Finn, and Bianca were forced into an arranged marriage. He couldn’t let that happen. So there was a switch at the church, and everyone was shocked, but the wedding went on anyway. Mind you, before this wedding, Cormac, his father, and his brother visited Bianca, and right then she figured out he’s her stalker. It frightened her but also gave her the comfort that usually comes when she smells his scent.
There was some pushing away from Bianca because she couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that she’s actually interested in her stalker. She should be mad at him for invading her privacy, but at the same time, she also craves his presence. Hence why she tried so hard to fight the attraction.
Ngl, she was actually annoying in the beginning because she was acting like an entitled brat. She despises her background and everything her family represents. But she’s also aware she’s benefiting from it. So in her own way, she wanted to balance the bad things their organization contributes to the world by opening safe houses for abused women and children. I liked that she wanted a little part in the organization. I just probably didn’t appreciate how ungrateful she is for the opportunity this organization has provided her. It’s not like we can choose our family, but she didn’t have to be mean to her brother and her husband. But thankfully, she realized her privilege and became more understanding and accepting of what and who they really are.
As for the romance, I enjoyed Cormac’s obsession. Tbh, at first, I found it creepy that a 31-year-old man would stalk and steal from a 19-year-old girl. That behavior is just messed up in an entirely different way. But I eventually get past that because at least they’re older now. He’s down bad for Bianca, and he worships the ground she walks on. I wouldn't consider this a medium burn because they did get physical even before the halfway mark.
But yeah, it was very much smooth sailing, imo. Because even though Bianca likes to say she didn't want to care about her husband, her walls are slowly breaking down with his genuine love for her. And eventually she got on the same page with him.
There was a side plot involving some problems related to the mob stuff, but it got dealt with in the end eventually.
Overall, I found it enjoyable for a stalker romance. I loved Cormac and eventually warmed up to Bianca. However, I wish there had been more in the epilogue. I'd love to see them as parents, especially Cormac.
Book info: - Arranged marriage - Age gap (12) - Stalking - Violence - No cheating, OM/OW, separation - No V - HEA (married)
Note: - No Vs. There was no info on their past, which for some reason I actually liked. I feel like without the constant mention of their lifestyle before, I got invested in Cormac’s obsession even more. Making me think that all those years he's been stalking her, she has been it for him, and no one could compare.
Part of the Whelan story... As usual with this author, I could not leave these pages once I began, and loved being back in this world.
Bianca is Adriano Marino’s sister [read his story in Vicious Heir], and as the head of his family in Philly, he begrudgingly has to align with the Whelan organization, in NYC. We all know that strategic marriages are a way to ensure peace in their world, or at least hope to maintain it by uniting families. Uniting the Marino and Whelan families is important not only for their trade routes, but also to fend off the challenges from the Morozov family, run by Ruslan.
Even though this is not what Bianca wishes, her brother’s assurances make the arranged marriage to a stranger slightly more bearable. She has no idea that her life is about to be turned upside down as she comes face to face with her “Ghost”, who cannot and will not allow his brother to marry his obsession.
Cormac serves his family as a merciless weapon, undertaking missions to eliminate their problems. His darkness seeks equilibrium, and that is Bianca, even if she’s unaware of the significance she holds for him. His intensity towards her is a deep, depraved, and unhinged obsession, consuming his thoughts, something that should terrify her (and for a time, it does).
I enjoyed the energy and intensity that these two have individually and together. This has all the danger, drama, bloodshed and dark passions we enjoy from this author, and I recommend this read.
Fortunate to have received an ARC (thank you) my thoughts are my own.
BB is an epic writer in the Mafia Romance genre. However, I found this book really frustrating and the FMC a bit tedious. However, it's was entertaining, and brought in other characters from previous books, which was fun, but I wanted a bit more from the book.
It’s the teen bopper version of a mafia romance. Like “it’s a mafia book because I said they were in the mafia” that’s what it felt like.
The dialogue was just kind of silly. They didn’t act like mafia men. I’m a little confused by the age difference when he first started following her, it seemed inappropriate.
It dragged, not a lot happened , at 80% I just couldn’t read anymore

ARRANGED OBSESSION is the third instalment in BB Hamel’s contemporary, adult MARINO CRIME FAMILY dark, erotic, Mafia romance series, set in the author’s Rossi Crime Family worlds. This is thirty-eight year old, Irish mobster and assassin Cormac Whelan, and Mafia princess Bianca Marino’s story line. ARRANGED OBSESSION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines and series is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers
Told from dual first person perspectives (Cormac and Bianca) ARRANGED OBSESSION follows the ‘arranged’ marriage between our story line couple. In an effort to shore up power, Bianca’s brother Don Adriano Marino has arranged a marriage between his only sister to the youngest son of the Irish mob but when all is said and done, Bianca discovers that man at the altar is not the man she was contracted to marry. Cormac Whelan is known as the Ghost; the Irish Clan’s assassin, and a man who has been stalking our heroine for close to seven years. Refusing to watch the woman he loves marry his younger brother, Cormac becomes groom, guardian and protector of the woman who will become a target in an impending war with the Russian Bratva.
The world building focuses on a series of secrets and lies, Bianca’s need to keep her freedom in the face of threats against her family and life. Cormac Whelan struggles with his wife’s need for her independence but Bianca has a target on her back due to a mistake made by our story line hero, and at every opportunity our heroine, often TSTL, is determined to defy the man with whom she is falling in love.
The relationship between Cormac and Bianca is one of arranged marriage, a brokered marriage for power but a relationship between a man whose obsession goes above and beyond. Bianca is the only things that keeps Cormac human, and in this, his need, preoccupation and infatuation with Bianca threatens his position as the ultimate assassin. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, powerful and determined secondary and supporting character including the return of Don Adriano Marino and his wife Lucy (Cruel Tyrant 1). We are introduced to Cormac’s parents Padraig and Siobhan Whelan, and brothers Finn, Declan, and Seamus. The requisite evil has many faces.
ARRANGED OBSESSION is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and compulsion, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, edgy and dark; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are desperate, determined, and charismatic.
Arranged Obsession by B.B. Hamel is a fast-paced, high-heat standalone romance that expertly weaves together mafia danger, possessive love, and intense emotional stakes. For readers drawn to alpha anti-heroes, forbidden connections, and an obsession that balances on the edge of terrifying and intoxicating, this story is a definite must-read.
At the heart of the novel is Bianca Marino, a strong-willed woman with a noble dream—to open a women’s shelter and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. However, the arranged marriage takes an unexpected and shocking turn on the wedding day when Bianca is forced to marry someone entirely unforeseen. Instead of her intended fiancé, she finds herself standing at the altar with Cormac Whelan—his brother, a godlike and dangerously captivating mafia devil who rules the streets of New York City.
From the very first chapter, the mafia world is vivid and unflinching—gritty, violent, and steeped in ruthless power struggles. Cormac is far more than just a dangerous man; he embodies dominance and control in a brutal underworld. His obsession with Bianca adds a perilous edge to his already fearsome reputation. The dynamic between Cormac and Bianca forms the beating heart of the novel.
What starts as forced proximity quickly evolves into a dangerously addictive push-and-pull of desire, submission, and unexpected emotional vulnerability. Bianca is no helpless captive; she’s sharp, determined, and always strategizing how to turn Cormac’s obsession to her advantage. Yet as their chemistry intensifies, so does the emotional complexity—leaving readers to wonder whether she’s simply surviving or beginning to fall.
For all his savagery, Cormac reveals moments of fierce devotion that match the strength of his threats. He’s possessive, yes—but also unwavering in his twisted loyalty. His love is brutal and demanding, yet undeniably all-consuming.
The romance is dark, provocative, and charged with scorching tension. The intimacy between Cormac and Bianca is raw and passionate, perfectly capturing themes of dominance, surrender, and emotional vulnerability. Their connection is a perfect storm—equal parts terrifying and magnetic.
Set against a backdrop of mafia violence and dangerous alliances, Arranged Obsession delivers a story where passion and peril collide. B.B. Hamel crafts a dark, addictive romance filled with raw emotion, intense chemistry, and a love that defies conventional morality. For those who relish stories where danger amplifies desire and obsession becomes an overwhelming force, this book offers a gripping escape into the darker side of romance.

She’s in the shock of her life when she sees Cormac standing at the altar on her wedding day. What will she do? Will she try to make it work or refuse to marry him?
B.B Hamel made me feel for Bianca. She just wants to achieve her dream and she is willing to do anything to make it a reality. I also felt for Cormac. I love that whatever connection he feels with Bianca makes him feel alive. Furthermore when he is with her, he actually feels emotions like happy and hopeful. Although it might seem scary how completely obsessed he is, the lengths he goes through for her is quite beautiful. Their chemistry is so intense. She knows it’s wrong to want to be with him but that is what makes it so hot. You just feel yourself rooting for them. This story made me laugh and cry. It was filled with humor, action, heat, and a lot of suspense. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I am so excited for the next book. I want to hear more about these brothers.

Bianca Marino lives in Philadelphia with her brother Adriano in the Marino Famiglia’s most guarded and important mansion. Adriano took over as the Don of the Famiglia two years ago. Most people look at Bianca and think she is just a spoiled mafia princess. She volunteers at Grace House, a sanctuary for women and their children. She has had a ghost in her suite for seven years that steals small items from her. This time it is a Chapstick. She always knows when her ghost has been there because he leaves behind a scent that is woodsy, spicy and masculine.
Adriano tells Bianca that she is to marry Finn Whelan, the youngest son of Padraig Whelan and move to New York. She will be the face of the Marino Family as they expand into New York. She is furious but agrees as long as she can start a non-profit for women and children.
Padraig and Siobhan Whelan have four sons. Declan is the oldest and will take over as the head of the family when Padraig dies. Cormac is the Whelan Family ghost. He is the main enforcer especially in difficult situations. Seamus heads the crews that are on the street. Finn is the youngest who is eager and ready to prove himself. Cormac is summoned to a family dinner and his mother entices him by making his favorite meal. His father announces that Finn will be marrying Bianca Marino to solidify an alliance between the two families. Cormac is floored because he has been obsessed with Bianca for many years but no one in the family knows that. Cormac is Bianca’s ghost.
I knew things would get interesting when Cormac gets Finn to agree to let him marry Bianca at the last minute. I was rooting for Cormac and Bianca to end up as a real couple in this marriage. Another exciting story featuring the Marino Family.

His Angel and Her Demon - Cormac’s attraction was fiery and bordering on mania, but when every time Bianca was in danger, his most protective instinct takes over to ensure her safety. Bianca wasn’t pleased about being forced into an arranged marriage, but she felt an inexplicable pull towards her soon to be brother in law, so finding him at the alter instead of his brother sent her heart beating out of sync. Not everyone was happy with Cormac taking the marriage over from his brother, but he did everything to convince them to accept it.
However, convincing Bianca to accept the situation was a lot more difficult, as she suspected Cormac was connected to some events that had been haunted for years, but she had no evidence and also hated that she was attracted to him. However, everything changed after Bianca discovered Cormac’s secret and it caused her to have a panic attack, but she calmed down after he opened up to her about everything, including his reasons. Luckily, Cormac and Bianca’s relationship got back on track towards the fulfilling future they wanted.
OMG! B.B. Hamel just took me on a thrill ride filled with action, anxiety, violence and steamy encounters with a few twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This mesmerising story was explosive from the start, no wonder I couldn't put it down once I started reading. I urge you to clear you day to read this action-packed, messy and hotter than a heatwave romance story and you won’t be disappointed.

currently reading at 33%, but I'm unsure if I will finish. so I'm not exactly sure why I do this to myself but I keep seeing advertisements for this book on social media so I decided to read it.
I know I have read other books by this author but I don't remember them exactly and I don't care enough to go check. this story is pretty boring and the characters don't really have any depth to them. also I'm not sure if it's the author or just this book but it might be both but I find that the characters will say one thing but then have internal dialogue that says something completely different and that's annoying when it happens multiple times. also the story seems very glossed over and they don't really go into depth and draw you into the situation. like we know that the MMC breaks into her brothers place and goes into her rooms and steals things and he's been doing it for 7 years but we also know from text that she doesn't have any known interactions with the MMC and doesn't understand why he was doing it after she found out. but I'm 33% in and they haven't even addressed that scenario even during his povs like where you met her why he's doing it other than him saying that she's a feather and a saint and he likes to go there after he analyze people due to his job with his Mafia lite family or whatever.

Affinity Star read!!!!!! 💫 Loved this book!!!! It is one of my favorites for the year I could not put this book down and I read it in one day. This is a well written action packed story, with family dynamics, friendships, emotions, challenges, danger, secrets, suspense, secrets, alliances, enemies / lovers, engaging characters, revenge, revelations, undeniable chemistry, and love which leads to an entertaining, twisted, and unpredictable, mafia romance. I loved how kind and amazing and giving Bianca was in this book and that she voluteered at an women's shelter called Grace House and she helped take care of other people in this book too. I also loved the friendship between Bianca and Kate who was the director at Grace House. This book had twists and turns. And this was also an spicy read. Some parts of this book I didn't like Bianca's brother Adriano and how he arranged her to get married to someone she didn't know because both families needed to help each other in the Mafia world. But getting into the book I liked her brother and also that he protected her too and I also liked his wife Lucy and their child Alessia and I loved how Bianca was with them. Bianca was supposed to marry Finn but she ended up marrying Cormac Finn's older brother and also Bianca found out Cormac was her stalker and the ghost who comes in her room. Loved the romance between Cormac and Bianca!!! loved how they both had nicknames for each other Cormac's nickname for Bianca was "My Feather" and Bianca's nickname for Cormac was "My Ghost". I loved how overprotective and Jealous Cormac was of Bianca. I liked Cormac's family and I also liked how he was with his brothers in this book. I also loved how strong Bianca was in this book and how she stood up to Cormac. I am so glad they got an happy ending together in this book. I loved this book so much I bought the book. I also recommed this book. And I can't wait to read other books from this author.
I'm into the stalker trope but this wasn't really a useful stalker. He was more just a thief.
Why the big surprise - it felt really silly when she was freaked out to find his shrine to her. She knew he was her stalker and was already having sex with him so why was she surprised he kept it. If anything, I'd be like - oh, I was totally looking for that tube of chapstick - it's my favorite flavor. Thanks for keeping it safe.
And then why does she insist on her own bedroom - I'm fine with it being a plot point but she had zero reason or justification for wanting it.
Why is she a cheapass hobo!!! What is up with all the used second hand furniture and mattress. It's NYC idiot - do you want bed bugs!!! GROSS
And then her only mission in life is to be a social worker. I just didn't get it. That felt like such a weird ploy to get us to like her and thinkg she's a good person but she mostly just came off as an idiot. She has zero training in social work, she's not licensed and doesnt work with the city to coordinate any police and community resources to help people. She's just like - look at me and what a good person I am!
Don't waste your time - this really wasn't a good story.
This is a really great book about an arranged marriage between two members of different crime families: Bianca and Cormac. He is a very dark person, a murderer for his Irish crime clan, but as soon as he sees Bianca, his world lights up, he’s obsessed with her and uses her as a kind of therapy. She does charity work as a way of making up for her Italian Famiglia’s practices. The attraction between them is there from the beginning, and she finds herself increasingly drawn to him. And he will do anything to protect her, resulting in a high body count. In turn she makes him appreciate his family again.
I loved this story of the Ghost and his Feather!
A few of my favourite Cormac quotes (there were so many!): - “We can balance each other. You make me better. I make you so much worse.” - “You make me feel, Bianca. Your goodness. Your lightness. You try to do right even surrounded by everything that’s fucking wrong, and I worship you for it. I’m the darkness. You’re the light.” - I don’t need anything else but her. Never have before, never will again.

Some of the writing in here was awkward, and I had to go back and reread a few sentences to see if I'd missed things. But this was overall an interesting story about an arranged marriage between a mafia leader's sister who's trying to even out the bad her family does by helping at a women's shelter, and the man who had been breaking into her apartment and stealing little things for seven years. Cormac was the son of a crime family leader in New York City. He was pretty emotionally detached, and his love for Bianca was totally over the top as he pretty much worshipped the ground she walked on. I liked Bianca, as she was a genuinely kind person, and I felt awful for some of what she went through in here. I thought she sometimes made pretty reckless decisions, and I admit that I didn't quite feel her love for Cormac until closer to the end. Their relationship was super physical, Cormac was crazily devoted, and Bianca slowly came to love him despite all his flaws. I recommend this to those who like mafia romance with compassionate heroines, and heroes who will do literally anything to get the woman they want.
I don’t know what it is about the twisted ones who are also broken, but it’s like catnip. And so is this book. Cormac has always been different, darker, protective. A little twisted and broken, although in part that’s because he lost his way until he met Bianca, his Feather. His obsession. Hooked on a Ghost with all the tingles of passion! I fell in love with Bianca as she comes to terms with a ghost in her rooms and always a missing item for 7 years and volunteers at a shelter to offset what her family does. Then there is Cormac, aka The Ghost whose job for his family is to make issues go away for good. When Bianca’s brother demands her to marry for the good of the family, she refuses but after her brother’s bribe she accepts. When Cormac joins his family for dinner, he discovers his father has arranged a marriage to his younger brother to his “feather”. The plot is set, the vibes are ramped between Cormac and Bianca as the wedding day arrives and the surprise is epic! When Cormac’s mind is otherwise diverted by thoughts of his feather, he royally screws up a job which has the bratva out for revenge. Add in Bianca breaking in the locked door and discovering a whole world of hurt. How will it all end? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page!
I was deeply impressed by the intensity of Cormac's character and his obsession, which didn't consume him but rather gave him balance. I found his relationship with his family interesting, the role he played in it, and their vision of him. Bianca had made it her mission to be a resource in the life she had been given. There were times when I worried that she was struggling with conflicting emotions and self-doubt, but she turned out to be stronger than I expected. During the reading, I reached the point of putting down the e-reader and taking a break. The darkness surrounding Cormac was palpable, and at one point, I felt like it was going to engulf Bianca. I'm very drawn to conflicting situations and the way the characters deal with them, and Bianca had her hands full with Cormac. The story gripped me from the beginning and kept me eagerly awaiting the author's next trick, as her ingenuity never fails to deliver satisfying endings. I found this story very exciting, with plenty of action, suspense, violence, and passion.
Imagine things go missing in your room and there is no explanation for it. You have had camera put in and extra guards and yet still things go missing. Would make you a bit paranoid. You think there must be a ghost or something. This is what was happening to Bianca. Her brother had no explanation. She had a very sheltered life. Her volunteering at a women's shelter was her way of giving back a bit for what her family did. Then her family asks more of her. Her brother has arranged a marriage with the Whelan family. This will be a good alliance for the familigia. She is so taken aback she doesn't know what to do. Then on her wedding, there is a different brother up at the altar. Cormac Whelan is the family ghost. He is the enforcer/assassin and people know to stay out of his way. There is something about him though that makes him familiar to her and she knows he will never hurt her. This is the beginning of a really good mafia romance that you will want to read.
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
Bianca Marino, dedicated to helping others, is forced into an arranged marriage to benefit her family and the Whelan family in NYC. She feels no connection to her intended, Finn, but is drawn to his brother, Cormac, unaware he’s the mysterious “ghost” who’s been taking small items from her room for years, leaving his scent behind. At the wedding, Cormac unexpectedly takes Finn’s place as the groom, angering Bianca and her brother. Though reluctant, Bianca agrees to the marriage, and their relationship becomes a battle over space, activities, and safety. When a car bomb meant for Bianca destroys her new shelter, Cormac suspects Russian involvement. As threats persist, Bianca and Cormac grow closer, and she discovers his shrine of her mementos, stirring her emotions. A clever negotiation resolves the conflicts, benefiting all parties, and their marriage finds a happy ending. B.B. Hamel delivers a gripping plot with strong, complementary characters.1.4s.

Arranged Obsession is another great story from this talented author. I could not put it down. It is filled with suspense and secrets.
Bianca's brother wants more power so he arranges that she be married to the youngest son of a family. When she shows up at the wedding the man is not who she thought it would be. Instead it is his older brother Cormac. Cormac is an assassin for his family and he very dangerous. He has been secretly stalking Bianca and cannot stand by and let his brother marry her.
I loved how focused Cormac was on Bianca. He was so obsessed with her. All she wanted was to run a women's shelter and he fully supported her. Cormac was a very unique character who found his only comfort with Bianca. She was so good for him. Their story was very enjoyable. Highly recommended. I look forward to more from this talented author.

Wow! I really missed these kinds of BB books—I couldn’t put this one down. Talk about a wild ride!
Cormac, known to his family as the Ghostman, has been obsessed with Bianca for seven years. He’s been sneaking into her place and taking little trinkets each time he visits. He even has a room at his house filled to the brim with all the trinkets he’s ever taken from her—his own personal shrine to Bianca.

Bianca’s brother needs an alliance with the Whelans, so she’s arranged to marry Finn, Cormac’s younger brother. Cormac finally makes his presence known. Bianca has no idea how her life is about to change when she meets her “Ghost”—a man who will stop at nothing to prevent his brother from marrying the woman he loves.

Bianca is about to meet her kleptomaniac, psycho “ghost” husband—and she’s about to learn just how much she means to him.
For years Bianca had a stalker, a ghost who would come into her space and take something of hers, but never left a trace or sighting, that is until her brother arranges for her to be married to Finn the youngest Whelan son. Cormac is a man with a psychos reputation and when he learns of his brothers engagment to his saint Bianca he finally comes out of the shadows to claim her as his own. All Bianca wanted was to run a womens shelter, knowing her familys buisness holds blame for why so many people ended up at the one she volunteered at, it became her purpose to do good, but now shes married to a man obsessed with her, could she use his obsession to get a shelter of her own, but at what cost to herself? Well written engaging, steamy desires dark themes, obsession beyond limit, worship, action and more.

This is an arranged mafia marriage with a twist. Cormac has been stalking Bianca for years. But no one knows about that except his mother. When his father arranges his younger brother to marry her he can hardly stand it. So he convinces him to switch places at the altar. Needless to say no one is happy about that. But his mother steps in and supports him. Bianca is not happy about the marriage at all. She has no spark with Finn. But gets a tingle whenever she sees Cormac. When the dust settles and Bianca is faced with a like tied to this strange man things get interesting. The local Bratva tries to kill her several times. Can Bianca survive this marriage? Can Cormac convince her she is safest with him? Will this end up as a love match? Well…..there is a Happily Ever After. But it is so fun to read about all their troubles along the way. This is a steamy, obsessed, dangerous tale. I can hardly wait to see who falls next.
