Li-Li is on the road again! This time, it's just her and Mama heading to Tullahoma, TN, to visit Mema and Pops. Li-Li loves to read, but when Mema invites her to watch her favorite show, Wheel of MY Fortune, she gives it a try. At first, it's fun—until a sudden, unexpected loud noise ERRNT! It’s the scariest sound Li-Li has ever heard! But why doesn’t it bother Mema?
Now, Li-Li faces a Can she find the right words to explain why she dislikes Wheel of MY Fortune and that awful ERRNT noise? And can she do it without having a Li-Li Letdown?
Such a thoughtful and relatable story for kids with sound sensitivities. My daughter (age 7) has auditory defensiveness, and she connected right away with Li-Li’s experiences — from vacuums and mowers to unexpected beeps and music. It’s comforting for her to see those challenges reflected in a gentle, child-friendly way.
Wow! It's a great book on the senses of hearing. I think the bookbkind of surpred me, si I am glad I read this book. It's a great information book that teaches kids the are hearing impaired. Need more like this in school classrooms. Good illustrations as qell.
ERRNT isn’t just another picture book—it’s an important bridge between understanding and action. By showing Li-Li’s struggles in a relatable way, it helps kids with similar challenges feel seen and helps adults respond with empathy. This is the kind of story that changes the way we listen.
This book is praised as heartfelt, accessible, and empowering for children and parents alike, fostering empathy and a deeper understanding of sensory and communication differences within families and schools. Highly recommend it.
Such a cute story told from a child’s point of view. It’s relatable for me as as a mother of an autistic child. I’ve experienced the sensory issues and Li Li showed the sensory challenges many kids face. Loved it!
