I loved this book way more than I expected!! I got it during the BRAE event and knew I wanted to read this one first. Loyal honestly deserved the world cause my girl put up with a wholeeee lot and I'm glad she got it! This book was drama packed in under 200 pages so I was locked in the entire time! I started it at like 1am and probably would've stayed up the whole night to finish if I didn't have clients in the morning 😂 but I got up and got right back into this little world and very much enjoyed myself.

The only thing I don't like about certain BBW books, is all the super extreme fat shaming. I understand.. I guess but it gets very triggering and I get very upset lbs so beware of that when reading because the fat shaming was endless!! Oh and another thing, it's called falling for an East Texas cowboy and we didn't see nothing about him being a cowboy besides him having a farm and a horse 😭 I was actually really excited to see a black cowboy in a story

There’s always been this idea that plus-sized women should accept anything from a man because she’s “lucky to have him” … eeeeyuckkk. This is the furthest from the truth.

Loyal deserved the happiness she found with Brooks. He was lockeddd in on Loyal from the moment he set eyes on her at the diner. He was a man of his word from day one, and that was exactly what Loyal needed after what Tyrell brought to her doorstep! This novella is short and sweet, but also packed with enough family drama and a delusional ex-boyfriend to keep you entertained.

Big girls deserve love just like everyone else. There’s someone who will love you out loud for all to see ❤️

Yay For Loyal!

This was a great world to step into. There were a lot of character connections but everything was super entertaining. The drama in this book was jam-packed for less than 200 pages, but I loved every minute of it. I was happy to see Loyal come out on top after everything she had been through. If you like an insta-love trope, this is a cute short read for you.

What is for you will always be

First thing first, the title kinda through me off cause I had to pause my reading to check the title to make sure it was right because I don't think it matches the theme of the book however it didn't take away from the overall book. Now let's get to the characters Tyrell what you did to that girl is unforgivable and you think you can manipulate her and use you kids as an excuse says a lot about you. Miracle, her momma and brother need way more than and whooping you all are a bunch of despicable people. Brooke took one look and knew that Loyal was is forever and he didn't take is foot of the gas until that ring was one her finger and baby was made and their little family was finally together ❤

I won't give it an official star rating because this was recommended to me by a friend that knows I love Black cowboy romances, and I don't want to mess up the author's average. If I were going to rate it, I would likely give it a 2/5. I feel like the idea of the book had the potential to be better, but it fell a little flat (for me). The biggest issue I had with it was the timeline. There was no definite timeline that was established, so I wasn't sure how long the timeframe was. From the time the FMC leaves her horrible boyfriend, to her leaving and getting an inheritance, to her getting a new boyfriend, and then living happily ever after, seemed like a couple months at the most.

Another issue I had was the FMC's first boyfriend. There was nothing special about him that made me connect the dots for her to stay in that relationship for so long. He claimed he loved her, but there was no chemistry between the two of them. The story literally starts off with him going to see his secret children at his baby mama's apartment...that he paid all the bills for. He was literally paying bills for two households and the FMC never noticed that strain on his budget? Especially when he said he couldn't afford to do it anymore. That leads me to believe he was definitely stretching himself thin financially, and his live-in girlfriend should have noticed.

He fathered two children outside of their relationship, and when he told her about it (and came up with the preposterous idea for his outside children and side chick to live with them), she had nothing to say but "ok." She continued to take care of those children, and cook for them for however long it was before she came to her senses and decided to leave. She also let his side chick disrespect her- in her own home- multiple times with minimal pushback.

She finally left, and in what seemed like a day or two, she was already in a new relationship with the MMC. That relationship moved SUPER fast straight out of the gate. It also took no time for them to cohabitate and start playing house.

I also didn't understand why no one would immediately volunteer the knowledge that her "siblings" weren't actually her siblings. Everyone knew how Miracle was acting and how much she was willing to do to take the FMC's inheritance. With so many people not really liking Miracle, I would think that information would have been volunteered a lot quicker than it was. It would have saved the threats on her life and eliminated the incident that put the FMC in the hospital.

It also bothered me that EVERYONE in this story, except the MMC, seemed to have a problem with the FMC's weight. The side chick, the not-sister, the not-sister's friends, the first boyfriend... so, no one except the MMC could see that she was beautiful and didn't focus on her weight?

There was also a part where the MMC mentioned to his baby mama that the FMC was having his baby, but the FMC surprised the MMC at the end of the story by telling him she was pregnant. So, what was the convo with the baby mama all about?

I get that it's a story, and a lot of it is out of left field anyway, but some things personally distract me when they don't match up in a story.

Again, just because it wasn't for me, doesn't mean someone else won't enjoy it.

Loyal, Tyrell, and Brooks

WTF did I just read. First of all why in the h*ck did we get Tyrell's POV, and then we got it first. This has to be one of the most delusional men I've ever had the displeasure of being subjected to. I mean the audacity!!!

Then we have Loyal is just beaten down by the time the story begins. I got the idea from Tyrell's thinking that she was feisty but was depressed after a major loss. The feisty was not proven, because if there was ever a time for it it's when your significant other brings his kids that he had while cheating on you AND his baby mama to live in your house. Loyal just goes with the flow, until after she gets the letter from a lawyer and she finally leaves.

I don't know how much time exactly falls between that and when she and Brooks fall in love, but she jumps out of one bad situation and land in another and herein lies my problem. I came here expecting romance and got a bucket load of drama, drama, drama.

I don't know why these people weren't handled right away and were given enough leeway to emotionally and physically attack this woman.

Next time warn a girl about the drama so she can be prepared and maybe the rating would be higher.

not for me

I really struggled to get into this story. The FMC lacked backbone to the point where it was hard to stay connected to her, especially when she allowed her boyfriend’s children and his child’s mother to move into their home. It pulled me out of the story because it didn’t feel realistic or relatable.

I understand this is a shorter book, so limited character development is expected, but the pacing felt rushed and left little room for emotional depth. The plot itself had a lot of potential, but the execution fell short for me. Overall, it was a quick read, but not one that fully landed the way it could have.

Loved this

Really good read. Loyal deserves all the good things that happened to her. Loved Brooks, he knew what he wanted and went for it. Tyrell was an ass,I'm glad he really felt Loyal alone and focused on his kids. Miracle use have been locked up, Mae is trifling as hell. Marc Anthony seems like HR just went along with anything.

Overall great read!

loved this

This story was beautifully written! Loyal was used to being quite and letting people walk all over her. That was until the day her boyfriend of 7 years came home with another women and 2 kids. Go read it to find out what happens next there’s a lot of events that take place and a series of unfortunate events

I loved it 😍

It would have taken a miracle to pull me up off of Miracle with all of the antics that she had! I loved how perfect Brooks was. Tyrell had a lot of nerve and audacity. I can't wait to read the next book that this author drops

So good

You want to talk about unnecessary family drama!!! Whew honey. Talk about a whirlwind. Apart from that, the pure and genuine love and relationships that came about was really great. This was a great read.

Too Many Errors

This is my first time reading a book by this author. I love the storyline but there were entirely too many grammatical errors in this book.
