A devious handsome billionaire walked into my bar, seduced me, asked me to marry him, and then turned my life upside down with a jaw-dropping contract...
Gorgeous Sebastian Laurence walked into my life on a stormy Monday afternoon. The thunder and lightning that filled the room upon his entrance should have been a sign that all was not as it seemed.
Within a day, he’d asked me out.
Within two days, we were in Vegas.
Like a fool, I thought this was the beginning of our perfect love story.
On Friday, he told me he thought we were soulmates and that we should get married.
The very next night the man carried me into our honeymoon suite with love in his eyes.
Sure, I didn’t know what he did for a living, but my hopeless romantic self thought I had a lifetime to find out.
Then on Sunday morning he handed me a ridiculous contract, told me that he will never love me, and that he’s going to make me pay for a past betrayal. He said I can’t leave him or he will destroy my family business (but I have no idea what he’s talking about).
My true love story has become an absolute nightmare and now I’m wondering how I can get rid of the handsome husband that is determined to make my life a misery. Even if a teensy part of me is excited by the contract and the challenge of turning his life upside down and making him fall for me.
Sebastian and Willow’s story was unemotional, sparkless and unimpressive. The complete lack of chemistry and connection between the mcs was absolutely obvious.
Moreover, the sex scenes were subpar. I don’t want to come across with lines such as “I’m quite hungry for some sausage right now” during a couple’s lovemaking. 🙄
I had such high hopes for this book after reading the blurb but it was very disappointing. The lack of consistency is something that frustrates the hell out of me when reading books where basic information changes, such as their physical appearance or names etc. I don't understand how it never seems to get picked up by authors, editors, proof readers and even the arc readers before these books get released. In this instance the main female character's eye colour changes from blue to green on multiple occasions. The merger's name (although not too important in the grand scheme of the story) changed three times.
But about the story itself, the mmc was a narcissistic, arrogant a$$hole who seemed to lack common sense and his decisions based on what little information he had made me think he had the intelligence of pine cone. How he is a billionaire business man is beyond me. The mfc was incredibly naive considering her upbringing and too weak willed on occasions for my liking. How anyone (the mmc & the fmc) could honestly believe the absolute drivel he spouted continuously to make her fall for him was absurd. If she thought the dating app guy was reading from a script of lines, the mmc was no better, if not worse, and would be red flags to anyone with an ounce of common sense. As someone who has to always finish a book, if not in the hope it gets better, but to at least see what happens and to get a conclusion. Unfortunately this book lacked a real conclusion, there didn't seem to be any real ending, and there was so much more information we should have been given, in the very least there should have been consequences or punishment for the villians of the story. When you are given so much build up to find out who the villians are and all that they've done, you at least expect some kind of retribution for them, whether by legal prosecution or other means, but to get nothing is such a let down, like trying to burst a balloon to only have the air quietly leak out to deflate it without even a pop.
I do not like to give a bad review of any book, as I know authors put so much time and love into their work, and whilst I have many of this author's books, this one just had too many things that irk me as a reader eg, the errors and inconsistencies, and the lack of believability (yes I know it's fiction) and conclusions just made it a book that I couldn't enjoy. Books are my escape and I read on average one a day, and have over 8000 in my reader, so I will be returning this one to kindle unlimited and not buying it as I do with the most of the ones I love that I've borrowed. In saying that, I will still read the next one in this series just to see if we get any more of a conclusion with the villians from this book. 🤞
Willow Montgomery had a really tough time working for her evil cousin, Charlotte. When billionaire Sebastian Laurence appeared into her life she thought she had a chance at living one of those kind of beautiful love stories and thinking that maybe she could have a chance at escaping the hard life she had until then. The thing was that Willow and Sebastian had something in common and that specific thing will only roll into an even more complicated problem. Why? Because that "something" hit a sensitive spot with Sebastian and now he was looking for revenge, trying to to whatever it took to earn Willow's heart. So, the beautiful idea that Sebastian fell falling in love with Willow so fast was just a little mirage which faded only after a couple of days after their official bound. A marriage in Vegas and a very strict contract had completely changed Willow's entire life, in particular. Was everything indeed an illusion or maybe there was something real in all of that?
The main themes of this story were the revenge and miscommunication. Even from the start that was Sebastian's plan, to get his revenge for what happened to his brother and his suffering. The miscommunication wasn't something I liked that much, but it played a key part into this story. Also, some other factors were added to all of that, which made the whole situation even harder to handle. Sebastian and Willow had a hot and cold relationship, even after he turned his back to Willow. And all of that was because of the insane chemistry they actually had, even though that wasn't in the plans Sebastian initially had.
Overall, this story was a lesson of life, not judging a situation or person without having the whole picture and all the details. These details were essential to this story and the branches of the plot developing into that complicated situation the characters were in.
Many thanks to J.S Cooper and team for offering me this early book.
What the heck? The scammers didn’t get taken down?! The brother didn’t go to rehab or whatever he needed to do? The hero didn’t seems to grovel enough. Skip. The elements are there but not used efficiently enough.
Willow and Sebastian are a great couple, if you like revenge and mystery then this is the book for you. Sebastian’s little brother has his heart broken and Sebastian decides that he’s going to avenge his brother and get revenge, so he meets Willow, and plays with her emotions, pretends to like her, dates her and then marries her, then drops his bombshell that he’s getting his revenge for his brother. Willow works for her cousin, who is nasty, with her who besties running a Bed and Breakfast. She gets a second job and meets Sebastian on her first shift and while thinking he’s hot 🥵 she finds out how nasty he is. Willow has no idea how much her cousin is trying to ruin her life. This book is great, I really enjoyed it and the storyline is next level. I especially enjoyed the twists and turns that the story has. I highly recommend you reading this book, it’s absolutely worth reading. I give this book 5 stars 🌟
You know those popcorn times romance movies that have no substance no proper dialogue or story but you still don’t stop because why not waste time here than doomscrolling? This was something like that
No chemistry, no substance in characters, they never rly do anything for a reason. Just random acts one after the other to get to the finish line
Mostly scrolled through this Still didn’t particularly mind reading it or thought that this was a waste of time like some others books 👀
What an intense story about a brother who is always seemingly getting himself into situations, and then has an older brother who feels he must come to his rescue and shame the person who hurt said sibling. Sadly in life, as we all know there are those, who are out to do harm to those who are innocent, so more than willing to set up those people to hype themselves up. This story is truly amazing, has all the feelings involved, emotions and learning to open your heart.
I just finished this book. It was giving me og romance vibes think TL Swan, Louise Bay billionaire vibes. And I love a billionaire romance. I don’t read many anymore which is a shame. I am glad I got the opportunity to read this one.
This is for me what I call original romance with love. Romance and love are two very different things. And this book had both. Love between friends and romance eventually when the story gets there.
- Sebastian is on a path of revenge for his heart broken younger brother who has been tricked into giving money away and his shares of the family company. Sebastian is angry.
Willow is a woman who struggles to make ends meet. Good things don’t happen to her. Until she meets Sebastian, she believes she met the most perfect man. Sebastian sweeps her off her feet. But the fairytale doesn’t last long.
I really liked this book, the plot kept me guessing with the plot twists and the unraveling of everything. It was full of drama, friendship, hate and love.
So if you like -
- modern cinderella vibes - revenge plot - character growth - alpha billionaire - mistaken identity - grumpy x sunshine - rom com
I recommend this book.
My only fault with this book was some of the quotes, and a few conversations were a bit cringy and played out. It took the realness away from the story for me.
I loved this book, it was a different story then most Billionaire Books I have read. Willow has a bad childhood and wants to run her own Bed & Breakfast or Hotel with her 2 best friends. They all 3 are saving up as much as they can to get to their dream. Willow starts another job and meets Sebastian and it does not go great. He finds out that his brother gave a girl, millions of dollars because he is so heartbroken. Sebastian wants to find out who it was that took his brothers money. He hires a investigator and they said that girl is Willow even though it is not. He wants revenge and starts fake falling for her and she is a romantic and truly believes in love. They decide to get married in Vegas on a whim and that's when things go wrong between the both of them. After figuring things out they find out more things about them that either knew about. I loved the chemistry between Willow and Sebastian, as the story went on I started putting things together and correct on what was exactly happening. I am excited to read the 2nd book in this series.
Willow has lived a hard life, basically a real-life Cinderella story. After losing her parents young, she is taken in by her aunt and cousin, Charolette, who make sure she never truly feels loved or wanted. Despite everything, Willow works two jobs and fights for her future.
Enter Sebastian: a grumpy billionaire with zero interest in relationships. Their first encounter is anything but friendly. He is cold, abrasive, and Willow is more than ready to knock him down a peg.
But when Sebastian learns that Willow is the woman behind his brother’s heartbreak and the reason his life went off the rails, he is determined to make her pay, not let her walk away scot free.
Holy miscommunication!! 😅 I really enjoyed this story and loved the overall concept. The Cinderella vibes, the tension, and their fiery clashes kept me hooked. That said, there were a few moments where scenes shifted mood a little too quickly, and some plot points felt rushed. I definitely would have loved to see certain parts developed more.
Still, it was an entertaining, emotional read with great potential, and I am excited to see more from this author! 💛📚
✨ What to Expect ✨ 🎬 Romcom 💰 Billionaire Romance 🔒 Forced Proximity 🌤️ Grumpy x Sunshine 💥 Enemies to Lovers 🕶️ Mistaken Identity
The Result of Making Decisions Based on False Information - OMG! I am shocked I didn’t have a heart attack with the way my heart was beating out of sync and the intense rollercoaster ride this story took me on. This slow build romance story drew me in from the beginning and had me totally engrossed, as I anxiously turned the pages hoping to find out if there would be a resolution to the saga and the main characters found a way to get a happily ever after. I can say without a shadow of doubt, that the time spent reading this book was worth every second and it has left me looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I received an advanced review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was the perfect enemies to lovers for me. I finished it one sitting! I couldn’t put this book down and to keep reading. I love J.S.Cooper’s writing! I love a good billionaire romance! I loved the Mistaken Identity revenge trope! I thought it was well written. I loved reading the revenge unfold but also felt bad for Willow. I laughed, cried, got angry, and smiled! I loved willow! I loved her sweet and sultry side!! I thought Sebastian was sexy and made the perfect billionaire. I absolutely adored the bed and breakfast that Willow works at even though it’s owned by her cousin. i thought it was cute and great addition to the book.
I can’t wait for the next book! This book is must read!
Willow, a hard working middle class trying to fulfill a business dream with her best friends, meets our billionaire hunk Sebastian by chance before life takes a turn for revenge. Love a cute grumpy billionaire romance. This started off strong and although in the last 3rd of the book it shifted and started getting cringy, I still had a good time.

Thank you J.S. Cooper and Hambright PR for the eARC
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was a little repetitive, but the fast pace helped me enjoy it a lot. Once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for the next one!
I think this one was just not for me. The blurb and the plot had such promise but unfortunately it fell flat. Willow is seen as a modern day Cinderella. Losing her parents at the age of five she was taken in by her aunt and cousin. She never truly felt loved by them. Her cousin is a nasty piece of work stealing Willow's dream of owning a bed and breakfast with her two best friends. Instead her cousin won the "lottery" twice and bought the B&B the girls all work at. They girls barely make any money and all three end up having to get a second job. Willow ends up finding a job in the city working as a coat check attendant at a upscale club. This is also where she meets our MC Sebastian, a 35 year old billionaire. However he is quite rude to her during their first encounter.Sebastian's brother is a hot mess and has fled the country to Thailand after some mysterious women takes him for $10 mil. He's so heartbroken he wants to give up his place in their family business. He his assistant reveals that the mystery women is none other than Willow, so Sebastian sets off to book a room at her B&B to enact his revenge.
This is also where I have lots of questions. He thinks Willow is taking money from all these men including his brother, but yet she is working two jobs and always in cheaper clothes. Which he never really questions, but yet is supposed to be some smart billionaire. Also his assistant gal is weird and constantly propositions to him which he constantly brushes off. He also moves quite quickly with Willow and has all this time to talk off even though he has a large business meeting coming up. They also plan when they are going to have sex which is also weird.
I also have questions about this "Clark Kent" guy Willow was talking with and went on one date. Why did he wear a cape to their date and why was he obsessed with banning her iron his clothes.
Might be harsh, but in a nutshell, the author cannot write well. The writing is so immature and staccato and the characters are caricatures. The dialogue is cringe and the humour is pants. It’s pretty crazy how this sort of writing gets past editors. The 4 and 5 star reviews I’m sure are from her friends or arc readers whose reviews are being tracked. Even if you don’t trust 1 star reviews - do read the 3 star review posted by another reviewer likening it to those movies that you go for which are neither for the plot nor for the acting nor for the emotion and just because you want to get out of the house and have nothing better to do. Because really, this book gave nothing
Willow Montgomery has never had an easy life, especially while working under her controlling and spiteful cousin, Charlotte. So when billionaire Sebastian Laurence suddenly steps into her world, Willow can’t help but hope she’s finally getting her chance at a real, beautiful love story—something soft, something freeing, something hers. For a moment, it even seems possible.
But Willow and Sebastian share a painful connection, one that strikes at the deepest part of Sebastian’s past. Instead of love, that truth ignites a desire for revenge. What Willow mistakes for a whirlwind romance is, in reality, Sebastian carrying out a carefully planned strategy. His goal? Get close enough to win her heart, only to use it against her.
Their relationship escalates quickly—a spontaneous Vegas wedding, a strict contract, and a complete upheaval of Willow’s life. What she believed was fate turns out to be something far more complicated. The question that lingers through the story is whether everything between them is a lie… or if something genuine has managed to break through Sebastian’s anger.
Revenge and miscommunication form the foundation of this book. While miscommunication isn’t my favorite trope, it serves a clear purpose here, shaping their emotionally tangled relationship. Sebastian and Willow share undeniable chemistry, even during the moments when he pushes her away or convinces himself he’s still in control. Their dynamic stays hot-and-cold, but always magnetic—the kind of tension that keeps you turning the pages.
One of the strongest themes throughout the story is the reminder not to judge a situation without understanding the full truth. The deeper details of Sebastian’s past—and how they connect to Willow—add layers to the plot and make their emotional journey more impactful as everything unravels.
Overall, this book blends revenge, vulnerability, and complicated love into a story that shows how messy and transformative relationships can be when pain is driving the choices.
A big thank-you to J.S. Cooper and Hambright PR for the chance to read this early.
This is book one in The Billionaire Contract series and it is Sebastian and Willow’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Sebastian and his five friends known as the Oxford Six meet at the Magnolia Club where they drink and talk about what is happening in their lives but when Sebastian’s brother Sergio calls and says that he had his heart broken and she took ten million of his money and walked away Sebastian decided that he would find the woman and make her pay for hurting his brother. When Sebastian and Willow meet he starts his revenge and they eventually go to Vegas and get married but then he presents Willow with paperwork which completely confused her because she doesn’t understand what is happening and that is when everything between them starts to disintegrate and falls apart because he doesn’t believe what she is saying and that she doesn’t know his brother. There is no denying the attraction, chemistry and connection between Sebastian and Willow because they are so explosive and intense when ever they are together but what will happen when the truth is finally revealed, will Sebastian be able to convince her to give him another chance or is it already to late especially after everything that has happened. Wow I have read everything that J S Cooper had written and I have loved every single book but I have to say that this is definitely one of my favourites. This book will take you on a rollercoaster ride of so many different emotions along with all the ups and downs along the way and it will have you turning the pages to see what happens next and also what the outcome will be for them in the end especially after everything that they have both been through. I couldn’t put this book down as it was so addictive and kept my attention throughout and I definitely recommend that you read this book and others by this author and you will not be disappointed. I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.
𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: ★★★ 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: October 30 2025 𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪:
I really wanted to enjoy it, but this book just didn’t work for me the way I hoped it would. The setup sounded dramatic and emotional, the kind of romance that pulls you in and makes you care deeply. Sadly, that never happened here.
The story tried to be intense and passionate, but I didn’t feel any real chemistry between Sebastian and Willow. Their relationship felt hollow, like the emotions were written in rather than lived through. Every time they were together, it felt like the words were trying too hard to convince me of something that wasn’t there. The supposed tension between them just didn’t feel natural or believable.
I kept reading because I wanted to see if it would get better, but no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t connect with it. I forced myself to finish, which isn’t what I want from a romance novel. I want to feel caught up in the emotions, not counting down the pages.
To be fair, the idea behind the book had potential. The mix of love, betrayal, and control could have been powerful in the right hands. I can see what the author was aiming for, something stormy and complicated but it just never reached that point for me. The emotions felt shallow, and the romance lacked the warmth that makes these stories worth reading.
By the time I finished, I didn’t feel moved or satisfied. I just felt tired. It’s disappointing when a story with so much promise turns out this way, but not every book can hit the right notes.
This one is a 3 star read for me. Not terrible, but not enjoyable either. I wanted to feel the love, the heartbreak, the connection, but it never came. Instead, I was left wishing the story had given me a reason to care.
Thank you to J.S. Cooper for the ARC!
𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗦: Billionaire romance, grumpy/sunshine, age gap, enemies to lovers, forced proximity
In order to make ends meet and save up for her own business, Willow Montgomery is forced to work multiple jobs which includes running her evil cousin's bed and breakfast. Her luck soon seems to turn around when the rich and handsome billionaire, Sebastian Laurence, shows up looking for a room. They engage in a whirlwind romance that ends in them eloping in Vegas. Once married. Sebastian drops a contract on her lap stating he was never in love with her and this was all a ploy to exact revenge after the heartbreak she caused his younger brother - but she has no idea what he is talking about. Has Willow's desire for true love blinded her to all the red flags in her fairytale romance and can she convince him she is not who he thinks she is?
The premise of this story was quite interesting but I wish there was more chemistry between the MCs to have me invested in their outcome. All the drama kept me reading even though it was all a bit predictable I needed to see how it all unfolded. The MCs were messy but were self aware of their shortcomings which made it easier to suspend disbelief. I appreciate that Willow acknowledges that she is ignoring all his red flags and that Sebastian knows he is behaving irrationally and even apologizes for his actions. At times the dialogue was a bit cheesy and I struggled to believe the MMC was in his mid thirties - I still have no idea how old Willow is but based on her behavior and dialogue I assumed she was quite young. The contract did not come into play until midway through the story and was largely ignored. The ending surprisingly endeared me to Sebastian once you realized all the burdens he has been forced to shoulder.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🎬 Romcom 💰 Billionaire Romance 🔒 Forced Proximity 🌤️ Grumpy x Sunshine 💥 Enemies to Lovers 🕶️ Mistaken Identity
I loved the idea of this story from the blurb, but the reality didn't match for me. The plot revolves around revenge, but much of what happened seemed to frustrate me.
Sebastian finds out his brother sent $10 million to someone who broke his heart, so he sets about finding her and taking revenge....he finds Willow.
Willow is very much portrayed as a Cinderella character, and even refers to herself as this too. I couldn't understand why she was even working for her aunt/cousin.... go and work for another hotel. She is also so desperate for a fairytale romance that she completely ignores the many red flags waving in front of her, she jumps in with both feet.
Sebastian's version of revenge is to get Willow to love him, and then break her heart, but what he actually does is catch some feelings...maybe.... and then marry her. This was my biggest frustration, for someone who is annoyed at her for taking money, marrying her without any kind of pre-nup was just completely stupid - but it's not even addressed in the book at all. Then he blackmails her into a marriage contract.
Sebastian is a mess of contradictions: one minute he’s showering her with what feels like cringy, corny compliments, and the next he’s slipping in a little dig or trying to control her. The conversations between them often felt stilted and unnatural.
The plot relies heavily on the main characters keeping ridiculous secrets about weird past events, which only leads to massive, frustrating assumptions on both sides.
I found the romance frustrating, I didn't feel like the characters had any real connection or chemistry.
The Husband Contract is impressive and outstanding . UNPUTDOWNABLE!!
I absolutely enjoyed everything about Sebastian and Willow’s story . Its got all those alluring and captivating elements we seek in a romance… intrigue, passion, and engaging characters. From the very moment Sebastian and Willow meet, we know this encounter will lead to a very intense and tantalizing story. This billionaire, revenge seeking, mistaken identity romance, takes you on a journey filled with revelations, scorching intimate moments and strong, amusing friendships. When Sebastian goes to Whispering Haven to put his plan into motion, he didn’t think he would fall for Willow. How could he when he was led to believe she was a gold digger that broke his brothers heart. Sebastian showing up at the bed-and-breakfast baffled Willow. Their first encounter at the Mongolia Club, did not leave her with a good impression of this handsome billionaire. Stargazing night and steamy dates turn into Vegas and married! Just when Willow’s fairytale romance becomes real, Sebastian destroys it when he reveals his revenge. Holy moly, let me say neither saw what was coming next!! The lies, the betrayal and the hurt takes their story into a more interesting and serious direction. So if escaping into a romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next is something you enjoy you will be thoroughly satisfied with Sebastian and Willow’s deeply gripping, highly entertaining and beautiful romance.
This is the first book in a new series The Billionaire Contracts, what a way to kick off the series! We have Willow who is running a bed and breakfast hotel that belongs to her cousin Charlotte, her two best friends Katherine and Brielle also work at the hotel with her, they are all paid incredibly poorly by the snobby Charlotte, who treats Willow like a poor little slave rather than a family member, but they have a group bank account where they are saving to buy their own bed and breakfast one day. Sebastian is a billionaire whose business is just about to sign a huge contract that needs the support and vote on the board of his younger brother Sergio. However, Sergio has called him and told him his heart is broken and he has resigned from the board and is going to holiday in Thailand to forget that his love Willow has broken his heart! Sebastian makes it his mission to find Willow and get revenge not only for breaking Sergio’s heart but for all the money she got from him. The beautifully written characters will have you captivated from the very beginning until the end, the unexpected twists, some shocking moments and of course some very steamy scenes. I read the book in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for Jack and Katherine’s story in the next book. I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book via BookFunnel and I am writing this review voluntarily

Wow,what will J.S. Cooper give us next? This is a fantastic book! I couldn't put it down nor did I want to. It starts out with Willow working at a private club taking coats. Only she hasn't been trained and she she has no idea what she is doing. Sebastian and his buddies from high school and college come through the door of the same private club, Magnolia Club. When it's actually time for Willow to give a number to them she has no idea where to find the numbers in which to give one to them. That same night Sebastian gets news about his brother younger brother Sergio. He has up and left town. He is on his way to Thailand. A woman has broken his heart and con him into giving her $10 million. When his private eye comes back with the info that it was Willow that did this awful stuff to his brother Sebastian decided he would get even with her. So he sets out to find her and begin his plan. The plan was to make Willow fall in love with him and get married and then write a contract so she couldn't get out of the marriage thus ruining her life. He didn't think about the other side of the coin. Willow gets her revenge on him right back. This is a fantastic book and I am looking forward to J.S.Cooper's second in the series. Thank you to J.S. Cooper for the ARC you are awesome and I don't know how you are going to out do yourself from this one.
This is one of, if not the best, book this author has written, in my opinion. I absolutely loved the two main characters, Sebastian and Willow. He is a bit of a grump, but he’s a protector and cares about his family, namely his younger brother, Sergio, and friends. Willow lost her parents when she was five and went to live with her Aunt and cousin, Charlotte. Charlotte is one character that I really didn’t like along with Louisa. I won’t say why, so you can form your own opinions as you read this great book. When Sebastian learns Sergio has had his heart broken and the woman took him for millions, he decides to do something about it. What exactly is he going to do? You’ll have to read to find out, but it may end up backfiring. Willow works with her two best friends, Katherine and Brielle, at Charlotte’s B&B. She takes a second job at Magnolia Club where she first meets Sebastian. He is a rude jerk, although she does find him attractive. Louisa is Sebastian’s investigative assistant and has a thing for him. He has no reason to question her when she gives him the name of the woman that broke Sergio’s heart. The name she gives him is Willow. Now, the story really gets good. Grab your copy and see what happens. I can’t wait for my paperback to arrive.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and this my voluntary and honest review.
Cinderella vibes but make it messy, dramatic, and addictive… that’s exactly what The Husband Contract gave me.
Willow has had the kind of life that makes you root for her from page one. Working two jobs, dealing with her wicked step-sister energy coded cousin, and still dreaming of her own happily ever after? I adored her. She’s soft, hopeful, and stronger than anyone gives her credit for.
And then Sebastian walks in… grumpy, guarded, billionaire, carrying enough baggage to fill a private jet. Their first meeting? Tension. Their chemistry? Instant. Their choices?… questionable at best.
What starts as a fairytale spark quickly twists into secrets, revenge, and a vegas marriage contract that flips Willow’s world inside out. Sebastian frustrated me, charmed me, frustrated me again… and eventually won me over. The groveling? Delicious.
This book has: • Marriage contract chaos • Billionaire x struggling girl • Grumpy x sunshine • Enemies-ish to lovers • Mistaken identity & revenge • Cinderella energy with a twist • A friend group I am now obsessed with
If you love billionaire romances with drama, miscommunication, suspense, tension, and a satisfying redemption arc, this one is 100% worth picking up.
Available now on KU and Amazon Huge thank you to the author and @hambright_pr for this eARC 💛
First off, I must say that J.S. Cooper is my favorite author, and I think this may be her best book yet. I started this book and just couldn't put it down, to the point that I actually ordered pizza for delivery because I didn't want to take time away from it to cook dinner - yes, it's that good. This book made me happy, cry, laugh and just have this warm feeling of wanting to see Willow and Sebastian figure out how to make their relationship work with all the roadblocks in their way. This book was not your typical romance book; it had a unique storyline that I hadn't read before. Even when you thought one of the characters might not be a good person or like how they were treating others, you still wanted them to succeed and get the relationship back on track. I won't lie, this book had me crying at times, but then it had me also having such a warm feeling for Willow and Sebastian's relationship. You'll love this book as much as I did, and if there were a way to give a higher star rating, I would. I was sad to come to the end of the book because I wanted more, but J.S. Cooper once again didn't let me down because she provided a bonus chapter that you don't want to miss, just like you don't want to miss reading this book. BRAVO, once again, J.S. Cooper, another winning book.
Willow dreams of Prince Charming sweeping her off her feet and rescuing her from her Cinderella-esque existence, working in her family’s bed and breakfast, and a second job in the city. When she first meets Sebastian, he’s rude and dismissive, so she’s very surprised when he checks in at the B&B and charms her into going on a date with him. Days later she’s in Las Vegas and married to him and she thinks she’s found the love of her life, but then Sebastian presents her with a contract tying her to him for a year, and threatens to ruin her life and those of the people she loves. Utterly broken and confused by what has happened, Willow signs and finds herself a prisoner in his home, with no clue as to what caused the change in Sebastian and why he is seeking revenge against her. Prepare to be swept up by this emotional rollercoaster of a story where not everyone should be trusted and your sense of injustice on Willow’s behalf will be ablaze. Willow and Sebastian bear emotional scars from their pasts which have shaped who they are. Their connection is deep and real but Sebastian has to deny it in order to carry out his plan for revenge, taking whatever steps he needs to. The problem is, what he needs is Willow.
