Our characters experienced so much trauma, both mentally and physically. The road to healing for each of them was tough but as heartbreaking as it was, their healing journeys were also beautiful.
“𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖 𝙛*𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚.”
While these characters were healing and trying to overcome their shared traumas, they were also falling in love. The slow evolution of each relationship was so well crafted. I loved getting to experience those moments with individual couples as well as with all of them present. The revelations and declarations in this book were tear jerkers every single time.
𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨…
Creed St. James was still the tattooed alpha we knew and loved but more than that, he made sure his people felt loved and cherished every single day. His willingness to be so loud about his love was his best attribute, in my opinion.
“𝘼𝙨 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙨 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙩𝙤𝙤, 𝙎𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝘽𝙤𝙮.”
Collins was an absolute force. She remained so strong and kept wearing her heart on her sleeve even after unimaginable things happened to her. Her ability to push through mental and physical pain was truly incredible.
“𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙖 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙍𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙮 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙖 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡.”
If you asked me who I thought my favorite character in this duet would be… I would have said Riley from the moment he appeared. Something about a quiet, soft man who’s also kind of a badass… Perfection. He was such a unique and relatable character, too.
Also - I refuse to believe he had any flaws and I will take no criticisms. 🙂
“𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙄’𝙢 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚… 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨. 𝙉𝙤𝙬, 𝙣𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩, 𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙚. 𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨.”
The supporting characters in this book were phenomenal, too. Everyone had such an integral part in helping these three heal from their trauma and making them feel like they could thrive again.
𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨…
After the cliffhanger that was Creed, I didn’t know if I would be ready for Graves and what fate it might bring for a certain drummer. And truthfully, when characters are as wonderful as these, it’s hard to imagine the end of their story at all.
I cried a lot of tears reading this book… both sad tears and happy tears. In a way, it felt like I was healing and falling in love right alongside these characters. I certainly wasn’t prepared for the end or saying goodbye to them but I have a feeling this duet is going to be one that lives permanently on my list of favorites.
