I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I love this series and as soon as I finished my current read I picked this one up. Rite of Threats and Revenge is the seventh book in this series and follows the story of Beatrice who finds out she's a vampire and slowly learns the way of the vampire court, she refuses to be a pawn in other vampires game and starts amassing her own power.
I really like seeing Beatrice develop throughout the series and it's been so interesting seeing how she's handling herself at court. In this book she continues to make allies and advance her own goals so she won't be a pawn of someone else. I like seeing how she handled court and seeing these plot lines develop is so interesting. This book has some interesting developments plot wise and some more political intrigue going on. There's some danger they have to deal with and Beatrice's cousin Bella is still struggling with the death of her husband. I like her as a character and feel so sorry for her, the scenes with her can be quite sad as shes clearly suffering.
One of my favorite parts of this series is the romance between Beatrice and Linc, they make for such a great couple and I like how they are there for each other and support the other. I just love reading about them. They have some outside threats they're dealing with together as well as Linc's struggles with alcohol. And there are some sweet, steamy and touching moments they share.
To summarize: I really like this series, it's set at the vampire court and there's plenty of political intrigue. I like seeing how Beatrice deals with it all and is making her own plans and amasses allies and power so she won't be a pawn in someone else their plans. I like seeing the plot progress and can't wait to see what happens next. The romance between Beatrice and Linc is wodnerful and I love seeing how they are there for each other. They really are a team and together deal with some threats and difficulties in this book . And there are some sweet and steamy moments. I look forward to more in this series!
I have enjoyed every book in this series and this book was no exception. The court intrigue and power plays are in full force as Beatrice learns more about her new position in the royal family. Thankfully, she has Linc and her group of friends to help her along the way. She’s discovering more about who she can trust and who might be out to get her. Hopefully the next book makes it clear who is really on Beatrice’s side!
As Linc and Beatrice assume more duties at court, she must learn to balance this new power with safety. Lady Wentworth is training her to defend against assassins, but not all hide in shadows. Her brother’s paranoia and jealousy cause schisms in their relationship. Trust is fleeting, and danger is constant.
What a mix of deceit, intrigue, and romance! I received an advance copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.
Next book. Definitely need to read the books in order as they follow a time sequence. Princess Bea still trains for self defense. Lady Bella threatens Bastian. King tells Princess Bea to invite Lady Irene Dainforth as a lady’s maid. Assassin scare. I received a copy from BookFunnel and voluntarily leave an honest review.
I liked parts of this story where the main couple were in danger from a pair of assassins & that the threat against the royal household dissipated with them being caught. I fell in love with Bella & the way she has tried to stay happy with the loss of her husband, it's so sad. I really didn't like how the story felt drawn out & not much happened until almost the end.

I really enjoyed this book, it was full of shifts and changes in the dynamics of the families. Bastian is really starting to show his true colours and it’s not good. The vampiric side is coming out in droves and a really narcissistic side which wasn’t expected from the start. The book is filled with twists and turns.
Life at court gets more complicated as Beatrice and Linc adjust to marriage and their roles as royals. I enjoyed the various plot twists as well as the increased focus on the people around our romantic leads as they continue in their growth.
I really, really love this series. The storyline is very complex, and also very good. I enjoyed reading this one, especially to see how things are progressing in the royal household. Recommended read.
Loved returning and seeing how Beatrice and Linc are doing after their marriage. A bit of drama and watching Beatrice grow as she learns more about her new life. Made me laugh at times and wonder what is coming next.
‘Don't let revenge take who you are from you’ Grief and pain are powerful emotions. While they are crucial to the healing process after a loss, they can also be used against a mourner who is not managing them in a constructive way. People (and even vampires) have been taken advantage of when they are emotionally vulnerable…and the consequences literally can come back to bite. Be mindful of those around you and always question motives.
I think the title for the next in series (‘Rite of Lies and Loyalty’) is quite perfect!
This is a fantastic continuation of a series that expertly weaves together family tension, political drama ,and paranormal machinations involving assassination and intrigue. It’s a very good read.
