Jaxon Jennings is the second of the Jennings Mafia Family. He’s levelheaded and mild-mannered by nature. Unlike his oldest and youngest brothers, he thinks before he reacts. That’s why he’s the family’s negotiator. But when the Elites call him to the table, the deal on the floor isn’t business. It’s personal. He has been given an order he cannot refuse. Either give up the love of his life, or she dies.
Now Jax is stuck between a war he can’t win and a woman he can’t lose. And for the first time, words might not be enough to save him.
Jax and Kennedy were locked in from the moment they met, but life kept getting in the way. Being great as a negotiator was a blessing and a curse for Jax, as the elites saw his skill as a money maker. Although he appreciated that he was rising in the ranks, the time that it was taking away from Kennedy was wearing him down and putting strain on their relationship. When a deal is proposed to Jax out of the blue, he was stunned at first then furious. There was no right decision to make here that wouldn’t break his heart, or harm Kennedy. For the first time he doesn’t know if his master negotiator skills can save him. 🥹
Kennedy loves Jax with her whole heart, but she has had enough of his constant absence. She is trying to be understanding, but when is enough, enough. She has to make a decision for herself, although she will break her own heart doing so.
We see Jax drop his cool demeanor when he is on the verge of losing KD. He can wild out just like his brothers. He is a Jennings after all! It took him a minute to get out of his head to come up with a plan, and I was beginning to think it was over for he and KD. 💔
Although I love the Jennings men, I would love to have gotten more of Jax and KD’s love story. We jump right into them three years in but didn’t have the opportunity to know how they got there. Remy was a real one, for the way she helped Jax. Now why is Judah just a damn fool all the time. 😂 I got a feeling that he is going to put his family right in some ish, bout that woman he is forbidden to have. Going to get right into it right now!
Don’t try to find the writing where I said I’d never love a man more than Jrue- I scrubbed it from the internet🕵🏽♀️🔍
—————
Plot/Storyline: Jaxon and Kennedy’s story. They’ve been together but some mafia shyt pops off that threatens their whole relationship 😳😩😢 Chemistry: hinted at in Trouble Forever but explicitly clear from the beginning of this book. 🔥🔥🔥 Banter: Jaxon’s personality is kind of a mystery in the previous book but we definitely get his whole personality here.. The way he interacts with Kennedy and others 🥵😏😉- Every form of BDE you can think of: Big Dawg🐶, Big 🍆, Big Dough💵. Spice: spicy scenes were indeed 🥵. *exhibit A: the first quote above…keep in mind this was Kennedy’s first reaction to him so we already know her mind was “in the gutter”. I don’t blame you girl- We ALL understand! Pacing: amazing Drama: a lot of moving parts but done well and woven into the story perfectly. — Remember, this is not an arranged marriage but there is: romance, spice, and mafia!
Jaxon and Kennedy.
Kennedy and Jaxon.
I loved their story! —
Now, let’s code switch the review tone: Putting on my glasses for a more professional approach 🤓🤓🤓 ⬇️ ——
“pen game 🔏✅” moment:
The author does an amazing job getting the readers to fall in love with a couple whose relationship started “off the pages” in Trouble Forever.
That’s not an easy task!
As readers, we want all the feels and emotions that come with “new love”.
We want to experience those sparks and butterflies WITH our couple- not just told about it.
This author gives us those emotions VERY WELL in this book.
This book is not their “backstory” but does include everything needed from their backstory to fall “in love” with their love.

“pen game 🔏✅” moment:
The attention to the details…
This is fictional writing but it does make a story more enjoyable when details match real life.
We love to feel like our delusions can become reality 🙃🤣
— I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend catching up with “Trouble Forever” so you can be ready for this release!
Also, that WILD and reckless one Judah is up next. If you’ve been keeping up- his book will really put us through it. Hint. Hint we get a little 🫣at the end of this book.
Will be available on 8/20/25 on kindle unlimited.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I would like to make note that I am officially rescinding my SistaWife badge for Jrue. We’ve had an amazing run but I feel Jaxon just understands me best.
Good series. These brother have N interesting way of eliminating the competition. The story I was entertaining. They bet real nasty with the ones they love. The banter always b get my neck warm. Jaxon and Kennedy both sacrificed and it paid off.
I was looking forward to this follow-up and finally getting more shine on Jaxon and Kennedy’s story. But to be honest, something about it just didn’t hit for me. As a Book Two, it wasn’t what I was expecting.
Now, I am a mood reader so I can admit that might be part of the issue—but for me, this one was just okay.
Now listen, after getting to know Trouble” in Book 1, I was already in deep. But getting more of Jaxon and seeing how he really moves? Whew. My man usually stays cool, level-headed, always ten steps ahead. He’s the one who’s gonna find a solution that works for everybody...family, business, and love.
But now, three years into his relationship with Kennedy, and appointed as underboss, the pressure is getting real. Kennedy misses what they used to have. The intimacy, the quality time, the feeling of being first. Meanwhile, Jax is running the streets, making power plays, and lowkey drowning under the weight of trying to hold everything together.
Things hit a boiling point fast, and just when you think it can’t get any worse… boom, the Elites drop the wildest direct order on Jax’s head. Like.... WHAT?! Sir, how is this even supposed to work? And when Kennedy finds out what's really going down? Baybeeee… buckle up.
This is the kind of story that really puts love, loyalty, and legacy on the line. How do you do what’s right for your family AND stay true to your woman? How do you align your heart and your head when they’re pulling in different directions?
Okay now. I gotta say it...Kennedy got on my nerves a teenyyyyy bit. Like girl... you knew what this man did for a living when you signed up! Don’t be acting brand new now that it’s inconvenient. Yes, it’s hard. Yes, you’re lonely. But Jax is clearly fighting to keep y’all whole. Give my man some grace!
Jaxon stood ten toes down behind Kennedy, and I respected it. The growth, the heartbreak, the loyalty. it was all there. D. Scott really did her thing again and I’m ready for whatever this mafia world brings next.
(3.5⭐️) Mafia and arranged marriage storylines aren’t new to me, I particularly enjoy them. BUT I feel like this storyline had a twist I haven’t encountered before. What do you do when you’re already in a committed years long relationship and the mafia tells you to end it now to marry someone else, or she dies. Well Jaxon showed us the lengths he would go to for his Kennedy. Sir said he’d die behind her. And when she called herself trying to “move on”, let’s just say that things got explosive😱I do wish we saw more behind the scenes of how he was actually able to get out of the arrangement though. This book was a long third act breakup, but I was glad things worked out for them.
Can’t wait for book 3. Judah’s book. The crazy baby brother/comedic relief books are always my favorite because a woman comes in that makes the MMC grow tf up. And with the way this book ended I know Judah is about to cut up!
The Jennings men literally have me in a chokehold!!! I’ve laughed so much throughout this series & my cheeks are hurting from smiling ear to ear!
Jax loved him some Ken!! That man wasn’t playing about his woman!!! He was ready to risk it all his life included to make sure he she was his forever!! He was quiet but would crash out every time when it came to her!!! I love the Jennings men real bad!! I can’t wait to get into the next book in the series! 🥰
Jax is that guy! Stood on BIG BUSINESS and didn’t let up off of Kennedy!!!! Even when the odds were against him he found way to still always come back for her! And that clown Judah, I’ve been laughing a him since he was introduced in book 1 and I can’t wait until we get to see his pov!
So I have fallen in love with the Jennings Family. I loved relationship between Storm and Kennedy. That’s how best friends hold you down. Jax didn’t play about Kennedy. Thank God she loved him because he could have lost her. I really liked Remy. My fav part is Jax being in Kennedy’s home when she came from her date. Read the book to find out.
I really enjoyed reading Jaxson and Kennedy story. I love how Kennedy stood for what she needed from Jax. I also loved how Jax crashed out about Kennedy. I cant wait to see what is next fir the author. I am definitely a fan
I’ll be honest—two things really worked for me in this book. One: I loved how Jaxon went to war for his woman. That’s sexy AF. Two: I enjoyed the twist of the arranged marriage. Imagine being told you have to marry someone other than the person you’ve been dating for the past three years. I loved how Jaxon stood firm and never wavered, because a weaker man would’ve. With that being said, this book would’ve benefited from being longer. We knew Jaxon and Kennedy had been spending time together since the first book, but we never really got to see them fall for each other. A few flashbacks of their first meeting just weren’t enough. The story moved at the speed of light with little development, which left it feeling surface-level. As for the mafia elements—I honestly don’t know what to say, because they didn’t stick for me. Overall, there were aspects I enjoyed, but the story just didn’t fully work for me. I can see where the author is going in terms of fleshing out scenes and development—it’s just not the direction I expected, so I’ll have to adjust my expectations moving forward.
That said, I will stick around for the brother’s story, because he’s my favorite.
When a man mind and heart is made up, there’s no way to stop him from getting what & who he wants. One monkey don’t stop no show. Your title has no weight when it comes to a man heart. Never touch what doesn’t belong to you. Let’s chat.
I thought Trouble was a force but honestly he had NOTHING on Jaxon🤭. The way this man is coming behind Kennedy left me teary eyed. This man did care who you were nor the title you carried when it came to her🥹. Now don’t get me wrong ya boy had me stressed with how he was moving but I felt him on everything. Like I’ve stated before - where this men at🤣! Can’t do this with mentioning Remy. She was top tier to me. The way she played her part and helped ya boy🥹. Plus she had eyes for someone else🤭. I see now why he had the position he had in the family. Kennedy was his person and no could tell him otherwise. She was his comfort and peace.
Kennedy was that girl who just wanted time and section. What woman doesn’t🤔! She slight got on my nerves but I understood her. However, in my opinion she knew what it was when she started the relationship with Jax🫣. I respected her though for speaking her mind and expressing her feelings about what she wanted & needed. Sometime when we need someone the most, they not there and that to me was her biggest issue😔. Her mother on the other hand had me mad cause are you serious. Honestly who does that? And when she had to tuck that tail🤭. Oh but her daddy, I loved that man down. Can’t forget Taj, like how many time you have to be rejected to catch on. Like my girl only spoke one language and can only tell you so many time that you at it got her 🤭. One thing for sure, he learned his lesson. When I say Jax wasn’t coming off her, I mean just that.
One thing I loved about them Jennings men, is they are not to be played with. If you seen one, I promise the other 2 are not far🤭. Though they didn’t always see eye to eye nor agree, they never turn their back on each other. The way Jax stood toe to toe with Trouble. Babe, I was nervous🫣. Just stop playing with these men.
This read right here has topped book 1🫣. The way Jax loved him some Kennedy. Then let not even mention the Cartel🤭. The way it all played was amazing and D.Scott did her big one with this here. Now on to Judah book and I know he about to act a fool, but I’m nerves cause if he going for the goddaughter🫣. It’s about to get real. Book 3 here I come.
After devouring the first book, I slid straight into this one and tore through it just the same. I love the way the Jennings brothers move, the shared qualities, the individual distinctions, the unity. Their bond is the kind of closeness I wish more melanated families had; they stayed solid, never once turning on each other or letting chaos break their circle.
Now Mr. Jaxon? He was not about to play with KD! The way he stood on business for him, even with his life possibly on the line, had me locked in. And I have to give an honorable mention to Remy — the way she stood by Jaxon, supported him, and stayed honest and intentional. Top tier.
It’s been a long time since I’ve given two back-to-back 5-star ratings in a series. Honestly, it’s only happened one other time. But this series? Yeah… It’s a solid 5 stars straight through. And now I’m running right into Judah’s story with no breaks.
Still Forever was so good! It had the perfect mix of drama, romance, tragedy, and all the emotions that come with fighting for your true love. Jax and Kennedy had me on edge the whole time, wondering if they were really going to make it—especially with Jax being forced into an impossible situation: marry someone else or Kennedy dies. That was absolutely heartbreaking, but it made the story so intense and addictive.
Watching Jax use his skills as a master negotiator to find a way out of that mess and fight for Kennedy was everything. His brothers standing behind him, even when it meant risking their lives, added so much heart and loyalty to the story. They went through the fire, but that ending? Perfect. Jax came out on top, didn’t lose his woman, and still remained the big man in charge.
Me & D Scott have a steady beef bc WHAAAA???!!! 😳🤯
This book did NOT disappoint!!!
The Jennings brothers have ALL OF ME! I swear! Trouble was a mess all by himself, but my goodness did Jaxon light up these pages. He was not playing about Kennedy AT ALL!!!
I do love how she made him FEEL her pain and he was so weak behind her. I respect a man unafraid to show his woman the extent of his love when it runs deep. That is a MAN!
This book has it all! The entire series does… Romance, drama, action and of course the comedic relief - 😏
I will say…Judah is my favorite and I am on pins and needles waiting on his release. Whew!!!
This book did not play around! Jaxon and Kennedy had been solid for three years, but the second Jax was ready to step up—an ultimatum came crashing down. And let me tell you, the stakes were high.
Them Elites thought they had the upper hand, but Jaxon wasn't folding. Caught between starting a war he couldn't win or choosing the love of his life, the tension had me flipping pages like crazy. This story was drama, loyalty, and love all rolled into one wild ride.
But my real MVP? Kennedy. My girl stood on business! She knew her worth, and when Jax had her messed up, she packed up and left.
For a long time, I stopped reading UFR because they all read the same! This series had made be believe in UFR again!
Jaxon found everything he could ever ask for in a woman in Kennedy but his mafia affiliation led him to an arranged marriage to Remy. From the beginning, you know for a fact that Jaxon would move the moon if it separated him from the woman he loved and he stopped at nothing to get back to her!
I loved that Kennedy made Jaxon stand on business when it came to her, I also love that Jaxon listened and communicated with her. Remy was a true girls girl and was willing to play her part and do whatever she could to help them. I can’t wait for Judah book. 10/10
I really enjoyed this read!! Seeing Jaxon on go mode was such a treat. Bc he did not play the radio about Kennedy!!! Loved the storyline. Love this family! D. Scott DOES NOT miss! Another banger for sure!!! Patiently waiting for our baby Judah’s turn. (Need that!!!!!)
I’m throughly enjoying this series! There are minor errors in the book which I noticed but overall the storyline and the relationships between the brothers and their significant others are solid. So far I’ve enjoyed the Jrue and Jaxon’s book! Can’t wait for the next installment!
I love this book. The adventure was amazing. I love how they had to go through so many ups and downs to get life. A man will do whatever they need to do to get the love of his life. Jax was going to make it happen. I am glad he went and got his KD!! Their relationship was beautiful. I can't wait to read Judah book
Jaxon had to learn that work life balance. It cost him the love of his life until he fought hard and moved with purpose. Kennedy stood on business even when it was breaking her heart. You do not understand how I wanted to pop her mother upside her head. She got on my very last never.
This book had a lot of moving parts but in the end, love won.
Their love story was so sweet! If I’ll die about it was a person it would be Jaxson. He knew that she was his forever and he would do anything to protect her. I love their love story. Definitely read this book!
I didn’t think I could love this family more than I do!! Jax was EVERYTHING!! So many heart wrenching moments that I could just feel based on how well written the scenes were. I wanna say sweet Remy was the GOAT and she must not be forgotten!! I am so ready for Judah
This book had my heart and blood pressure in a chokehold for most of the story. I loved everything about the way Kennedy moved and stood on what she knew she wanted and deserved. Then my poor baby Jax who was literally trying to do right by his family and moving miserable for the Elites. Jax was a crash out bout his women and didn’t care who or what. Nothing was stopping him from getting his girl and he kept his promise the whole way through. I was biting my nails right along with Kennedy up until the last minute.
I thought this was the author of a previous book I had read with the same name but, I'm starting to think maybe not her style and genre are lovable the last three books are excellent...I would definitely recommend her to others
When you love who you love! Baby, Jax wasn't letting up off KD and didn't care about a mafia or any person who tried to come between it. I loved this book and can't wait for Judah.
