After a last-minute meeting put me on a jet to Chicago, I met her. The girl with sad eyes and a feisty mouth.
I should have thanked her for her kindness, then left it at that. But I didn’t. Sitting through another soul sucking meeting, all I could think about were her dark eyes, her soft lips, the way her dog has no concept of personal space—and for the first time, a quiet hope filled my chest.
Two weeks later, as I’m forcing my mind to focus on my grandfather’s empire, I look up and find those haunting eyes, standing in my office like she belongs. Like she has the answers to all my problems.
When my grandfather lays down the law—marry at 35 or forfeit my trust—I see the solution. Marry her. Keep her close. Protect her. And still come out on top.
Then I marrying her will cost me everything. My control. My inheritance. My empire.
And yet… the thought of losing her is the one that brings me to my knees.
Wonderful love story. Eleanor is such a relatable fmc to me. Henry was so patient and kind and totally loving each moment with her. It was heartwarming and tender along with some funny moments. I hope Charlie gets her story soon and Harper as well.
This book will sweep you in and not let go. I loved how Henry was with Ellie. He melted my heart how patience he was, how he stood up for her. And Ellie's protectiveness of Henry was the chef's kiss. This book will give you all the feels, from shock to laughter to even tough spots. It's chaotic. It's real life. And it's oh so good!!! This is such a beautiful story. I can't wait for more books from Erica Hyde!!!
