Not all villains are evil. When Suna Choi reincarnates as Edith Rigelhof, the villain from her favorite novel, she is determined to change Edith’s life around and treats everyone with kindness. Although she marries the handsome Killian Rudwick, he is madly in love with the original protagonist of the book and mistrusts Edith because she is from a rival family. Will her marriage survive the whirlwind of family feuds, love triangles, and more? Will Edith find her happy ending?
I have read 800 copy pastes of this same type of story and it hits every time she's a reincarnated villainess and he's a duke tale as old as time 5 stars because I had fun
This was a fun one! I loved the whole author system it set up. It made for an intriguing go of an isekai-type story. Watching Edith try to solve the mystery while also survive the life she’d been thrust into was fun to read. Overall it’s one of my favorite reincarnation manhwas I’ve read so far!
SEGUNDA TEMPORADA (11 SEP 2025 - 13 SEP 2025)
From the very first tea party, I knew Rhyse was trouble. Sly, cunning, and radiating bad vibes—don’t even try to convince me otherwise! 😤 Seriously, the author must have some personal vendetta against Edith because they’re throwing her into chaos left and right. And the funniest part? It feels like they’re battling their own characters. Like, “Hey, Killian, do this!” and he’s all, “Nope, not today.” 😂 It’s chaotic brilliance, and I’m here for it.
Now, let’s talk about Edith’s trash family. Can we fast-forward to their well-deserved torturous demise? Because, honestly, they and Sofia need to get wrecked ASAP. 👏 Justice for Edith, please!
I’m diving into Season 2 immediately because the suspense is unreal, and I need answers.
When I saw the title, my first thought was, "Pfft, wanna bet?". But I was actually pleasantly surprised by the first season of "Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story"!
The art is really pretty and the pace is quick enough too keep you engaged without feeling like anything is being glossed over. I particularly enjoyed the progression of Killian and Edith's relationship from antagonistic to (Enemies-to-Lovers Lite™), and its alongside exploration of "predeterminism" vs "free will". Most refreshing, however, is that Suna (as Edith) isn't your typical vengeful "villainess" or bubbly and oblivious female lead, but rather someone who's strength is in her kindness without being shoved in your face.
Thought it’d be cliched but I ended up liking the FL more than I thought. She has a reason for her actions and even if she typically does the whole “tried to be a good character to not be a villainess”, the story still forces the narrative and she has to figure out how to get out of it. She feels realistic and she also lusts after and sleeps with the ML with the logic of “I’m here, he’s hot, let’s do it” which is refreshingly bold for a Korean FL.
Only thing I hate about these transmigration novels is when they reveal who they actually are to the ML. It always reads as forced and breaks the narrative.
I read this story about a month or so ago, and it absolutely captured my heart. It is available to read on webtoon. Although reincarnation stories are very common, the way this story is portrayed gives such warmth and causes you to care for every character. The main character is portrayed as an extremely kind individual, but not in a way that makes her weak. Instead, that is her strength, which makes her able to withstand so many difficult situations. I will never get tired of reading it and re-experiencing the growth of each character, especially the love interest.
Már nagyon sok hasonló történetet olvastam de sose tudom megunni. Ebben sokkal jobban kedveltem a szereplőket mint gondoltam volna. Alig várom a folytatást és természetesen reménykedem a happy end-be.
I've read a lot of similar stories, but I can never get tired of them. I liked the characters in this much more than I thought I would. I can't wait for the sequel and of course hope for a happy ending.
Chef’s kiss. One of the best villainess/reincarnation manhwas/webtoons. Strong female lead and swoon worthy male lead. Highly recommend and super addictive read.
I read this online so maybe I'm not rating the correct edition? I'd give it like a 3.5 but I'm rounding up to 4 because my daughter thinks it's the best thing ever written. I don't generally speaking get into manga too much - I don't "get" what the chibis are for and the short sentences and constant scrolling of reading this on webtoons feels like the doomscrolling version of literature. But the art is undeniably gorgeous and talented. The story was engaging (I basically binged it) if confusing at times (I spent a lot of time discussing with G what was going on in various parts and she was like "oh, this is a typical thing they do in this genre. Don't think too much about it.). I want my literature to be more self contained - I shouldn't have to read a lot of manga to understand how it works (imo). One funny thing was that I absolutely couldn't tell the main male characters apart until G told me they had different eye color (why was that the only different thing?!) and I basically never notice eye color on anyone. So I had to be very careful to look at the eyes to figure out what was going on with those men.
G was disappointed that I didn't love it like she did but I guess that's why there's lots of types of writing in this world.
One reviewer mentioned that this story isn’t very uncommon, and I can see why. Even though this is only my second manhwa, I’ve read and watched plenty of romance books, movies, and web series with the same enemies-to-lovers premise. Still, I absolutely loved this one.
The story had several twists, ones I can’t reveal here, that genuinely caught me off guard. I adored Edith; she’s sweet, caring, generous, and truly has a big heart. I also really liked Killian.
Overall, while the premise follows the familiar enemies-to-lovers trope, the unexpected twists set this story apart from others. I also love, love, loved the spin-off episodes at the end; they made me fall even more in love with the story and its world. If you enjoy romantic enemies-to-lovers manhwa, this one is definitely worth a try.
I’ve taken a big turn into reading Korean Manhwa’s, and most aren’t featured on goodreads, however this … my favourite manhwa of all time is! This is the historical fantasy romance story that hits all the right buttons, with none of the typical “miscommunication” tropes. The MC is smart and thoughtful, the male lead is cold, brooding, handsome but also reasonable and honorable and the art is just spectacularly beautiful. There are many cliches, but the whole package is just so wonderful it doesn’t even matter. I will say the “epilogue” part was a bit derivative and not nuanced or elaborate enough where it should have, but the main story was excellent.
This one was surprisingly hilarious. I didn't expect much from this manhwa because I am not a huge fan of isekais, especially those where the villainess is the main character, bonus negative point if word "villainess/villain" is present in the name
Main character is smart, and I loved it about her. As usual, I am dying when they use European names (the most atrocious, obviously like Edith Rigenhof or whatever it is) and spell them in Hangul
Anyway, had fun times reading it, I am sure I will forget the whole plot in no time, but what is important is that this manhwa is finally finished
The main character, who is feeling crushed in her lonely life, finds herself abruptly reincarnated in the uber-sexy body of red-headed Edith, the villainess in the protagonist's favorite novel, "My stepbrothers are obsessed with me." Edith is the ill-treated weapon of her powerful family, trying to infiltrate another powerful family through marriage and take them down. Edith is being joined in marriage to the furious Killian, who, like his brother Cliff, is in love with the sylphlike orphan Rhyse. The protagonist, knowing the story, makes significant changes in Edith's character, from wearing modest (but still jaw-droppingly gorgeous, like so many Manwha heroines) clothes, to not scheming or really doing anything that, in the book, made Edith a villainess. And slowly, things begin to change.
This was recommended by a 6th(!) grader, but I would say YA because there's kind of a lot of fanservice and violence and intimate situations. It's compulsively readable, and gorgeous to look at, though the plot...gets rather confusingly complex, especially when they get more into the mechanisms behind how the main character ended up in the book in the first place. Lots of fun to read, though.
Your writing feels like it was meant to be drawn. The flow, the framing, the way you capture emotion, it’s the kind of storytelling that breathes in pictures. I'm a commissioned artist and work on comic and webtoon adaptations. Your story had that instant spark of imagery that is meant for a visual adaptation. I'd love to connect through Instagram (@eve_verse_) or Discord (bennett_lol) if you’d like to explore that.
I read all of this on Webtoon and let me tell you it definitely is not you typical reincarnation story (ha ha). It has such a cool plot with 4th wall breaks and character development for daysss. Really recommend giving it a read!
(Ch. Epilogue) I have things to say about how it was a little boring for me and stereotypical (I have tasted these kinds of stories after all), but it was indeed not your typical reincarnation story.
