I fear I wanted to like this book more than I did and also my expectations were a bit misplaced 😔
It started off quite strong, tho early on I knew it’s more of a “just a fun romcom”. I started to struggle a lot with the second half, though, and when I hit the spicy scene my rating dropped from 3.5 (which I wanted to round up) to 3 and for a moment I was even considering 2.5…
At the end I’m settling on 3 but it truly was a mixed reading experience for me.
The premise was interesting and kind of unique - the missed cruise part, but at the same time some of the details were rather unbelievable and you just had to not question the plot too much to still have fun. Like she paid a lot for the luxury cruise and then missed most of it and didn’t make a big deal of it?
Their shenanigans chasing after the ship were funny at first but it got boring after a while. At least they didn’t miss ALL of the cruise.
There were a couple funny scenes, I even read them out loud to hubby, they were this cute/funny, but at the end it was supposed to be a romance but I didn’t feel the tension or any connection between the characters. It went from nothing to them jumping into a fling out of the blue (at least that’s how it felt to me). There was zero buildup and then everything. The spice also ruined it for me.
It was written like a fun, simple type of writing and plot execution romcom but then bam, there’s an explicit intimate scene? I mostly read spicy books but I think the spice was not fitting the rest of this book and it would have worked better as fade to black type of romance.
It’s probably more towards 2 rather than 3 for my standards, BUT the funny scenes + the couple deeper scenes saved this book enough for me to go with 3 stars.
Overall it was a fun read, especially the first half, but despite the unique plot, I think I will quickly forget about this book.
I have House Party on my shelf and I’m still excited to read it! I’m leaving Chloe on my tbr but Glad You Came wasn’t the best fit for me.

I had such a great time with Sara and Gus !
On her wedding day, Sara runs away from the altar. Two weeks later, she decides to go on her honeymoon alone. That’s how she finds herself on a luxury cruise around the Mediterranean, where she meets Gus, a member of the famous band Just4Summer.
What I loved most about this story is the Mediterranean setting. It reminded me of a trip I took when I was younger, starting in Venice and traveling through Croatia.
I really enjoyed their relationship, I found it so romantic to watch them fall in love throughout their journey.
In the end, it was a fun and cute read that I would definitely recommend for the summer !

The author did a great job with the settings for this book. It almost felt like I was traipsing around cobbled Italian streets searching for charming trinkets, or drinking coffee in cute cafes (I wish!). This would honestly be the perfect book to take on your summer holiday.
I really loved both of the main characters. As an eldest sister to younger sisters, I could really relate to Sara with the responsibility she felt toward her siblings. I loved seeing her finally letting go and doing something for herself for once. I also really enjoy Gus’s character. Despite being a celebrity, he was incredibly down to earth, charming, and funny. Sara and Gus had fantastic banter and chemistry, and I loved seeing them fall for one another.
Although seeing Sara and Gus miss their cruise ship at multiple ports was a bit anxiety inducing, seeing the adventures they went on made up for it. There were lots of delicious forced proximity moments as a result, and also some really funny situations that the characters found themselves in.
Although my heart hurt a little bit towards the end, the ending and epilogue were amazing, and I am so satisfied with where the characters ended up.

This was just such a fun summery read, I had such a good time! I’m such a sucker for a celebrity romance, and I loved the setting and the premise.
The writing was so easy to binge, the characters were so lovable and some of the situations they found themselves in were so chaotic 🤣
My only critique was that the ending felt a little bit rushed and I’m not a fan of double epilogues!! But everything else was chef’s kiss ☺️

Glad You Came was honestly such a good time. Like… zero complaints. No notes. I loved it from start to finish.
Sara and Gus were everything. Their journey felt so real and relatable, which is one of my favourite things about this author’s books. And Gus? Absolutely obsessed. Every time he said anything, I was swooning. He had that perfect mix of charm, heart, and depth that made it impossible not to fall for him.
Sara was equally amazing, so relatable, strong, and fiercely herself. I loved how grounded she felt as a character. One of the things I really appreciate is how Chloe writes stories that feel believable. Nothing feels over-the-top or forced, you can actually picture these situations happening in real life, which makes the emotional beats hit even harder.
What I loved most is that this wasn’t just a romance. It was also about self-discovery, learning to let go, and finally shaking off the weight of past obligations and expectations. That added so much depth to the story.
The whole book had me hooked. It genuinely felt like watching an episode of The Amazing Race, chaotic, fast-paced, and full of moments where everything that could go wrong absolutely did. But that’s what made it so fun. And because Sara and Gus were such well-developed characters, seeing them handle all of it made the story even better.
Also, the sister group? Loved them. They felt so real, messy, lovable, flawed, and completely unforgettable.
This book was an easy five stars for me, and honestly, if I could give it more, I would. I’ll be waiting very impatiently for whatever Chloe writes next.

Ohhhh this book is like a fairytale for anyone who has ever fangirled over a guy in a band. It is literally the ultimate fantasy of what would happen if you just so happened to bump into him (literally) in the wild, only to fail to recognise him, and then later end up stranded and on a European adventure together. Honestly, just butterflies in your stomach, kicking your feet, giggling at the banter, summer romance perfection. I loved every minute. I was SUPPOSED to stop reading at certain points and I managed it the first time, but the second time, I just couldn't and I devoured it in one sitting.
The plot was a fast paced, flirty, fun romcom with so many cute tropes and lines that had me grinning ear to ear. The characters were well fleshed out and felt like real people- real people I would want to hang out with. Gus and Sara had such great chemisty and I just loved their banter, the tension, and the one bed scenario, as well as how it all came together in the end.
If you are looking for a super fun holiday read, then this is for you!

I absolutely ADORED Sara and Gus’s story. She is a runaway bride on her honeymoon alone and he is a boyband member trying to escape real life, they both end up on the same cruise and when they miss getting back on the ship they travel through various towns together to chase the ship down.
This was SO unique and fun, it really felt action packed and focused so much on the characters individually, the setting, the banter etc as well as the growing romance. I laughed out loud so many times, I felt like I was literally travelling through these cities with them, I couldn’t put the book down! As a side note, it was also so refreshing that they didn’t fall in love by 20% through, I love a slow burn and I saw so much of myself in Sara.
Highly recommend this one as a summer/holiday read especially. Thank you Bloomsbury for the proof copy.

I had a great time dashing around Europe with Sara and Gus! This was a fun and adventurous rom com. I loved the celebrity element, made even better by Sara’s initial obliviousness. Gus and Sara had a warm and kind dynamic, and I enjoyed their witty banter. The side cast of characters were equally entertaining and endearing, Sara’s sisters had me laughing out loud.
Like Ford’s previous books, House Party and Work Trip, this has classic rom com vibes, and I’d happily watch it as a movie. I was excited to hear it was part of a planned series and will be looking forward to the next book!

Firstly a special moment please to the girl code that Sara and Hattie have! The code red made me laugh so much but that is the level of friendship everyone should aspire to have.
The honeymoon cruise that Sara finds herself on, albeit alone sounded super dreamy and she definitely deserved to go. This book was nothing like I was expecting it to be and felt we were in for a cruise of a lifetime.
However, Chloe wrote us so much more than that! I absolutely adored everything that went wrong (I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone by saying too much!). The adventures were picturesque, fun and made me want to drop everything and get on a plane.
Gus worked so hard to try and gain Sara’s trust as a friend, he was really quirky and fun and his sunshine rubbed off on the dark cloud that Sara had over her. Sara was disgruntled by his presence ever since they first bumped into each other, I must admit when that happened I thought he was a bit of a jerk 😂. However, he changed my mind he was nothing but persistent and I loved it. I think it helped that she didn’t know who he was and he was desperately trying to keep a low profile and that made everything extra fun.
The story building in this book was perfect, I’m happy the disasters kept happening on their travels because of how it brought them closer together. We got to see a deeper level of both characters which after everything they had been through was really sweet.
This is a fabulous book for a summer / holiday read. I have loved Chloe’s previous books, her style of writing is easy to read and enjoy. The characters are all likeable and add character to the story itself. What happens on holiday stays on holiday, right? 🥹

Thank you to Chloe Ford and Aria for the eARC of Glad You Came. I was genuinely so excited when the email inviting me to read this popped up in my inbox because I absolutely loved her debut, Work Trip.
I was especially excited to read Sara's story because we briefly met her in House Party and I've always been curious about her character. In that book, she came across as serious and like she had a lot on her mind. If I'm remembering correctly, it felt as though something was bothering her and I'm wondering if this was the story behind it. Getting to finally step into her perspective was a treat.
What I enjoyed most was watching Sara slowly let go of the need to have everything planned out. Honestly, if I were in Sara's shoes, I would've been freaking out the entire time because missing your cruise ship in another country sounds like an actual nightmare. But throughout this unexpected journey, she learns to embrace spontaneity and open herself up to new experiences and I loved seeing that growth.
And then there's Gus. I absolutely adored him. Despite his celebrity status, he was incredibly down-to-earth and had such a kind, calming presence. I loved how he encouraged Sara to live in the moment and helped her realize that sometimes the best memories come from the things we never planned for.
Their romance was sweet, heartfelt and developed at a pace that felt realistic. More than anything, I loved the emotional connection they built along the way. They were exactly what the other needed at that particular moment in their lives and I found myself rooting for them from beginning to end.
While this book is full of fun and heartwarming moments, it also packed an emotional punch. There was one particular scene involving toward the end that had me tearing up. I won't spoil it, but if you've read that part you know exactly what I'm talking about.
And the epilogue? Absolutely adorable. It left me with the biggest smile on my face and made it incredibly difficult to say goodbye to these characters.
I believe this is just the first book in a series following the former members of Just4Summer, and even though the other guys were only mentioned through Gus,
I am already looking forward to seeing whose story is next and what Chloe has planned for the rest of the series.
Overall, Glad You Came is a charming, heartwarming romance about unexpected adventures, taking chances and discovering that sometimes the best things in life happen when everything goes completely off course.

Both characters come to the story with a lot more baggage than that in their suitcases, and as they find themselves careering through the Adriatic in a mad-cap quest to rejoin their cruise, they gradually open-up the things that they have been running from, and become each other's safe space - Sara learning to let go, and Gus forging a connection he has not felt for a long time. But Sara has doubts about how real their relationship can really be in the long term, especially when Gus' fame intrudes on their adventure.
Ford knows how to write a good rom-com, with plenty of heat, as evidenced by her previous stand-alones Work Trip and House Party, but this is my favourite one yet. There is ample opportunity for laughter and tears as themes about taking on too much too young and becoming trapped are explored, and Sara and Gus carry their sides of the plot beautifully as their hopes, dreams and fears bring them together and then throw hurdles in the way of their romance. The chemistry between them is to die for, with plenty of steamy suspense, and the threads all tie-up in one luscious bow at the end. This book has my favourite supporting cast of Ford's yet too, with a celebration of sisterhood.

There is ample opportunity for laughter and tears as themes about taking on too much too young and becoming trapped are explored, and Sara and Gus carry their sides of the plot beautifully as their hopes, dreams and fears bring them together and then throw hurdles in the way of their romance. The chemistry between them is to die for, with plenty of steamy suspense, and the threads all tie-up in one luscious bow at the end. This book has my favourite supporting cast of Ford's yet too, with a celebration of sisterhood.
Absolutely perfect summer reading! I cannot wait to see which member of Just4Summer gets to find true love next!

She teams up with Gus, who wants to enjoy a solo holiday away from his team, to reach the ship and the more time they spend together, the closer they get.
This isn't my first book by this author and it won't be my last. I love the way they write and after loving House Party, I knew as soon as I saw this that I had to pick it up. I remember that I was intrigued by Sara's character and wanted her to be happy. This book's premise was right up my alley and it didn't disappoint.
In both this book and House Party, the MMCs were respectful, swoonworthy and romantic which I LOVE. Gus was a such a nice guy and actually showed her that he wanted her. He didn't pressure her into anything and Sara always had the choice to voice her feelings. He was a caring guy, listened and he felt like a real person. I felt sad when hearing about how his agent treated him and I loved the ending of this book.
Sara was a very likeable character and I resonated with her quite a bit. She acted a bit like the mother who she missed dearly with her family and it was obvious that it took a toll on her. During the trip she was enjoying herself and I'm glad she had Gus. The adventures that they went on were so fun and the descriptive writing allowed my imagination to picture the places and feel like I was there right alongside them. The spicy scenes were well written and purposeful and a specific moment with the lip stick made me gasp.
I liked how the author wrote the scenes with her sisters as it felt realistic and the scene towards the end where they talk was really emotional.
Overall, I would recommend this book as I loved the writing and this is a great fun summer read with both adventure and humour. I would definitely pick up another of this author's books.

Okay, so was I slightly concerned that this was a romance taking place only two months after Sara called off her five-year relationship? Yes. Yes, I was.
Was I also slightly concerned about the pop star x normal person romance? Again, yes. Those romances can be really difficult to pull off convincingly because the realities of their lives are so wildly different. It's easy for the celebrity aspect to feel unrealistic or for the relationship to feel like it only works within the confines of the book.
Thankfully, Chloe completely won me over.
Did all of my concerns immediately disappear the second Gus appeared on page because he might genuinely be one of the funniest fictional men I've ever met and I'm a little bit in love with him? Also yes. Absolutely yes.
I adored the setup of this book. The fact that Sara and Gus both miss the same cruise stop and end up stranded together, desperately trying to make their way back to the ship, was such a fun concept. It gave them the chance to get to know each other away from the expectations and pressures of Gus's fame, which made their connection feel natural and believable. Watching them navigate one disaster after another while slowly falling for each other was incredibly sweet, and Chloe once again proves that she has a gift for writing the most giggle-inducing, swoon-worthy book boyfriends. Gus had me smiling like an idiot for most of the book, and his chemistry with Sara made the romance so easy to root for. The whole thing was fun, charming, and ridiculously bingeable.
Now, I do have one major complaint.
Freddie was mentioned approximately 0.5 times, mostly in relation to how hot he is (which, for the record, I agree with), but WHERE were my Freddie cameos? Your Honour, I love him. I needed more. The people demand more Freddie.
And look, I know this isn't Freddie's book. He already had his moment in the previous book. I understand that. I respect that. But knowing that did not stop me from wanting him to randomly appear every few chapters so I could kick my feet and giggle.

I've said before and I'll say it again, Chloe Ford 👏🏻 never 👏🏻 misses 👏🏻 and here's another fantastic book to prove my point!
Urgh I loved everything about this book; the cruise locations, the character development, the sisterhood!? to name just a few. Sara is so badass in the beginning and one of the things that I reaaaaaaaaaally liked is how Sara has a reason to leave her fiance at the alter but its only mentioned once and then never again, it remains a mystery throughout the book with everyone except Gus, which I think is great!? It becomes a romance novel with a woman who's finding herself again and becoming this beaaaautiful butterfly #iykyk 🐛 The settings are described so magically, it's easy to feel like you're there with them...and feeling all their stress 😂 This book was the most stressful romance book I've ever read!? Missing the cruise one time I can get over, but missing it a further two more times!? With no money and no phone charger!? PLEASE I cannot COPE 🫠
Loved Gus and Sara as a couple, forever and always. The yearning and banter is top notch and I think I fell in love with Gus too? What a guy, a popstar who doesn't really seem like a popstar - we love to see it. Their character development with each other as well as themselves, is magnificent. They slowly but surely become each other's safe space, telling each other all their secrets (except those that can't legally be shared ofc) and this helps their relationship blossom from a potential rebound to...well you'll have to find out!
4⭐️ as I wanted Sara to share her dream situation with her sisters and her dad, I feel like this was an area that wasn't really addressed and I reaaaaaaally wanted this massive cathartic ending for Sara and her sisters, but maybe it happened off page? She had one with Gus and I liked what happened with her sisters, but I just wanted a liiiiiiiiiittle bit more concerning her mum
Hiiiiighly recommend for the summer time, I'm itching to get away to Monaco and see that 'famous bend in the road' 😂🤪

After loving Work Trip and House Party last year, I was so excited to pick up Chloe’s newest release, Glad You Came.
Sara is a runaway bride who goes on her luxury honeymoon cruise on her own, which implodes almost immediately when she misses the ship at its second stop. Stranded and bracing for disaster she realises she’s not alone - Gus, world famous pop star has also been left behind! To avoid the headlines he teams up with Sara to chaotically chase the cruise across the Mediterranean. As they stumble from city to city, the chemistry between them soon becomes impossible to ignore…
This really did my tween popstar heart happy as a gal who loved McFly and Busted!! I also went on a med cruise as a teen and stopped at many of these places so the whole combo really worked for me! I did feel some anxiety whilst they were racing through each city with zero phone charge (Sara PLEASE get a new phone hun), as an organised gal it really did hurt my heart 😂😂
This was such a fun summer read - it really is the perfect easy beach read, I devoured it in one sitting! I loved finally getting Sara’s story and Chloe didn’t let me down with this one! Sara and Gus were so sweet together, I loved their banter, the teasing and the delightful slow burn! It was perfect.
Gus was a real sweetheart, he understood the challenges his fame brought and didn’t pressure Sara in any way. I loved how he understood her and helped her let her hair down!!!
Understanding Sara’s challenges as the eldest daughter and her relationships with her sisters was a really lovely addition to the story (I would love to be a part of their group chat 😭). Getting to watch her let go and become her own person, instead of the mother figure of the family was wonderful.
If you love a slow burn, grumpy x sunshine rom-com with pop star x runaway bride, opposites attract, with only one bed, Mediterranean adventures and lots of forced proximity, then I think you’ll enjoy this one!
Overall, another brilliant book from Chloe and I’m excited to see what she writes next!

and omfg it did not disappoint!!!! gus and sara were absolutely everything i loved them so much!! both such great characters and written so well i was literally giggling kicking my feet at their chemistry like AAAAAA so so so obsessed with them
gus is DOWN BADDDDD for sara we absolutely LOVE to see it ugh and their banter is top tier!! honestly the comedy/humour throughout was so good, i laughed out loud soooo many times
the black cat x golden retriever vibes🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️ gus is such a sad boy golden retriever though like the underlying sad boy vibes waaaaa i love him so much perfect book boyfriend UGH sad boy golden retrievers for the win. also he reads fanfics about himself😛😛😛😛

Having read and loved her debut novel Work Trip, I was more than a little excited to receive an ARC of Chloe Ford's latest release, Glad You Came. This is a forced proximity romance featuring a runaway bride (Sara), and a runaway pop star (Gus), and the Mediterranean setting makes this the perfect summer beach read!
I will begin by saying that I am not a regular romance reader, but there is something about Chloe Ford's writing that never fails to draw me in, so I would highly encourage anyone looking to dip their toes in to this genre, to start with one of her incredible books.
Chloe Ford writes with a near perfect blend of humour and heart, and you will find yourself laughing out loud one minute, then close to tears the next. Her characters are that little bit older (not teenagers), which I find makes them all the more relatable and endearing. Gus has perfect Golden Retriever energy, and as his band Just4Summer are on the verge of splitting up, this book explores what comes next after stardom, and what's left behind once all the glitz and glamour is stripped away. Sara is the oldest of 4 sisters, and as their mother died young, she was forced to grow up incredibly quickly, and step in to that maternal void. Chloe Ford's reflections on grief and the ripple effects of premature maturity, are incredibly moving.
The chemistry between Gus and Sara is electric and they bounce off each other beautifully with their witty repartee and zingy one-liners. In parts, this book reminded me of an old fashioned farce, and I absolutely loved the comical predicaments are two central characters find themselves in. The Mediterranean setting provided a perfect backdrop for their hijinks and I loved exploring so many beautiful places through their eyes. What a treat!

This was a brilliant adventure of a book where it seemed like it was going to be a straightforward boy-meets-girl on a luxury cruise - I loved it!
Sara left her husband at the altar after discovering something she wishes she hadn't, but is persuaded to just take the big honeymoon cruise by herself. It's here that she bumps, quite literally, into a man who immediately irritates her; it's only later on that she thinks he looks familiar and finds out that he's a member of a famous band, Just4Summer. It's all going okay, she thinks, until she accidentally misses the ship leaving port on one of the first stops...only to find that celebrity, Gus, has done the exact same thing, leaving them stranded and trying to catch up with the cruise...together.
I had such a good time with this book. These two really take an adventure when they planned for a relaxing cruise - I was practically shouting at the pages for them to get their acts together and get moving to get back on the ship, but also for them to just to get it together with each other too! What a wild ride!
The chemistry between the two was on point. They had excellent banter which came together so well in a fiery relationship, but Gus was also caring and affectionate. In the lead up to them getting together, there was so much yearning and tension - like I said, screaming at the book for them to figure each other out!
I loved the journey of self-discovery that Sara took through the book. She goes from being so unsure at leaving behind the life she thought she was going to have, and being a "mum" to her younger sisters, to being a strong, capable woman who takes what she wants. Her sisters were excellent characters - a little bit intimidating (I wouldn't want to be up against them!) but so full of life and energy. It felt like a real family dynamic.
Highly recommend this as a summer read, and I'll be watching for more from the author!

A well paced, sun-drenched Rom-Com with hilarious travel hijinks and a deliciously slow burn romance that had me swooning. I literally never wanted this to end!
Firstly, I adored our protagonist Sara! As the sensible, older sister (who always puts others first), she comes off as quite emotionally guarded and control oriented. The chaos that ensues and the romantic tension that simmers between the them was absolutely marvellous as well! And I was obsessed every witty, banter-filled and adorably swoon worthy moment.
I won’t go into specifics in case of spoilers, but we do travel through UNESCO sites (Dubrovnik, Rome) and iconic coastal destinations (Portofino, Monaco, Cannes.) Which lead to some hilariously unglamorous situations for our duo, that wouldn’t be out of place in a Bridget Jones movie.
Think broken down coaches, questionably cheap B&Bs and one rather unconventional trip on a fishing boat (all whilst trying to keep her famous travel companion incognito.) I was pretty much glued to my seat the entire time!
Overall, a fabulously entertaining, swoony and unputdownable read that has me soo excited for the rest of the series. And Rom-Com loving Boyband fans definitely need to consider checking out!

Such a cheerful and fun book.> I am in absolute love. The first thing to start with is the whole idea of this book. Absolutely AMAZING! Runaway Bride and Popstar escaping reality ?? Please, sign me up already.
This book has my whole heart. I love my babies, Gus and Sara. Gus was such a gentleman. I love the way he treats Sara. Their banter is top class. Swoon worthy moments when required were perfect. My tummy always did this unexpected flip whenever they were in close proximity. Like the energy was vibrating out of the device. So the chemistry between character was so f*cking cute.
Sara, on ther other hand was so well built up. Her reservations being an elderly sister and then setting free out in travelling. Such a wonderful thing to read.
I love the way they navigated to cities and had this pure passion to explore everything in the city. Also each place was so well described. All up to the point. No lengthy unnecessary explanation. Just perfect.
I also want to point out the perfect ending at end of the chapter. It kept an enthusiasm to keep going on. I literally ate this book up in 2 days straight. It was like can't think of anything else. It still occupies a surreal amount of my brain cells. I am in awe!
All the side character, whether it is roko , cole, grace or all of the Sara's sister, everyone has molded the story so well. I loved them all.
All I have to say in nutshell is that, this book has become my absolute FAV and all time comfort book.
100/10 star, throughout undoubtedly.

Had the best time reading this one, was VERY highly anticipated as I’ve read both of Chloe’s other books and adored them!
Before I talk about the characters in this book I wanted to make a point of highlighting how good the stage setting is in this book. I have actually been up the Adriatic coast on a similar, if not less chaotic, trip years ago which involved a bus from Croatia into Montenegro. I can’t tell you how much I was transported back to that trip. The descriptions of the cities they visit along the way were so on point but even when they visited a city I haven’t been to I felt like I could really picture it.
Sara was a really interesting character as I didn’t warm to her in House Party but seeing her in more detail and watching her development through Glad You Came was so satisfying. Gus was an absolute dream MMC, a total golden retriever and had me literally giggling and kicking my feet. I only wish that Mike met his fate because I feel like he got let off Scott free!!
The banter between Gus and Sara was absolutely sensational, I am a sucker for a female lead who can give as good as she gets. This is the first pop star romance I’ve read and it was such a nice change of pace, very intrigued about the next books, feel like we didn’t get much of an introduction to the other members of the band so I have no idea where we might go next which is exciting!

Always happy to read another Chloe Ford book (insert “glad I came” pun here). It seems Sara, something of a mystery in previous book House Party, does indeed have a tale to tell, and it’s one full of humour, self-discovery, and a madcap journey with a beautifully described European backdrop. Sara is the sensible one, the one forced to grow up far too early, and going on the honeymoon of her dreams after bailing on the wedding is quite enough of a deviation from her comfort zone. Getting stranded is a whole different level of adventure… but then there’s Gus, and the two of them on the page together are an absolute delight. I loved the fact that Sara has no real clue who he is to begin with, and even after she works it out, she treats him with a mixture of curiosity, bemusement, and a distinct lack of deference. As they get to know each other, two lonely people opening up as they make it through their planes, trains and automobiles-style dash (except replace the plane with a really small boat), the tension between them builds - as ever, this author balances the banter and the emotion really well, seasoning it with more than a touch of spice. As ever, the supporting cast are on point: Sara’s sisters are a blend of infuriating and supportive in that particular sibling way, and it’s nice to get a glimpse of Hattie from House Party. Definitely a summer romance to get lost in, and I can’t help wondering if the other members of Gus’s boyband might be next…

I have been sat for Sara's story since Work Trip, so I was so incredibly excited when this book (series) was announced (loved the little Hattie cameos). This was a very cute read that has the ultimate summer vibes. I mean they are floating around the Mediterranean, how much more summer can it get? I have been there myself more than once and it really is a lovely place to spend your time (like a honeymoon after you ran away from your wedding...). I thought Sara and Gus were really cute together and love how they grew closer through their little (big?) adventures. I loved seeing Gus away from the limelight and being able to be himself. I loved the insights in their minds we got and how big events in their childhood/teens shaped them until this day (albeit completely different events, but still). I also loved the sister squad (you know what, I made that up literally whilst writing this and I will be calling them this from here on out, because I love it lol) and how they talked some of their struggles out and grew closer.
I must admit that the book was slightly stressful in certain places as being late gives me anxiety (iykyk lol).
I can't wait to see whose book comes next (I have an idea). I would also loveeee for another couple to get a book, but I'm not sure if that is ever going to happen (I am not below begging).

If you're looking for a delightful summer beach read, then can I suggest you can't go wrong with Glad You Came.
Runaway bride Sara decides to go on her luxury Mediterranean honeymoon cruise on her own - but things quite quickly go south when she is late back to the ship at the second port. I think almost every girl at some point has had the fantasy of her favourite singer noticing her and choosing her to spend his life with, what an actual dream and Sara is living that dream with her pop star, Gus.
I had so much love for these two.
She’s escaping from life to get away from running away at her wedding from the man who hadn’t been faithful.
He’s running away to get some peace, to be himself without eyes on him 24/7.
A two week cruise, what could possibly go wrong?
Well, let me tell you, it’s a lot. A lot could go wrong and it does and it had me laughing away because the things these two go through to get back on course…crazy.
I loved their instant friendship, they both recognised the hurt in each other which pulled them closer and helped each other to heal themselves. I loved watching them explore together and getting to know each other, it was so good.
