Prepare to be haunted once more by Jacko in It's Hall-Lore-Ween Again!
A new season. A new volume. A new set of stories to share.
Jacko, the legendary Three-Eyed Jack-o-Lantern, has returned—and with him, a brand-new collection of eerie adventures, whimsical poetry, and the spirit of Halloween in full glow. Featuring three fresh short stories, six haunting poems, and spooky illustrations throughout, this follow-up to Hall-Lore-Ween delivers chills, heart, and Halloween magic for all ages.
From the imaginative world of Josh Spero comes a book the whole family can enjoy. Whether you're returning to Jacko's world or discovering it for the first time, you'll find that each tale stands on its own. No prior reading required for this sequel... though some familiar faces from the original may pop up to say hello!
Brimming with ghostly giggles, looming scares, and timeless messages of courage and connection, this is a book to return to year after year. Light a candle, cue the creepy music, and let the chill of fall settle in, because it’s Hall-Lore-Ween Again!
This charming collection of three short stories and six poems is the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit (even if Halloween is over!) Each piece captures a different side of the season, and the accompanying illustrations add an extra layer of fun. I loved how the collection feels accessible to both kids and adults, offering something for everyone to enjoy. It’s playful, imaginative, and just the right dose of eerie. It’s perfect for a cozy family read during spooky season!
I absolutely loved book one & book two did not disappoint! Book two comes out September 16!
These books are poems & short stories. It’s the perfect tradition for spooky season. The stories are perfect to read to your children..not too scary and the poems are fun!
If you liked Jeepers Creepers growing up then you’ll love these stories!🍂🎃🍁👻
This second installment of what looks to be a spooky season tradition is filled with all the creepy things you love and mixes scares with a dark sense of humor, crazy wicked illustrations, and some downright creepy poetry that's perfect for this time of year.
There are three almost novella length stories with several poems and interludes in-between which rounds it out perfectly.
From three best friends, and science nerds, who discover something very weird in a meteorite and will use it to get back at some bullies, to a story taking place over several years as a girl falls in love with a ghost she can only see on Halloween night, to a zombie story which is a lot of good horrific fun with some twists.
As I said, this is a really good full collection which is more than just stories. It has the feel of an anthology TV series like Creepshow. And, once again, really creepy and amazing illustrations to give each story an extra punch.
Pick this one up and don't forget to get the first one as well. If you like Halloween, you'll want to make this series a tradition. Of course I highly recommend it.
I received an ARC of this book from the author. This review is voluntary and is my own personal opinion.
First of all, thank you to the author for sending me an ARC!
Second, are you looking for a cosy Halloween read for the upcoming spooky season? Something to read with just the glimmer of a small light? Something chilling but not too scary!! A nice novella size to warm you up to the season? Well here you go!
These stories are fun and entertaining. They feel similar to those Goosebumps vibes and I LOVE the artwork! It's so good and really adds to the enjoyment of reading the stories.
There are short stories, and there are also spooky poems! I must say the poems were my favourite because I always love a poem that tells a story - ideally a spooky one!
This is the perfect time to get your hands on this one!
With this short story and poem collection it's Halloween all year round! 🎃 In this book you'll find three short stories featuring monsters, ghosts and zombies, and six poems all brought to you by the spooky host Jacko, The Three-Eyed Jack-o-Lantern. After already enjoying the first volume, Hall-Lore-Ween, I enjoyed this second volume even more. The stories were longer, which makes you able to really immerse yourself in it, and I thought the plot lines were really original. Especially the second story, 'The Jamboree', could just very well be worked out into a full book!
If you're looking for a short story collection for Spooky Season, set around Halloween and appropriate for the whole family, this is the one! 👻
Jacko is back! With some new stories and poems and creepy drawings Hall-Lore-Ween Again was just as good as book one! These stories were all so unique and I genuinely can’t choose a favorite! Monsters, ghosts, zombies and more! This is definitely a good short read for spooky season and pallet cleanser for in between other reads, it flowed so smoothly and once I hit the end I immediately needed another. Definitely recommend!
It's Hall-Lore-Ween Again, indeed! I didn't think I could love a book more than the first volume, but this one is even better! There are 3 short stories, 6 poems and the most lovely, spooky illustrations throughout, all of which absolutely embody the spooky, silly spirit of Halloween. The story "The Jamboree" is my favorite! Give this one a read for a spooky fun time!
This was such a fantastic collection of Halloween themed poems, tales and short stories! A perfect start to Spooky Season reading and just an overall masterpiece of haunting tales. What I love the most is that you don’t need violence and high levels of gore to get a chilling tale, and that’s what this collection delivers. Some good ‘ole classic Halloween fun!
Absolutely brilliant!! If you enjoyed book 1 (like me) you will absolutely ADORE book 2 (like me)! My only complaint is that there isn't MORE. I truly loved this and I want all of you to read it this spooky season!!!
