"Have you smiled recently?"

If there is one thing in this world that makes me super uncomfortable it’s when people smile unnecessarily huge. It makes me think they are guilty and up to something. I just don’t trust it. *shudders*

Volume one has me hooked. I love that creepy feeling that this brings, a cult that smiles is terrifying and the pages add even more intense insanity as the story progresses. The end had me desperate for more.

I cannot wait to see what is in store for volume two!

so unhinged and dark.
It revolves around a cult of happiness called the Shinsou Society (talk about toxic positivity) and a depressed journalist who lost it all and is struggling to get by. This manga is a curious one. It’s creepy, but the art is beautiful. I also want to know more about his daughter and what happened to Megumi. It’s a melting pot of mystery and horror, for sure. I want more!!!

No sé qué es lo que no me acaba de convencer de este manga. No sé si cuenta demasiado o demasiado poco. Quizás es que el enfoque parece un poco demasiado simplón: secta + historia trágica que se adivina + conspiración del silencio en todas partes porque la susodicha secta es en realidad MUY poderosa = uy, cuidadito, señor protagonista, ¿no ve lo inquietante que es todo? Me pasa algo parecido con el dibujo, tiene una indeterminación que no se sabe si es intencionada, unas deformaciones en la anatomía de los personajes que pueden parecer torpes pero que seguramente son conscientes y expresivas. Veremos cómo sigue.

L’ambiance globale du manga est plutôt creepy, voir même malaisante par moment, notamment lorsque nous avons les gros plans sur les partisans de « l’église du sourire éternel ».

Le premier tome est une bonne entrée en matière, et on rentre assez facilement dans l’histoire. On se pose beaucoup de questions, probablement autant que notre protagoniste principal!

J’ai hâte de découvrir les prochains tomes!

A MUST READ for cult horror fans!

If you're looking for a bone-chilling mystery that will keep you glued to its pages, this is it.

The plot follows Yuushi Kamone, walking us through the day of a man who has lost... everything. How things aren't going so well in his personal life, and ultimately, the eerie people at his doorstep asking him to join their religion. The mystery unravels in a way where each page raises your stranger danger level.

Until you figure out... something isn't adding up.

This story has a way of enveloping you in its world by putting you in Yuushi's shoes. From the initially clean art style, to the more unhinged panels with more aggressive lines--as if to represent insanity itself. To the use of bright white and minimal shading in some scenes, as well as Yuushi's own expressions. It's a fantastic narrative feat.

There are clues littered everywhere, yet you can't piece it all together just yet. For every question story answers, three more take its place. And you just can't get enough of it! Really enjoyed this story, 10/10!

Introductorio como primer tomo, pero ese final deja con todas las ganas de seguir avanzando. Sectas, desapariciones, asesinatos y un periodista que se esta metiendo donde no le llaman para dar con el paradero de su mujer.

I was so curious when I saw the announcement of this manga so I bought it without really knowing anything except it was about a cult.

The whole manga was soooo creepy, there was this dark and twisted feeling that wouldn’t go away.
I’m so interested about knowing the next part and more about the cult and why does it exist.
The drawings are beautiful and I loved the expressions of the characters.

I’m definitely gonna continue it !

Tellement fluide comme lecture mais wow un page Turner ! L’art style est vraiment très style japonais avec des traits partiellement réaliste. J’ai vraiment kiffé l’aspect des versets à chaque chapitre ✝️
Les récits sur les sectes vraiment trop ma came surtout ici c’est complètement barré c’est un genre de « don’t let know your next move »

"Смійся, і весь світ сміятиметься разом з тобою" — саме такими словами зустрічає читача манґа «Усміхнені». Доволі хороша думка, чи не так? Все ж логічно — посміхаєшся ти і посміхаються тобі. Тільки ось після прочитання цієї історії ви зовсім по-іншому глянете на таку природну для людини емоцію, як сміх…

Камоме Юші — журналіст-фрилансер з важкою долею. Два роки тому померла його дочка, а згодом дружина не витримала горя і просто зникла. Тож тепер Камоме пише другорядні статті про айдолів та хоч якось старається триматись на плаву. Одного разу в двері його помешкання постукало двоє. Представились як члени культу «Спільнота щирих усмішок», ледь не силою вручили буклет, на якому чоловік впізнав свою колишню дружину.

Тепер Юші не може залишити цю справу. Інтернет не видає жодної інформацїі про дивну організацію, а всі, у кого чоловік намагається розпитати про “усміхнених”, наполегливо радять покинути це. В Камоме не залишилось сумнівів — тут щось нечисто, і йому обов’язково потрібно розібратись з усім та зустрітись з дружиною.

Тож журналіст приєднується до культу під фальшивим ім’ям та намагається втертись до віру керівниці місцевого філіалу. І поки чоловік бере участь в моторошних ритуалах, поза стінами культу починають коїтись дивні речі — поліція натрапляє на тіла трьох людей без облич. Чи зможе Камоме дізнатися, що приховують ці люди за широкими посмішками?

Манґа «Усміхнені» — страшна. Мені було вкрай тривожно під час прочитання цієї історії, а фінал першого тому мене настільки вразив, що побачене довелось перетравлювати декілька днів. Але наскільки ж це круті відчуття! Моторошний детектив з похмурим стилем зображення та цікавими персонажами — ідеальна манґа для поціновувачів подібних історій.

Тепер з нетерпінням чекаю другий том, бо обривати на самому цікавому місці — просто злочин! Однозначно рекомендую манґу тим, хто полюбляє страшні та детективні історії. Виявилось, посмішки бувають до біса лячні…

✝️ Debo dejar reposar este primer tomo, sin embargo lo categorizaría como un thriller psicológico en el que entra en juego un elemento tan aparentemente inocente como es el de la religión.

✝️ El protagonista sufre la pérdida de su hija y la desaparición de su mujer. Mientras intenta encontrar una explicación sobre el paradero de su esposa, aparece en su vida la ‘Hermanadad del corazón sonriente’ donde la máxima aspiración para sus integrantes sería la felicidad. No obstante, este hecho está relacionado directamente con su investigación.

✝️ Por tanto, decide adentrarse en las entrañas de esta extraña congregación… Y hasta aquí puedo leer. Escenas perturbadoras, expresiones inquietantes, ambientación sectaria. Es una serie oscura, que ha comenzado con muy buen pie. La lectura pasa rápido, sin unos diálogos excesivos ni demasiado recargados. Aunque concisa y bastante gráfica, existe un antes y un después a partir de cierto cambio de página.

Comencé a leer este manga porque la idea sonaba bastante interesante: Un reportero encuentra en la foto del folleto de una secta, a su esposa desaparecida hace dos años. Para volver a dar con ella se sumerge en el grupo y comienza una investigación tan atolondrada que la verdad, convierte a la historia en una trama que en realidad no logra sostenerse. En primer lugar, el relato no tiene ritmo, va tan rápido de un punto a otro que no te la crees. El editor del reportero y la misma policía parecen saber de antemano bastante sobre la secta porque le dicen de buenas a primeras al tipo que mejor no se meta a investigar eso. Obviamente, el tipo entra pero con tal descuido y tan forzado que te parece difícil que no lo detecten el primer día.
El estilo de dibujo se me hace apresurado y sin consistencia, en verdad no ofrece mucho... y es tal vez por todo esto que se lee rápido. ¿Leeré el siguiente? Pues bueno, ya lo tengo...

OMG es el tipo de thriller oscurito y turbio que necesitaba.
Una nueva religión que hace a sus feligreses reír y reír, buscar las mejores sonrisas. ¿Qué puede salir mal?
Con un dibujo muy limpio consigue generar escalofríos con algunos planos, un malestar ambiental, no defrauda.

故事節奏推得飛快，的確讓人停不下來地想看下去。但要說故事的轉折或爆點驚不驚奇？其實一般。而節奏的快進讓角色心理、故事氛圍與細節稍嫌不足，加上分鏡的處理單一（我最不喜歡之處）、「笑顏」的筆觸也不特別突出，就令《笑魘》第一集止在娛樂取向的恐怖懸疑漫畫，無法真的有哪部分能走進讀者內心，包括恐懼。不過還是會想看下去就是，也相當適合作為炎炎夏日的涼爽讀物。還是推薦！

M’ha encantat. Recorda una mica altres thrillers com Museum. Visceral, violent, vibrant. Ganes de llegir els següents (vaig pel tercer). Un punt positiu, la sèrie està acabada i són només 11 volums.
