She’s been invisible for years. To him, she’s impossible to ignore.
Ivy Lambourne gave up everything to save her family’s crumbling estate—her career, her dreams, even her sense of self. Now she’s running on empty, carrying a legacy that was never hers alone. Her latest mission? Seal a high-stakes offshore drilling deal in the remote wilds of Alaska and keep her family’s future intact.
She expects resistance. She doesn’t expect Ryder Meyer.
The former SEAL keeps his world small—just him and his daughter. No risks. No attachments. The last thing he needs is a polished British heiress barging into his quiet Alaskan life—and under his skin.
But Ivy isn’t what he expected. Beneath the cool exterior is a woman breaking under the weight of duty. And for the first time in years, Ryder wants to step in. To protect her. To be the man who finally sees her.
But the closer she gets, the clearer it becomes—this deal was never meant to end clean. And when sabotage turns deadly, Ryder will break every rule he’s lived by to keep her breathing.
If you're the kind of reader who loves high-stakes romance grounded in real-world research—with damaged military heroes, complex plots, and women who won't be rescued—hello. You're my people.
I write intense, tightly plotted protector romance with covert ops, real-world threats, and hard-won love. My heroes have protection in their bones and loyalty in their hearts. My heroines are smart, self-reliant, and ready to fight—for others, for justice, for love.
Still mad Ripley never got with Hicks? Me too. So I fix that—with heat and redemption.

The SEAL's Duchess, Book 2 of the Alaskan Guardians series, by Theresa Beachman is a thoroughly enjoyable read. British aristocrat Ivy Lambourne and Ryder Meyer fall quickly for each other when she and her brother come to invest in an offshore oil rig with the hope of making money and saving her family estate. The oil representatives of BlackRock Deepwater Vega are as slick as the oil they are leeching from the environment. Since Ivy is an engineer, she is more concerned with safety protocols, a healthy environment, the Alaskan people, and a sound investment. That interferes with the oil representatives’ plans; Ivy’s brother is easier to shmooze, so they try to get rid of Ivy. However, Ivy is a “lady” in name only; in life, she is a down-to-earth fighter and my kind of heroine. As the oil rig begins to implode and explode, so does the tension in this book. Readers will be on the edge of their seats as Ivy, Jack (her friend and rig worker), and Ryder fight for their lives when Mother Nature destroys the steel parasite in her ocean. I loved this story, and I am so glad I received a free copy of this book through Booksprout for my honest review.
Loved this book. Romance, action, suspense and intensity.
Ivy and her brother George the Duke of Lamborne were in Alaska, looking to invest in an oil rig, and Coastguard medic Ryder is on hand to escort them.
I instantly enjoyed Ryder's character. Masculine and strong but also caring. Protective and adored his three year old daughter Ellie. But his fast fascination of Ivy was so great to experience.
Along with the great romance though, there was a mystery and suspense element not to be missed.
So well done. Everything about this book was so good and I enjoyed the ending especially. Fantastic book!!.

Ryder and Ivy take you on a deeply emotional journey. From the moment they meet, the sparks are off the charts—their push and pull practically leaps from the pages. Their connection is magnetic, their attraction undeniable, and the emotional turmoil they both endure tugged at my heart while also leaving me frustrated.
Ryder’s family radiates warmth and comfort, and little Ellie is absolutely adorable, making you want to shout at them to figure things out quickly. The danger they face holds you suspended in worry, and when the brave rescue comes, all that’s left is waiting breathlessly for them to claim their HEA.
This was a fantastic book. I was absolutely absorbed in the story. It’s a romantic suspense, but the real action doesn’t kick in until at least halfway through. I only realized that after I had finished the book, though. I was so wrapped up in the relationship between Ryder and Ivy that the promised action could have never come and I wouldn’t have noticed. It was just that good. The other characters were enjoyable, too. And Ryder’s little girl, Ellie, was such a sweetheart. I applaud Beachman for writing a realistic child and not a too-wise-for-her-years kid like so many authors do. Somehow Beachman was also able to make the Alaskan setting come alive, too—I could feel the bite of cold, the chill of the wind. And when the action did kick in it had me on the edge of my seat. I knew Ryder and Ivy would make it through but the writing was that engrossing I found myself anxious and tense as I read. This book was incredible and I highly recommend it. I can’t wait for the next in the series.
I liked these two as characters and I liked seeing them get to know each other, that he took the time to really see her and could admit when he was wrong. I really liked seeing them fall for each other even though I worried that their lives and responsibilities would pull them apart. I enjoyed getting to know everyone and trying to work out what was happening and why. I liked the balance of the story and it held my attention from start to finish.

An awesome story. Ryder is an ex Seal, a medic and works for the Coast Guard in Alaska. He is also a single dad raising his daughter. Ivy and her brother George come to Alaska for business. They are looking into buying a oil rig. Things do not go according to plan. She meets Ryder and they are attracted to each other and fight it for different reasons. What will happen? Danger is close.

Ivy has always done what was expected her whole life. The load has gotten heavy and she just wants someone she can lean on for a change. You're going to love this story because Ivy has inner strength, strong bonds of doing what's right, and doesn't let money or standing influence her attitude towards others. You'll also meet Ellie an adorable 3 year old.

This book is amazing. Ivy is such a strong character and doesn't let anyone get in the way. Ryder has spent too many years trying to protect himself from hurt. The plot is wonderful. The characters, from Navy Seal Coast Guard rescue to British nobility. They fit together wonderfully.
This was an excellent story. I loved Ellie, she was a sweetheart and a bundle of joy for a 3 year old. Ryder and Ivy are an unlikely pair, can they overcome their differences? They face their challenges, danger and if she can live in Alaska. HEA.
I love the writing style of this author. She packs in so much emotion, action and great storyline’s in her books. Loved the characters, and looking forward to reading more in this series.
