this second gen love story is EVERYTHING to me. i was giggling, kicking my feet, and smiling at my kindle and losing my mind every single chapter. the love? the devotion? the obsession? the longing?? THE YEARNING??? i was unwell.
dancing in the rain. writing her letters. buying her photographs. building her a HOME LIBRARY and buying all her favourite books, including classics and first/second editions. like??? be with a man who loves you. be with a man who admires you. be with a man who is fascinated by your passions. be with a man who notices every little thing about you. and DEFINITELY be with a man who’s willing to recreate your favourite spicy book scenes with you.
can we PLEASE talk about the romance in this series?? because the mmcs are SO ROMANTIC. they don’t play that emotionally unavailable nonsense. they don’t spend 80% of the book pretending they don’t care. from the very beginning, they are obsessed, devoted and completely head over heels for the fmcs. they FEEL everything. they SHOW everything. they LOVE loudly.

I was so excited to finally get Jetmir’s story. After Gabriel’s book I couldn’t wait, especially after that ending.
There were moments I felt a little disappointed that I wasn’t in love with this book as much as I thought- and wanted to be. I absolutely loved Jetmir- just like I knew I would. But Anya I had a tougher time liking, and I know it’s just because I loved Jetmir so much and hated the way he got treated and was judged for the actions of his father. Actions that happened over 20 years ago, and ones he had absolutely no part of, and from a father he never knew. He was just as much a victim as Anya’s mom.
It infuriated me how Anya blamed him for Gabriel’s blindness. It wasn’t his fault and he, Anya, and his sister Amara could have just as easily been hurt or killed. Yet everyone from her family seemed to overlook that. And it kinda had me feeling mad that Amara, didn’t have his back at all. She may have been married to Gabriel, but she still could’ve defended her brother. Jetmir never once asked her to choose sides, and he even distanced himself from her so she didn’t feel like she had to. However, when it came to Jetmir, Anya’s family didn’t like him or trust him because of his bloodline- but Amara they had no problem with. And what Anya did to Jetmir when she left, that was heartless and only made me not like her more. She automatically accused and blamed him for things and wanted to believe what they had was fake and a lie. Even when she finally admitted she still loved Jetmir, she still told herself she couldn’t be with him because her family wouldn’t like it.
I really felt bad for Jetmir. All he wanted was for Anya to admit she still loved him and for a second chance. And all Anya did for most of the book was constantly deny her feelings, say things that weren’t true, blame Jetmir for everything that happened, and put her family’s feelings before her own. Because her dad and brother didn’t like Jetmir, she couldn’t be with him. But no one ever asked Anya what she really wanted. They told her, pressured her, and ultimately I believe it was because of them that she signed those annulment papers.
Probably one of the best parts of the book was Anya’s mom, Sailor. That woman knew her daughter wasn’t happy and hadn’t been for several years, ever since she left Jetmir. Sailor knew deep down Anya loved Jetmir and knew the reason her daughter wasn’t with him was because of them.
I almost gave this book a 3-3.5, but my opinion changed around the 88% mark and I went with a 4.
Did I end up loving Anya? No, but I came around to somewhat liking her. Unfortunately for 85% of the book, I did not like her and that affected how I rated this one.
I am a huge Eva fan and have read the majority of all her books, and I’m not saying this one wasn’t just as good, I just didn’t like the mfc and her actions. But I absolutely loved Jetmir! I was definitely Team Jetmir right from the start!
Side note: I can’t believe Mateo! My heart broke. I wasn’t expecting that.

This is the second book from this series that I’ve read and I of course loved it just like the first.. the MMCs devotion towards the FMC is honestly what hooked me from the start… he was down bad for her ❤️🔥 the only thing I could have done with out is the random chapters for side characters… I feel like those could have been left out allowing more story building with the MMC/FMC

But what saddens me the most is Mateo Agosti. Eva! I love you, so please tell me Mateo’s children will get their own story because this news about Mateo just shocked me!!!

I didn’t understand his obsession with Anya. It was love at first sight because she was pretty, young, and naive? Unfortunately, the Legacy of Heathens series has been a disappointment. Then Mateo Agosti is just casually killed as a sacrifice? No mention of his story or family? We had a whole book about him!

Eva Winners delivers another addictive read with Jetmir, this time giving us an obsessive hero, a complicated love story, and a whole lot of questionable decisions that somehow make perfect sense to him.
Jetmir Volkov is definitely one of those heroes who comes with plenty of red flags, but somehow you still find yourself rooting for him. He’s intense, possessive and more than a little obsessive, but then he goes and builds his estranged wife, Anya Santos, a library filled with her favourite books, writes her actual love letters and dances with her in the rain because he knows she finds it romantic. It’s hard not to see the appeal. His methods might be questionable, but when it comes to Anya, there’s no doubting about how much he loves her. Okay, so he didn’t tell her his real name, and yes, he did kidnap her…..., and he hacked her Kindle - but then again how else was he supposed to discover her fantasies so he could bring them to life? He never claimed to be perfect!
I really enjoyed the dynamic between him and Anya. Their relationship has a smattering of angst, complicated emotions and obstacles, particularly with Anya caught between her feelings for Jetmir and her devotion to her family. There’s also some interesting history between their families that adds another layer to their relationship and helps explain some of the conflict between them with Anya’s father in particular blaming Jetmir for his father’s actions. What he fails to see is that Jetmir and his mother and sister were just as much victims of his father as everyone else. The story kept a steady pace throughout, and I liked that it didn’t feel overloaded with unnecessary drama. There are familiar faces along the way too, which was a nice touch and gave the story that sense of continuity you appreciate when you’ve been following the series.
One thing to keep in mind is that Jetmir isn’t as dark or mafia-action-heavy as some of Eva Winners’ previous books. The conflict with the triads is more of a backdrop, while the focus is really on Jetmir trying to win Anya back and repair what’s been broken between them. Personally, I thought that worked well for this particular story because it allowed more room for their relationship to take centre stage, and I didn’t find myself missing the action too much. I also liked the little glimpses laying the groundwork for what’s to come for Elira, which has definitely piqued my interest.
Overall, Jetmir was an angsty, romance-focused read with an obsessive hero who was surprisingly easy to get invested in. Some of his methods might be more suitable for an ‘unsub’ on Criminal Minds but there was something about his devotion to Anya that made their story work for me.

Thank you for the ARC!
This is my first time reading Eva Winners’ mafia series, and I think the mafia vibes in this book aren’t that strong? So I’d say this book is suitable for those who are just dipping their toes into mafia romance. 👀
To put it simply, we get a really, really, REALLY obsessed mafia man aka Jetmir, who loves Anya SO much—even after their relationship falls apart. He tries his best to make things right and win Anya back by any means necessary. 🥹❤️🔥
One thing I didn’t really like was Anya blaming Jetmir for her brother losing his vision because… it wasn’t really Jetmir’s fault!? 😭 I also kinda wish the mafia vibes were stronger in the story because I think that would’ve made it even more perfect.

I was waiting for this one, especially after reading Gabriel and Amara's book. But I had a hard time getting through it. I loved Jetmir, and I just liked Anya. So I didn't feel the need to get to the end.
Jet introduced himself to Anya using his middle name. And totally swept her off her feet.
Things were going great; they travelled to another country and got married.
Then her brother showed up looking for her, but chaos broke out.
The house was attacked, and Gabriel lost his eyesight. When Jet didn't let her go see him, she figured a way and walked away from her husband.
But vows were made, and Jet plans to stick to them.

Jetmir is the morally corrupt heir to a mafia empire, and he is ruthless, unhinged, possessive, and intense, while Anya has led a sheltered life, but the love between them leads to marriage. Lies tear them apart, buy years later their love has not diminished for each other, and Anya still harbours a lot of anger towards Jetmir, but he drags her back into his world as he is determined to convince her that they are meant to be together. I loved how Anya brings out Jetmir’s sweet, patient, and romantic side.
This is a well written easy to read, action packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, tension, lies, obsession, hidden identity, an age gap, determination, violence, humour, witty banter, intense chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, mafia romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Jetmir and his obsession is everything I longed for and more. I absolutely hated how Anya just left him but I do understand why. Jetmir did EVERYTHING for her and to prove he was worthy of her and her love. They are steamy together and it's a new Eva Winners favorite.

I went into Jetmir expecting an obsessive mafia hero, plenty of angst, and a dramatic second-chance romance. What I didn't expect was to be completely consumed by the sheer amount of yearning packed into this book. Eva Winners delivered one of the most romantic mafia romances I've read in a long time, and somehow managed to make one of the most feared men in the series into an absolute puddle of devotion.
Jetmir Volkov is ruthless, powerful, and more than a little unhinged when it comes to protecting what's his. But beneath all of that is a man who loves with an intensity that borders on obsession. The moment Anya enters his world, there's never really anyone else for him. His feelings aren't subtle, they're all-consuming. Every action, every plan, every sacrifice stems from his desire to keep her safe and bring her back to him.
What I loved most about this book is that Jetmir never pretends he doesn't care. There's no emotional distancing, no endless denial of feelings. This man is completely gone for Anya, and he owns it. Whether he's writing letters, remembering the smallest details about her, collecting things he knows she'll love, or finding ways to show her that she's the center of his universe, every page radiates devotion.
And honestly? The romance is what carried this story for me.
Yes, there are mafia politics, family tensions, secrets, betrayals, and plenty of danger, but at its core, this is a love story about two people trying to find their way back to each other after trust has been shattered. The biggest obstacle isn't whether they love each other, because that's never really in question. It's whether love alone is enough after mistakes have been made and painful truths have come to light.
Anya surprised me in several ways. It would've been easy for her to immediately forgive everything because of how deeply the feelings run between them, but she doesn't. She's hurt, angry, and struggling to reconcile the man she loves with the consequences of his choices. I appreciated that she stood her ground and forced Jetmir to earn every step toward reconciliation. Watching her wrestle with her emotions made the second-chance aspect feel much more authentic.
One of my favorite things about their dynamic was the contrast between them. Jetmir may be one of the most dangerous men in the room, but when it comes to Anya, he becomes unexpectedly patient and tender. Their relationship is full of emotional highs and lows, but it's those quieter moments, where they simply understand each other, that really stood out.
The chemistry between them is undeniable from the start. Every interaction feels charged, whether they're arguing, reconnecting, or trying to resist each other. And yes, Eva Winners absolutely delivers when it comes to the steam. The tension is off the charts, the dirty talk is excellent, and the passion between them never feels disconnected from the emotional story being told.
Beyond the romance, I really enjoyed seeing familiar faces from the series. One of the biggest strengths of Eva Winners' books is how interconnected the world feels. Every character has history, relationships, and emotional weight that adds depth to the story. Even smaller appearances from family members and past characters made the world feel richer.
What stood out most, though, was how romantic this book is beneath all the mafia darkness. In many mafia romances, devotion is often expressed through protection and possessiveness. Jetmir certainly has those qualities, but he also expresses love through attention, thoughtfulness, and genuine admiration. He doesn't just want Anya. He truly sees her. He remembers what matters to her. He listens. He notices. And for me, those moments were even more swoon-worthy than the grand gestures.
The second half of the book especially had me glued to the pages. The emotional stakes keep rising, and every reconciliation feels hard-earned. There were several moments where my heart hurt for both of them because neither is truly happy apart, yet neither can move forward until old wounds are confronted.
My only complaint is that I wanted even more time with them at the end because I became so invested in their relationship. That said, Eva Winners gave them a satisfying emotional journey that felt worthy of how much they fought for each other.

Whoa. Trust me when I say, you have not seen possessive like Jetmir-level possessive! Here I thought the other MMCs in this series had it bad. This man takes stalking, obsessive-compulsive, psychotic behaviour on another level. If you love your MMCs red-flag coded, then this book is definitely one you need to add to your TBR.
It’s a relatively fast read that you can finish in one sitting. It’s constantly progressing, yet doesn’t feel remotely abrupt. There’s plenty of backstory via flashbacks to give you a deep insight into Jetmir’s and Anya’s complicated relationship.
Although this can technically be read as a standalone, in my opinion, it can be difficult for new readers to follow or fully immerse in unless they’ve read the previous books in the series, as well books with interconnecting characters (e.g. the MCs families). Even avid, up-to-date readers may still find certain connections confusing despite Winners providing an abridged summary within this story. Now that we’re with next-gen characters, the world-building is so evolved that it can be complicated going into this book as your introduction to ‘Eva-verse”. But don’t be deterred. I highly recommend reading the author’s note advising which books interconnect so you may either start their first, or go back to it after reading this one.
This is a dark-ish, mafia romance and contains sensitive content that some readers may find disturbing and/or triggering. It broaches on matters such as graphic violence, torture, death, PTSD, and an MMC with stalking/obsessive/possessive behaviour. It’s intended for readers 18+ only.
I’m always a sucker for romance reads that involve secrecy and hidden identities, and this one hits all the right notes when it comes to that premise. Once again, Winners’ writing reels you in from within the very first chapter with its vivid setting and intriguing characters. If you’ve read enough of her books, you get a gist of her writing style, tropes most frequently used, as well as certain elements included that could easily border on repetitiveness, but then plots twists are dropped, secondary storylines are introduced, and a ton of suspense is thrown in that ends up differentiating from previous books set in this intricate world.
I enjoyed the push and pull and the constant banter (and bickering) between Jetmir and Anya. They’re your quintessential “old” married couple… except they’re not. I love that Jetmir is unforgivably relentless in his pursuit of Anya, and that he isn’t afraid to openly express his emotions and share his thoughts to her, no matter how unhealthy they may be.
Anya is stuck in a rock and hard place and I sympathise her predicament. Choosing love or choosing family. Although there’s an undeniable pull between them, there’s also no denying that their families history is complex and the reason as to why they’re enemies-to-lovers, forbidden, and in theory, why they would never work out.
I like the balance of romance to mafia elements. There are some character growth, but I would’ve liked to have seen more. However, the cast of secondary characters added another layer to the story through multiple POVs, added engaging contrasting personalities, and displayed genuine familial bonds and friendships that made for a more relatable storyline. There was also a constant sense of anticipation building up that made for a more gripping reading experience.
Overall, it’s another great addition to the Legacy of Heathens series and to the entire ‘Eva-verse’. It was nice seeing first-gen character crossovers, but I must admit, I don’t think I could ever get used to them having aged. *shrugs*
Readers who are looking for their next mafia read, should give this one a go. It’s not overly dark and has a decent level of spice, so those new to the romance sub-genre and still dipping their toes in dark romance may find this (and the rest of the series) to be a great introduction to mafia romance books.

Jetmir is book five in the Legacy of Heathens series. This is a second‑generation, forbidden, age gap‑ish, second chance mafia romance. It contains dark themes and elements, so make sure to read your trigger warnings. For maximum enjoyment, I recommend reading the first generation books first.
Jetmir was as unhinged as I expected him to be. It’s no surprise he’s obsessive, controlling, lethal, and considerably selfish. We do see his vulnerable side, though, and it’s obvious, beyond what we’ve already read, why he is the way he is. I was genuinely surprised by his romantic side when he was courting (aka stalking) Anya.
Initially, I liked Anya. She has that Latin fire you’d expect, and her sass was on point. But I got tired of her constant guilt over Gabriel and her constant blame on Jetmir when it came to anything involving Gabriel. She did have guts when it came to some of the things she pulled on Jetmir, though.
This was a lengthy book and included everything you’d expect in a mafia romance: violence, suspense, angst, humor, spice, action, plot twists, etc. With all that said, the story unfortunately ended up being extremely anticlimactic.
Nothing really happens for most of the book, and the progression/timeline is a pretty large jump. Their entire romance and marriage happen over the span of a few months. Then we jump forward three years, years they spent entirely apart. The book relies heavily on flashbacks to their whirlwind romance three years prior.
After that, it’s basically Jetmir trying to win Anya back while they have the same argument over and over again until the end. It becomes so repetitive that it’s boring. I understand that Anya was upset Jetmir kept a lot of information and truths from her in the beginning. But I don’t agree that she should blame him for what happened to Gabriel, and I’ve seen other reviews dramatically acting like Jetmir physically caused Gabriel’s pain. He didn’t. It’s not as if he advertenly set the incident in motion.
Actions have consequences, and everyone’s choices played a part: Gabriel’s, for showing up unannounced trying to act like a shot‑caller when Anya was a grown adult making her own decisions; Anya’s, for lying to her family about her whereabouts and what she was up to; Jetmir, for keeping secrets, trying to be sneaky and getting mixed up with the wrong people; and Amara for her inconsistent support and how she didn't try to instill logic and common sense to all since she has a connection to everyone.
I expected so much more from this story, and it ended up being all hype. I was sorely disappointed. There were several missed opportunities, including a casual bomb drop involving Matteo Agosti that deserved far more weight, and Elira’s characterization felt noticeably different from how she was portrayed in Gabriel’s book.
Overall, it’s an okay read with a few pivotal moments, some cute romantic scenes, and a solid happily ever after, but not enough to elevate the story. I’d give it 3 to 3.5 stars at most.

I’ve hated this book and couple way before their book even came out so I’m not surprised it was this terrible.
I know it’s a book and it’s fictional but I wish we could be a bit more realistic for a second bc no sane woman would still be swooning over a man who hurt and caused her sibling to go blind simply bc she remembers just how good he used to touch and fuck her. To say I was pissed off and disgusted during this whole book would be an understatement. I hate how no one even took this whole thing of Jet being the cause of Gabriel’s blindness. Liana was encouraging her piece of shit son to get Anya back without caring why she left him in the first place, when i know if the tables were turned and Gabriel had blinded Jet, Liana would’ve bathed in his entire family’s blood. And Sailor, someone who’s practically Gabariel’s mom since she raised him from the day he was born was playing peacemaker instead of being furious at what was done to her son. She wasn’t even mad about what was done to her son, all she cared about making sure Rafe was accepting of Anya and Jet’s relationship. She even went as far as apologizing to Liana on Rafe’s behalf for trying to kill Jet🙄
Idek how Gabriel could stomach being with Amara when she’s also to blame for deceiving and conspiring against him. And the audacity of Jet to say he was also paying the price for what happened to Gabriel just bc Anya wanted to divorce him. He wasn’t even the least bit remorseful since he was internally threatening to beat Gabriel to a pulp. He was only mad bc his actions cost him Anya. If she hadn’t left him, he wouldn’t have cared. Also one thing I’ve noticed about the second gen parents is how disgustingly weak they’ve became. They were doing dumb shit they would’ve never in a million years have done back then, even in the previous books as well. All this kumbaya shit was pathetic and embarassing. Rafe even allowed Liana to threaten him when it was her son who was in the wrong
And then there’s Anya. She was a pathetic excuse of an fmc. One who became a brainless whimpering mess from a mere wink from Jet. He didn’t even grovel. He just had to read her dumb romance book notes in order to learn the crap that made her weak at the knees and how to seduce her (I wish I was joking). Gabriel was far too forgiving and way better than me bc if any of my siblings were to ever get back with someone who caused me so much pain, I’d disown them. He deserved a better mother, sister and a wife

To say I was pissed off and disgusted during this whole book would be an understatement. I hate how no one even took this whole thing of Jet being the cause of Gabriel’s blindness. Liana was encouraging her piece of shit son to get Anya back without caring why she left him in the first place, when i know if the tables were turned and Gabriel had blinded Jet, Liana would’ve bathed in his entire family’s blood. And Sailor, someone who’s practically Gabariel’s mom since she raised him from the day he was born was playing peacemaker instead of being furious at what was done to her son. She wasn’t even mad about what was done to her son, all she cared about making sure Rafe was accepting of Anya and Jet’s relationship. She even went as far as apologizing to Liana on Rafe’s behalf for trying to kill Jet🙄
Idek how Gabriel could stomach being with Amara when she’s also to blame for deceiving and conspiring against him. And the audacity of Jet to say he was also paying the price for what happened to Gabriel just bc Anya wanted to divorce him. He wasn’t even the least bit remorseful since he was internally threatening to beat Gabriel to a pulp. He was only mad bc his actions cost him Anya. If she hadn’t left him, he wouldn’t have cared. Also one thing I’ve noticed about the second gen parents is how disgustingly weak they’ve became. They were doing dumb shit they would’ve never in a million years have done back then, even in the previous books as well. All this kumbaya shit was pathetic and embarassing. Rafe even allowed Liana to threaten him when it was her son who was in the wrong
And then there’s Anya. She was a pathetic excuse of an fmc. One who became a brainless whimpering mess from a mere wink from Jet. He didn’t even grovel. He just had to read her dumb romance book notes in order to learn the crap that made her weak at the knees and how to seduce her (I wish I was joking). Gabriel was far too forgiving and way better than me bc if any of my siblings were to ever get back with someone who caused me so much pain, I’d disown them. He deserved a better mother, sister and a wife

Jetmir is the fifth book in the Legacy of Heathens Series, a second-generation series that can be read as a standalone. And… everyone should read it!
According to the story synopsis, Jetmir Thorne Volkov-Tijuana is described as a “morally corrupt heir to a mafia empire. A beautiful monster wrapped in tailored suits and bloodstained promises.” Yes, he definitely is but he is so much more than that and I loved getting to know him better. He is obsessive about Anya because he adores her. He single-handedly brings back Romance with a capital R. The things he does to show his love put other men to shame. Honestly, he did stuff up at the beginning, but he is what all women want—a man who knows his partner inside and out and proves it.
Anya is such a sweetheart who gets her heart broken, there is no doubt. However, even she admits she struck back in an extremely dangerous manner. For Anya, she has her brain tell her the practical things but her heart telling her the emotional things. The other side of the story is that Anya is obsessed with Jetmir just as much as he is with her, she is just quieter about it!
This story was more about the relationship between Anya and Jetmir than the underworld. It played a part in the story but not a huge part and I always love the intricacies of this writer's mafia shenanigans (putting it nicely).
I loved previous characters making cameo roles and even a couple telling the story from their point of view as complete chapters. Sailor is and always will be the most gracious lady, turning her back on her traumatic experiences and moving forward to help others—I just love her. I will admit to being shocked out of my seat about one particular character but 🤐.
I know some readers are still reeling from the shock of what happened to Gabriel but you need to remember to trust the process and read this book.

It’s been awhile since I’ve read a Mafia romance where the man falls in love with a woman so deeply that he ends up being his own worst enemy and that is what happens to Jetmir. Reviewer truth, I want my own Jetmir! He loves Anya, needs Anya, and so much more.
Admirably, the same happens to Anya for a short amount of time. Time which ends their marriage quicker than I’ve ever seen. But then again…..did they both bring this to an end because they didn’t talk to each other.
If your a follower of Author Eva Winners you will know part of the reason that everything falls about quickly, but can it all fall on Jetmir’s shoulders?
The heat between Anya and Jetmir could be described in so many ways. Spicy, amazing dirty talk and it goes on. The quote I started this review with shows you just how far gone he is….and Anya with happily tell you their sex life is hotter that you can imagine….it’s miscommunication, which then turns into one of them believing that an incident the regular readers will know about.
With parent’s who are overprotective (see: Mafia Father’s who are far to possessive of their daughters and their wives) you will begin to see why Jetmir did what he needed to do…TWICE!
This book is chalk full of hot mafia men, wiser mafia mothers and a group who has always been a blight of the world…(ok very very bad men) on top of that, Jetmir is trying his best to make sure that someone who needs a medical intervention will get it in a legal way!
Have I convinced you yet??? Listen….I loved this book, I loved these characters, I had to have a face to face talk with some of the mafia parents in this book and at the end I had to give this book 5 stars!

Let me start by saying that we were stuck in the rain yesterday. We're in August; that isn't supposed to happen! 😂 A thunderstorm, heavy rain, and wind… we were drenched, and all I could think about was Jetmir and Anya's dance and kiss in the rain (I'm a hopeless romantic). Until it wasn't fun anymore. 😂😂
The Queen is back, and she delivered another great book!
I’ve been waiting for Jetmir’s story since we met him. I honestly couldn't believe the Jetmir we met before could be this nice and gentle. His only objective was to get Anya, his wife, back and convince her that they were meant to be together! Apparently, when love knocks on your door, even a devil can be tamed by the angel he falls for. ❤️
Jetmir was obsessive, possessive, intense, and completely gone for his angel. Underneath all that ruthlessness, he was surprisingly sweet, patient, and incredibly romantic. The letters, the photographs, the library filled with her favorite books… and, of course, the rain... Anya was a little harder for me to connect with. I understood her anger, guilt, and the pressure she felt, but sometimes I wanted to shake her: “He’s doing all that for you!!! He’d do anything to get you back!” 😅 I know he tricked her and hid his identity when they first met but I loved watching them fight for their second chance despite all her reluctance and her fighting her feelings for most of the book.
This was more romance-focused and lighter on the mafia action. Eva's earlier books have definitely been darker, but I didn't mind that here. I actually loved watching this arrogant, powerful man completely lose himself over the woman he loved. The family connections, familiar faces, and little glimpses of what's coming next were a great addition to the story. I can’t wait for Elira's story!
Eva Winners is still one of my favorite authors when it comes to international mobsters, obsessive men, and addictive romance. Another “Winners” for me! 🖤

This book is really all about Jetmir Thorne Volkov-Tijuana. His last name alone holds a stigma in the underworld because both his grandmother and his father did deplorable things. For this reason, Anya Santos's father, Raphael (Belles & Monsters #5), goes off the deep end when he finds out Jetmir married his daughter under a false name. Anya feels betrayed by Jet's deception, and she feels guilty when her brother, Gabriel, is seriously injured in an explosion coming after her. The story time jumps ahead three years after Jetmir "agrees" to an annulment to avoid an all-out war between the families because of his and Anya's "unsanctioned" marriage. He openly vows to get her back while she smiles and pretends to be over him. For three years, Jetmir has been planning and waiting to make his move to get his beloved "angel" back. Anya fell in love and married Thorne, has had three years to reconcile that Thorne and Jetmir are the same person, carries guilt that her actions led to Gabriel's blindness, and still secretly pines for her (ex)husband.
I really liked Jetmir character in this book. His upbringing and lineage played a central part in how people viewed and treated him all his life. Using his middle name when he first met Anya, gave Jetmir the anonymity for her to fall in love with him without the stigma of his family name, which as soon as she found out the truth, she ran back to her family. Her character was rather boring. I couldn't understand why she placed all the blame on Jetmir for what happened to Gabriel, since her actions were the primary reason he was in the house. Anyway, this was a 3.5 star read because of some of the OG characters playing supporting roles.

We officially need a new 'Jetmir-level' on the possessive scale because this man is completely unhinged!
Jetmir Thorne Volkov-Tijuana brought it all – obsession, longing, possessiveness, and devotion, showing exactly how an unhinged, morally grey hero can fall hard and fast. He is a walking red flag, bringing toxicity to a whole new level while also, dare I say it, being a touch sweet.
Yes, he lied by introducing himself using his middle name; yes, he manipulated her by hiding that he only met her to get back at her brother Gabriel (though one look at her and he was a goner); and yes, he even kidnapped her. But he also begged for forgiveness, fixed his mistakes, casually stalked her just to keep her safe, and showed his Angel that no one could love her more. Jetmir is the definition of whipped, and I’m so here for it.
He declares his love, writes love letters, and catalogues every little detail that makes up Anya, right down to her dream of owning a cute puppy. He totally owns that his feelings are all-consuming. While there is a lot of background noise with family disputes and history keeping them apart, Jetmir’s love wins out in the end.
This book brought tears, giggles, a whole lot of steam, and off-the-charts chemistry. It's a mafia romance with dark moments, driven by deeply swoon-worthy obsession.
I think we might need a new 'Jetmir-level' on the possessive scale to rate future fictional men, because he took chaotic, intense, unhinged, and psychotic behaviour to a whole new level!
