Love and Lairds at Highland Hall

Rate this book
A BRAND NEW gorgeous, heartwarming, romantic read from BESTSELLER Hannah Lynn The new heir isn’t the only thing causing a stir at Highland Hall…

After an unexpected twist in Fergus’s will, Rebecca Barker is still reeling. Duncan MacDuffrey, the ruggedly handsome groundskeeper-turned-heir, is now officially the new laird of Highland Hall. And just as shocking? The slow-burn romance they thought had fizzled out seems to be rekindling.

But not everyone is celebrating. Kieron, Fergus’s great-nephew and longtime rival for the estate, is furious. Convinced the title and the land should have been his, he will not let anything – or anyone – stand in his way.

And somehow, Bex seems to be his number one target. Between handling estate paperwork, dodging village whispers and trying not to get too in her head about her relationship with Duncan, she already has more than enough on her plate.

Is love enough to weather this Highland storm? Or will Bex lose more than her heart this time?

It was an okay conclusion, I guess. I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't love it either. It was dragged out too much, but then some things were rushed and it wasn't a good combination.

Bex was trying to navigate everything that happened in the last book and quite honestly she was still very frustrating.
I didn't exactly like Duncan and that scene at the bar gave me the biggest ick.
Kiernan was far too of a comical villain for me to take him seriously.
Lorna meddled too much.
The parents were the only characters I didn't mind.
Ruby, as always, is the absolute best girl!!!

I already had pretty low expectations because I didn't like book two, so I wasn't as disappointed, but I still hoped it would be better. I lost that connection to them, the one I gained in book one, in the previous book and it seems there wasn't any coming back from that.. I feel like splitting this story into three books did it a disservice.. It felt like trying to cram a lot of things in, while dragging out certain storylines and that combination didn't suit me. Not to say others won't enjoy exactly that, it just didn't work for me. After book two I considered not reading this one, but I just can't leave a story unfinished and I hoped it would be more satisfying. We needed more of Bex and Duncan, because what happened at the end didn't feel as satisfying as it should.. We needed more emotional depth, less drama.

I still love the setting, nothing will beat that, but the direction this story took isn't something I enjoyed.

This was quite enjoyable and cozy; honestly, it reads like a breeze.

We have two exes—Rebecca and Duncan—and a twist of fate bringing them back together all the time. Rebecca is an accountant who worked with the previous laird of Highland Hall, Fergus, on his finances, and Duncan is the groundskeeper there. But it turns out he might also be the new heir, as Rebecca concludes from the clues in the previous laird's will. That, of course, doesn't go down quite well with the heir-presumptive, Kieran (Fergus's great-nephew), who is determined to ensure no one but him inherits the title, the land, and everything that goes with it.

Rebecca is a very relatable person (as much as one can relate to this situation), and it's so easy to keep rooting for her and hoping she gets a good ending. I admit, at the beginning I thought maybe we were being set up for a twist involving the secondary male lead, but as the story progressed, I was glad it wasn't that kind of story. I very much enjoyed Rebecca's train of thought and how she approaches the difficult situations life throws at her. However, she was a bit annoying at times, which I guess just makes her human (and that's good, nobody's perfect!).

As for Duncan, honestly, we didn't get that much of him. This book clearly focuses more on Rebecca, her decision-making, and her influence on others. But from what we do get, he seems like a really nice lad with a good brain, and he should be ready for the challenges of the new role he's being thrown into. He might want to think about cutting down the drinking a bit, though!

Overall, it's a cozy, heartwarming Highland romance with a touch of drama. If that's your jam, I highly recommend it as it's written very well.

Thank you to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy.

Absolute chaos, simmering tension, and a Highland estate full of secrets… and honestly, I was completely hooked from the first page.

Love and Lairds at Highland Hall by Hannah Lynn pulled me straight back into the drama, heart, and tangled relationships waiting at Highland Hall. Published by Boldwood Books, thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for the gifted ARC.

This book drops you right into the emotional aftermath of everything that exploded in the previous installment, and the tension is immediate. Duncan has suddenly been revealed as the rightful heir to Highland Hall, which would be overwhelming for anyone, but especially for someone who had been quietly working as the estate’s groundskeeper. Meanwhile Bex finds herself caught in the middle of estate drama, lingering heartbreak, and a romance that clearly never finished saying what it needed to say.

And then there’s Kieron, who absolutely refuses to accept the outcome of Fergus’s will. His resentment simmers throughout the story, creating this constant undercurrent of tension that keeps things moving even during the quieter moments. Watching his schemes unfold had me equal parts frustrated and glued to the page because you just know he isn’t going to go quietly.

But what makes this book work so well isn’t just the inheritance drama or the twists around the estate. It’s the feeling of stepping back into a place that feels real. Hannah Lynn writes community beautifully. The Scottish Highlands setting feels cozy, atmospheric, and comforting, the kind of place you want to escape to with a warm drink and a blanket. The village gossip, family tensions, and everyday moments between characters make the world feel lived in rather than simply described.

Bex continues to be such a compelling character to follow. She’s practical, intelligent, and fiercely determined, but she also carries a lot of emotional weight as she tries to navigate everything happening around her. Watching her balance loyalty, her career, and her complicated feelings for Duncan made her feel incredibly relatable. She’s the kind of heroine who doesn’t always have the perfect answer, but she keeps trying to do the right thing.

Duncan remains the quiet heart of the story. Thrust into a role he never expected, he’s trying to figure out what it means to suddenly inherit a legacy while still being the same grounded person he’s always been. His connection with Bex is where the story really shines. Their slow-burn romance is tender, complicated, and built on history, which makes every small interaction between them feel meaningful.

One moment that perfectly captured the tone of the book was the line:
“Golden eagles — you know they mate for life.”

That sentiment lingers throughout the story, quietly echoing the idea that some connections never truly disappear, no matter how messy life becomes.

And I have to say, Ruby the dog deserves a special mention because every scene with her added such warmth and emotional sweetness to the story.

This is the kind of book that feels like comfort reading but still delivers emotional payoff. It’s cozy, heartfelt, and full of character-driven moments that make you care deeply about how everything turns out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Readers who love Scottish Highland settings, second-chance romance, small-town community vibes, and slow-burn relationships that unfold over time will absolutely enjoy this story. It’s especially rewarding if you’ve followed the Highland Hall series, because seeing these characters finally move toward resolution feels incredibly satisfying.

By the time I reached the final pages, I closed the book with that warm, content feeling you get when a story gives your heart exactly the ending it needed.

Do you love a romance that builds slowly across a series, or do you prefer when the love story wraps up in a single book?

👆🏾POV: 3rd person

⚠️TW: town gossip, bar fight, grief, blackmail, panic attacks

🌎 Setting: Highland Hall (HH)- Scotland

Summary: Everyone is still reeling from the secret Fergus kept about Duncan's heritage. He is the new laird but is struggling to come to terms with all the new responsibilities. He and Bex still love each other, but Kieron feels slighted by them and threatens Bex to get his revenge.

👩🏾 Heroine: Rebecca "Bex" Barker-an accountant from London, on sabbatical from work

👨🏾 Hero: Duncan Macduffery-Bex's ex, new laird of HH, former groundskeeper.

🎭 Other Characters:

*Nigel-Bex's boss in London
*Kieron- Fergus's great nephew who wanted to inherit HH
*Ishbel-Kieron's mother, Fergus's sister
*Lorna-Duncan's stepsister
*Gordon-Fergus's lawyer
*Keith and Carrie-Duncan's father and stepmom
*Ruby-Bex's dog

🤔 My Thoughts: I loved Kieron's takedown. Things seemed desperate for Bex after he threatened her job, Duncan's claim to HH, and the town. He was jealous and had a warped sense of entitlement claiming he was doing it for his mother. For such a devious villain to be scolded by his mummy showed how small bullies really are. Bex and Duncan got their HEA and I loved Ruby 🐶🐶🐶.

Love and Lairds at Highland Hall
by Hannah Lynn

This captivating novel marks the third book in the Highland Hall series, a journey I have eagerly traversed from beginning to end. The story picks up seamlessly at the conclusion of the previous book, drawing me back into the rich tapestry of drama and emotion that defines this story. Bex and Duncan continue to be their wonderfully messy, lovable selves, each interaction brimming with the complexities of their enduring affection for one another.

I found immense joy in reconnecting with the cast of characters I had grown to cherish throughout the series. The story is laden with lingering unresolved conflicts from the second book, igniting my anticipation for how these threads would ultimately weave together. While I am left wondering whether the author intends to write another book or if this is the conclusion of the series, I remain hopeful that there are still more stories waiting to unfold.

Kieron, in all his chaotic glory, is a character I can’t help but love to hate, and I was particularly impressed by how his dismissal is intricately handled. Bex finally stands up for herself and gains a broader perspective on life. The layers of character development and emotional depth in this book make it a delightful read until the final page.

My only criticism of this book is the limited presence of Duncan, despite his significant role in the story. He was frequently mentioned and played a central part in the plot, particularly in relation to Bex and Fergus's will, yet he was absent from many of the chapters. This lack of his presence made it challenging to fully grasp his character and the dynamics of his relationship with Bex. I felt that more scenes featuring Duncan would have enriched the narrative and provided deeper insight into both his motivations and the overall story.

Love and Lairds at Highland Hall is a warm, cozy, and wonderfully escapist read—the kind of story that wraps around you like a soft blanket and lets you sink straight into the drama, charm, and romance of the Highlands. It has that gentle, heartfelt tone you gravitate toward: character‑driven, emotionally open, and full of small moments that feel beautifully lived‑in.

Rebecca (Bex) is such an easy heroine to root for. She’s still reeling from the shock of Fergus’s will, juggling paperwork, village gossip, and her own tangled feelings, all while trying to keep her footing as Highland Hall shifts beneath her. The rekindling of her slow‑burn connection with Duncan adds a lovely warmth to the story—steady, tender, and threaded with the kind of chemistry that feels earned rather than rushed. Duncan stepping into his unexpected role as laird brings both charm and vulnerability, and their dynamic has a sweetness that balances the tension perfectly.

Of course, no Highland romance is complete without a bit of trouble, and Kieron provides it in spades. His resentment simmers through the pages, adding just enough edge to keep the stakes high without losing the book’s comforting tone. The village whispers, the family tensions, the sense of legacy tied to the estate—all of it creates a rich backdrop for Bex’s journey as she tries to protect both her heart and her home.

The novel blends romance, community, and just a touch of intrigue into a story that feels warm, hopeful, and deeply satisfying. It’s about finding your place, trusting your instincts, and believing that love can weather even the stormiest Highland skies.

A charming, heartfelt escape with characters you can’t help but care about.

What an absolute firework of a storyline!

We continue the story of Fergus’s Will and the argument of who is the legal owner of Highland Hall and all the estate, with Kieron stating whole heartedly that he is the true heir and not Duncan who was the groundskeeper of the estate.

The jealousy of Kieron rears its ugly head in more ways than thought possible, starting with a newspaper article painting Duncan as an aggressive man beating up a mother person who ended up in hospital via ambulance (complete nonsense), then telling all his business acquaintances to cancel their business with Rebecca’s accountancy firm in London - almost costing her and the other staff members their jobs, then being rung by her boss she is needed immediately at the office due to the police being involved now in an investigation of Rebecca apparently embezzling which again is absolutely ridiculous - the things people do when jealous and scared to lose what they think is theirs.

When Rebecca decides enough is enough she does the only thing she can do to save her reputation and quits her job, telling her manager everything he should’ve done to keep her but didn’t so now it’s time to go all out alone.

Kieron is still playing the Heir and causing hurt and threatening Rebecca of what he will do to the village folk if she doesn’t sign a form he has had drawn up by his solicitor but thankfully she refuses.

They say karma has a way of biting you in the backside and in this story, it most definitely does IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE.

"Golden Eagles -you know they mate for life"
Bex & Duncan 💛

I went into this read blind as it is actually book 3 of the highland hall series so wasn't sure if I needed to know the story before, I didn't & I wasn't dissapointed, it was quite easy to slip into the series without reading the previous stories but now I want to as I really enjoyed it.

The book tells the love story of Bex & Duncan.
Bex returns to the Highlands to settle the estate of highland hall after the late laird Fergus dies, only to find out that the grounds keeper Duncan is actually next in line to be the new laird after finding out that Fergus was his actual grandfather.
It's hard news for Duncan to take in & he runs for the hills quite literally as secrets have been kept from him for years. Kieren who thought he was next in line causing a lot of problems until his mummy turns up & tells him how it is.
Can the love between Bex & Duncan survive the storm....of course it can.
It was a slow burn, small town Romance that I was invested in from the 1st chapter.
A very easy read that kept me interested all the way & small chapters (I love small chapters)
I loved the way this author just flowed, great story. Now I need to back track & read the rest of the books.

Big thanks to Hannah lynn, Boldwold books & net gallery for giving me the opportunity to read this fabulous story.

5/5 estrellas

‘Love and Lairds at Highland Hall’ isn’t your average romance, it’s filled with drama along with being a cosy read. It’s easy to read, fast paced and it has a wonderful flow.

We follow main character Bex navigating multiple issues such as trying not to get in her head about her rekindling relationship with Duncan, helping sort out Fergus’ will of whome Duncan groundkeeps and is now the new heir of, and dealing with a very unhappy Kieron who is Fergus’ great nephew. I loved how Bex had a lot of support from the people who surrounded her, even Ruby the dog supported Bex and loved her to bits. Of course Ruby is my favourite character because how could you not be in love with a dog in a book. Kieron is a very distasteful character and he really annoyed me, he was just your stereotypical spoilt person who wanted everything his way.

I found it easy to expect where the story was going which isn’t a bad thing as it’s still a really enjoyable book, it’s really wholesome and it’s based in Scotland, described in such apicturesque way. My favourite thing about the book is that it isn’t a straight forward romance and that there’s a rocky road, it made things engaging and interesting. It’s the perfect read for a lazy day, I’d recommend this book to anybody who loves a cosy romantic read with added drama.

⭐️ 4.5

I went into this not realising it was book three in the series, but it honestly worked really well as a standalone. That said, I’ll definitely be going back to read the first two books because it’s clear there’s a lot of history between Bex and Duncan that I now need to experience from the beginning.

The pacing was spot on. The story picks up seamlessly and keeps the momentum going throughout, making it such an easy, addictive read. I loved Bex and Duncan as main characters—their relationship feels layered and realistic, especially as they’re navigating what comes next after everything they’ve already been through. That slow-burn, slightly uncertain stage of “can we make this work?” added so much depth and emotion.

Then you have the added tension of the estate drama—who the rightful Laird is, and Kieron as a vengeful rival, which brought just the right amount of intrigue to balance the romance. It kept me completely hooked.

I genuinely couldn’t put this down and ended up reading it in one sitting. The short, snappy chapters made it so easy to fly through, and the ending had me internally cheering and kicking my legs with joy!!

A cosy yet gripping romance with heart, drama, and characters you can’t help but root for. Definitely recommend and looking forward to book 4!

Bex is taking Ruby for a walk near LochDarroch. She works in London for an accounting firm and has asked for a 4-week sabbatical from here job. She is here as her old friend Fergus, the late laird of Highland Hall, had wanted her to oversee his will and who will be the next laird. It turns out that it could be Duncan with whom she has had a relationship or Kieron, the arrogant man who has always lived at the Hall and thinks he is already the next laird. Duncan has always been a groundskeeper and Kieron has always looked down on him. It has become necessary for a DNA test must be done for Duncan and Kieron so everyone is on pins and needles.

The story is filled with lots of other characters in the town along with many family members who have gathered to find out the results of the DNA testing. So, will Duncan and Bex get back together and who will be the next laird?

I thought for sure that I had read other books about Highland Hall but it appears I was wrong. That means I felt like i came in the middle of a movie as I read the book. However, the characters are engaging and the story is well-written. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Duncan is the newly appointed laird of Highland Hall. While Bex is in Highland Hall in Scotland helping review the estate paperwork, she uncovers a twist in the late laird’s will.

They both have to face Kieron, who believes he is the rightful heir. All the while, Duncan and Bex realize their feelings for each other remain and begin to explore the possibility of a relationship again.

I enjoyed reading Duncan and Bex’s relationship. We see heartfelt moments but we also see their faults and their humanity. Love and Lairds at Highland Hall is the third book in the Highland Hall series, and we see how their relationship evolves. We see the ups and downs they face and the storms they weather.

I thought about how the novel considers the idea of home. It’s more than buildings. We see how Duncan is community focused, both personally in his relationship with Bex and collectively, ensuring that everyone who calls the lands of Highland Hall home is taken care of. Duncan demonstrates leadership and reminds us how home is about people and community.

Thank you to Hannah Lynn and Love Books Tours for the opportunity to be a part of the tour! I look forward to reading the other books of this series!

🏰What romance isn't better with a villain?!😈

Good intrigue, a pre-existing sweet and clean romance that keeps getting derailed then revived and a snob of a villain who just can't accept rejection or any opposition to his entitlement. The villain is a real piece of work and I loved the way he eventually gets what he REALLY deserves. Something that I didn't enjoy: the frenetic pace and anxiety the heroine tries to cope with when her job is in peril: I got too anxious and jumpy right along with her! Other than that, I enjoyed it.

I read this as a standalone though it was evident from the first chapter that there was at least one previous volume and a major cliffhanger at the end of the previous novel. Fortunately Hannah Lynn provides enough salient points from the earlier stories so I didn't feel left in the dark. But I did feel I had missed a good portion of character development and the full scope of the romance by not following them through all three books.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I love a good Scottish/Highlands romance, and this third book in the Highland Hall series was such a satisfying continuation of the story. If you’ve been following the series, this one really dives into the repercussions of how book two ended and brings several storylines full circle.

One of the things I enjoyed most was seeing how the characters continue to grow while navigating everything happening around them. There’s romance, of course, but also strong themes of loyalty, found family, and the kind of emotional moments that make you really care about these characters. A few reveals along the way kept things interesting and definitely made this a must-read for fans of the series.

Overall, this was a great addition to the series and a satisfying read if you’ve been invested in the world of Highland Hall. If you enjoy romance set against the backdrop of the Highlands with heart, family dynamics, and a touch of drama, this one is definitely worth picking up.

So going into this book was a blank slate for me as I have not read the previous two books in the series.
However coming in at this book I did not feel confused with who the characters are or the storyline like I had to stop and read the others before continuing.

There was just one slight downside with me coming in at this book. The story is centred on following Bex so the romance connection with male character is not as present and heavy as it will have already been building in first two books.

Likely if I had read the first two books I would have had more background on the interactions between characters as well as that more budding romance feel.

Bex the main female character is trying to be supportive, balance a career and do the right thing whilst life is throwing up problems but she can be a bit irritating. Which is what made her a rounded character for me, feeling that anxious, slightly feisty and messy character, an imperfect person. Because no one is perfect and we can all be a bit irritating to someone.

I enjoyed reading this cosy small town romance.

This is book 3 in the Highland Hall series. I had read book 1, but missed book 2, and I definitely came into this book a little lost at some events being discussed which must have happened in book 2 so I would definitely say read this in order.
Back in the Scottish Highlands, Bex and Duncan face trials and tribulations regarding the future of Highland Hall and its estate, thanks to Kieron. We get some sad moments, some humorous moments, and some heartwarming moments. The story spans so much in such a short space. I loved seeing how the characters were getting on, I had really loved the people, setting and adventures of the locals in the previous book so its nice to keep following them.
It is really quick and easy to curl up and get lost in this book. I really like the authors writing style.
I can see that there is at least another book to come in this series and given the ending of this one it sounds like it will be a goodie!

I went into this blind having never read the first two books thinking that I would need to but nope! This was a great read without needing the first ones.

This was a super sweet, slow burn, small town romance to read with some great drama and intrigue. Hannah created a very realistic setting and dialogue for the characters. Honestly I thought that Bex a fun character who had some spice and spunk to her.

The details and plot were great! I loved watching it all unfold like a fly on the wall waiting for the next bit of juicy drama to happen!!

Ruby is the best girl who deserves her own book. I love how she listens so well!

Kieron was perfect in his resentment that simmers across the story keeping you hooked to see what he would do next. He reared his ugly head at the best moments to keep the plot moving.

There is such great growth in this story which is always a plus. Give it a chance!

This was a wonderful story in a fantadtic setting with great characters! I highly recommend this series.

Amazon synopsis:

I am, indeed, proud of myself, not only because I am early reading and reviewing this book but also because I have somehow managed to be an ARC reader all the way from Kilts and Kisses at Highland Hall to this very book. So, yay me!
Now, about the book... I must say I didn't exactly expect most of it. Kieron is a wee brat, which must be taken as in "I have witnessed toddlers showing far more maturity. " Then again, yeah, I get it, he is a brat and a twat. Bex is finally, bloody finally, getting the memo (I mean, it took her long enough because no one there was subtle at all about their hints).
So yes, a great book indeed. A very quick read but also... It feels like quite the chaotic Christmas dinner that's an attempt at reconciling family members that hate eachother. All in all, 10 outta ten.

Oh my! Perfection!
So beautifully written that I was captivated from the first chapter.
Finding myself easily falling back into the story from where it left off in book 2 and invested in what’s to happen with the Lairdship.
I adored catching up with all the characters I’d grown to love over the series.
Bex and Duncan were the same messy but loveable characters that never stopped caring for each other.
Could this finally be their time?
Such a sweet but complex storyline that I enjoyed every minute of, from the love, the family help to the nastiness and the tension it caused. I’m especially looking forward to what I hope to be Bex and Duncan’s happy ending in book 4.
Thank you so much Hannah Lynn, NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this story.
Absolutely loved it!

This was a 3.5 ⭐ for me

I enjoyed going back to highland hall and the lovely loch it’s set in. There was a lot left unresolved in the second book so I was excited to see everything come to a conclusion and it was the conclusion I wanted so I’m happy, but I’m not 100% sure I was convinced by how they got there. Duncan has a lot of red flags, the drinking, aggression and womanising is not what makes me swoon, though I get that it makes him human, especially considering he is kind, an animal lover and a family guy.

Kieron turned from hot rich guy to over the top movie villian (all he needed was a curly moustache to twiddle) to petulant child who calls his mom…mummy. It was a wild ride.

I felt the story could have been written in two books, but I did enjoy this, especially the end where I was desperate to finish and see what happened.

This is the third installment in the series and therefore you must read the earlier books to really understand the story. This novel picks up where the last one finished with a revelation that has everyone reeling. Could Duncan really be the late Laird's grandson and so the heir to the estate. Rebecca realises that despite her love for Duncan she must let him come to terms with this shock. And then there's Kieron who is determined to hold onto his supposed inheritance to the detriment of everyone else.

One of the strengths of this series is the beautiful highland setting and the warm community who surround and support Rebecca and Duncan, not forgetting Ruby the pup. Even though there's plenty of drama, the story makes you feel warm and cozy and willing the two leads to have a happy ever after. With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the arc.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.

Really quick, one sitting read that pretty much starts where the previous one ended, although there is enough background for readers new to the series to feel you haven't missed anything. My biggest complaint is that Duncan hardly makes an appearance here, so I'm dropping one star from my rating. Also, I absolutely cringed every time Bex's mother called her Becky Boo. But, the best part is that Kieron gets what he deserves :)

I suppose the series could continue but if not, I'm happy with the outcome here.

Another great installment! I loved getting back into it and after a lot of unresolved issues in the last book i really had to find out how it all played out.

Bex....well, she's just Bex and i'll be honest I was so mad at her for how she had treated Duncan. You love each other so quit it Bex! In saying that I felt Duncan was a bit of a walking red flag with the drinking and the fighting...now, in saying that i believe it just showed us that he is human and was hurting really badly. He is dealing with quite a bit after all.

I loved the drama of this book and how Kieron got his Comeuppance, Now I'm just going to wait very very eagerly for another book!

easy 5 stars

Great to catch up with the folks at the hall. Rebecca is back to do more work for Fergus even though sadly he is no longer around. She is fresh from a break up with Duncan and although they have more than a flickering flame for each other she vows to support him through friendship.
This book has lots of drama involved. There is lots of friendship, fun and warmth. It’s a great book and I love the series. Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

A cosy romantic story, there are lots of obstacles in their way - can she make it through to find true love? Who is the true Laird of Highland Hall? Will our strong independent accountant get her career and find her happy ending? I recommend you read this book to find out. It’s simply a good old fashioned romance.

A wonderful continuation of the series (you really do need to tread the others to understand who everyone is and what is going on) that packs a punch in so few pages. I enjoyed the story continuing on directly from the end of the last book and I’m envisioning another book to come. There are some good, well rounded characters that are very relatable, and as always, Ruby the dog steals the show.
