Pacific Cliffs: A Photographic Journey by Arcadia Publishing

Rate this book
Pacific Palisades' name is derived from its geographical features, with cliffs reminiscent of the Hudson River Palisades in New York. Initially used in 1906 for a Santa Monica area, the name stuck for this affluent Los Angeles coastal community. Today, Pacific Palisades is known for its beautiful homes, notable residents, and rocky cliffs. Many unpublished photographs in this book illustrate the transformation of the land from open mesas to the thriving community it is now, completing the story of the Rancho San Vicente y Santa Monica and its neighboring rancho, the Boca de Santa Monica, as well as the Santa Monica Land and Water Company.
