The Auditors by Jay Hirschman uses the tension and high-stakes nature of financial misconduct to create a thrilling story. He put a great deal of effort into creating something realistic with a lot of emotional depth. I was especially impressed with the protagonist’s internal struggles, ethical dilemmas, and their relationships with the other characters. Also, there was ample natural dialogue and meaningful interactions.
While there were many finance/accounting references, a person without such a background can still understand what is going on. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy fast-paced, engaging storylines. This story lingered with me after I finished, and I look forward to Jay’s future works.
