Chase Chandler has everything—wealth, power and control. But none of this matters when he is haunted by a yearning that he cannot quieten. A chance meeting one rainy night sets a dark dangerous plan in motion. Driven by obsession, Chase kidnaps Peyton and he takes her to a world where fear and desire blur the lines. But what begins as captivity soon evolves into love.
Look, I wanted to like this. The concept had potential — dark, twisted romance with gothic vibes — but the execution… oof. The writing felt clunky, the pacing off, and the chemistry more “lukewarm tea” than “slow-burn inferno.” Not terrible, just needed more polish and less repetition. Points for effort, though.
