These Encyclopedias of Mythical Creatures are always captivating to read through. I've read a couple others and they never disappoint. Filled with haunting, mysterious, and even majestic mythical creatures that will leave you wondering who all is really out there.
Perhaps the Basilisk, or death-gaze serpent king, from French mythology is lurking about. It's look alone is said to 'wither crops, shatter stone, or kill any creature on site.' Not to mention it's extremely venomous.
Maybe the Mermaid, or seductress of sailors, from mythology shared all around the world, is lying in wait. Her song, her seductive promises, and her beauty leading men straight to their death.
Then there are creatures far less ominous but still mysterious and majestic. Like the unicorn, or untamed herald of purity from French mythology. Said to be a wild and beautiful creature who could only be tamed by a pure maiden.
Regardless if you choose to believe these myths as real, especially those who appear in mythology around the world, or you choose just see them as scary or mysterious stories, this encyclopedia of mythical creatures won't leave you shy of intrigue.
