4.5⭐️ Trevor and Natalia own my heart and soul. SECOND CHANCE DARK MAFIA ROMANCE PERFECTION!!! These two will rip your heart out then slowly put it back together. I loved their story so much!! Gahhh two genius hackers from rival families forbidden to be together with so much chemistry and tension IM SATTTTT!!! Tell me why I cried too… bye.
you think you can just take the most iconic line from my favorite series and im not gonna say something?? "I grew wings without you." "I'll crush your fucking wings." HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YOU THINK YOU CAN OUTDO MY ROTHJASMINE BABIES????? oh HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL fucking no 😘
I’ve had a full long ass review depicting the two parts in details, but after finishing the book, I just don’t want to talk about it…
This was, to put it mildly, a big disappointment. The first part was good, fun and fresh. 5/5. But the second part ? Bunch of events, parties, informations, no plot twist and just stuff happening for nothing.
I disliked lot of stuff in this book but the major things that annoyed me are : - The MMC is Japanese but his name is Trevor Su? Why not Kai, Kenji, Kaito, Hiro or Ren ? That bugged me 😫 - The secret about Natalia’s mother’s death : didn’t add anything to the plot. I actually liked her relationship with her father because it was new (for me, an avid mafia romance reader), and then BAM let’s ruin it 🤦🏻♀️ - The disregard and the way Natalia cut off her father and her new found family as soon as she found the secret news of her mother’s death. - This book is +500 pages long and since chapters 45 till 50 I think, it’s about Maria and Zach’s relationship. WTF? Especially since the story was not finished yet. They didn’t find the rat yet, why am I reading about M&Z’s breakup ? - The rat : don’t get me fucking started because who the heck is that ? Boring !
Overall, this book is a mixture between “The sweetest Oblivion” and “The maddest obsession” with a long epilogue and so much more chapters and pages about side characters. It’s like Elena and Christian, too much pink and an unfounded obsession.
Natalia and Trevor bring forth a lot of yearning and angst, that leaves readers craving more.
Christina Russo immerses you into the Mafia world with badass FMC's who are as intelligent as they are skilled with a weapon.
Natalia is living the life every aspiring socialite aspires to. But her life wasn't always so perfect. Growing up in a Bronx orphanage while trying to raise a foster sister moulds Natalia into a Golden Child, who will conform for the sake of survival. Trevor Su is the quintessence of wealth and crime - nothing is unobtainable to this man, leaving nothing or no one worthy of his attention. Until he meets her. She's a forbidden fruit that he seeks to inject with his venom, to claim her. But she is an heiress of a long standing rival family. To engage with the enemy outside of the war is to turn your back on the Bratva. Secrets come to light and eventually hard decisions are made.
Natalia and Trevor dated briefly in College. Then Trevor disappears unexpectedly only to reappear 4 years later. He returns to a more jaded and guarded Natalia who's not willing to fall for his sweet lies again. She's seeped so deep into his blood stream he can't think of anyone or anything else. Letting her go was the biggest regret of his life. He'll crawl to the depths of the Earth to prove he's sorry. But will acts of endearment be enough to heal the bruises only caused by first love heartbreak.
Second chance romance is so sweet and whimsical - and when an author can create characters that encapsulate the ambience of first love, who experience their first heartbreak together only to reconnect 4 years later - it imprints into the hearts and minds of the readers who have experienced similar dynamics. My husband and I are the circumstance of second chance romance - 21 years later we're still going strong.
I don't like Giovanni and how he instigated certain events. He is the juxtaposition and I stand by what I said. I don't like shit stirrers and that's what he is. I said what I said!!
She is no literary masterpiece and who cares. This was so easy to read and it ate! It was a nice fast paced read which is what I want in the New Year.
Just remembered I have free will so imma end this.cause no cause I was so disinterested and I got through 50% it was literally just misunderstanding and spice like where was the romance no where to be found tf 😭😭I think I’m officially in a reading slump જ⁀➴ Pre read- Apparently there academic rivals and I was eating up the crumbs in the first book so let’s hope this one’s better I have higher hopes
HOLY FUCK Trevor and Natalia 😭 they were perfect to me !!! Cristina, you are easily becoming one of my new favorite authors and I am forever thanking @_destinylam for recommending Angelic Vengeance !!
This is book two of the Godhood series (if you haven’t read book one or add it to your tbr, I STRONGLY recommend it as Zach has my whole heart 😫😫😫) I’m not usually someone who really reads best friend’s brother trope but I ate this UP ! On top of them being a part of rival families and now having to work together ?!? YEAH. I love a good enemies to lovers too and this was perfect !! The tension between them was hot plus the build up !?! 😮💨😮💨😮💨
I honestly adored how much Natalia grew up as a person throughout the book because ngl I wouldn’t have forgiven him that easily either 🤣 I loved how they were both hackers which is not something you usually see in mafia romances. Overall I just really enjoyed this book and it quickly became one of my favorite reads this month. I’m so excited to see what’s next in the series. I can’t wait to read about Kali and Zane 😫😫 thank you so much for the ARC once again Cristina 🫀 this was amazing !!!!
4.5 ★ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
*mafia *enemies to lovers *touch her and die *second chance
OH SLAP ME SILLY AND CALL ME OBSESSED !!! THIS SERIES ?! I NEVER WANT TO LEAVE 😭
thank you so much cristina babes for giving me the wonderful opportunity to arc read book two 🩷 omg i couldn’t put it down. these characters own my heart. every time one of them pops up i get all giggly and into the story even more. just actual perfection. i’m. obsessed.
this is book two in the series !! highly recommend reading “angelic vengeance” before jumping in because there are characters in this from book one. this is a dark mafia romance, rival families, second chance, best friend’s brother, hacker mmc and fmc, betrayal, obsession, possessive, and dual pov 💓
FUCKING A I CAN’T GET ENOUGH !!
natalia and trevor are so precious. seeing how their relationship formed in part one tugged at my heart strings 🥹 they we both so young in college and learning about each other. the way they would tease each other, compete against each other, but then also give into each other had me both frothing at the mouth and sobbing my damn eyes out 😩 in part two, the “four years later” made my heart dropped to my god damn ass !! i yearned for the moments they would spend with each other to figure out wtf who was sabotaging both of their mafia empires. after all these years the tension was still hot, their chemistry was undeniable 🤩 no matter how hard natalia tries to keep trevor was coming back into her life, fate and his obsession for her said “SIKE !! deal it with LOL !!” 😂 these two will be stuck on my mind until further notice
A MOMENT FOR MARIA AND ZACH 🧎🏻♀️ i freaking loved seeing more of them !! there were so many moments of them in this that just had me thinking about book one and i SWOONED !!this group of friends are more like family. they will do anything for each other. loyalty and honesty are their greatest treasures. i simply love them so much !!
so excited for book three OH MY GOD 😩🤌🏼 i just know it’s going to get better and better
*ARC REVIEW* this book did not disappoint even though zach and maria will always be my favs trevor and natalia come very close too i loved the past and present chapters it honestly made the book sm better
I really wanted to love this. I thought it could bring me out from this horrible reading slump but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy this at all. Well the first few chapters were good. But then the time jump happened and with the way things went after that four years skip, I got bored really quick.
This book just tried so hard to be different but in the end, it’s just like any other mafia books that I have read, with just a few twists here and there. And the characters were written like they’re not like typical mafia people but it got to the point where they were not believable and ridiculous. There’s also a lot of telling and no showing. For example, the mmc was known as a playboy. Never f*cked the same woman twice, never do missionary, bla bla bla, but throughout the story there was no ow drama at all. I mean, as someone who hate that trope, I appreciate that a lot but maybe there’s no need to label him a manho€ at all then? Because I promise you author, a mafia man with no playboy lifestyle would not make him look less mafia…. And idk if I missed it but the mmc never realized the fmc was a virgin when they hooked up the first time???? Huh…
Let’s talk about the two main characters. Sorry but the chemistry was just not quite there. The many little time skips between the chapters wasn’t helping me to connect with these two characters either. They went weeks without seeing each other throughout the book. Not to mention, I absolutely hated it when the mmc acted like he hadn’t just ghosted the fmc for four freaking years after they meet again. And the body betraying syndrome in this book was so annoying. The fmc acted all nonchalant but the seconds the mmc put his hands on her, she went all putty and immediately got wet. Like really?
A few scenes were also confusing, I literally had to read them again and yet I still ended up confused.
One of the reasons why I wanted to read this despite dnf-ing the first book in the series was because so many reviews said he’s sooooo obsessed with her but sorry, just because he hadn’t been with anyone during the time jump didn’t cut the reason why he left just like that. He’s obviously not obsessed enough (and didn’t trust her enough) to believe the lies someone told him about her without even confronting her about it because if he had then they wouldn’t have lost four years between them! I thought their second chance would be because of something far more important or significant but it was over something silly like this? So, so disappointing.
Honestly after 70% I just lost my interest and skipping here and there. Especially when the last few chapters were mostly about Zach and Maria. Idk why the author wanted to fill the last few chapters with other couple’s issue instead of writing more about the actual couple from this book. It’s so bizarre, literally felt like I was reading a different book then. And oh have I told you that Zach and Maria were the couple from the first book in the series? Yeah… don’t know why they were brought up again here and stealing the spotlight in the last few chapters when they weren’t even the main characters this time.

ok. for starters: natalia is EVERYTHING i could ever have wanted from an FMC. she is genuinely the realest written character of most books ive read, now yes i understand this is a mafia romance hence not realistic but i mean the way she was soooo unforgiving and didnt just fall right back after he apologized once had me like YESS LFG finally a girl standing on her boundaries. She feels things in such a real life way and her brains and walls with herself were everything. The mask you have to put on just to not show weakness? girl i get you 100%
i LOVED how even tho this was nat & trevors book we got SOOO much of maria & zach. you all know ive been so over the interconnected stand-alones so this was PERFF
The cybersecurity/ high stakes and the twist with her dad? better yet the gio twist?? cmon this book had me FLIPPINGGG PAGESSSS
overall genuinely so engaging, the writing was chefs kiss to the genre, the characters were GREAT. i eat this mafia stuff UP theyre so crazy i love the extremes sm😻😻
***ALSO CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE PINK DIAMOND RING???? AND NAT BEING A PINK GIRL??? hello obv im obsessed with her****

3.75⭐️ okayyy so I hate that up. So fast paced, the characters were so easy to love and there was always something going on! It was nice to learn a little bit more about their entourage and Zach and Maria from the first book, having another pov. Definitely continuing this series it seems to only get better. The only thing was the main storyline kinda ended fast for me like all that hype for it to be over in a few minutes ? Idk but I still Loved it
This was a good read but definitely not as good as the first, after a while Natalia got really annoying and whiny like Trevor could do no right she had to find something to moan about. Second chance? More like 100 chance.
Gemiddelde pallette cleanser.
Someone on booktok compared this book to The Sweetest Oblivion and while I didn't feel that same enjoyment with this book, I could understand the comparison. Divine Obsession feels like multiple books thrown into one without that it factor attached to it.
—pros
- Steam is written well enough. - Enemies to lovers - Call me toxic but loved when they fought against their connection in the second half.
—cons
- I think the main disadvantage of reading this book is that it’s reminiscent of too many other dark or billionaire novels, there isn’t a specific charm that I haven’t read before. - They described Trevor as a playboy but I don’t think we ever see him acting as one. - We seen a bit of Natalie’s background in flashbacks but I feel like what I have learned about her was never enough for me to understand why she always had to look behind her shoulder in the Bronx. - Usually I’m intrigued when characters use different languages in a book but why does he speak so many...randomly? - There was a portion of the book where the writer kept screaming at us that Trevor had a 6 pack. No, really — i saw atleast 3-4 descriptions in the same scene related back to his abs and It was distracting me from the actual scene. Same thing with Trevor's car. I get it. - Maria and Natalie’s reunion felt anti-climatic. After reading about Natalie’s relationship with Maria and her journey towards finding her but coming up short, in one timeskip, she’s just magically there. I would’ve preferred that we actually get to read the scene where they find each other than us just being told she came back. Her story of being away was pretty unbelievable too. CIA at 16? - Chapters are very fast paced and move from one scene to the next to where the story feels choppy. - Not sure why Natalie kept bringing up Kali as a reason for why it was wrong for them to be together. It didn’t seem like Kali cared at all. - The usage of glock made me laugh. - Random plot devices that I added nothing to the story -- (truth behind Natalie's mother's death, Maria x Zach arguments) - Secret villain behind the cyber attacks that I honestly didn't even remember was a character in the first half. Anti-climactic and felt too easy of an ending. - Too long of a book with some unnecessary (imo) chapters. The last minute drama at 90% of the book proves this point. I was ready to quit about 65% in but then it just kept going.

LOVE LOVE LOVE natalia and trevor, not as much as zach and maria but they’re definitely up there. The way this book had my jaw DROPPING wasn’t even funny.
After finishing angelic vengeance i knew this book was going to be about trevor and natalia but i had no idea what was actually going to happen and omg it surpassed my expectations.
Not going to lie trevor annoyed me to begin with, idek why but GOOD LAWD THE THINGS THAT MAN CAN DO TO ME, LIKE STEP ASIDE NATALIA (joking ofc, I’m not but slay)
anyways I’m so excited for the third book, i can’t get enough of all the characters 😭
Natalia’s behaviour doesn’t match her given personality. There’s a lot of emphasis on her playing the “perfect person” role, especially in the beginning — where she then turns around and does the complete opposite.
The time jumps are god awful and chop the plot, making it a little confusing. There’s a lot of things that need to be built up, that kind of just appear. Her storming down to police stations and throwing her name around is also weird — her assimilation to the family is almost laughable.
part one was cute and built up their story. part two felt so skimmed over like trevor going away, the rat, natalia’s family dynamic, and how there was no fight from the families about marriage. it felt like the author kept trying to make a good plot then didn’t want to be meticulous about the details so they just skipped past it. part two had so much about zach and maria, it was practically their epilogue.
