If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat ~ Some books aren't just read — they're felt & this story is felt, right to the core!
Lesley jones has perfectly blended humour, sarcasm, banter & raw emotion seamlessly with this book ~The Interview is equal parts steamy & emotional, layered with laugh-out-loud moments.
From the very first chapter, I was hooked. As the past is revisited, secrets are revealed.
This phenomenal story had me crying, smiling, aching & swooning. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was truly brilliant.
The Interview HAS to be read after the Carnage series (available in KU now)
I honestly don’t know where to start with this review, only to say PLEASE read this one ~ I’m sat here with tears streaming down my face, I honestly feel like nothing I write will do justice to how phenomenal this story is.
This series has been one of my all time favourites after meeting Lesley at a book signing. I took a punt on a ‘new to me author’ ~ Thank goodness I did !
What can I say about this series that hasn’t already been said ? It has broken my heart over & over again. Lesley is forgiven as she has put it back together again and again made me fall more in love with her characters (if that’s possible)
We’ve got to know them so much over the years that I now feel as if they are imbedded into my heart.
I adore this family, I can hear their Essex tone coming from the pages !
My husband & his family are from Essex & the east end of London so I completely get the banter & ribbing that they have. The unquestionable love for each other.
When news that an unofficial biography of Sean McCarthy’s life & Carnage is being talked about. Georgia decides to take control & tell the truth about what life was like for her & Carnage.
Writing the wrongs, lies & misconceptions that have been spewed out & reported over the years. She puts herself out there, openly discussing some of the best & worst moments of her life. All to write the wrongs, highlighting current issues & raising money for the foundation she now runs
Georgia has previously wanted to protect her children from the ugliness of the media.
In doing so she publicly shows the world who she really is. How strong, compassionate, selfless she is, all the while never straying away from her ferocity when needed.
We get to see a more vulnerable side to Cam too. Cam gave Georgia a reason to live, to believe in herself. He’d lay down his life for Georgia & their children but being part of the Layton family can be intimidating. The way he's so selfless & caring. I can't deal. I love that man.
Lesley has given us a ‘Fly on the wall’ glimpse & shown us the unconditional bonds that tie them together. They’re a rowdy bunch but when they love, they love with their whole hearts. something fierce !

I feel like this was such a beautiful and fitting conclusion to the whole band story — it wrapped everything up perfectly.
The book follows a tell-all interview format, where a journalist starts out interviewing Georgia, but it soon turns into a full family affair. We get to hear from everyone — Georgia, the brothers who make up the band, Cam, the children, the wives — literally the whole family. It becomes a multi-perspective retelling of everything that happened, and it’s fascinating to finally see the truth from every angle.
One of the biggest revelations was that Sean did, in fact, cheat on Georgia with Carla. Before Marley caught them in the kitchen, Sean had already received oral sex from her in the studio. Then we learn that Marley ends up having a son from the last threesome he had before meeting his wife — the same threesome he had with Sean while they were abroad at a concert. When they returned home, that’s when Sean got together with Georgia, and Marley met her friend — which adds another interesting layer to the story.
We also find out that the eldest brother, who managed the band, knew about Sean and Carla’s affair in the studio and kept it a secret. There are a few other secrets that come out from their time on tour, and eventually, the entire family finds out about Georgia and Cam sleeping together.
What I really loved was how the story is told from everyone’s perspective — Ash, Marley, Cam, Georgia, Jimmy, Len, everyone. It gives so much depth to the story. Seeing things from Cam’s point of view was especially emotional; he’s so kind, grounded, and supportive. By the end, you almost feel like the real love story isn’t between Georgia and Sean, but between Georgia and Cam.
Sean and Georgia’s relationship was passionate and intense — perfect for the moment they were in — but Georgia and Cam’s love feels deeper, more mature, and truly lasting. Cam is just exceptional. Honestly, I think I’m going to go back and reread Cam’s book because I can’t quite remember the part about his son!
Another really touching aspect is how Georgia has dream-like conversations with Sean throughout the book. In these moments, Sean speaks to her as if he’s still there — apologizing for what he did and reflecting on how they both hurt each other. Those scenes were written so beautifully; they genuinely brought tears to my eyes.
And then, there’s another revelation — it turns out that Sean never actually slept with the girl in Paris (which was what originally caused the breakup between him and Georgia). Instead, we learn that he had been drugged and assaulted, which adds a whole new layer of heartbreak to his story.
The ending also sets up what I think will be the next book — focusing on Len’s daughter and her relationship with the son of the couple who caused Georgia and Sean’s initial breakup. That teaser has me so excited for what’s coming next.
Honestly, I loved this book. Lesley Jones just writes with so much raw emotion — her stories make you feel everything. This entire series has been incredible, and every single book has been a five-star read for me. Whenever I want to feel something deeply — that gut-punch, emotional connection — I come back to this series. It’s just that good.

The Carnage series is my top recommendation for anyone looking for angst and heartbreak that tears you apart but puts you back together in the end. If you haven’t read this series you need to now.
I loved being back in this world and seeing these characters in their 50’s, as close as ever, with their kids grown up and out of the house.
Seeing different point of views from the traumatic things they faced was truly heartbreaking to relive but gave clarity to so many things.
The things we thought we knew from on POV, was completely different from another.
The plot twists, the drama, the angst was everything I needed.
Cameron King will FOREVER be my top book boyfriend/husband.
I can’t wait to see what else is in store for this world.
I loved being back in this world and seeing these characters in their 50’s, as close as ever, with their kids grown up and out of the house.

If anyone assumes this is simply a retelling of the first books, they couldn't be more wrong. This is so much more than that. Yes, we revisit those heart-wrenching moments for Gia, Sean, and to some extent Cam, and they remain just as emotionally powerful even though we know the outcome. But this book serves as a balm for that grief, revealing how Georgia has navigated her life over the past twenty-five years or so.
The way Lesley has crafted this story around 'The Interview' creates something beautiful, it makes you believe that Gia and Macca truly did find their own version of a happy ending, one that feels both meaningful and satisfying even if it was sad. As for Cam, while I have and will always be firmly Team Sean, I might just have to adjust my allegiance to 60/40 in his favour now. What a man TDH is!
If you're hesitant about reading this book—as I was—don't be. You will probably get emotional but it might just be exactly what you need to help you feel better.

This is a beautifully written emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, deceit, secrets, lies, loyalty, plot twists, humor, witty banter, trauma, revelations, obstacles, passion, and unconditional love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, heartwrenching, haunting, unpredictibale, and heartwarming addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

The Interview is book 6 in the Carnage series so you must read all previous books before this one. The interview is somewhat a retelling of the whole sorted emotional saga.
The Carnage series has and will always be one of my TOP favorite series ever. I have great love for this story and these characters as I feel I’m a part of this wonderful group of characters I call my “Carnage family”.
As always the writing was spectacular. Filled with so much emotion and many heartfelt moments. Every now and then a book series captures me so intently I could read book after book and on. This is one of them. I can’t tell how many times I got giddy every time my Cam walked into the room. This man… oh what a gem!! Like no other!
I highly recommend this whole series if you’re looking for angst, emotion and to fall in love with a series that will live with you always!

Hello again
I read this series several years ago after having it on my TBR for years. It gave me the book hangover of the century, and it's easily one of those stories I could read over and over again because of all the emotions I felt while reading. This book is a "years later" book...a look into the future of the host of characters from the series.
I absolutely love what this author did with this book. She brought in just enough nostalgia from the series to make my heart ache, but inevitably gave us fresh insight into a lot of details that i'm sure most readers were curious about. I gotta admit, I got a little misty eyed at parts because past hurts get brought up that really tugged at my heart. But the love of all these characters really shone strong in this book, and I love that through it all, there was no regrets, only love.
Georgia remains one of my favorite heroines ever because of her strength through it all. And her leading man as always knocks me off my feet with his love for her.

This book highlights what a sweetheart of a man Cameron is. It can't be easy for him, yet he manages to cope with grace and strength, showing understanding, love, and compassion for Georgia. The truth is finally out and by those who lived it.

Loved this book. It did not disappoint, Just as good as the rest of the series. Gives you all the feels and you will need tissues at the ready. Goes into more details of Georgia's life as well as the rest of the family's point of view.

Blast from the Past
I wasn’t sure what to expect when this was coming out. Other than G giving an interview and setting the record straight on things that happen, I didn’t know what to expect. I was hoping for more insight on things that were not in books 1-3. And there was just not many. I loved being back in the Carnage world. I just wish there was a lot more to the story than what just rehashed from books 1-3. Now there was also a juice piece of something pertaining to Marley in the end that I would love to know more and I am also looking forward to the Definition of Insanity. Overall it was good and it was nice to be back with the Layton’s and Kings, but I was hoping for more of a story and not just stuff we already knew from the other books.

I graciously received an ARC of this book. This was probably the best surprise I have had all year when I found the link for this book in my email yesterday morning almost 4 weeks prior to the release date. I have been waiting so long for this to come out.
I don’t have words to describe this book. Perfect is not good enough. I am emotionally exhausted and I LOVE IT! This is exactly what I want from a book.
There are so many secrets and confessions revealed. Things from previous books I thought understood got turned upside down. You get perspectives from most of the main characters in the first five books.
Georgia’s dreams were so vivid, it felt like I was there.
I was crying in the prologue and laughing out loud in chapter 1.
I know these are fictitious characters but they feel so real to me. They come alive as I’m reading and I feel all their emotions as they experience them (tears, laughter, anger).
Lesley Jones knocked its out and deserves an award for this one. They also need to make a movie from this series. It’s one of my all time favorite series. Now we anxiously await Paige’s book…

There were parts I liked and parts I did not.
This book was extremely repetitive. Besides a few new revelations that were revealed, I kinda thought this book was unnecessary. I skimmed through unnecessary dialogue and the parts that were redundant.
I enjoyed that Georgia finally accepts her life as is and seems more at peace mentally & emotionally.

I honestly didn't think it was possible that Lesley Jones could devastate my heart again. But with The Interview, she does just that as we once again relive the love and loss that is Georgia Layton and Sean McCarthy and the aftermath that is both beautiful and heartbreaking. I loved that Jones is offering Georgia the chance to set the record straight and own the narrative that is and was her life. With her extended family by her side, this latest in the exceptional Carnage series gives us even more of a perspective of what Georgia is willing to share with a well-known reporter/blogger/influencer, with some secrets I'm glad will never see the light of day. As the memories come flooding out of Georgia's mind, even though it's most of what we already knew from the first 5 books, I was taken aback by the guilt felt by her brothers, in particular, that perhaps things could have and should have been different.
The book brings out a whirlwind of emotions as the rawness felt by every single family member present for the interview is a bit overwhelming at times. Georgia's kids, hearing about a life before them had to hit hard, but their ability to be themselves, which can be loud, offensive and downright hysterical, was always exactly what their mother needed. In the end, however, it's their unwavering support that steals Georgia's breath away, knowing how fortunate she truly is despite all she has had to endure.
However, when it comes to the true hero of this book and this ongoing storyline, Cam King is forever the standout. The way he knows his Kitten, when she needs a supportive arm around her or a naughty wink when things get too much to bear, this husband of Georgia's is unmatched. The care he takes in offering to shut the whole interview down many times over shows just how committed to her mental well-being Cam continues to be. I just adore him. He's now in his 60s (!) and is as sexy and charming as ever. Georgia's pain was his pain and his rare vulnerability broke me more than once. But I was very glad that many questions were answered and a true appreciation for the big man was shown to Cam. You could sense his relief that he was exactly where he should be, memories be damned.
I loved that Jones has aged this crew to where they are all in their 50s and still battling past demons that can finally be put to rest. It's a hard journey as each day Georgia baring her soul brings up past pain for Marley, Lennon, Ash and Jimmie. Georgia is amazing in her unrelenting desire to keep her family safe, to love them for who they are, and for knowing that she is beyond fortunate to have them. A woman who has been loved by two wonderful men is very lucky in my book, but I think she'll always struggle a bit with her past. With Cam, however, by her side, I know she'll always find a way to accept her faults and realize her strengths. He's simply her perfect match.
With a 7th book on the horizon, I so look forward to the next generation of Carnage and the secrets we've been teased with at the end of The Interview. This series is Lesley Jones at her very best. It's like she was born to write about these remarkable characters and I hope she continues to update us on their lives for many years to come.

The book brings out a whirlwind of emotions as the rawness felt by every single family member present for the interview is a bit overwhelming at times. Georgia's kids, hearing about a life before them had to hit hard, but their ability to be themselves, which can be loud, offensive and downright hysterical, was always exactly what their mother needed. In the end, however, it's their unwavering support that steals Georgia's breath away, knowing how fortunate she truly is despite all she has had to endure.
However, when it comes to the true hero of this book and this ongoing storyline, Cam King is forever the standout. The way he knows his Kitten, when she needs a supportive arm around her or a naughty wink when things get too much to bear, this husband of Georgia's is unmatched. The care he takes in offering to shut the whole interview down many times over shows just how committed to her mental well-being Cam continues to be. I just adore him. He's now in his 60s (!) and is as sexy and charming as ever. Georgia's pain was his pain and his rare vulnerability broke me more than once. But I was very glad that many questions were answered and a true appreciation for the big man was shown to Cam. You could sense his relief that he was exactly where he should be, memories be damned.
I loved that Jones has aged this crew to where they are all in their 50s and still battling past demons that can finally be put to rest. It's a hard journey as each day Georgia baring her soul brings up past pain for Marley, Lennon, Ash and Jimmie. Wrecked, shattered, full on sobbing
When Lesley Jones announced she was writing another book in the Carnage series I knew there needed to be copious amounts of tissues, alcohol, and chocolate on hand. I was not wrong! THE INTERVIEW was an emotional rollercoaster of EPIC proportions. Laughter, rage, sobbing, frustration, and so much love, all woven in the pages of a book I never knew I needed.
Georgia McCarthy King has decided it was time to tell her story, to be brutally honest and debunk all the lies, misconceptions, and rumours which had been circulating for years. Georgia's strength comes to the forefront, her love for her family, for Sean, for Cam, on full display. This is a warts and all interview, the devastation of loss, the fierceness of protection, the rage at betrayal, and the undeniable love for family. When Marley and then Lennon joined the conversation, I didn't think I'd survive, my heart shattered at the unbelievable pain these men experienced. Then in the next minute I would be howling with laughter because of the insults, sarcasm, and jokes this close-knit family made at the expense of each other.
While THE INTERVIEW shattered me and turned me into a sobbing mess, there was so much to love about it. It was raw, unfiltered, honest, and filled with so much love and compassion. The Layton family were united, they stood by their own, and never more was this shown than in the support they continually gave each other over the course of the interview. Then there was Cam, this man has been through so much, yet there he was offering all the comfort, support, and love to the woman who held his heart.

I loved the sequences with Sean, they were the icing on the cake, showing him as the lover, the husband, the joker, the man who would always be there for her. Thank you, Lesley, for giving us this amazing family from Essex. They may be dysfunctional at times, loud, and crazy, but they are one that loves unconditionally. Then you had to throw in the twist of all twists ... and that one was a doozy!!!!!

Just when you've been lolled into a false sense of security, and you feel like you've recovered from the gut punch that is Carnage, BAM here comes Lesley with more Sean, G and Cam. At this point, I think I need to be assessed because I must be a masochist. These books absolutely wreck you and STILL we keep coming back for more.
It's been nearly a decade since I read book one and truthfully the finer details escape me because it is not the kind of book I can reread. But it is the kind that stays with you. The visceral feelings it set off. All these years later and I can remember absolutely bawling my eyes out at 3am because I just had to know how it ended. Now, getting to revisit all this again but with the distance of time, for both me and Georgia it would seem, it has helped blunt some of it, to be sure but without spoilers, her dreams? Gah. Still get teary-eyed thinking about it. This story really is so big it feels larger than life. Maca, the shooting star, Georgia the Earth, and Cam the Moon stuck in her gravitational pull.
Imagine if you will, walking through all the trauma associated with some of your worst moments. How? With the help of a loud and boisterous family, both blood and found of course. With the love of a rock solid man at your back, everything is possible. It was bittersweet, going through everything again, knowing how it ends, knowing sometimes things just happen. But getting to visit with all these lovely characters; these crazy nutters who love as fiercely as they fight. There's comfort knowing that exists somewhere, even if it's only in the pages of a book.
And then there's Cameron King. Calling him top tier book boyfriend material always feels offensive to Cam because even in his early appearances, he was all man. Rock solid, steady. My favourite part of this one was watching his realize he's more than even he thought he was. How do you live in someone's shadow without feeling dwarfed? Well, Cam doesn't, that's how, and we love him for it. So thank you Ms. Jones. Thank you for sharing this fiercest of all romantic heroes. And for writing one of the most memorable stories I've ever had the good fortune to read.
So, if you've read the first 5, grab this one. Bring your emotional support (Insert item) and gird your loins because as always, you'll laugh, rage, swoon, and cry. Georgia is all the things and doesn't disappoint. If you haven't read the others, then wtf are you waiting for?? Go!

The Interview is a deeply moving, layered addition to Lesley Jones’s Carnage universe, one that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. This time, the spotlight is on Georgia, and the long-awaited interview that finally gives her the space to share her truth. Not all of it, of course, as some pieces remain tucked safely within the walls of her family, but enough to finally make sense of her lingering sadness and the shadows of her past. But this isn’t just Georgia’s story. It’s the whole family. Ms. Jones cleverly shifts lenses, giving readers intimate access to multiple perspectives. Marley’s chapters are especially emotional, heavy with the guilt he has carried for years. Len’s viewpoint, too, delivers one of the biggest shocks in the book and an unveiling so massive it reframes past events and adds a new layer of justified hatred toward Haley and Rocco. (and oh boy, it was a huge secret.)
And then there’s Cam. Steadfast, strong, and as devoted as ever. His unwavering love for Georgia remains one of the emotional anchors of the story. Watching their children absorb the interview, studying the old photographs, and beginning to understand their mother in a way they never had before is both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
Jimmy and Ash bring their voices to the table, rounding out a narrative that balances intense sadness with unexpected humor and several moments that make you stop and think. And the love you feel for both, after you hear their side of the story, and how they had their own story within the story of Maca and Georgia.
While many of the events covered in The Interview echo earlier books, hearing them retold from different angles and emotional standpoints gives the story a fresh twist. This isn’t a rehash, it’s a reframing, an opportunity to see the whole mosaic rather than just individual tiles.

The Interview I Didn’t Know I Needed
I finished The Interview.
Yes, I cried.
Sobbed actually.
I didn’t think it was possible to love this series more.
I was wrong.
The original characters and now their kids…d@mn if Lesley Jones didn’t write sheer perfection with this. I knew the story, but the way it was told in this book, with everyone jumping in…how am I going to move on?
I originally read the first 5 books four years ago. The story and the characters stayed with me, as well as the emotional devastation I experienced. When I find a story I love, I reread it. I wasn’t able to do that with the Carnage books. My heart wouldn’t let me…that was until I saw that Lesley Jones was writing The Interview. Although I remembered a lot over the four years, I knew I needed a refresh with the smaller details. It didn’t hurt any less on the reread, but it did cement this series as one of my Top 5 Favorites.
The Interview provides readers with parts of the story we are familiar with, but it also brings other things to light. Each new tidbit brought new insight into different characters and their love for their family and friends.
This is the story of Georgia, Sean, Cam, Marley, Ashley, Jimmie, and Len.
This is the story of a girl who fell in love, experienced heartbreak more than anyone should ever face, survived, and grew into a woman who knew that the love she experienced in her life was something special. Something very few ever experience.
I now understand what readers mean when they call a series their Roman Empire.
This is definitely one for me.
As always, I have to say I am utterly and completely Team Tiger. I didn’t know I could love him more than I already did.

Fack..ALL the stars. Every star. I was beyond geeked to return to Carnage. Even though I knew how bad it’d hurt. I’m an emotional cutter and it was going to bleed me awful.
Cameron Blair King-the man you are. Ugh. Ultimate. Marley as well, but I fell for him back when we were in his head in his own book. I also have new love for Lennon. I guess I was indifferent about him? Never felt one way or another in the previous books. Sure he had some good zingers and sometimes I wanted to smack him upside the head but in learning how much he carried…how much he protected…I could kiss him. Always loved Jimmie and Ash also. And the Queen herself-Mrs Georgia McCarthy King is still a powerhouse..a force. The way she and Cam are just connected on a soul level..that kind of love that is so powerful, it has its own palpable energy. If that’s not goals, there is no goal.
To now picture this crew in their 50s/60s and having them relive such an eventful life was so cathartic. Georgia and Sean McCarthy’s story into Georgia and Cameron King’s story is one I’ll never forget. So to go back and almost reread it but with bullet points and new POVs and information was wild.. we know how the story ended and yet it’s only partially ended, still ongoing.
Lesley Jones is magic in that she can take a story and tell it all kinds of ways, to where you feel like you’re hearing it for the first time. I loved getting all of the core players POVs. It helped to keep the story interesting because no 2 people in that group are alike. The last 10% had me a sobbing mess, much like The Story of Us, and there were a few misty eyed moments before then. The Layton crew is so intertwined with one another that when one hurts they all hurt. And they’ve HURT. But they’ve also healed. And helped to heal one another. I just loved this story, it was like meeting up with an old friend for a catch up. Intrigued for the next story as well. Idc how many installments this series gets, I will be reading them. Probably through squiggly tear riddled eyes, but reading them. ❤️❤️

The Interview brings us back to where it all began. You get to relive such great love stories. From Sean and Georgia, Cam and Georgia to Marley & Ash , Jimmy and Len and more. Of course through all of the love, you will learn of heartache in ways you didn’t imagine. I promise it is all worth it.
Lovers of the series will have answers to questions that you may have had throughout the whole story. You will laugh, cry , gasp for air and cry some more. You will relate to characters in a way that you may not have before in ways that hurt and ways that warm your soul. You may need a short break throughout, but will be anxious to keep going.
One big aspect of the book that I really loved is the way that Lesley Jones brought to life not only the love between the beloved couples, but the love of friendship/family between Georgia, Jimmy and Ash. We don’t get to see that often in books and it was written beautifully. Each member of the family had their time to shine and did so in such a real way.
Throughout the series I had a bigger space in my heart for the love story of Georgia and Sean, but I have to say that I fell so much more in love with Cam and Georgia this time. Their love is so raw and beautiful that it just really can’t be compared to any other. Georgia has experienced loving and being loved by two beautiful men and The Interview really goes above and beyond bringing that to surface for us. While Sean was the first boy to have Georgia’s heart, Cam is the man that was truly made for her soul. If you didn’t already feel it, you definitely do with this one.

Though I'm including my too quotes, I won't give any spoilers; you'll just have to trust me when I tell you YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!
If you haven't read the series though, firstly - why the heck not?!! But make sure you read at least books 1&2 (the story of us) before reading The Interview otherwise you will absolutely ruin it for yourself. And this is not a series you want spoilt.
The Carnage series is my absolute all-time favourite series, with The Interview being the icing on the cake. It will bring you right back to the heart ache & deep belly laughs from the series as if you're reading them for the first time again.

If you haven't read the series though, firstly - why the heck not?!! But make sure you read at least books 1&2 (the story of us) before reading The Interview otherwise you will absolutely ruin it for yourself. And this is not a series you want spoilt.
The Carnage series is my absolute all-time favourite series, with The Interview being the icing on the cake. It will bring you right back to the heart ache & deep belly laughs from the series as if you're reading them for the first time again.

The Interview I Didn’t Know I Needed
I finished The Interview.
Yes, I cried.
Sobbed actually.
I didn’t think it was possible to love this series more.
I was wrong.
The original characters and now their kids…d@mn if Lesley Jones didn’t write sheer perfection with this. I knew the story, but the way it was told in this book, with everyone jumping in…how am I going to move on?
I originally read the first 5 books four years ago. The story and the characters stayed with me, as well as the emotional devastation I experienced. When I find a story I love, I reread it. I wasn’t able to do that with the Carnage books. My heart wouldn’t let me…that was until I saw that Lesley Jones was writing The Interview. Although I remembered a lot over the four years, I knew I needed a refresh with the smaller details. It didn’t hurt any less on the reread, but it did cement this series as one of my Top 5 Favorites.
The Interview provides readers with parts of the story we are familiar with, but it also brings other things to light. Each new tidbit brought new insight into different characters and their love for their family and friends.
This is the story of Georgia, Sean, Cam, Marley, Ashley, Jimmie, and Len.
This is the story of a girl who fell in love, experienced heartbreak more than anyone should ever face, survived, and grew into a woman who knew that the love she experienced in her life was something special. Something very few ever experience.
I now understand what readers mean when they call a series their Roman Empire.
This is definitely one for me.
As always, I have to say I am utterly and completely Team Tiger. I didn’t know I could love him more than I already did.

Just when we think we've heard the last from the Carnage series we get another little gem. When I heard about this book and that it was covering the making of a documentary on their lives, I was a bit concerned it would just be a retelling of the previous books and wouldn't really add anything to the series. While, in a sense it was, there was also enough additional content to keep you hooked. New revelations and getting the events from other character's perspectives kept it interesting as well as seeing the dynamic between the character's that we hadn't really seen before, e.g. between Cam and Jimmie. The little glimpses into their relationships now shows how close they've grown through the years while still being the same cheeky, sassy characters we originally fell in love with. It easily showed that these weren't the same people as in the previous books, they had grown and matured over the past 20+ years.......well for the most part!
I also thought that I'd read this series enough times that I could get through it without shedding any tears but I was very wrong. Even knowing what happened and what they were going to discuss next, I still struggled with the emotion of it.
I will say that there was a bit of repetition that got slightly annoying (e.g. the two great loves line) and there was way too much focus on alcohol but overall it was a great addition to the series and had me falling in love with them all over again, especially Cameron - didn't think I could love him more but Lesley somehow manged it!
I also thought that I'd read this series enough times that I could get through it without shedding any tears but I was very wrong. Even knowing what happened and what they were going to discuss next, I still struggled with the emotion of it.

The Interview was everything I didn’t know I needed and more.
Lesley you knew just how to rip my heart out and put it all back together again.
I loved how it recapped over everything in the first few books and that we got everyone’s POV on how they felt and dealt with the same situations that Georgia was in.
You can tell by reading this that Lesley put her heart and soul into this book and it was written beautifully. I dont know how many times I cried even though I know what happened but reading it from someone else’s POV made it even more emotional.
I have a favourite quote from the book and of course it by my man Cam.
“And that, Marls, is how I fucking deal with all this shit,” he says as he slaps me not-so-gently on the back. “That’s how I can stand listening to all this shit because the world doesn’t know what we do. They don’t know our secrets. Because I’m not famous, no one’s ever delved deeper into our story, and that suites me just fine.”
If you know me you would know that The Carnage Series is my most favourite series ive ever read and that it has a special in my heart.
Book 6 The Interview has just become my most favourite read of the year.

AMAZING
Lesley Jones writes so beautifully, and is the only author I know who can shatter your entire heart, and make you not want to read anymore because it’s just too painful and hard, and then put it back together so delicately, while making you laugh until your stomach hurts.
I loved that this book filled in some gaps from the other books in the series, and it made me happy that George and Marley got to hash out some deep rooted issues, and still love each other just the same. Him visiting her in her dreams?! Absolutely wrecked me. You get to see a side of Len you never knew he had, and there’s just something about finally reading the emotional side of a character that you never get to see.
I loved this book, the only reason I gave it 4 stars, is because I want to be able to read more of who Georgia is without Macca, and the band.
Even after finding a great love again, I feel like her current life is always in the shadow of her past, and in a sense you start to feel like she shouldn’t have moved on if every aspect of who she is currently, revolves around who she was before. I would’ve liked to read more about her healing etc before her kids and new marriage, that way you get to read more about the person she grew into while experiencing the heart ache and pain that she has, and being able to find love again, and raise a family.

Gosh I have always been Team Cam, but in this book I'm his No 1 fan and will always be...
He is such a totally Alpha male, does what needs to be done to keep Georgia safe, I was high fiving him when he revealed something about Rocco and Whorely. (oh fist pumps and a 'Yes!' were exuberant... I am definitely with Georgia on her opinion of them)
I felt so sorry for Cam at times, but so happy for Georgia having such a supportive husband.
That's not to say I didn't love Sean, but he was a boy, he didn't get to grow to be a man, who knows where fate would have taken him... And that is the treasure of this series, the believability of the characters and their struggles, hopes and dreams.
I don't want to go into detail too much, as this series should be read without much prior notice, to experience the full 'CARNAGE EFFECT '
One thing that I think Lesley Jones did fantastically were the'dreamscape' scenes, oh boy they were so emotional.
Lesley Jones has hit one into the Park, this book is amazing, I literally stayed up through the night reading.
I was reading the scene of the family discussing the first day of filming and the certain topics discussed were explained more and it felt like I was sat there too, I'd have been drinking the bourbon though , I don't think wine would have been strong enough for the event's revealed. but wow, what an emotionally powerful scene... I went to bed just after that chapter finished, my heart and head full of emotions.
this is what Lesley's writing does to me, it consumes, it's intense...
The ending, well let's say that there's more Layton tea to be spilled with Paige's book.
I've once again been 'carnaged' by this series, and it still is my NO 1 UGLY

I knew I was in trouble reading this book when I was crying at 13% into this superb story. Emotions galore pour from the story, the Interview that Georgia Layton King has decided to air to the world and put the true events of what really happened from when she was a young teenager meeting Sean McCarthy to now as a grown woman. Sick of all the untruths that the papers have printed over the years, this is Georgia's time to put the world to rights and boy do we get some revelations.
What I love about the Carnage family is they are so relatable and feel just like part of my family. Having read these books over the years I have come to love them so much, Lesley really does excel in her writing of these characters, The humour, the tears, the laughs and the healing are just wonderful to experience all over again. Hearing from all the Carnage characters and their own experiences during the years and especially when Carnage was at it's peak as a band and those four missing years was a bit of an eye opener and very emotional for me to read, but also so cathartic.
This is book six in the Carnage series and all the books need to be read in order to fully to understand why this book is so important and to get to know all the characters personalities, and there are some cracking ones to love.
Anticipation is high for the next book but in the meantime, bravo Lesley you did it again!
Team Sean forever with a little love for TDH and big big love for Marley. Until next time.

Reading The Interview brought everything back - the emotions, the shock... everything. It’s been some time since I first read Carnage, and I have to say, Lesley Jones couldn’t have chosen a better way to reignite all those original feelings than through this powerful and poignant narrative.
This isn’t just Georgia recounting the most traumatic times in her life - it’s a chance to see those events through multiple perspectives. And it’s incredible. The raw emotion, the honesty, the heartbreak... it’s all written so beautifully.
One of the standout elements of this story, aside from the heartache and grief, is the strength of Georgia’s inner circle. The love, the support, the fierce loyalty - it’s genuinely heartwarming. No one should have to go through what they did, and yet the way they carried each other through is inspiring. Their closeness shines in every scene, every word, and it brought both tears to my eyes and a smile to my face.
