Cat knows what it means to lose everything. First her brother. Then the fragile hope she once held in Logan, his best friend. And finally, herself—piece by piece—in a marriage that left her broken.
Now, newly free, Cat is determined to start over. Her first step back into the world of possibility leads her to an unexpected a date with a stranger at Logan’s bar. Time hasn't dulled the pull between them. But old wounds run deep, and trust isn't something Cat gives easily anymore.
As sparks flicker back to life, she must decide if she's ready to open her heart again-not just to the man who once walked away, but to the version of herself who deserves to be loved.
A story of healing, hope, and the kind of love that waits for a second chance.
4.25 ⭐️ this story mixes the perfect amount of tenderness, levity, and grief. it’s about navigating heartache and knowing your worth. it pulls at your heart strings while wrapping you up in a hug. Ali’s writing style kept this book fun to read while still exploring heavier topics. I loved the undertone of dark humor from our FMC as someone who also uses humor as a coping mechanism when shit is tough. our main characters are endearing and relatable, and the side characters shined just as bright. the spice was sprinkled perfectly throughout the story and the dressing room scene will be living in my mind rent free 🥵
I’m so thankful I got the opportunity to ARC read Cat and Logan’s story, and I cannot wait to follow the rest of the gang in Tidehaven Creek!
Okay where do I even start?! I have so much to say! This Time, Maybe was truly a breath of fresh air. It’s a contemporary romance with tropes like •second chance romance •brothers best friend •secret tattoo It has next level yearning, the best found family, and so much emotional depth! The romance 10/10 but these friendships?!? 100/10 the friend group is chefs kiss but the individual friendships between the guys is so amazing. I love to see healthy male friendships! And the girlhood is just everything. The chemistry between all of these characters was literally jumping off the pages. I was cracking up, I was crying, I was gasping, I truly felt all of the things reading This Time, Maybe and I loved every moment of it!! Also the spice??? So good! I feel like I am super picky when it comes to spicy scenes in a book but the spice was SPICING okay! Reading this book was a whole roller coaster of emotions but I was so there for the ride.
This story also had strong mental health rep! As someone who struggles with their mental health I really appreciate seeing it represented in the books I read. Ali did an amazing job sharing Ryan’s story and the effects it had on his best friend and sister.
Make sure you read the TW’s but if you read This Time, Maybe I just know you are going to love it!!
I am a sucker for a second chance romance. This was such a sweet debut and I look forward to following the author’s growth as she writes more in Tidehaven.
The writing style is conversational and because of that I flew through this book. There is no fluff, everything matters to the story, which I appreciated.
💖 second chance 💖 working through grief 💖 found family 💖 sweet & spicy 💖 female friendship 💖 overcoming trauma together 💖 the bad guy gets his sh!t rocked 💖 praise
I did wonder how Cat’s experiences could have been consolidated into such a tight timeline, but it is possible.
ALSO big props to Ali for writing a well done third act breakup that we knew was coming. I’ve seen so many that come out of nowhere and make no sense, but this book has the perfect use of a third act breakup. It still hurt to read but it was necessary in this story. Well done girly pop!
TW/CW for loss of a sibling, su!c!de, prior domestic abuse and unwanted contact from abuser.

Just finished this and WOW, I can’t wait for what is next. This was a great book, well written, and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read with the perfect amount of spice. I was an ARC reader for this book and I was unable to put it down since the moment I started! 10/10 recommend this read!!
TLDR: I was excited to read to support a friend and her dream in becoming a published author, even though I’m not the biggest contemporary romance fan. Fooled around and fell in love with a contemporary romance novel.
I was so excited to be chosen as an ARC reader for Ali’s debut novel, even though I was up front with her: contemporary romance is not my favorite. Now, that’s not to say I don’t read it. I do. It has just been my personal experience that I have come across very few authors within this particular sub-genre who can really grab me and are able to keep me *highly* invested - typically usually due to character development or plot.
The one contemporary romance author I shamelessly admit I adore? Nora Roberts. I’ve always loved how she writes her characters - especially her men - and fleshes out their personalities, their quirks, their emotions, their humor. The characters in ‘This Time, Maybe’ and how well developed they are reminded me so much of many of Nora’s books that I adore for this very same reason. So if you love Nora or other authors like her? You will love Ali, I promise.
My spoiler-free kudos:
Character Development - The character development is strong, engaging, real, and so very relateable. The relationship dynamics are *chefs kiss* - and I don’t just mean the romantic one. She also made sure to take the time to really establish the supporting characters and their relationships between the main characters that will make you go: “This is so like my friend group”, or “I wish I had a friend group like this!” I love that she did this because the best stories do not (in my opinion) have a Main Character existing in a vacuum; the supporting characters are also (or should be) integral, and I feel too many authors don’t provide enough supporting character development.
Romance and Spice - Ali has crafted a second-chance romance with well-developed and relateable main characters that will have you staring at the pages with heart eyes while kicking and swinging your feet and just making you love love one minute, and then having you sitting up and squealing or leaning alll the way back into your pillow or couch cushions while biting your lip and fanning yourself, because Whew! The spice-to-sweet romance ratio was “Goldilocks” - juuuust right!
Dual POV- The book is read from the perspectives of both main characters, Cat and Logan, and I absolutely adore when authors do this. It makes the story so much more compelling.
Realistic but Tough Life Events - This book does have a trigger warning page. I skipped reading it because I wanted to go in completely blind - and I’m personally glad I did. It all hit me that much harder, in the best of ways.
Ali managed to weave a tale that I think will resonate with many. She tackles difficult life events/issues such as:
* Loss of a loved one to suicide * Depression * Experiencing and getting away from domestic violence and abuse * PTSD from both abuse and military service * Healing after abuse/trauma * How important it is to have a support system * Advocating for therapy * Growing through trauma while also navigating early adulthood
She touched on all of these things in such a real, relatable, but graceful way. She doesn’t shy away from the mess, but tells the story in such a way that will remind readers that weathering these storms and working through them can be difficult, that healing isn’t quick or linear, but perseverance can reap the biggest rewards in the end if you’re willing to fight for yourself and what you want and deserve.
My favorite quote (in part):
“You’re not some delicate, broken thing. You’re all sharp edges and soft roots. Untamable. Resilient. A little wild, but still here.”
My Critiques:
Plot Hole - The biggest plot hole for me was the abusive in-between relationship. While Cat fills in some of the gaps intermittently, it was pieced together in such a sporadic way that left me having more questions than answers.
Rushed Reconciliation/Ending - While by far not the worst by a long shot, I was a little sad the final reconciliation between Cat and Logan wasn’t fleshed out just a little bit more. I feel Logan giving Cat a full, in-depth explanation of his involvement was a missed opportunity that would have made the ending just a bit more solid, and the reconciliation all the sweeter. A true full circle, if you will.
In closing:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - A very solid start for a debut. I can’t wait to return to Tidehaven in the upcoming second book of this series.
This Time, Maybe was the perfect read and came at the perfect time for me, personally. I LOVE a deep, emotional story with complex characters and a gripping romance - and this book delivered!
I can’t even describe how much I adore our main characters, Cat and Logan. Both of these characters have been through some dark times and all I wanted was for them to find their way to a new beginning and back to each other. I loved Cat’s tenacity and sarcastic (yet hopeful) attitude. And Logan was the perfect compliment of dark, mysterious man who would do absolutely anything for the people he cares about. I was majorly swooning throughout this entire book! The chemistry and banter between Cat and Logan was utter, feet-kicking perfection.
I can’t write a review for this novel without mentioning the supporting characters, who I am dyyyying to read further books about. Cat’s friends Mallory and Lana were exactly what I love about female friendship. These women was feisty and so loyal to one another, while continuing to push each other towards positive growth and happiness. I just adored them so much. And Logan’s friends were also green flags all around.
This book feels like sitting down and having a long, soul-searching conversation with your bestie. I looked forward to every moment I got to pick this book back up and continue the story. Please do read trigger warnings before diving in. If you love a deep, gritty, redemptive romance - I urge you to check this one out!
If you’re looking for a touching romance with a story that feels genuine, that handles very difficult topics with both empathy and grace, that sparks joy and tugs heartstrings… look no further! You have found it all in Ali Morgans’s debut novel, This Time, Maybe.
After Cat Jackson suffers the loss of her brother and escapes a traumatic abusive marriage, she is looking to pick up all her pieces and start over again. On Cat’s journey to healing and happiness, an old flame, Logan Wolfe, suddenly re-enters her life. Cat must decide if she’s ready to trust someone again. Will she lower those walls she has spent years building, or will keeping her heart guarded always be in her best interest?
Cat is such a strong and resilient lead character, and oh so relatable. Finding bits and pieces of myself in her was healing, and I think every woman can relate to her experiences in one way or another. Logan is an emotionally mature KING and the master of yearning. He put in the work and I absolutely love to see it! The highs and lows of the experiences of these characters are so well and meaningfully written. You will not regret picking this book up. Thank you Ali for sharing this story and these characters with the world! I already can’t wait to read the future books in the Tidehaven Creek series.
“You refused to break, you still do. You're not some delicate, broken thing. You're all sharp edges and soft roots. Untamable. Resilient. A little wild, but still here."
Wow I was not expecting to finish my August reading month so strong especially while reading a debut novel!
This book was heartbreaking and gut wrenching but also hopeful and romantic. The yearningggg from our man Logan was everything I want in a book. That man was down bad for Cat (as he should be). The trauma our poor Cat has been through is enough for a lifetime and more but she’s still out here fighting for what she wants. I loved her.
Check your TW/CW
I’m giving this a 4.5 star. Only knocking it because the ending/pacing a little rushed but I still loved it and I cried hahahah
If you want a book that will make you feel something, look not further!!!
How is this a DEBUT because it’s literally so good?! I felt this to my core, and I love stories like this. The very real and raw feelings the characters experienced on their journey was beautifully expressed. The friendships and side characters were INCREDIBLE, and I can’t wait to read all of their stories. The dialogue was great and I especially loved the epilogue and bonus chapter 🤭
Ali, I love you so much and I really look up to you for doing the damn thing. You really did it, and having your book on my shelf is the coolest feeling! I’m so proud of you, and I can tell just how much of your heart and soul went into this book. You smashed it 😘💕
Wow, I ate this book up!! All of the emotions in this great story!! Small town, second chance romance that did not disappoint! Also, if you don’t LOVE Logan, you’re lying 🤣
this story follows cat and logan, who we quickly find out have known each other through her brother when things suddenly took a turn for the worst and ended up leaving her feeling confused and alone.
we see the struggle of cat’s “after” and seeing her work through having an abusive ex and anger towards logan for leaving her questions unanswered years ago.
some moments felt slightly rushed to me, but overall i felt like this book was a great starter for the series. if there’s one thing i loved about this book, it’s definitely her friendships with mallory and lana. i NEED to know more about mallory and a special someone 👀
congrats ali to her debut book! can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeve
I loved this book so much! It touches on such important topics but also has everything thing you want in a contemporary romance. Logan is now one of my favorite book boyfriends. Such a great debut novel!
Firstly I want to say a huge thank you to Ali for the opportunity to read this as an ARC prior to her release!
This was brilliant and exactly what I needed it to be - I cried at this book far more than I thought I would.
I will say to check the trigger warnings first before you dive in as there are some dark themes throughout, but all are handled with the appropriate care.
The book follows Cat as she navigates life without her brother, then subsequent life without her best friend, Logan. Remaining in the same small lakeside town, they both navigate life avoiding each other as Cat falls into a turbulent marriage which leaves her fighting for divorce, whilst Logan quietly watches on fulfilling his promise to her brother to watch over her. Two years on from Logan crushing Cat’s heart, their paths cross as she tries to date again…in Logan’s bar.
Although this is a brother’s best friend, second chance romance which are some of my favourite ever tropes, this is definitely not a light and fluffy read.
The writing style is quite chatty and witty in a chick lit kind of way, though the themes of the book are very much hard hitting. It’s engaging and the short chapters keep you hooked throughout. And it was such a relief to know this book hasn’t suffered the curse of the ‘all tell and no show’ that seems to come with a lot of debut indie novels.
The FMC Cat was a realistic 25 year old. She’s raw and real and imperfect but she’s worked hard on herself to be strong, and she’s come out of the other side of a horrific few years with so many scars and a ton of resilience.
The MMC Logan was an absolute sweetheart who truly wears his heart on his sleeve. I absolutely loved the way he built her up when she needed it, but stood back to let her lead when she didn’t.
The dual-timeline of this was handled perfectly, with the ‘flashbacks’ incorporated into the dual POVs of current day scenes, making it very streamlined and easy to follow. And that epilogue?? Talk about a jaw-dropping cliffhanger!
The only thing for me was the ending felt a bit unfinished. I would’ve loved to see Logan explain the whole situation to Cat so they could properly reconcile and move forward with their lives.
We also never really find out how old her ex is or how they properly met and ended up married in such a short space of time, or when exactly the separation happened, which made it feel like I’d started reading a series mid-way through and I was waiting for the penny to drop with the answers to the confusion. I don’t think a prequel is necessary, but maybe just some loose ends being tied up slightly.
I’ll list the tropes and warnings below: - dark romance (ish) - second chance - brother’s best friend - small town - neighbours
Warnings: - abuse - domestic violence - suicide (off-page - we don’t find out how) - gun violence - sexual assault - child exploitation
This is an exemplary contemporary romance! From the jump, I could relate to the depth of the connection and the pain from the rift between the two main characters. I’m a huge fan of angsty emotional love stories, especially second chance romances. This absolutely delivers!
Our FMC is Cat Jackson. We meet her after she’s endured the loss of her older brother and has just recently left an abusive marriage. Living on her own in her hometown, she’s found a fragile peace, and has the support of her best girlfriends Mallory and Lana. She is dipping her toe into the dating pool, when up pops her old flame. She is unprepared for how her heart and her body react to him, and fights it with all her resolve. Their shared past is all tangled up in some of the most difficult moments in her life. When letting Logan back in even a little bit becomes a necessity, it’s such an experience to watch her navigate the emotions that come with it.
Our MMC is Logan Wolfe. He owns everybody’s favorite bar and runs it with his best friends, also helming a men’s PTSD group on the side. Cat is the great love of his life, and when she walks into his bar after two years of radio silence, it upends all the emotional stability he’s created. He feels compelled to warn her about the guy she’s with, but it’s only serving to piss her off. Logan knows what a treasure Cat is, and all he wants is for her to be treated the way she deserves. The scars he carries from the way he ended things with her informs every move he makes now that she’s back in his orbit. He exemplifies a true protector, with self awareness and tenderness for Cat in spades. But with his heart guiding all his decisions, can he see anything else around him clearly?
The beauty of this book is that the world building, the bonds of friendship, the angst, suspense, tenderness, spice.. it all comes together flawlessly. Character development, plot progression.. no notes. 10/10. An incredible debut.
Ali Morgans writes supremely relatable characters and gives time and attention to both the male and female friendships in this book. I can see the side characters as fully fleshed out and am intrigued with them enough to be interested in reading their stories if the series should explore them.
Check the content/trigger warnings on this, our MCs have been THROUGH IT. Their backstory is so deftly crafted and none of it feels performative. The reader gets the full picture over time, with beautifully inserted and timely flashbacks and side conversations. Worth it. Go get this book!!!
A huge thank you to author Ali Morgans for an ARC of her book in exchange for an honest review!
This was such a strong debut! It was giving major Windy City by Liz Tomforde vibes for me. I love a second chance romance and Cat and Logan delivered. The pair has really been through it, especially Cat. After losing her brother, her friend, and also Logan all in a short span of time, it was natural that she was hesitant to trust or open up to him again easily. I loved how patiently he earned her affection back. This was steamy in a great way. I loved all the bar scenes but also the tender moments on Cat's boat and in each other's homes.
This started slow, but as the story built, I was suddenly all in and ended up loving their story. Logan scares me - in a good way? NO one is going to mess with his girl. Eff around and find out. I love how protective he is, even though the weapons freaked me out lol. Given Cat's history, she deserves someone who wants to protect her and go out of their way to make her feel safe. Logan also makes every effort to be accountable for his own actions, something that stands out to Cat because she hasn't experienced this in partners in the past. In Logan, she finds someone not only with a shared history but great chemistry and healthy
I cannot wait to get other stories from this world in the next books! The author did such a good job of introducing Car and Logan's friends and teasing at other stories to come. Cat has great friends and they really show up for her in this book: "But that's one of the best parts of being a girl - the time spent getting ready together before a night out. It makes me feel like we're eighteen again, with no cares in the world." Will absolutely be keeping my eye out for Mallory's story next. I love a good interconnected romance series and this one promises to really deliver on that front.
I do wish the author had just scrapped the opening chapters where Cat and Logan are together. It wasn't long enough to really flesh out their relationship. I think it would have felt more natural to just open in the present day and slowly tell their story and history as the plot unfolded. I also wish a little more detail had been given about Cat's relationship and how she wound up married so quickly after things broke off between her and Logan initially. But - these are minor quibbles.
Just an FYI that this has some major trigger warnings - sexual and domestic assault, PTSD, suicide, etc.
If you’re looking for a contemporary romance, with a very intriguing investigation/crime subplot, you NEED to read this book. I am a sucker for a second chance romance, especially when the characters have true depth to them, and it’s not some surface level misunderstanding that separates them.
Cat is such a relatable FMC just trying to survive life after her brother died, and falling for his best friend, Logan, who inevitably walks away leading her into an abusive, and short-lived, marriage with John.
Naturally, we open with Cat going on her first date post-marriage, and she ends up at Logan’s bar.🤭 Cat is witty, goofy, and always down for some good fun! She has some of the BEST friends a girl could ask for, and her loyalty is unmatched, unless you hurt her, or her loved ones.
Logan, my oh my, Logan Wolfe, the man that you are.👏🏼 When we talk about a man who is unapologetically himself, and down SO bad - he had me crying at the gym - this is what we’re talking about. He’s broody and a little grumpy, but he’s also “look at her and die” to his core; and if there’s one thing about me, I love a morally grey man in a contemporary setting. I think one of my favorite things about him, is just how loudly he loves his friends/community, we don’t often see that from a man’s POV.
The yearning, the banter, the tension, the SLOW BURN, Mallory’s jokes, the emotions this book made me feel?! Truly amazing. The way “The End” popped up on the last page had me weepy because of how great of a book this was. I still can’t believe this is a debut novel! I can’t wait for the rest of the books in this interconnected series; Ali left no crumbs with this one!🤩
*I did receive an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review, plz read trigger warnings before reading*
“You know I cope with dark humor, Logan.” I deadpan.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Shoutout to Ali for writing relatable characters! Me too Cat, me too.
And the man that is Logan? Peak "men written by women".
"Before I leave, I wash my coffee cup because it’s not her job to clean up after me"
(Yes, I highlighted this because I appreciate a man who cleans up after himself) Logan is a swoon worthy book boyfriend. He's an emotionally intelligent man who is down baaad for our FMC, Cat, and treats her like she deserves to be treated. He's just a perfect gentleman while also being an alpha who will throw down for his girl.
The found family in this contemporary was one of my favourite aspects of the book. Tidehaven was such a beautiful setting and it felt like I was there, smelling the salty ocean air. The banter, yeeearning and sweet moments between our MCs was top tier. The spiiiice? 🥵 Hot. The writing was easy to digest and if you've followed Ali on booksta you can see her humor and personality come through in the writing.
There are some heavy themes of grief, intimate partner violence and sexual assault which will make you hate men (but not *all* men) and your blood will boooil. Forewarned.
This is one of the few 3rd act breakups that I've seen executed well! It made sense and I only wanted to throw my kindle a little bit because of it.
If you're looking for a contemporary with sexy forearms, banter, spice, pining and a great found family - check this one out!!
Thank you Ali for the opportunity to arc read for you! Can't wait for the next installment in the series 👀
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Came for the man, stayed for the girl friendships! Every girl needs friends like Cat, Lana and Mallory. So well done! 👏
Also.....Not me crying basically the whole last 5 minutes of the book! I read this book in one session because I couldn't put it down! I was INVESTED.
This debut had so much YEARNING! While Cat and Logan may have been brought together by grief, they fought to come back to each other because of the feeling of home. The love, the hurt, the fear, all of it - was palpable. I think the topics of suicide and mental health among veterans was done tactfully and PULLS at the heart strings.
And that ending?! I need the next one! I enjoyed this so much!
If you love a romantic, spicy, a bit suspenseful, heart-wrenching beach read, I definitely recommend This Time, Maybe!
(Check the TWs - SA, domestic abuse, familial death)
Tropes: 🌼 Second Chance Romance 🌷 Brother's Best Friend 🌸 Found Family 🌺 Small Town 🌻 HEA
I read this book in one day… which is super abnormal for me. Ali did such an excellent job with this story and bringing the emotions and trauma to life. That being said, this book has some heavy topics that include SA, suicide, grief, abuse, trauma, etc. The characters were captivating and her descriptions were so good I truly felt like I watched a movie in my head. The plot flowed so well, and she makes you love all of the side characters so much! I absolutely loved Cat’s friend circle (Mallory is totally every girls BFF!), and loved how there was a small aspect of found family. Don’t even get me started on Logan 🥵 and how she brought out awareness about men’s mental health. He was perfectly possessive while also being so in tune with his emotional side and not caring about stereotypical masculinity. I ate it up. Cat was such a relatable FMC and Ali wrote her so well, I could feel her emotions. She is strong, resilient, and independent but knows when she needs her friends. This was such a wonderful debut novel, I highly recommend!
This Time, Maybe is a beautifully written story that truly tugs at your heartstrings. It takes on themes of grief, heartbreak, and healing with a delicate, deliberate, and deeply compassionate touch.
Cat’s journey is raw and emotional - she’s a woman who has lost so much, including her sense of self, and watching her slowly piece her life back together is both heartbreaking and empowering. Her vulnerability feels so real, but so does her strength.
The connection between Cat and Logan is filled with tension, tenderness, and the weight of their shared past. It never feels rushed or forced; instead, it’s a gradual unfolding, full of longing and cautious hope.
While there are undeniably heavy and sad moments, the story balances them with hope and healing, leaving you with a sense of quiet triumph by the end. This is a moving story of survival, strength, and the bravery required to open your heart again.
I was grateful to receive an advanced copy of this book; all opinions are my own and are shared voluntarily.
For a debut novel, this book was pretty good. I was a little worried about going into a book that dealt not only with suicide but also DV, most of a parent, just a lot of heavy stuff since o tend to shy away from it but Ali wrote it beautifully.
The characters were likable, even the side characters and while you know where the story is headed because romance obviously, the journey to get there was fun.
I enjoyed the writing style because it was simple. No fluff, no filler, no insane town or character names I have to google. It was conversational, easy to Follow, and made reading the book that much better.
Obviously Logan is 🔥 who doesn’t want someone who takes control in the bedroom but will also slap on an apron and be your wine boy? Best of both worlds.
Overall, this book was solid. It’s not necessarily a pallet cleanser of a story since topics are heavy but it still Left you feeling good at the end.
Thank you to Ali for gifting me this arc in exchange for My honest review.
This book has some of my favorite tropes, like second chance romance and forced proximity, so I knew going in I was probably going to be a fan— but what I didn’t expect from a debut author was the emotional depth.
First of all, we need to talk about Logan Wolfe— the man that you are. I will always be here for a protective MMC. Not to mention— The pining and the yearning!
The chemistry between him and Cat was great. On a related note, the spicy scenes were 🥵
The whole extended friend group was so much fun and I can’t wait to see them all in future books!
I will say it does deal with some heavier themes, like SA & domestic abuse, so check your TWs! Ali does a great job of handling them sensitively.
Read if you like: - Second Chance Romance - He Falls First - Forced Proximity - Brother's Best Friend - Found Family - Small Town - Protective MMC
I was chosen as an ARC reader for This Time, Maybe, the debut novel of Ali Morgans. Be sure to check the content warnings before reading - this story deals with heavy topics such as suicide and DV.
Overall, I enjoyed learning about the town of Tidehaven and the people who live there. The characters were engaging and well-developed, and the town of Tidehaven felt scenic and charming.
I did feel like it could have used another round of editing. Some spelling and continuity errors pulled me from the story, but the heart of the book is solid.
I absolutely love how Ali set up her series by introducing new characters in book one and leaving us a teaser for book two at the end. The Tidehaven series is filled with potential, and I'm excited to see what Ali writes next.
If you like second-chance romances, "who hurt you?" MMCs, and beach town vibes, pick up This Time, Maybe on Amazon or Kindle.
She didn’t think she would fall for her brother’s best friend, but after he passed, Logan became that person that Cat could count on. The one who grieved with her, allowed her the space to do so and also helped to protect her heart.
What she didn’t expect was for him to walk away.
Now, two years later Cat is going through a separation and trying to get back into the dating scene. The only problem is that she is meeting her date at Logan’s bar.
Her heart still hasn’t healed with him leaving her, too bad it’s a fickle b**** and still finds him attractive.
Can they become friends after hating him for two years? Will her ex-husband finally give her what she needs? Will her heart finally heal from grieving and allow her to love again?
Thoughts:
Wow, I cannot believe that this was Ali’s debut novel. I found myself on the edge of my seat, sweating, crying and swooning.
Logan, that man 😮💨 I don’t blame Cat for feeling like she was ovulating every day. Because if I saw that man wearing his hoochie daddy shorts, I wouldn’t be able to handle myself either 🤣
The way this book ends made me so excited to read what’s to come. As much as I loved Logan, I loved their whole crew. Cat’s girl friends were hysterical and Logan’s were mysterious and also 🥵. Very excited to see where this series will go.
Thank you so much Ali for allowing me to read this ARC and gush over Logan.
⚠️: There are many heavy topics that are discussed in this book, so make sure you check the trigger warnings.
Debut novel alert!!!! Wow am I just blown away at this story just sucked me in! @lehabahslibrary you freaking did it! It’s sweet and spicy and heavy at times but also so damn relatable. I’m obsessed with a goofy side character and also can’t wait for the next book in the series! Cat & Logan and the whole crew will have you hooked from the start. If this isn’t on your TBR already you need to add it now.
What to expect: • Brother’s best friend • Second chance • Small town • Found family • Enemies to lovers vibes • Forced proximity
Thank you @lehabahslibrary for letting me read this early and for bearing with my technical issues and bad planning 😆 I’m so proud of you!!!
Absolutely loved this book from start to finish! Immediately you are drawn into the book with all the questions, what happened, when did it all happen, how? You want to continue reading to find out! Then when you find out it’s everything you expected and more 😍
These characters have tension insanely thick that you know when it’s cut it will be an amazing scene and when I tell you it actually is, oh my gosh it is! 🤭
The house, the bar, the boat, the beach, anywhere these two are you know something is going to happen! Love them both and cannot wait to read about all the characters as the story continues!
One of my favorite things about this space is watching some of my fav fellow book lovers + content creators work so hard and make their dreams come true - and really kill it the first time!
I was so grateful Ali gave me the opportunity to read her debut book as an ARC- I ate it up! Cat + Logan were 😍😍 and I loved the depth in their story. I was as obsessed with Logan from the get as he was obsessed with Cat..and when you fall for the supporting characters too? Sign me up- can’t wait for more from Tidehaven Creek!
I enjoyed this book! While it had some darker themes, it managed to address them without making it the entire story.
The female friendship was probably my favorite part. I am hoping we get her bffs HEAs in future books because they were hilarious. And I did love how down bad Logan was for Cat, their tension was palpable!!
One thing to note is it written like a stream of subconscious thoughts with a lot of modern vernacular like “crash out” and it took me out of the story a little. If you don’t enjoy super contemporary, this may not be for you.
I haven't read a book in years due to work, being a parent, being too tired, etc. This is the first book I've read for leisure in over 5 years, and I could not put it down! I finished it in one sitting and cannot wait until the next one! I have recommended it to my friends who all say the same. Amazing book, I breezed through it!!!
logan wolfe. just wow. the perfect balance of kindhearted and fearless when it comes to protecting the people he loves. i absolutely loved this debut and can’t wait to see what’s next in the tidehaven creek series. that ending left me needing the next book asap!!
