Inheriting the Storm

Rate this book
A lawyer from Chicago.
A cowgirl with the land in her veins.
60 days to choose the rest of your life.

Camila Vega’s world is contracts, designer suits, and high heels. The last thing she needs is to inherit five thousand acres of dusty land in the middle of New Mexico. The plan is sell fast, take the money, and never look back.

For Liz Harper, that ranch is everything. She was born there, she’s fought for it, and she won’t let some city lawyer—who can’t tell a cow from a dog—destroy it for money.

To her, Camila Vega is the enemy.

From the very first moment, sparks fly. Heated arguments, lingering stares… and an attraction neither of them wants to admit.

Every day brings new an ex who shows up promising a perfect future. A barbecue that gets wildly out of hand. A hidden spring where everything changes. A storm that forces them to work together—or lose it all.

Because the line between hate and desire has never been so dangerously thin.

Mostly great, absolutely worth the read

I'm not the highest fan of present tense, so this might be personal bias, but I think this would have felt like a smoother read in past tense.
Otherwise it was mostly a great read! I enjoyed it, it was easy going, I read it in one sitting.
A flashback scene or prologue wouldn't have been amiss, and I felt the influencers bit could have been a few extra chapters of development and humor, as well as a chance to hit some extra emotional chords and do some more character development all around, but as an easy low drama/low suspense read it's pretty good as is. There's high stakes, things happen, but they happen very suddenly then resolve just as quickly. There's not much mystery or suspense to the problems that arise, but the resolution is quite satisfying and the plot is solid.

nice contemporary read

I liked this read. It was low drama, not in a boring way, just a good easy read. The setting is well done, and the characters are engaging, will come back to this series for sure.

Recomendada

Creo que esta novela demuestra que podemos salir del círculo vicioso al que a veces nos arrastramos donde todos deciden por ti, hasta que de pronto dices: BASTA! Me encantó mucho la historia y la verdad es te deja con ganas de seguir leyendo.
