This is not happening. It isn’t. I rebuke it. ALL FLIGHTS CANCELED. Vida is stuck at the airport in a snowstorm, and there’s only one hotel room left. The problem is, it’s one of two adjoining rooms—and the door between them doesn’t lock. At least the two guys next door are hot as hell. Vida’s pretty sure Wren and River want her like she wants them—but they might want each other just as much. All it takes is a broken shower and a game of pool, and all bets are off. Vida knew her ex was an idiot; now she might get to live the why choose she’s wanted all along.
All I Want for Christmas is Two is a spicy MMF Christmas novella featuring a woman hot off the heels of a breakup, and two best friends who might need a catalyst to realize what’s been in front of them all along. Swords cross and a bi awakening is had in this high heat, quick burn, festive triad romance!
Evita Wren is an indie romance author. She writes heartfelt, spicy, and occasionally funny contemporary (for now!) romance designed to hurt your feelings a little before you get to that sweet HEA. She enjoys crafting relatable and realistic emotional conflict, character-driven intimacy, and the odd suspense-adjacent twist here and there. Evita’s favorite things to write are witty banter, well-earned spice after a good slow burn, emotionally resonant character arcs, and realistic bodies (you won’t find washboard abs here unless it fits a character’s lifestyle, which is almost never, sorry!). She mostly writes MF contemporary, but also MM, FF, and MMF triad/poly relationships (throuples, if you don’t dislike the term like she does). Her current project is the Edgewater Romance series, beginning with Harper's Landing!
The book equivalent of getting snowed in with your bisexual awakening.
I am not okay after this book — in the best possible way. had me absolutely feral: kicking my feet, grinning like an idiot, and whispering “oh no, I care about them” into my tea.
The spice? Devastatingly good. The emotion? Snuck up on me and ripped my heart. Vida, Wren, and River have insane chemistry — playful, tender, and downright delicious.
This book is pure festive chaos, a bi awakening wrapped in tinsel, and honestly, I want to live in it. 🎄🔥❤️🔥
All I want for Christmas is Two is appropriately titled. Vida is our main female character who is literally just trying to get to a wedding when a snowstorm hits.
Vida, River and Wren end up in the same hotel sharing a DOOR. You know where this is going right?
Well, there are feelings, big feelings with these three. For starters, Wren and River are hockey players who secretly have a thing for one another but never acted on it. Vida is the catalyst for these two to explore the desires they've hidden.
Evita knocks it out of the park with this MMF novella. Heck, I love everything she writes but this one had layers of feelings and not only acknowledging them but talking them out.
Thank you to the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
This holiday read is PERFECT if you are wanting small moments of angst, a ton of yummy spice, and a read that makes your heart warm and fuzzy. I really enjoyed the insta lust/love in this one because it felt authentic. I also loved the relationship between Wren and River. They were like two interconnected souls and it was beautiful to read them come (pun intended) together, finally. I felt this book really resonates with anyone who has ever felt different or has been made to feel shame by an ex partner.
In terms of plus size rep, I thought that Vida showed both sides: being confident while also struggling with body image. Her being plus size is made known but doesn’t take on the whole story which I can appreciate!
This book confirmed for me that this is the format I like for my why choose. I'm the first to admit this isn't my usual wheelhouse but I do like to fish around. Sometimes I land in the perfect spot and this was the perfect spot. I love when three become one, not when two become more. This was so good, so sweet, so wholesome, ahh.
When 32 year old Vida is travelling during Christmastime to her sister's wedding she doesn't expect to get stranded in Chicago in a snowstorm. Fresh out of a 4 year relationship that ended bitterly about a difference of opinion on ethical non-monogamy she's feeling beyond defeated when all flights are cancelled. Vida has no choice but to stay in a hotel to wait out the storm. If that weren't bad enough enter in two insanely hot hockey players that have the adjoining room to hers and the door between them doesn't lock. Over the whole situation and not wanting to cause issue everyone agrees it's fine and they go on about their business.
Wren and River (both 36) have been playing hockey together professionally for more than a decade but have known each other twice as long. Wren is the stoic team captain that is known for taking no shit on or off the ice. River is the golden retriever goof ball that just is always bubbly and having a great time. Wren has been in love with River since they were teenagers but never wanted to risk losing the only person that's ever cared about him so he packed those feelings away for another day. He never would have guessed that day would come on the heel of cancelled flights and meeting the curvy brunette with the flower tattoos and cheek piercings that got the room next door.
The way that Wren views these two had me bouncing off the fkn walls omg. "He moves, and beauty follows like he has it on a leash." Excuse me sir, what?! "Gorgeous is a lazy word for her. She's the kind of trouble you wish you could keep, even though you know it could hurt you." I can't. The way he describes both River and Vida made my heart soar. It was like every single moment he spent with them was a moment he was able to breathe for the first time and he wanted to make sure he was consciously aware of it. Wren is the best example of those hurting the worst loving the most. All the pain and trauma of being abandoned in every important way by the people that should have loved him no matter what was morphed into the most pure, encompassing, passionate love that he was able to bleed into River and Vida and watching the healing blossom outward from him after the argument had me ugly crying and smiling at the same damn time.
The way the three of them came together was truly amazing to watch. Wren having these feelings for River for years and years. River realizing he has feelings for Wren. Both of them developing feelings for Vida while exploring their feelings for each other. Vida developing feelings for both of them individually and them as a unit while admiring them coming together. It all just felt so natural and I loved the progression. I love that River never said it felt wrong, actually kept telling himself what they were doing didn't feel wrong it just felt...whatever it was at the time. The love and support that Vida shows Wren while he's trying to verbalize his feelings for River for the first time. The support that the team showed them at the announcement of their relationship. The unwavering support from Aria from beginning to end. The support from River's entirely family and the showering of love that came with not only the three of them together but with River and Wren finally taking the leap. I absolutely adored the nickname aspects between them. How it went from "my boy" to "our boy" and how Wren calls Vida Angel and River calls her Princess but Wren calls River Love and River calls him Baby.
If I could put in a formal request for all 3rd act breakups to be one chapter and then happily resolved I would. I was so sad, SO SAD and then I turned the page and was like oh, hey YAY!!! I want it like that always, please and thank you. 😂
I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting something with so much feeling and emotional validation for a holiday why choose book but damn it, Evita did it again and just blew me out of the water. This author does an amazing job of highlighting very real complex emotional struggles and offering good, healthy solutions for a true path forward. Every single book, every one, leaves me in a raw emotional state and I'm so here for it. I hope everyone is supported as fiercely as Aria supported her sister. 🖤
First of all, Evita Wren has just officially solidified herself as one of my new favorite authors. She’s so talented and her writing manages to be fun, emotional, filthy, and deeply tender all at once. And can we talk about how clever she is? I see what you did there, Evita. 😉 Vida and Wren are two of the three main characters… and together, their names form Evita Wren. The second I caught that, I grinned like a total nerd because it’s such a subtle, self-aware little Easter egg that perfectly fits the energy of the book; flirty, creative, and smart and I am here for it.
From the first page, I was completely pulled in. Vida’s stuck in an airport snowstorm (hello, Christmas chaos), and when she ends up in the only hotel room left, one that adjoins with the rooms of two very hot hockey players and the setup is FILLED with tension. River and Wren’s dynamic is already charged; they’re best friends with that undercurrent of something more neither of them has dared to explore. Enter Vida, and suddenly there’s this explosive spark that lights up every page.
There’s this one scene (IFYYK) where they’re on opposite sides of a wall and can hear Vida getting off by herself. The tension? The anticipation? The heat? SO. HOT. Evita Wren knows exactly how to write desire, the kind that builds, teases, and aches before finally combusting.
What I loved most about this book is that it didn’t feel like just one love story. It felt like two beautiful, messy, intertwined ones. You’ve got Wren and River slowly realizing they’re in love with each other, and then all three of them (Wren, River, and Vida) falling for each other in this genuine, right down to the core of their hearts kind of way. Vida really is the light of this story. Her name literally means life and when Wren points that out in the book, it just clicks. She brings this joy and warmth to both men. She’s the glue, the spark, the heart of the triad.
Also, can we appreciate the aftercare? I am obsessed with how Evita Wren writes it. After all the spice and intensity, she gives space for tenderness, for caretaking, for love that feels real and grounded. She excels at this (my sweet guy Cade did this in The HART Algorithm).
The lines “I want to see her in his jersey” + “I want to see her in mine” live rent free in my head! 🥵
Matteo really IS a clown. Absolute clown behavior. I was so glad Vida ditched that ex because she deserved so much more and she got it, in River and Wren. These two hot hockey players were everything: protective, sweet, filthy, and emotionally available (my favorite combination).
Even though it’s a novella, it didn’t feel rushed or underdeveloped. The story flowed so well and felt perfectly balanced between plot, character connection, and deliciously spicy moments. Evita Wren knows how to build chemistry and emotion in a short span without sacrificing quality.
And the Easter eggs for The HART Algorithm? I was screaming. I loved seeing Cade, Fia, and especially Neve mentioned. My babies! 😭 Cade, my sweet, inclusive king, making sure the algorithm accounted for polycule folks and their preferences when seeking partners? We love a man who understands everyone deserves love and representation. Neve’s cameo was so perfect, and her relationship with Vida added such a fun, familiar thread to the world. I am counting down the days for Neve and Grant King’s book now. Seeing those small glimpses made me ridiculously excited for what’s next.
All I Want for Christmas is Two is the perfect festive novella. It’s spicy, sweet, and super fun, with a triad that oozes chemistry and care. Evita Wren nailed it. I laughed, blushed, and genuinely felt for these characters. It’s a story about connection, about realizing love doesn’t have to fit into neat boxes and about finding joy (and heat 🔥) in unexpected places.
Evita Wren, I’ll be reading everything you write from now on!
Machine Vida has just broken up with her boyfriend on the way to her sisters wedding. Vida had always wanted to open up their duo to a committed triad. She was honest from the beginning about that fact. Matteo said sure, with time, but really meant no, never. Lots of miscommunication and dishonesty. Four years into their relationship when Vida asked again, he says some nasty things ending them. She thought the were both on the same page about eventually adding another equal. “It’s FINE to want different things. Not fine to say what he said.” Neither one should have stayed in the relationship as long as they did. It was messy and emotional. Nothing wrong with wanting something different and knowing what you want. We don’t yuck someone else’s yum. Vida is a friend of Neve Hart (Fia’s sister from the first book). I loved getting a check in to see how they are all doing. We even get to learn about the first trial of the HART app with non-traditional dynamics. You could hear Fia’s snark and Cade’s smart aleck in their responses. Neve is classic her. I love the characters in this world. Aria, Vida’s sister, is so supportive of her sister. She loves her without question and just wants her to be happy. She creates a safe place for her sister to openly to show her love(s). Wren Black and River Emerson are best friends and professional hockey teammates. They get snowed in at the same airport as Vida and end up in adjoining rooms with. (Such gentlemen offering to get other rooms. Comfort and safety first!) Wren is an inked god and openly queer. He has always loved River but didn’t want to mess up what they currently have, and didn’t know how River felt. River has always had feelings he couldn’t place. They figure themselves and one another put together. They take full responsibility for any oversights. This book is great for anyone in their hockey romance era. The team is so supportive of their players. Even the coach was great. Love to see the solidarity! River’s family is a dream come true too. (Remy 🐾❤️)
Suggested reading order to date: 1. The HART Algorithm 2. All I Want for Christmas is Two 3. The KING Review
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
ARC Review- All I Want for Christmas is Two is a spicy holiday romance with a multiple POV, that of Vida Lennox, River Emerson, and Wren Black. Vida has recently gotten out of a toxic relationship where she was essentially told she was “too much” and that her dream of having a loving, ethical non-monogamous relationship was out of the question. As she’s headed to her sister’s wedding, a bad snowstorm gets her flight cancelled leaving her stuck in a hotel room for who knows how long that is adjoined to another room with two dreamy hockey players. Will Vida go for what she’s always wanted or will she let her ex’s opinions and words keeping playing on a loop in her mind to hold her back forever? This was my first polyamorous romance ever and it was a satisfying one for sure. The characters were cute, quirky, and oh-so lovable! I found myself rooting for love because how can you not when the characters are clearly so deserving. One thing I really love about author Evita Wren’s books are that I get a steamy romance in addition to learning new things about topics that I’m not wholly familiar with. She writes so articulately and with such passion and empathy on topics that are otherwise not always up for discussion. I find myself looking forward to each upcoming story and will always recommend her books to anyone who approaches love with an open mind. Overall this was a quick, fun, and spicy read that can be finished and enjoyed in a day.
Favorite quote: “So, I hope you embarrass each other every single day. I hope you take care of each other, even when you want to kill each other. I hope you never stop being weird, loud, or in love. And I hope you both know that nothing in the world could make me happier than standing here and watching you become exactly who you were meant to be.”
Evita Wren has a way of writing real, honest characters. In “All I Want For Christmas Is Two” she takes on a romance with three people. Vida is an artist just off a break-up, and Wren and River are best friends and professional hockey players. The dynamic between the three is interesting. Vida has always hoped for a multi-partner relationship. Wren, meanwhile, has been pining for his best friend for years, but hasn’t pushed for more. River is seemingly oblivious to the undercurrents between himself and Wren. When the three are stuck at a hotel during a winter storm their worlds collide and what starts as a mutual attraction turns into so much more. The characters all have things they have to deal with and watching the three of them navigate their way to a real relationship was so satisfying. There is an abundance of spice in this one, but more than that there are genuine moments and true feelings. The writing is almost lyrical at times. And while I didn’t get much of a Christmas vibe, I did come away feeling the joy of love found and accepted in whatever form it takes. Definitely recommended.
Well excuse me while I fan myself...Holy cannoli was this a spicy little book. All flights are cancelled and now Vida, our FMC, is stuck hoping to make it to her sisters wedding in time, freshly out of a shitty relationship. Enter Wren and River, Hockey Players. This is absolutely not a Hockey Romance, but a Romance that just happens have Hockey MMCs. Wren has been in love with his best friend River for years, but kept it hidden. When Vida enters their lives, and one little spicy night, River starts to question everything he ever thought he knew about who he was. We get to witness River come to terms with his bisexuality, and accept it. Sneaking in the HART algorithm was a lovely touch to bring this book back into the same universe. (Plus, you know, Neve). This was my first non-monogamous book, and I adore Evita and her writing, so who better to step into this world with than with Evita’s words. The way she writes and elicits emotions is surreal. You absolutely will feel all the feels that the characters are going through, all while being taken through an amazing story.
Well I am absolutely obsessed with Evita and her style of writing and how real the characters feel! This novella does not disappoint in spice, angst, easter eggs and yes.. Mateo is a clown!!
All flights are grounded and Vida is stranded in a hotel that has two adjoining rooms with an unlockable door between them! Enter two hot guys, a battery operated interim boyfriend and game of pool and all bets are called off..
Devoured this book whilst wanting it to never end but definitely had no right reading it in the work carpark.. 🥵 Another 5 star read that highlights the importance of communication and safe exploration, whilst leaving nothing unturned within the agreed boundaries. Again.. consent is sexy.. IYKYK.
As always, please check the triggers for this contemporary holiday MMF triad romance but Vida, Wren and River are perfect additions to the world of HART!!
Read as an E-Arc for an honest review but would buy this over and over just to re-fall in love with these three! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
Wow. There’s so much sexual tension in this I don’t even know where to start!
This is one of those books that’s going to live rent free in my head & will be re-reading.
Vida meets Wren & River when their planes get cancelled due to bad weather. When their eyes meet across the airport, they all feel that pull deep down. When they’re transferred to a local hotel whilst the bad weather passes, they find themselves in adjoining rooms - with a door that doesn’t lock. Wren & River are hockey teammates, purely platonic. Wren has felt a pull towards River for years, although River has kept things neatly filed away.
If I say too much more; I’ll end up ruining the book - & I really don’t want to do that. I spent the whole time smiling, giggling, smirking or shouting encouragement at the three of them.
This is a fast burn, forced proximity love story with a bi awakening, sword crossing & it’s just gorgeous. Highly recommended.
This was a cute, extra-spicy, quick Christmassy read. While there’s a strong insta-love vibe, I feel like we still get to know all three characters — Vida with her insecurities, Wren with his troubled past of rejection, and River, so open and trusting yet so new to love. I really enjoyed how quickly the romance built, the drama that comes from learning to trust new people, showing your flaws, and finding the strength to build something that can last.
The story was short and sweet but packed with deep feelings and meaningful themes. A perfect read if you’re in the mood for something low-stakes yet heartfelt that leaves its mark.
When Vida’s flight gets canceled days before Christmas, she ends up stranded in a hotel room with one big problem: the door between her and two gorgeous hockey players doesn’t lock. What follows is a snowstorm of tension, laughter, and an awakening that’s as emotional as it is scorching.
Wren and River’s friendship has always had an undercurrent of something more, and Vida’s arrival is the spark that forces them to face it. The chemistry between all three is electric. It's playful, tender, and absolutely fantastically filthy. Evita Wren writes connection and consent so beautifully.
Despite being a novella, the story feels full and satisfying, balancing fast-burn heat with real emotional growth. Wren’s quiet yearning, River’s sunshine charm, and Vida’s confidence blend into a triad that just works.
Oh my ...this one blew my (xmas) socks off. Brilliant writing, searing passion, just a really great storyline that keeps you engaged. I literally read this overnight. COULD.NOT.PUT.IT.DOWN.
First of all, there's the literary edging from Vida imagining all the things that she wants the sexy men to do to her, even before they're properly acquainted. Then, there's the reality of the 3 of them together - which is just sheer fire & combustion.
So many diverse themes woven into this narrative, and they were all handled with so much care and grace.
This novella was everything I want in a holiday read — quick, spicy, and packed with swoony chemistry that warms you up faster than a mug of hot cocoa by the fire. ❤️🔥
Vida, River, and Wren had sparks flying from the moment they met. The bi awakening, the soft emotions mixed with absolute heat, and the festive chaos? Chef’s kiss. I adored how it tied in glimpses of past characters while giving us a perfectly wrapped-up (and unwrapped 😉) holiday story.
Well I'm officially reading nothing but Christmas smut for the next 3 weeks! This was a great start. I do think the Bi-Awakening/friends to lovers side of things overshadowed the throuple, but the chemistry and spice was off the charts. Also top tier yearning 🫣
The end was far too cheesy, she didn't follow through with Wren topping River, and the miniscule third act break-up (in a novella no less) was just plain annoying. But otherwise I liked this 😈
This book is poly perfection!! It's fifty percent spice that reads almost like er×tic poetry that draws you in and keeps you captivated, and fifty percent discovering newlove and human connection done in such a considerate way that does justice to ethical non-monogamy. I adore Vida, Wren, and River and my only complaint is that the book isn't twice as long because I was not ready to leave their beautiful story behind!
Meh this was alright and pretty spicy but like I just didn’t care about it??? Maybe I just don’t like Christmas romances or something but every one I’ve read lately has been just okay. The relationship was sweet but it all happened SO FAST. Like the quickest instalove ever. Also some of the writing felt repetitive but also a little preachy about their relationship dynamic??? Idk
This was such a fun book, I love the style she writes, it was a fun little pallete cleanser after some pretty hard hitting books for me. If you need a good little read and something to get your mind off the mundaine stuff, Check this book out!
I don’t read poly books very often, but this one was so fun. The chemistry between the characters, especially River and Wren was 🔥 I liked the fact that multiple sides of family/friend acceptance are represented and no true third act break up. Overall really enjoyed it.
This was such a wonderful read. There’s raw emotion, self-discovery, and blossoming relationships. Wren and River are beautiful in their own right but adding Vida into the mix creates a true masterpiece. Sometimes snow storms come at just the right time in life!!
This book was intense. Love a bi awakening. Love MMF. The intimacy in the writing is divine. You can really feel the connection between these three. Really enjoyed this novella and can't wait to read more from this author.
It's really like a 3.75. Objectively, a very well written book, with good spice and an excellent commentary on polyamory. I was just in a slump and struggling to get through anything that wasn't paranormal or dark romance.
