Writing Recalibrate was one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Pouring my heart out and sharing my life story with the world for the very first time wasn’t easy, but I wanted people to see the real highs, lows, mistakes, lessons, and growth that shaped me into who I am today.
This book is about far more than gambling, money, or prison. It’s about accountability, resilience, family, mindset, redemption, and learning what truly matters most in life. My hope is that by being completely transparent about my journey, it helps inspire others facing adversity to recalibrate their own lives and never give up on themselves.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, read the book, and been part of this comeback journey. It truly means the world to me!🙏🏻
Recalibrate by Mathew Bowyer is a gripping and surprisingly inspiring memoir. Bowyer’s story of excess, downfall, and redemption is told with brutal honesty and a rare mix of grit and heart. What could have been just a tale of gambling and risk becomes a powerful reflection on choices, resilience, and second chances. What I loved most was how relatable and human the journey felt. The book doesn’t just tell a story; it challenges you to reflect on your own life, mindset, and the way you navigate obstacles and growth. There were moments that were intense, motivating, and genuinely moving all at once.
The pacing was excellent, the storytelling was captivating, and the message behind the book stayed with me long after I finished reading. You can feel the passion, honesty, and purpose woven throughout every page.
This is absolutely a five-star read for me, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful, inspiring, and unforgettable book. Recalibrate is the kind of story that leaves an impact.
It was good not outstanding. The self-help element trying to assist the reader in “recalibrating” missed the mark but an interesting read. Skipped over the Ohtani element a bit lightly for me.
