Prince Charmless

Rate this book
She never wants to see the prince again, but he won’t take no for an answer.

Prince Taylor is sick of living a life of pointless ceremony. Finally, he has the means to do something useful for his country and start his non-profit. But when his sharp tongue offends the woman helping him with logistics, Melina quits right before its launch. Furious, his charity’s cofounder, and Melina’s friend, refuses to hire anyone else. Taylor will do anything to start his non-profit off on the right foot, even if he has to grovel. Melina is both frustratingly stubborn and unbearably gorgeous. And though he’s never begged before in his life, Taylor finds himself enjoying the challenge.

Melina Ramirez hates the Prince of St. Claire. She’s leaving her work unfinished, mainly to teach the royal pain he can’t just insult her and not expect consequences. Though it’s hard to stand firm after she learns the real reason why he’s founding his charity. Between his wooing and elaborate home-cooked dinners, she can’t tell if Taylor is groveling or flirting. And Melina can’t tell if she cares.

When a paparazzo catches them alone, false rumors spread like wildfire. Even if they had feelings for each other, the St. Claire media circus would surely prove that modern royal romances are far from perfect fairy tales.

Prince Charmless is a dual-POV romantic comedy with medium spice.

Title: Prince Charmless by Sarah Gracelle

ARC gifted by: @author.sarah.gracelle

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sarah Gracelle’s Prince Charmless is a lighthearted and engaging royal romance that blends humor, heart, and just the right amount of tension. The story feels complete and satisfying, making it a perfect choice for anyone in the mood for something fun and uplifting. ✨

At the heart of the book is Taylor, the effortlessly charming prince who has perfected the art of making people swoon. Opposite him is Melina, a woman who sees through his polished exterior and refuses to be impressed by his title or reputation. Their relationship begins with spirited clashes and playful arguments, but it quickly becomes clear that beneath their bickering lies a growing attraction neither can ignore. 💕

The banter between them is sharp, witty, and entertaining, and it creates a chemistry that practically leaps off the page. 💘

What makes this romance stand out for me is the balance between fairy-tale fantasy and real emotional struggles. Taylor’s protective instincts and deep sense of responsibility add layers to his character, while Melina’s insecurities about whether she’s truly “princess material” give her a relatable vulnerability. Their dynamic highlights both the challenges and joys of stepping into the spotlight, and readers will find themselves rooting for Melina as she learns to trust her feelings and take a chance on love.

Gracelle’s writing style is breezy and approachable, making the story easy to sink into. The pacing keeps the plot moving without ever feeling rushed, and the humor sprinkled throughout balances the heartfelt moments beautifully. While the story is sweet and relatively low on drama, it still carries enough emotional weight to leave a lasting impression.

Prince Charmless is a gem worth adding to your TBR. It’s funny, tender, and charming in all the right ways—a feel-good escape for romance readers who love a touch of royalty.

Thank you Sarah Gracelle and Booksprout for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I truly admire authors who write romantic comedies. It has to be one of the toughest genres. How can you ever be sure it’s actually funny? Well, Sarah Gracelle pulled it off beautifully in Prince Charmless. The humor is present in every chapter, and it never feels forced. It’s witty, sometimes even subtle, and more than once I found myself chuckling alone.

Personally, I wouldn’t call this book a full “Enemies to Lovers.” It’s more like “Annoyed to Lovers.”

Taylor, our prince, is infuriating — not in a cruel way, but in a comical, oddly tender way. That makes plenty of room for character development, and the author really leaned into that. His dry humor and sarcasm give him such a unique charm. Also, I love characters who fall in love first but live in denial for a while! Always fun to read.

Then there’s Melina. She might not be the most complex character, but she’s incredibly easy to connect with. Her strong, well-defined personality makes her feel like someone you’d actually want as a friend.

What really stood out to me, though, was how Taylor and Melina’s love story unfolds. It’s built from the small things: details you notice chapter by chapter as their relationship quietly deepens. That gradual progression made their romance feel authentic and satisfying.
"Honestly, to exist is to learn and be embarrassed, right? So if you can get over that, you can get over anything."

Overall, Prince Charmless was such an enjoyable read. I definitely recommend it, and now I can’t help but wonder… will Tom get his own story?.

ARC Review - Releasing 6th September 2025

If you’re a fan of romantic comedy with a side of Royal Family then this book is for you! Set in the fictional St. Claire, Prince Charmless follows the story of Prince Taylor, the future King, and Melina Ramirez, the woman who’s set to create his new non-profit’s website.

I really liked the dynamic between the two main characters in the book and the banter that flowed between them and how we got to see their relationship develop through the highs and lows that would come from being seen with a public figure of that calibre. I also really like the dual POV aspect of the book and how in depth Gracelle writes about each characters thoughts and feelings, you really feel like you are there in the minds of both Taylor and Melina.

Overall this was a great read and I hope that in future there will be a book about Tom, the Prince’s seemingly carefree younger brother!

Many thanks to Sarah Gracelle for allowing me a copy of this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Sarah Gracelle for the gifted eARC in exchange this is my honest review.

Prince Charmless was frankly charming. I loved this cute romance.

Gracelle creates the setting of St. Claire as small island between the UK and France. Prince Taylor, second in line for the throne after his father the Crown Prince, is tired of the life. However setting up his non-profit feels like his title actually means something. Unfortunately his stoic ways and harsh words offends Melina, the web site developer causing her to quit. Melina determined to hate Taylor and determined to not work with him. Learning the reason for the non profit, a well cooked chicken piccata, and a photo of them dancing as bridesmaid and groomsman at their mutual friends’ wedding forces him in her proximity, she can’t help but fall.

I loved this read it was so fun! Taylor was so fun and I loved watching his grumpy demeanor soften for Melina. Melina was so straightforward and delightful. It was great watching them fall for each other and their growth. The spice was also great! Perfect amount and loved it. And Taylor cooking for Melina? Loved it. He was so sweet.

Overall 5/5 stars! Such a fun read. Prince Charmless is out now!

He might be a prince, but he’s far from charming. 💅

Genre: Royal romance

Prince Taylor, second in line to the throne, is tired of the royal spotlight. Starting his nonprofit finally gives his title purpose—but his blunt words and cold attitude quickly offend Melina, the web developer he hired, causing her to quit. After a photo of them dancing together as bridesmaid and groomsman at a mutual friend’s wedding sparks rumors, Melina learns the true reason behind his nonprofit and agrees to help again, despite their rocky start.

This book is such a cute read! I love the contrast between Taylor and Melina—his stoic, Darcy-like grumpiness versus her warm, fiery personality. Their banter is easily 5/5; sharp, witty, and full of tension. Watching them fall for each other was such a delight. Even when they annoyed each other, you could feel how much they cared underneath it all.

Taylor frustrated me (in the best way), but I still fell for him right alongside Melina. And I adored the side characters, Tom and Mateo—they were charming and brought humor and lightness to the story.

Thank you Sarah Gracelle and NetGalley for this ARC.

📚 ARC Review 📚

⭐️⭐️⭐️

The quick & dirty description: Prince Taylor & Melina Ramirez meet through mutual friends and their distaste for each other is immediate.
However, they become unlikely friends as Prince Taylor works to win her over so that she will come back to work for him.

Bring in the chicken piccata.

Although the prince is completely charmless 😉, Lina finds herself growing more attracted to him.

Our two main characters work through friendship, then more, her privacy, his lack thereof, and whether or not they could really have a future.

My Thoughts:
The banter in this is out of control. I was giggling like a school girl before I even got through the first 50 pages!!! This was such a fun read!! I honestly don’t have any notes. I loved Lina’s down to earth vibe and lord help me, I loved Taylor’s cocky side. No pun intended!!

This was a fun, light hearted rom-com, and I loved every minute of it.

This book releases tomorrow!! September 6th!! I implore you to get your hands on a copy!!

@author.sarah.gracelle thank you so much for the ARC I truly had a wonderful time reading this! I hope to check out more work from you!

Thank you to Sarah Gracelle for the ARC.

Full Review:

Taylor is 2nd in line to the throne of his country. He meets Melina at his best friend’s wedding (she is designing the website for Taylor's new charity with said best friend) and there is definitely an attraction between them, but Taylor finds it hard to trust people’s intentions. They both fight their attraction to each other. Taylor knows first hand how intrusive the press can be, and Melina sees her working class background as a impediment to a long term relationship with Taylor. The book is pretty spot on about how awful the press and social media can be to people in the public eye.

I loved the Dual POVs because it helps the reader understand the motives and hesitation on both their parts. They have great chemistry and banter throughout the book. They know how to push each other’s buttons, but also slowly begin to open up to each other. Taylor comes across as standoffish and snarky, but as the book goes on you begin to understand why that is.

A must read for anyone who loves a good romcom with a royal twist.

Prince Charmless by Sarah Gracelle is a short, sweet romance that follows Taylor, the charming prince of St. Claire, and Melina, the woman who challenges him at every turn. Their witty banter and constant bickering create a sizzling connection that’s impossible to ignore. While Taylor is determined to protect Melina from the public eye, she struggles to believe she’s “princess material.” Funny, heartfelt, and easy to read. This is a royal romance worth picking up. 👑✨.

I really liked the banter and dynamic of Prince Taylor and Melina. They know exactly what to do or say to irritate each other and that was fun to read. The Dual POV was really well written, I feel like we really got to understand them both really well. Overall I enjoyed this book.

When I tell you Prince Taylor stresses me out but in a good way. You can tell the man wants Melina so bad in the first chapters.

This book made me giggle so much which is rare for me and I really did enjoy reading the book at 12 am and then finishing it around 3 am.

The twist about the prince made me gasp, hello that was unexpected for me. Anyways this is such a good read! I highly recommend this!
