I really enjoyed the focus on Hibari and seeing her work towards her dreams too, which I guess we HAVE been seeing that up to this point. However, it felt different this volume with her new part-time job and how excited she was for it! Really feels like something she can do one day too, and hope it all works out! Plus, there was a fun cameo that I didn't expect!
The concert with Gaku and the guys was INTENSE! I LOVE when you're reading a music scene, and it just comes to life in a way that gives you goosebumps, where even if you can't hear anything literally, you can feel and hear it inside. Not sure if that makes sense, but I felt I was on the edge of my seat when they were playing!
Though I guess there IS something with that that had me on the edge of my seat literally too! LOL! What a plot twist I didn't see coming, and I'm wondering what exactly will come from this, or if anything will? I guess to be determined! I will also add that, as much as I don't like love triangles, I'm still not minding anything with this one! Probably because realistically, there isn't one since Hibari only has eyes for Gaku, but…
That leads me to say, too, that I was impressed that we saw a different side of Gaku! I'm not sure how much to say due to spoilers, but I appreciated him saying sorry when he was rude to Hibari due to being in his feelings. I was also surprised to see how much he really cares for the band, but also for Hibari. Sometimes I think he's just dating her because it's fun, and while I don't think that's untrue, I now see that he really does care for her and wants to be with her. 🥹
The ending was such a cliffhanger, and wondering what's in store for these two with their dreams, but also their relationship! Hopefully, the next volume doesn't take too long to release!
Keiko Iwashita earned an automatic extra star from me just for bringing Matsunaga-san back! While I wish the timeline of his appearance was a bit clearer (and that Meeko had joined him), it was so nostalgic to see him. I'd love to see older characters like them stick around as mentors for the younger cast.
Vol. 5 shifts its focus heavily toward career developments. Gaku’s band is getting scouted, and the artwork during the music scenes is absolutely gorgeous. Rihito also makes a memorable, disguised appearance to save the day, setting up an intriguing dynamic for the band's future. Meanwhile, Jou’s rejection of Hibari’s best friend adds a compelling layer of mystery to his backstory—I smell a slow-burn romance!
While the main romance takes a backseat to career and plot progression in this volume, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I love how this mangaka builds her romances on a solid foundation of friendship. Can't wait for Volume 6!
Overall: still loving the story, buuuuut this volume felt rushed, even the art seemed rushed. I hope the next volume feels more organic or this story might lose me.
Love Gaku but he is irritating me a bit, I loved the rawness and conflict this volume, but he was a tad bit toxic there during the band scene. Hibari is amazing though, her character feels more relatable and real.
And now I have to wait until November for the next volume … which I am happy to do and hopefully it will get better. ❤️
Non so perché me lo aspettavo...

I can finally see some conflict, and that's a delight! I don't like Gaku, though. Hibari and her jealousy towards Gaku's skills and abilities and her character development are so fun!
I like that Hibari can continue to be honest with Gaku, telling him that she felt like he didn't need her anymore and then him reassuring her in response. It's so refreshing to have characters in a romance, especially a manga (or comic in general, manga, manhwa, manhua whatever) actually express what they are feeling to the other person directly. This is the kind of open, honest relationship we all should strive for. They're sickeningly sweet btw😒
I truly didn't expect what happened between Airi and Jou... but ykw, Airi was also extremely direct to him. AND WE LOVE THAT! Thank u author for making your women straightforward and take initiative🙏 I liked their interactions nonetheless! Also, why's Jou-san so attractive, though?
I am HERE for Rihito joining in on performing with their band because Kyo wasn't there. I know I shat on him earlier in the series, but he's not a bad character by any means, I definitely feel for him, because unrequited love is not easy to experience. He's also a solitary character, so it was great that he joined the other musicians onstage. It was also kind of him to step up like that, since he didn't have to do so. I thought that was a good choice made by the author.
