Crown prince Marshaal Goldenleaf, having just declared for the fabled dragonriders at his Centennial, finds himself in the aftermath of a bombing that has thrown the Crown into chaos. He begins the work to discover the source of the attack, as the elven kingdom of Irynvandaliir sits on the precipice of war—questioning ally and enemy alike.
In other parts of the Great Realm, forces have gathered to combat the deities banished from the heavens, with some faithful turning militant against leaders of the cities and nations. Battles erupt, wreaking havoc and death on the locals, while dragonriders and soldiers work to dispatch the threats, even calling into service a rare mage thought to have been extinct ages ago, signaling a turn in the tide against the divine.
Through it all, the First Wing Gennidyr Thijjoria, commander of Irynvandaliir’s air forces, must rally his fellow commanders and riders to form a response, revealing not only who is behind the act of terrorism on the kingdom’s soil, but uncovering a sinister plot orchestrated from within by an unlikely cabal who has set in motion a chain of events that will change the kingdom’s destiny and the ensuing war.
