Snowed In at the Cabin

Rate this book
After Alexandra comes home from another failed interview, she catches her boyfriend of three months with another woman on her couch. She’s officially over the dumpster fire that is her life. She needs to get off the grid, fast. Booking a secluded cabin with no cell service she hopes to get back to her dream as an artist.

James may have seemingly endless funds, but at the end of the day he doesn’t have what he truly craves. After the passing of his father and a ruined past engagement, he’s unconvinced love is in the cards for him. Until her. When Alexandra crashes into his life unexpectedly, she flips his world upside down.

Alexandra arrives at the cabin only to find the owner, James, still inside. With the winter storm raging and all the roads closed, they’re stuck. It seems fine until the power goes out, and they’re left with one bed in front of the fireplace to stay warm. The whole situation seems inconvenient, but with the snow refusing to let up and the urge to avoid James’ deep questions, there’s only one option for Alexandra. Distract him, no matter what she has to do.

Will they be able to stay together when they rejoin the real world and secrets are revealed?

DNF 42%. Why can I not find a decent MF book recently? 😥. This started off badly and just got worse. It’s written almost in the style of a YA novel (ie short, choppy sentences, overly descriptive. Altho idk - that might not be fair to YA novels…sigh) and filled with romance clichés.

Down on her luck, Alexandra quits her job where she was working for the biggest bunch of idiot misongists, only to go home and catch her terrible boyfriend having sex on her couch.

She and her two friends go out to a club where they meet secret billionaire James, who is also there with his two friends having a business meeting. Because having a multi million dollar business meeting at a club makes sense. Oh, and the business guy is there with a call girl. So, yay. Sure, sure. All of that is normal.

He saves her from some drunk guy. She listens in on his business meeting, and then he just takes her home and leaves bc “they could be something more”. But yet, he doesn’t ask for her number or have any way to get in touch with her again. Except - oh wait - they then conveniently and randomly bump into each other all around town. And yet, even though he’s interested, he STILL doesn’t ask for her number.

I didn’t make it to the part with the cabin… and I’m already at 40 %. At this point, I don’t need them to be snowed in together, I just want them to have a normal conversation and go on a date.

Also, if the story is called “Snowed in at the Cabin”, it shouldn’t take 1/2 the book to get them to be Snowed. In. At. The. Cabin. Have the meet-cute, have him leave wanting more, then bingo bango, surprise!! they’re at the damn cabin. I don’t need the scene with the couch, or the pizza place, I definitely don’t need the weird office banter with his friends or her banter with her besties. Skip it. And get us to the damn cabin. In the snow.

The cliches:
- Pretends to be her boyfriend; they kiss at the club.
- He has a faithful driver. bc he’s a billionaire
- both his parents are dead
- her mother is terrible and just wants her having babies married to a wealthy man
- Wacky group of friends for each - and each friend group has the ONS driven extrovert and the calmer more nerdy friend.
- Snowstorm bc of course.
- Friends who are always around: Her friends cancel all their plans/ditch school and work to help her buy a couch. He and his friends then show up out of nowhere in the middle of the day to help her move in her new couch. HUH?
- He also has a terrible, scheming ex.
- He is the ultimate good guy— if the author mentioned one more time about how “assistants are the backbone of any company” I was going to lose it; he spoils his driver and buys his daughter a piano; he also bought books and toys for the local orphanage, etc. etc . We get it. He’s a saint.
- Perfect answers to all problems: She’s an artist and he needs an artist for his business, but of course neither knows that… yet. Also, presumably, this will give him the reason he finally needs to stay in town closer to his family. When really he could just live there anyway. But, idk that’s too easy, I guess. Manufactured problems are so much more fun.

😥🤪😒🫣🙄. I. Just. Can’t.

I read this during heavy snowfall, and let me tell you, the vibes were absolutely immaculate. This story is adorable, fast-paced, and completely bingeable. James and Alexandra are so cute and perfectly right for each other.

I especially loved how Alexandra handles her misogynistic ex-boss and cheating boyfriend at the start of the story; truly boss behavior! She’s witty, brave, and knows exactly what she wants out of life. James, on the other hand, is sweet, helpful, and understandably hesitant about starting a new relationship when we first meet him. Despite his fears, their connection quickly grows into something deeper, something they both want to explore.

Knupp balances humor with deeper themes beautifully, making it easy to instantly connect with both main characters. I absolutely adored the side characters and the found family that naturally forms along the way.

This is the perfect winter themed, feelgood romance

I just LOVED this book. No notes, except perhaps James is too perfect. Minimal drama, HEA guaranteed - just such an easy cosy read. Kelsey is a lovely writer, the story flows beautifully and I ate it up almost in one sitting (unheard of for me!) can’t wait to read more of KP Krupp’s work.

Kelsey thank you for the advanced copy!

Do you love swoon worthy romance? Kick your feet banter? Heart warming found family? Then you need this book.
This book perfectly balances heart stopping cuteness and following your dreams even when its scary.

James is top tier book boyfriend material. Oozing 'You're Mine' vibes with 'Would Burn The World Down For Her'. He falls first and HARD.

Alex is trying to find the courage to pursue her dreams while also battling drama and herself. It is so believable and real.

These characters live rent-free in my head now forever. I stayed up way too late devouring the pages and never wanted this book to end.

Thank you Grey’s Promotions for this Arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was so enjoyable, it was a billionaire romance (which I LOVE) but not dark or mafia-based and I felt like the story moved quickly, there were no plot holes, and I really felt the romance!
This is a more personal thing but I found her friends annoying? Every time there was a scene with them I found myself irritated so that kept me from giving it 5 stars.

Other than that, no notes. I want to go back to the cabin pls

Snowed In At The Cabin is such a fun winter romance read! This story has all the cozy vibes! From the banter to the spice it’s def a nice comfort read on a cozy winter day! Keep in mind this is a quick short read so it’s straight to the point with a splash of drama and fun!
*Fav Quotes:
~“We never know when the end will come for us, so take that risk, Leave the job you hate, Fall in love, And always chase your dreams. If not now, when? This life is worth living, now.”
~“It feels like home looking at it, and if Alex can do that with a simple cabin, I can’t imagine what she could do with the companies we work with.”
~“What’d I say? Would you rather, lover? Hot side piece? Boo thing forever? Or are we jumping right to it and calling me your husband? Because, let’s be honest, that’s where …”
~“Sometimes I come here to talk to him like he’s still lingering. Like he can still hear me and give me advice. The sound of his voice floats on the wind, and if I listen hard enough, I can hear him. Or at least it feels like I can.”
*Fav scenes: The cabin Encounter. James and Alex’s mom. Epilogue. IYKYK

3.5 🌟

- He falls first and harder
- Billionaire romance
- Forced proximity
- No owd / cheating

h walks in on her boyfriend cheating, and goes out the same night - in a hoodie and tights - where she meets the H who’s instantly interested in her.
When she rents a cabin, guess who owns it at gets stuck there with her because of bad weather?? That’s right, the same guy from the club neither has stopped thinking about.

Safety:
- H have been engaged before, 5 years ago, with a woman who used him. He said that she early kept asking for a ring on her finger. He said her betraying him had hurt him, but not more detail - got the feeling that it was more about the fact that people used him for his money more than that he loved her.
- He haven’t been with anyone since they broke up, 5 years ago.
- h walks in on the bf cheating in her apartment, they had only been dating 3 months. She was more angry that he did it on her couch than the fact that he cheated.
- Both experienced.
- No owd, small omd with her ex

Alex + James

Snowed In at the Cabin is a delightful read. From the beginning we see Alex(andra) deal with a lot of negative things but she keeps bumping into James (call it fate?). He helps her out and then they end up in a cabin together, hence the title of the book.

Alex's mom is pushy and overbearing when it comes to getting her to settle down and marry. She was dealing with a lot at her job and decided for a reset and recoup (aka she quits).

James is dealing with overseeing his company & he doesn't really hide who he is... he just never mentions his last name until near the end which I get. There isn't a break up between our MCs, the communication is solid and we get a HEA.

Overall, Snowed In at the Cabin is an easy read with characters that I feel are interconnected just as much as the story is and everything is resolved in a timely fashion.

Thank you to the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

A super sweet, swoon worthy cozy romance ❤️

Off the charts laugh out loud banter, great chemistry and friends/found family perfection ❤️

James is super hot, golden retriever, secret billionaire who helps Alex out on the worst day of her life and he never plans to let her go ❤️

This is such a quick fun cozy winter read with all the makings of a (spicy) hallmark movie that you need to add to your TBR immediately ❤️

I cannot wait to read Jaz and Ashlyn's stories and I need lots more of Ryder too 🫠

Thank you K.P. Knapp for the fantastic ARC opportunity

Such a fun read for a winter escape with cozy fire scenes, charity events, secret billionaire from humble background vibes, and a fun friend group to tag along with. Parts read more like a movie than a book to me, and I would have loved to see more of Alex’s talent described. It made me want to get snowed-in at a cute cabin!

Unfortunately, the characters and writing lacked depth for me. The story relied heavily on insta-love, with an “I’m in love with you” moment after the characters had known each other for barely a week, which made the romance feel rushed and unconvincing.

The plot also leaned into very stereotypical tropes, a damsel in distress and a male lead who swoops in to save her, without adding much nuance or originality. Overall, the book had strong Wattpad vibes and felt quite youthful in tone. While some readers may enjoy that style, it didn’t resonate with me, and I don’t think this will be a particularly memorable read.

I quite enjoyed this one! Definitely a fast paced one as it’s on the shorter side but I enjoyed it!
I’m definitely curious for other character’s stories and I will be reading them🙂‍↕️
As much as I enjoyed the story, however, I do think there were a few plot holes but it definitely didn’t ruin it for me 👀

I was expecting a cute romance in the snow, and I got so much more!

I really liked the character development of both sets of friends, and the quick, but believable, progression of their relationship.

I would LOVE to see more of these characters in future books.

Definitely recommend for a cozy, spicy read.

AHHHHhhh -- I love an insta-chemistry cozy romance with such cute characters and dynamics! This was freaking ADORABLE. I'm not a huge cozy reader but KP Knupp nails it every single time for me. I just love that it isn't entirely so cozy there isnt some sort of drama happening. It helps it feel more real. The story is so warm but the plot still feels fiery and emotional. I love that it has that extra spirit. Such a magical quality to it all. KP has sold me on the snowed in trope too, because holy hotness. You even get such vulnerable and tender moments, I never felt it moved too quick. My husband and I, also had that fiery love at first sight so it all resonates with me. Really well done and super cute story!

Snowed In at the Cabin is an absolute blast! If you’re obsessed with found families, chasing your dreams, cozy romance, and all those swoon-worthy tropes like forced proximity and the guy falling first (and falling hard!), you have to pick this one up.

Alex is a charming, relatable character. She ditches her dead-end job to go after her passion as an artist and designer, and her determination is seriously inspiring. You’ll cheer for her every step of the way, because she’s just that real and completely lovable.

And James? He’s not your typical arrogant billionaire. He grew up humble, loves his family fiercely, and is just the kind of guy you wish existed in real life. When he falls head over heels for Alex, it’s epic. His possessiveness and confidence that they’re meant to be is off-the-charts intense (in the best way!) There’s just something magnetic about a guy who knows what he wants and goes for it, and James delivers in spades!

The found family in this story are absolute perfection! They bring laugh-out-loud banter, crack jokes at just the right moments, and are always ready with heaps of unconditional love and support. Seriously, you’ll wish you could join their crew!

I have feeeeelings about this book so if you want a short review, this isn’t it! To start, it was SO NICE to read about characters that are not 18 and fresh out of high school, that actually have some life experience and emotional integrity (late 20's, early 30's). James & Alexandra were a breath of fresh air in that sense, which made them so much more relatable!

The character development was very well done, which made the story progress smoothly and in a way that both captured my attention and made the spicy scenes that much more meaningful to the plotline.

Alexandra is a witty, smart, and caring character that loves her friends, has a strained relationship with her mother, and doesn't trust men because of DUH her cheating ex & a history of jumping into relationships with losers. Her leaving her toxic job and fighting to chase her dream is inspiring, though with today's economy REMEMBER FRIENDS -- this is a work of fiction LOL. Anyway, she didn't come off to me as a whiny, silver platter kind of girl. She works, she saves, and she resets her mind and approach at life to attempt pursuing her dreams. LOVE IT.

James is RICH rich, but also humble and remains linked to his small-town roots. While I don't believe many young, rich entrepreneurs are like this in real life, it really helps to understand his mindset and the passion he has behind his business in "helping the little guy". The way that he just can't help but be drawn to Alex is so cute and golden retriever coded, but his respect for and protectiveness over her had me in a chokehold.

The supporting characters, Alex's friends Ashlyn and Jaz are fun, chaotic (in the best of ways) and completely supportive of her as any true friend group should be, and Jame's cousins Ryder and Alester are broody, passionate about their company, and care for James in ways that others can’t/wouldn’t understand. The connections between each of them and the chemistry between characters and the friend groups as a whole is so fun!

There are some spicy scenes which were well placed, but they weren’t super detailed or lengthy. I’d give this a 2/5 on the spice rating. I felt like these scenes flowed well with the overall plot, drove some character development between the FMC & MMC, and were tastefully done. I did however, DESPISE the repeated use of the phrase “ball of nerves” … like it actually made me crazy. Besides this, enjoyable.

The book is shared as a HEA without any kind of third scene breakup, which I can appreciate because that is sooo overdone. The pace of the plot is quick but easy to follow, the scenery and locations are described well and the slow burn chemistry between James and Alex throughout is to die for. Do I recommend this? Absolutely. This is my first 5 star read of 2026 and I cannot wait for everything else to come from this author!

TLDR: Snowed in at the Cabin was a plot/character driven, fast-paced, slow-burn, engaging and adorable read that I will be recommending to everyone within the internet's radius the rest of this year!!

What a fun and enjoyable read, Snowed in at the Cabin, by KP Knupp was. I was immediately pulled into this cozy romance that gives off wonderful winter vibes, but a romance that brings the heat. KP combines witty banter, unavoidable proximity, and instant chemistry perfectly throughout her book. I was happy to get lost in this story while curled up under a cozy blanket, sipping a hot drink. The only thing missing was a cackling fire of my own.

Alex may not fully love where she is at in life right now, but she definitely knows her worth and what she doesn’t want. Coming home from a terrible interview and catching her boyfriend with another woman is the last straw. She needs a break and a secluded cabin with no cell signal sounds perfect! She is going off grid to everyone except herself. I loved Alex’s zestiness! She is resilient and determined. Yes, she’s gotten off the path she wants for herself, but she is going to find her way back.

James hasn’t had to worry about money for sometime, but he knows money can’t buy him everything. He desperately wants a partner, but no luck so far. Maybe love isn’t in his future. While preparing his cabin for the renter who just booked, he soon realizes that Alex is his renter. They’ve met a few times, but now there’s no way to go their separate ways. A heavy snowstorm has made it impossible for either to leave, but James isn’t sure he wants to. James is sweet and down to earth. He doesn’t flaunt his money and has great family relationships.

These two together could easily melt the snow around the cabin. KP has written such amazing characters that truly compliment each other well. Ensuring they both get to know each other for them, James feels seen for him and not just his money. As the snowstorm continues outside, inside the cabin the chemistry between these two just continues to grow. I loved everything about this book and highly recommend it!

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Thank you K.P. Knupp and Grey's Promotions for this delightful story. I literally devoured this book in a couple of hours. I just could not put it down. It kept me hooked because I just wanted to know more about them. I loved James (like can he be real please). I love how his heart is at the right place and is an ethical billionaire (like swoon). I wish we got to see more of that side of him. The side that loves to give to charities (cause I wanted to see Alex see that side of him too). I love that no matter how much money he has, he knows that there are others that need it more.

I loved Alex. I love how she finally stood up for herself and left the place that wasn't going to get her to fulfill her dream (literally her ex bosses were such horrible misogynistic a**holes). I love that even though she was stressing about money, she never let it hurt her relationship with her friends. She made a plan for herself and completed that plan. I love that she pulled herself up from her bootstraps and did what she needed to do in order to get herself back in the job pool.

I loved them together and I loved how fate kept bringing them around each other. I do wish that we got more personal insights and conversations with each other before things got steamy. But I do love that James lets her be herself and figure out when she wants to open up and let him in.

My favorite part of this book are the side characters! I loved Ryder, Alester, Ash and Jaz. They were literally so perfect as friends and supporters of James and Alex. Like no matter what happens in life, they are there for each other every step of the way. I love how they show their love for each other and how funny they are together. I love their banter and I love how they are all different characters (not copy and paste and just there to continue the plot). I cannot wait to learn more about them and read their happily ever afters.

Overall, if you are looking for a fast, cozy, billioniare, found family with emotional depth book, then this is the one for you.

❄️ One bed, one week, one billionaire… and a whole lot of feelings ❄️

3.5 ⭐️ | 1.25 🌶️

Snowed In At The Cabin was my first K.P. Knupp read, and I’ll start by saying this: if you love cozy, trope-filled romances with forced proximity, fake dating, and a dash of spice, this one will absolutely be your vibe.

Alexandra “Alex” Lewis is having a spectacularly bad week: passed over for a promotion (again), quitting her job in frustration, and catching her boyfriend cheating. Enter James Edward: mysterious, wealthy, constantly popping up in her life and, surprise, the owner of the secluded cabin she impulsively books to rediscover her creativity. Then comes the snowstorm, a power outage, and the classic one bed by the fireplace setup.

The story is cute in that unapologetic, insta-love kind of way. There’s flirty tension, soft emotional beats, tiny plot twists, and just enough heat to keep things interesting (though the spice stays on the milder side). Knupp’s writing is smooth and easy to sink into, making this a quick, comforting read that’s perfect for a wintery mood.

That said, the timeline was a little too fast for me personally. We’re talking about knowing each other for barely a week before major life decisions and “I love you” declarations happen and I struggled to fully connect with Alex or emotionally invest in the relationship because of that. A few word choices in the spicy scenes also pulled me out of the moment just a bit.

Still, I totally understand the hype. This book hits several beloved romance tropes and delivers exactly what many readers are looking for: escapism, charm, and a swoony billionaire cabin fantasy. It just didn’t quite become a new favorite for me.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for the e-ARC, and congratulations to K.P. Knupp on the upcoming release (January 20th)! If you’re in the mood for a snowy, cozy, fast-burn romance, this one is worth checking out.

Spicy, Cozy, and Addictive: I Devoured This in One Sitting!
I absolutely devoured Snowed in at the Cabin in one sitting! KP Knupp has a lovely, fluid writing style that makes the story move effortlessly from the very first page. We meet Alex on the ultimate bad day: she’s passed over for a promotion due to office politics, quits on the spot, and walks home to find her boyfriend cheating. This "burn it all down" moment is the perfect catalyst for her to finally pursue her passion as an artist.
When Alex retreats to a cabin to reset, she’s surprised to find James—the magnetic CEO she met at a club—who also happens to be the owner. James is such a refreshing hero; he’s a humble billionaire who is fiercely protective and completely "all-in" when it comes to Alex. While he might be a bit "too perfect," his confidence and devotion are totally magnetic and exactly what Alex deserves after everything she’s been through.
The cabin chapters are the perfect mix of spicy and cozy, but the story is truly rounded out by the incredible "found family." James’s cousins provide laugh-out-loud banter and unconditional support that makes the world feel so real. This is a beautiful, low-drama, "cosy winter read" with a guaranteed HEA. I can’t wait to read more of Kelsey’s work!
Read this if you liked: It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey
If you loved the "city girl" starting over in a new environment and a protective, obsessed hero who falls first and falls hard, you will adore this book. It captures that same magnetic chemistry and "choose yourself" character growth that made Tessa Bailey's hit so addictive.
Content Note
This is a low-angst, high-comfort read. It contains scenes of infidelity (by the ex-boyfriend, not the main couple) and open-door intimacy that is spicy but focused on the emotional connection.

Words that linger
🍷“I had no idea I had to wave my money at him like a stripper to get him to give me a drink.” A laugh bubbles out of my mouth before I can stop it. “You hit up strip joints often then?”

🍷I’m a patient man. I have the time, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t help her figure out what she wants. Me.
🍷“Yes, because however much time it takes, I don’t care how long. You will be mine. It’s inevitable. We are inevitable. I’ve known since that night in the club.”

From the very first page Snowed In at the Cabin pulls you in and keeps you hooked. Alexandra’s journey begins with heartbreak and disillusionment, a feeling that hits deeply in today’s fast-paced and overwhelming world. Her decision to escape to a secluded cabin, seeking solace and a chance to reconnect with herself as an artist, really sets the stage for a story that is as much about self discovery as it is about unexpected love.

The chemistry that builds between them during their time stuck in the cabin is electric, but it’s the moments of vulnerability and honesty that truly make their relationship shine. Watching them navigate their fears and desires amidst the snowstorm is both heartwarming and exhilarating.

The banter is sharp and witty and helps bring the characters to life while also highlighting their emotional struggles. I especially loved how Knupp skillfully intertwines humor with deeper themes of trust and healing, making the narrative feel balanced and satisfying.

The tension builds beautifully as Alexandra and James confront their pasts and the realities that await them outside the cabin. The ending left me both fulfilled and yearning for more.

Snowed In at the Cabin is a spellbinding read that captures the essence of love, resilience, and the journey to finding oneself. It’s a delightful reminder that sometimes, life’s most beautiful moments happen when we least expect them. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone looking for a heartfelt escape into a world where love blooms amidst the snow.

Thank you to Grey’s Promo and K.P. for providing me with a copy of Snowed in at the Cabin! As always, my opinions are my own.

Ok seriously!!! This book was so freaking cute! Billionaire romance, he falls first, forced proximity, and sprinkled in spice 🖤. James and Alex had me all gushy. I couldn’t help but wish for their HEA from the get go. Plus who doesn’t love a good forced proximity and spice to liven up your life. These two have their own hurt they are processing, but a very fun snowed in experience lets them realize they need to have fun. And boy do they 😂. Their attraction grows along with this deep connection they can’t explain. He’s not a pushy guy when it comes to her but he’s more than happy to let her know his intentions. Alex is just trying to find her footing and place, but can’t help feel the tug when she’s around James.

Please oh please!!! Tell me that we are getting Ryder and Alester with Jaz and Ashlyn soon!!! They had me in a chokehold. The supporting characters all need their own stories 🖤.

Alex is the girl who has a wild spirit and fiery soul. Trapped in a job that doesn’t care for her she goes out to find herself. I loved this about her, she knows she has more to offer and now can go find it. She’s surrounded by people that will support her and I love that she has that!

James is your traditional billionaire heartthrob that you just melt for. He cares deeply but has been hurt in the past. He’s guarded and buries himself so deep in his work that he needs someone new to awaken him. And boy does he awake! I need a man to who can make me a pile of goo with just a kiss 😂. He knows what he wants and goes after it.

Snowed In at the Cabin by K.P. Knupp

There’s something quietly addictive about a romance that knows exactly what it’s trying to be—and Snowed In at the Cabin delivers that cozy, snow-globe magic with surprising emotional depth.

The setting is hands-down one of the strongest parts of this story. The secluded winter cabin, heavy snowfall, and forced proximity create the perfect cocoon for tension and tenderness to build. It’s atmospheric without being overdone—you can almost hear the fire crackling in the background while the snow keeps the rest of the world at bay.

The characters feel refreshingly grounded. I especially loved how the heroine’s creative soul contrasts with the hero’s more reserved, steady presence. Their dynamic unfolds naturally—no unnecessary dramatics, just quiet moments, meaningful conversations, and a slow realization that what’s growing between them is real. The hero, in particular, is the kind that sneaks up on you: thoughtful, observant, and emotionally present when it counts.

The pacing is gentle but intentional. This is very much a slow-burn romance, but it never drags. Each chapter adds another layer—whether it’s emotional vulnerability, shared history, or that delicious tension that comes from being snowed in with someone you can’t stop thinking about.

Overall, this is the kind of book you pick up for the vibes but stay for the emotional payoff. Cozy, romantic, and quietly satisfying—perfect for winter reading or anytime you’re craving a soft, cabin-set escape.

ARC Review:

Snowed in at the Cabin by K.P Knupp
5⭐️

Absolutely devoured this book in 2 days! A swoony romance, which will have you kicking your feet and chasing your dreams even when it’s scary at times and remember to never give up!

Alex is a smart and caring person that loves her friends, but has a rocking relationship with her mother since she doesn’t believe in Alex and letting her chase her dreams. She decides after trying to advance in her current job and getting turned down again to up and leave the toxic place and pursue her dreams in advertising her art.

James, who is Mr. Richie Rich, decides to start a company with his cousins, but they will do anything for the clients that the company takes in. After losing his Dad, he decides to put the cabin online for people to rent and enjoy the land with no WIFI just like his dad did.

Alex decides she needs to get away to get her mind set on creating her portfolio before she starts to apply for a new job and comes across on line “A cabin in the woods with no WIFI”. Once she arrives at the cabin her whole word changes and a connection is sparked.

They way Alex’s friends Ashlyn and Jaz are behind her in every step even with all the chaos are what true friends really are and James’s cousins Ryder and Alester are passionate about their company with James and are there to stand behind James in a way a family should. The connection between James and Alex and their friends is amazing.

I can’t wait for book 2 to find more about Jaz and Ashlyn’s story and I hope there is more on Ryder too.

I finished Snowed in the Cabin by K.P. Knupp in about 3 hours — once I got a few chapters in, I couldn’t put it down. It’s a short, cozy, snowed-in romance that’s funny, cute, and definitely brings the heat. The chemistry between the main characters was one of the strongest parts of the book, and their scenes together were 🔥.

The friendship groups were honestly a highlight for me. They had me laughing out loud, and I really wish each friend in both groups could get their own book because their personalities were so entertaining and distinct.

My main issue is that I wish the story had been longer. There were a lot of elements that had great potential but didn’t feel fully explored. I wanted more backstory on the characters and how their pasts shaped who they are in the present. The situation with the female main character’s mom was especially confusing — it felt important but wasn’t explained enough to fully understand the strain in their relationship.

The villain was another area that felt underdeveloped. They were mentioned early on and then barely present through the middle of the book, so when things escalated near the end, it felt sudden rather than built up. Because of that, parts of the plot felt rushed, like everything happened within the span of a month.

Overall, I’m giving this 3 stars. The chemistry, humor, and entertainment value felt like 4 stars, but I took one off because the book was so short and some storylines felt unfinished. Still, if you’re looking for a quick, spicy winter romance with fun friend dynamics, this is an enjoyable read.

Snowed In at the Cabin is a fast-paced, winter-themed, cosy romance that wraps you up in warm, fuzzy feelings.

This story follows Alexandra and James, two people both sitting at crossroads in their lives, each needing time to pause, reflect, and breathe. When their paths collide unexpectedly, what unfolds feels organic, messy in a very human way, and comforting. The forced proximity setup adds delicious tension, while also creating room for vulnerability, connection, and growth.

I was pulled into this story effortlessly. The pacing felt just right, engaging, and before I knew it the outside world faded away and I was fully immersed in Alexandra and James’ journey. The romance builds in a way that feels emotionally satisfying, with touches of humour, tenderness, and heat that balance each other beautifully.

There are so many tropes woven together here, forced proximity, found family, strangers to lovers, he falls first, and they blend seamlessly rather than feeling crowded. The side characters also add warmth and emotional depth, making the story feel real and more alive.

K.P. Knupp has a real gift for creating stories that feel comforting without losing momentum, and I genuinely loved every page of this one. It was cosy, engaging, and exactly the kind of read that makes you want to curl up, with a cuppa, and stay there a little longer.

I received this book as an ARC, however this review reflects my honest thoughts and feelings, shared voluntarily.
