Murder Impossible: An enthralling and perplexing murder mystery.

Rate this book
The most audacious murder in Cornwall's history – and the killer has disappeared without a trace

Government minister Richard Knight should have been safe in his secret love nest. Instead, he became the victim of an impossible crime that has left the local police baffled and desperate. Stabbed to death in a remote cottage, yet the killer left nothing behind – no weapon, no prints, no clues.
The suspects are a humiliated wife, a greedy daughter, and environmental extremists furious about Knight's plan to grant permission for a controversial mining development.. But obvious suspects don't commit invisible murders.
Private detective Maggie Bainbridge thrives on the impossible. Partnered with deadpan ex-Met DCI Frank Stewart, she'll navigate Cornwall's treacherous coastline and even more treacherous secrets. Because somewhere in this web of betrayal and greed, a killer is hiding in plain sight.

It’s been awhile since Maggie and Frank’s last adventure but it was worth the wait. This is a brilliant and twisty mystery with topical elements included. Rob Wyllie also includes well-loved characters Eleanor, Lori, Ronnie and Jimmy. I missed Lexi and I hope she will be in the next story. I enjoyed Gemma too. Not sure how Mr. Wyllie will top this, but looking forward to his next book, whenever it comes.

such a twisty murder!

I just love Rob Wyllie‘s stories. Maggie and Frank, Jimmy, Eleanor and Lori. A lithium mine in Cornwall, the death of a government minister and his young paramour, Chinese money and environmental activists. This story was more complex than usual, but as always, Maggie and Frank work it out. I would absolutely love to be able to start at the beginning of this wonderful series as a new reader. Thank you, Rob, can’t wait for the next one!

Good to read one of these again. Doesn't take long to get back into the back stories of the characters. Good, easy to understand story.
