Sang and the boys share in a delightful winter morning in this slice of life story from the popular Academy Ghost Bird series. This short story is an inside look at Sang as she enjoys a day off with Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke and North. The Academy, Playful
*Note: This identical scene is also found in book 10, First Kiss.
Sounds of Snowfall opened badly, with a glaring error on the very first page, and didn't redeem itself.
"The day promised to be cold, and sections of my body was chill, even with the blanket around me."
It continues with the MC listing various teenage boys several times - by smell, by looks, by what they wear to bed... and snuggling with one of them, before they all get rather over excited by some snow, risk frostbite and have a snowball fight. The end.
There is far too much focus on the MC's entirely uninteresting/mawkish internal dialogue and far too little focus on, well, anything that might entertain or spark a desire to read the other books in the series. All twenty of them, to which I want to say just one thing: quality not quantity.*
Ok, this is really the last one. Not even the drugging properties can motivate me to go on. The story keeps having little sense, the character interactions are gettjng more and more stupid, I think to find an excuse to slow down and force us to buy more books?
Title: Sound of Snowfall Series: The Ghost Bird, #9.1 Author: C. L. Stone Rating: 5 Stars
“I don’t know how I knew it in just that moment, but I did. Snowfalls were better with the boys.”
Quick, fun and heartwarming, definitely a must-read read for the Academy fans.
Loved Sang's easiness around the guys and it was well-needed. She simply enjoyed herself, as did the guys. No over-thinking, no doubting, merely having fun together. Hopefully there'll be more moments like this in First Kiss.
I have gotten very into reading Reverse Harem novels lately becasue of this series. It's super hard to find decent ones that don't just read like fan fiction and this series is quite good actually. This series is really good though, it is slow to develop but that allows for more books in the series which is a good thing. Both the characters and the story are fully fleshed out and well written. I'm enjoying becoming invested in this world and pleased that I discovered this author.
Snow in SC is quite beautiful in its rarity and she captured that. My first snowfall in SC was when my son was born and it was amazing.. This small moment of innocent fun was just that, amazing. The slushy snowballs, the muddy falls, the thin layer of white on everything. Even the knowledge that the moment the sun touched the snow it would melt. She got it all and It was perfect.
Winter break and everyone is at Kotas' house for a sleepover except Doc and Mr Blackbourne. It snows and the beauty of sharing and friendship is so precious and indescribable.
This was a cute story about first snow falls and snowball fights, Sang and the guys have a blast in this this book with no school or other worries, they finally just get to be kids.
