This is a sympathetic but not overly eulogistic study of the much-beloved Chucky Jack,"Scourge of the Cherokees". He was a settler, speculator, adventurer, trader, Indian fighter, and lawmaker. He moved into the West with the frontier and participated in the various activities of the border. His whole life was connected with the development of the West and he died in its service.
