About the author

Salvatore Castiglia is a management consultant and Manager at Deloitte Central Europe, based in Bratislava. He has over 10 years of experience advising banking and financial-services clients on strategy, operating models, digital transformation, and M&A. He has delivered several large, cross-border programs across Europe and Asia, working with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders to translate analysis into measurable results. Salvatore began his career in Hong Kong and Shanghai in e-commerce and consulting, then served as an IT Business Analyst at Société Générale before roles at Deloitte and IBM; he rejoined Deloitte in 2019. He holds an MSc in Global Operations Management from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)—awarded a merit-based academic scholarship for excellent performance—and a BSc in Business Administration and Management from Bocconi University; he also completed a semester at Korea University Business School (KUBS) in Seoul. He is a Certified Management Accountant (IMA, USA). Salvatore has contributed to Deloitte studies and publications on finance and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In October 2024, he published his first book, How to Start Your Journey in Consulting, to help students and young consultants navigate the realities of the profession.
