Since coming to Stillwell University to complete the degree he left unfinished seventeen years ago, everything's gone Jackson Avery's way. His relationships with Yukiko and Samantha Lowry are stronger than ever, and it seems like every girl in the Delta Rho sorority wants to get to know him a little better.
But when the one person who CAN'T find out about his unconventional relationship turns up on his doorstep, the secret life Jack's been living is finally thrust into the spotlight. Convincing his boss's daughter of his good intentions is difficult, but Jack's got a whole sorority full of confident women to back him up. Even if he can't bring her around, he's ready to weather the blow and go to the mat to preserve what he's built with his women.
But Marcie's not the only thing Jack needs to worry about. The town's matriarch hasn't forgotten what he did to her son, and her counterattack comes when Jack and his women least expect it...
A labyrinthine tangle of plots, relationships and university and corporate intrigue! The characters are certainly marvelous in their detail and the whole story just keeps me waiting for more.
Do I Pledge The Fifth? Well, I'm not giving 'Pledged To Him 5' by Neil Bimbeau those 5 Stars, but the story is good enough FOR what it is. They all are. If I had to rank them, I would put them in order as follows: 2, 4, 1, 3, and 5. Seems about right?
Being the fifth part again, it was fun until the end, but it was not in any way special, ha! As for my favorite parts, do you need to ask? The "relations." Samantha and Kiki. And now there's Tasha. And the whole acknowledgment of the Harem idea with Jack now.
Reaching the ending wasn't exactly a twist and probably scares everybody in our age. I'm all in to the end, but to introduce anyone to this… Um, I'd rather not.
This book plays out worse than any daytime soap.. everyone just ignores and forgots everything reasonable or intelligent. So it can all blow up in everyone's faces. Ignore every warning sign, forget every fact, and pretend nothing bad is going to happen dispite all information. I have loved the first 4 books of this series but this one was much less.
I think this series just went from a man rebuilding himself slice of life. To teenage soap drama with this last book. I hope the next book is better.
The idiocy of all these “emergencies” that happened is just stupid. The vast majority of it is insanely illegal. Even if they wanted to hurt jack and the girls the types of evidence and such they’re presenting was acquired by means that would leave them all open to criminal and civil cases. The mother would be sued into oblivion with slam dunk cases. Apparently the author doesn’t know crap about the actual legal system and just went for the shock value.
Jake wants his 2, eventual wives, but is still playing the field adding more women he's actively having sex with. He is also still taking college courses with his Boss's daughter that doesn't like his 2 timing her 2 friends. Tough situation... now the mother of a former student is causing problems for Jake and everyone involved with him, its a bit stressful...
The series was fun, but I'm not intrested in seeing where it will go.
My Big Criticism is when you had the female black police officer love interest say that she specifically only likes white men. In this day where division runs rampant in our country, I found it highly offensive as a black man that you would have this view expressed by one of your characters. This type of genre really features a black male as the mc, therefore the idea or need to express that by a black woman or any woman is for me really offensive!
The author does an excellent job of discovery between the characters - what they want and who they want to be. The story moves at a quick pace with numerous plots. This series is one of the best available and I will hate to see it end. Bring on Book 6!!!
The story continues with further developments. The challenges the main characters encounter in this volume add a richness and realism to the overall story arc. I immediately began reading the next volume as soon as I finished the fifth book of the series. I enjoy the characters' complexity and the expanding experience. The erotic scenes are natural and not forced into the storyline.
Well, this whole series just got a lot more interesting either way that turn of event ending! Can I get the next book now, please? Wow, this one was a rollercoaster and I loved it! I can’t wait to see where this story goes now!
See my review of book 1, but the series has grown on me a little, partly because an actual plot with some conflict has developed. I'd keep reading if more books were already published; will I come back to this later? Probably not, but we'll see.
