An uplifting family saga about creativity, sisterhood, and second chances.
Meg Walsh never meant to stay in Laguna Beach forever. But the Beach Shack—the quirky café her grandfather built—has a way of keeping people close. Now that summer is in full swing, she’s finally finding her place… until a wave of homecomings changes everything.
Her sister Anna returns from Florence with her daughter Bea in tow, bringing fresh ideas and her usual flair. Suddenly, Meg isn’t the only one dreaming about what the Shack could become—and agreeing on the future proves harder than she imagined.
Meanwhile, Joey seizes a chance to showcase his talents at the summer festivals, drawing the whole family into the swirl of Laguna’s art scene. Luke keeps showing up with quiet strength and a steady smile, making it even harder for Meg to pretend she’s not getting attached. And with old family secrets still whispering beneath the surface, the Walsh siblings must decide if they’re ready to stop fixing everything—and start building something new together.
Set against the vibrant festivals, cliffs, and coves of Laguna Beach, The Beach Shack Artists is a heartwarming story of family, forgiveness, and the beauty of creating a life—together.

4-1/2 Stars. Margo has a tough decision to make in this story; however, she approaches it with her usual calm manner. Teens, Stella and Bea both impress me, although the way Bea thinks is hard to understand sometimes. Anna nearly drove me crazy with her manic thoughts and energy. All in all, a great family relationships novel. My least favorite, so far, though.
What a fun book! The dynamics of family is front and center; the younger generation watching the older parents and aunts confront each other; and Margo standing by trying to decide if anyone can operate the Beach Shack coffee and grilled cheese delights as well as she can. There's the organizer and problem solver, Meg; the artist that sees everything with a different view, Anna; and the camera operator, Tyler, all looking at their future with a different lens. There are really funny scenes that remind us of families we live with along with the reminders that at eighty years old, Margo needs to find someone to run the Beach Shack in the future. Art and artists take over and made me laugh, along with the younger Stella who can see everything with an open mind and work circles around all of them. Loved the storyline and thank the author for a read that made me smile.
A young lady joins the family for the summer, and she becomes the key to all of the numerous changes in many many ways. Psychological self-awareness accepting tough aspects of your own character. And the loving grandmother, the owner of the shack sits back creates a situation where she is able to Decide who really wants to own the shack. I just wanna sit inside in the morning and watch them all fix the main coffee maker’s explosion. The ending surprised me a bit, but it was logical and loving what a wonderful story.
Loved reading this story about success as a family and the intricate mysteries as life evolves. The Beach Shack is a base for different ways of lives and achievements between different family members and friends. Cindy has put together a friendly story you can not put down. Can not wait for the next steps!!
