A few months after his surgery, June 'Chevy' Calloway is discovering what life is like on the other side. Newly married with a baby on the way, Chevy has found himself caught in a war with the Prince of the Cove. While trying to manage the crew and take care of his own family, he's entangled in the midst of the Merciers. Although he has declared that he won't give his grandparents a second chance, he can't escape them. As Chevy navigates through the Cove, things begin to unravel not just in truth and secrets but also in his own identity. When his world gets flipped upside down, Chevy's crash becomes bigger than him as it starts to affect his relationship. Bishop, known as the Prince of the Cove, thought the smoke had cleared after Khas's death; however, after discovering that his mother was murdered, he's now on a revenge mission. With a sense of closure within reach, his conflict with Chevy has intensified. Bishop attempts to regain control after losing the woman he believed was the love of his life, Indigo. Now, with a war raging, the death of his mother, and his ex-girlfriend gone, Bishop struggles to regain control. When two worlds collide, which alpha male will emerge victorious? Or will they call a truce for the sake of their sanity?
I absolutely loved this book. The way Chevy went through the motions and came out on top like a true king should. Also I already loved Dio but the growth is incredible. Anything she writes I’m most definitely reading.
This book brought laughs, tears, and drama. The drama that unpacked was WILD. I'm so happy with how June handled everything that came his way. I tip my hate to him and Bishop. Them Avery's & Mercier's are something else. I LOVE Preach his character and just him as a person. Tatiana you did your thing with this whole Zoo Boys series. Now man that Lil cliffhanger I ain't even gone hold you on that sis. Because I know a book is coming.

I love how she allowed CHEVY JUNE to go through everything to come back as a complete man. I love how love, peace, forgiveness, truth, openness, and God pull June and Zaira together. I showed so many emotions. I cried, laughed, got mad, was sad, loved, and rejoiced throughout the book. I can't wait for the soap opera to continue. Tatiana is an amazing writer. Her pen game has gained her the ZOO CREW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mehn, talk about a girl being emotional! This was more of a battle of the Alphas and the toll thier battles was taking on their families. Than a battle between the Orange and Blue.
I did not cry as much as I did with Chevy's Promise or was it Zu-Topia that had me 😭😭 but this book had me soo emotional!
🤯 Navanna & Bishop? How would that work? Somebody's bound to lose. 🤯 Lakia and Monfua got married? FOE can't be mad. At least he made an honest woman out of her. That's more than he did for Harvey 🤯They made Zu cry!!
🙏🏾Indigo and June ending up at Church?!? I was having a mini revival at my desk chair! Goddess, that was satisfying for me and Preach! They had my boy's stress!
Chevy giving it to god and Zaria being patient with her love.
Preach really does have a calling and I’m so happy he takes his role serious.
I love me some Bishop! Him & Indigo need to find their own happiness. So happy him, Bleek, & Chevy will change things soon.
Keith brother don’t want that smoke with Dio!
Lakia honestly needs to go home if Foe doesn’t want her there. This is a change for him & here she comes making it a problem for him. Yes she’s grown but why follow him where he is trying to find peace? I hope Monfua pray bc Foe is really like that.
Chevy story was always captivating, but man he went through every single emotion in this book. Sometimes the grass ain’t greener on the other side. All he wanted was to know where he came from and baby that roller coaster was coasting. I absolutely loved Dio growth and even Preach growth. How he loved on Samara, a stand up guy indeed. 10/10
Chevy, Bop, Tavaris, Indigo, Zaria, Preach, Diamond, & Samara all hold special places in my heart fr. Diamond because he truly is the comedic relief I be needing in this series.
Lmaoooo omg that ending!!! LOVE that for my girl Lakia 🤭 REAL BAD, I wish it were me 🤧
What a roller coaster ride. I love me some June aka Chevy. I’m happy for his growth and was super happy to read the comments evolution of Dio. Tati has done it again!
Life will bring trials and tribulations. It how you handle it is learning experience. No one crown always stay straight but how it’s how you go about straighten it is the question. When married it becomes a party of two. Communication is the #1 in any relationship especially marriage. Generational curses are real and it’s how you handle them that matters. All a person has is their name but when you don’t have that what do you have? Let’s chat 🤔!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Chevy aka June is just that 🥷🏽 who has life battles like everyone else. Difference is he tries to handle everything thing on his own and not communicate with his Queen Zaria🥰. He had me disappointed for his actions. Now I get Zaria was pregnant and he didn’t want to stress her, but when the outside starts to affective the inside adjustments and conversations need to be had! When things start to effecting the platform there will never be a steady foundation. If that makes sense 🫣. Fighting a personal battle is not an easy task and that is exactly what June was battling along with trying to be the a husband and soon a father. Along side of that he was dealing with pride. Pride can be a dangerous thing😔. Oh but when that truth hit about his grandparents mainly the grandfather all he seen was orange and him trying to still protect that lost little boy. Lack of communication will cause you to lose all that close to you. Losing Zaria was the one thing he knew would crumble him if it happens and babe when reality hit, my guy didn’t know how to handle it and crashed🫣. Can I say that one of my favorite parts of this read was the delivery. When I say I was teary eyed I was just that🥹! Monstera being a plant that represents growth, abundance, and resilience shows exactly the type of man that June is and needed to return to without all the baggage in order to sprout new leaves and new beginnings. There is so much to unravel about June and if I keep going it would never end🤣🥹🥰! Oh I can’t forget that he was and has been doing better with and around the family he created - The Zoo!
Zaria energy and vibe has been everything to me through these reads. Love her down. Regardless of how much she loves June, she loved herself more🥹. Knowing he was battling with finding out who he is and being the king he is, it was him bring it in there home and not leaving it outside where she had the issue. When the shift started happening at the foundation, my girl was over it🫣. Don’t get me wrong, I understood and felt where she was coming from. He started changing and it was effecting their dynamic and energy. That was a big no no for her. Hers, his or their energy was to never connect with the energy of the outside world once they were behind their threshold. When that happened, ya girl chose self and babies and bounce. She was not playing about her and the babies peace. Despite What may have been going on, I knew along with everyone else, she wasn’t coming off June🥰 and she played no game about him and had not nan issue to check you about him. Ole girl Nyomi learned that and almost got dealt with. Being pregnant didn’t stop one thing when it can to her man - PERIODT 🥰🤏🏾🥰! Learning what he’s been dealing with cause a shift especially when she found out his grandfather was the cause of it all. My girl straightened her crown that slightly tilted and stood tall so she can help place his crown back on his head but not until she proved them affirmations he needed. Listen the love these two share is beautiful and in team June & Zaria. Oh and as always that silent conversation and their personal Calloverse is top tier🤏🏾🤏🏾!
Can’t forget about my baby boy Dio. Please stop playing with this man🫣! Why ole boy Keith keeps playing with him and not learning is diabolical🤣. Like this man keeps telling you he’s NOT all there but he (Keith) don’t think fat mean greasy 🤣! One thing for sure I hope he has learned his lesson 🫣! Anyway enough of that. Can we talk about the life he spoke into June 🤏🏾 - “God speaking life into a king” and his growth! My guy doing big thangs and I’m here for it. When I say I shedded a few, I did just that 🥰! I love Dio down and Chevy knew then that he was ready to take his place with the Zoo and acted on it🥰! Can’t wait to see what’s in store next!
Bishop, is that guy as well. I have a different outlook with him. At first I didn’t care too much for him. He too is a victim of family trauma and affected by generational curse. Learning the truth about Naheem gave him a different outlook of things on top of losing his love - Indigo. Let me correct that, at this moment he’s not losing her like that but she’s off bettering herself for her and he respected it. After trying to get his get back on June, which honestly he did, after some time he realized he didn’t just hurt him but Zaria as well. The fact that he realized what he went through when it came to Indigo, he was part of the reason Zaria hurting. I honestly have to say that after learning all he learned about Angela, Naheem and then let go of Indigo he realized that everything that he’s going through was past down from generations to generations and he wanted to ended it. Especially after the issue with Keith and Dio. That meeting with the Elite was it for me and I love it🤏🏾🤏🏾! Oh but Navanna 😡!
Cynthia, I still don’t trust her but maybe I’m wrong but what she did for June was honestly the least she can do🥰. There’s nothing she or anyone can do to make up for the time he lost and where he came from. Now do I feel that she feels someway about what she learned - definitely🫣. To learn that your husband who you been rocking solid with was the cause of your family issue, that alone would have me packing all my things cause at no way. Especially learning about my only child.
As mentioned earlier there’s so much to discuss but this review would never end🤣! I already write a novella for my reviews 🤣. However on a serious note, it was a pleasure to read this book. The author allowed us all to read about the fallen and the rise of the King. That there alone was everything to me 🥰! Look forward to what’s next but they better stop playing with Miles aka FOE!!
Tatitana really know how to tug at your heart strings because baby this book was an emotional roller coaster.
I love me some Chevy but that pride and ego was a bitch. God had to bring him to his knees LITERALLY to really humble him and remind him how far he’s come. I still love me some Zaria. Her strength, patience, love, understanding and even tough love towards Chevy in this book is so well portrayed. I’m happy they were able to find their way back to each other and better because they were taking me through it in this book chile.
Bishop. I really do love Bishop as well. I’m sad that him and indigo separated but I’m happy she decided to put herself first and to get the help she need. You cannot pour from an empty cup. I hate that this is the second time Bishop fell in love with a woman who ended up falling victim to a drug addiction (even though it was forced on Indigo😢). I feel he needs some form of therapy as well. Especially with the family issues. And as much as I want them to find their way back to each other even if they don’t I pray they both have HAPPY endings.
I love Preach and I’m happy to see how much he’s grown and accepted his calling to lead a congregation. I’m also enjoying the relationship that is growing between him and Sage. However, I’m sad to see him and Navi break up. They were the first couple in this series and now I feel like I need to go back and read their story because it feels like I missed something with this sudden storyline for Navi. Navi was very selfish in this book but I also want to give her some grace. I don’t know the route Tatianna will take with her storyline but I pray it’s not a villain story. I really do like Navi and hope we get to see her POV in the upcoming books and get more backstory on why she feel the way she feel about religion and her relationship with God or lack therefore. I personally know some people fighting this battle daily so I hope she deep dives a little more.
I do not know how I feel about Bishop and Navi possibly becoming a thing as yet but I’m here to see how Tatianna plays this out. I just hope it doesn’t cause another rift between the girls now.
I don’t understand why Foe Sister followed him😕 but I guess we’ll see how that plays out.
Cannot wait to see the rest of Dio and Samara’s story as they take on college life as well as more updates on the rest of the gang. 🧡

It’s ALWAYS those brothers tripping over the relationship their sisters have!!!…Now who put Lakia and Monfua business out on Orangeland!!!…Foe is about to rip some mess up, and then he will have to put it back together!!!…I hope the crew is able to calm him down!!!… My heart is so full with the story of Chevy/June!!!…To endure the things he endured and come out with your scars healed and your heart full!!!…He showed just how God will humble you and cleanse you so that you can see clearly the things that were not to be!!!… I’m hoping Bishop and Indigo find their way back to each other and that Navana go on about her business!!!…Navana is a lost soul who needs to find herself in Preach’s House of prayer!!!… I love me some Diamond and Yana, they truly grew on me and the mention of them made me smile!!!… Dio’s growth was AMAZING and him and Samara is a beautiful story developing and I can’t wait to see it!!!… I wanted more of Pierre and Tuesday, because they were definitely a developing story!!!… Zeus and Sasha were next to my favorite couple and I love how they stood with each other and made sure they worked on their healing and forgiveness!!!… I loved the way Chevy read Tania for filth baby!!!… She judged him out the gate not knowing his story or the weight he carried on his back!!!…I was so glad he got those things off his chest that night and got some of the answers to questions he didn’t ask!!!… Granddaddy was poison and I hope their is a story of his demise, because for him to do his grandchildren the way he did and to leave Chevy behind, knowing he was his grand child heart my heart!!!…Then had the audacity to judge his daughter, the monster he created!!!…
I’m happy for the ending but to get to it was very very drawn out and drab. It’s like things were happening but how did we get there.
You had Chevy and Z not communicating when that’s what they do best, with each other. You finally threw in what Naveena and Preach went through but it’s like where did that even come from to begin with. Sasha and Zu coming together and getting married was a blessing! Maybe preach and sage will be the real deal. Mars and Dio are too cute, hopefully college allows them to grow with each other BUT don’t think I didn’t catch how Keith is also going to to TSU. This has Angela/Naheem/Grace vibes all over again. Harvey and foe seemed practically non existent similarly so did diamond and Yana. I’m not at all feeling the Bishop and Naveena storyline.. it’s Bishop and Indigo all day. Now we have random Monfua and Lakia.
So we don’t actually get closure we get more books to come. I hope they get better because this has been a downward spiral since the end of Zoo boys (which is the best so far). And lastly while Dio is a smart kid he was literally just making the most dumbest decisions and he going to be the new Chevy over all the others? I feel like it was just thrust in him with no real showing of how he’s this smart new and improved Zoo Prince. All he really did was cut off his dreads, apply to school (his essay was dope) and take Samara out.
This was a whirlwind of a read! I just knew Chevy and Bishop were headed for an epic showdown, and the buildup did not disappoint. The tension was high, but honestly, the relationship drama between the couples stole the spotlight. The “lies of legacy” storyline took the cake, though—the way those elite families schemed, manipulated, and even killed to protect their power and keep their money flowing was on another level. Secrets upon secrets—the skeletons were practically leaping out of the closet!
The love Chevy and Bishop had for their women was swoon-worthy. They were ready to risk it all, but both made the same mistake of assuming their women would always stick around and endure their recklessness and pride. Watching them face life-altering moments of humility was powerful.
The author wrote June’s book brilliantly. Action, suspense, love, loyalty, friendship, and growth were woven into every page. The character development stood out—especially for the MMC’s, even if humility came hard for them. Overall, this was an amazing read, and I’m already looking forward to the next installment!
There was so much evolution and growth in the characters in this book. Man, it really pulled at my heart strings. When Chevy broke down at church, I cried my ass off. Damn man, it just seems like my guy just could catch a break!
What's up with these Naheems? This is the 2nd Naheem in a book that started out as someone I love, and then I hated them by the end of the book. All umma say is "Capone" if you know you know.
All of the guys are turning into family men, and I love that for them. They have been getting it in them streets for so long. I can't wait to see how they mentor these up and coming jits.
****Spoiler: Tatiana, dont start, no sh*t. Having Bishop meet Navi crazy a** at the store!. That ain't it! Lol, just kidding, talk yo sh*t but I need Bishop and Chevy, I mean, June to maintain peace. They are powerful together. Chevy only need to come out in them sex scenes 😉 😜.
Oh and I can't wait for Beans' story!
I can't wait for the next book. I hope Harvey is ready for the hell Foe bought to bring cause he pissed!
Mrs Tati never disappoints. I'm sad for Bishop & Indi I hope they spin the block. Don't know what Navi & Bop relationship look like but idk if I want to. The growth in Dio is so beautiful to see. Naheem & Mercier's no wonder the evil lasted so long they were stirring the pot. Looking forward to learning about Beans and his family. Harvey is apart of the crew now. And the emotional wreckage the these characters went through ! ESPECIALLY June and Z I wouldn't have been ok if the king and queen didn't make it but I'm glad they did. Preach and Navi omg thank you for giving us the whole story. I hope Sage can love Preach in ways Navi couldn't. We can always count on the zoo for punch lines and banter Foe I love you and your are my man but chill out lakia is grown and apparently Married now.
Until the next book as always it's Zoo over everything
We are back in The Cove with none other than June “Chevy” Calloway and baby if you know me, you already know:
💥 I am a Chevy STAN. All day. Every day....But June, oh that love hits different....PERIODT!!!
But this time? We get a different side of him. Not the boss. Not the brawler. Not the protector. But the man who’s unraveling because sometimes, your biggest enemy isn’t the streets… it’s you.
Chevy is trying to build a life in The Cove, but the biggest barrier isn’t outside forces, it’s himself. This man hit every wall imaginable. He built a life, a family, a future based on what he thought life would look like. But when things didn’t go according to plan, he couldn’t pivot. Couldn’t ask for help. Couldn’t be vulnerable. Even with his wife. 💔
This read felt like watching someone try to heal from trauma without the tools. Just winging it. Falling apart silently. Breaking in front of people who love them but still saying “I’m fine.”
And it was painful. His ego. His pride. His refusal to see that asking for help is strength too. His marriage was slipping through his fingers, and he couldn’t stop it because he still had that little boy inside him trying to prove he was “strong enough,” “worthy enough,” “man enough.”
But when he finally got tired...spirit-tired...he broke open. And in that breaking, he found the people who would pour into him until he remembered who he was. His wife. His friends. His chosen family. They reminded him of his worth, his softness, and his strength.
The growth? Beautiful. The reflection it caused in me? Deep.
This wasn’t just a gangsta book. It was a healing journey. A man learning how to be whole. A story about how love, real love, will call you to rise up and be better even when you don’t think you can.
I loved it. But I might be a little biased... Still, if you read it, I don’t think you’ll disagree. 🖤
While recuperating from a serious illness, June Calloway is trying to find balance between his home life and the Zoo Crew. In an attempt to solve everyone else’s problems, he is slowly losing the love of his life and his family. But, how does a man explain something that he doesn’t even understand. This one is complicated y’all, and at times I felt like there there was too much going on.
But, in true June fashion, he figures it out as only he can. Responsibilities are redistributed and the King appoints a new Prince of the Cove.
Can we talk about my boy Duo for a minute? His brief stint in New York, along with the love of a good woman, made my guy transform into a new man, and I loved that for him. He was definitely my favorite character in this book, whereas that Clark earned the award for my least favorite character. How one person could be so conniving is beyond me.
Wow it just keeps going on and on with the secrets, lies, rebuilding and restoration. June had to be broken down to be built back up. Zaria wasn't playing with him and his destructive behavior. Keith and Dio really can't seem to co-exist. Bishop and June made amends somewhat. Preach has grown so much in his walk with Christ. The rest of the Zoo has matured as well. Hooefully June, Tania, Indigo and even Travaris will develop a relationship. The ending was everything. I'm loving this and the collaborative of The Cove & The Zoo. Clark Mercier is a trip as was Naheem. So much happened in this one and I was here for it all. Keep doing your thing Tatiana. Great read!!!
CHEEEVVVVYYYY 😩😩😩😩. Man he took me through the motions of everything. Him finding out his real family wasn’t the family what they pretended to be. The redemption of his and Zaria’s relationship through the chaos of the war between Chevy and Bishop and Preach and Navanna breaking up and Preach finding his home church in Toussaint. Dio and Samara becoming one Harvey joining the Zoo 🧡. This was everything 🧡💙 especially Chevy and Bishop putting their issues to the side for the sake of the families their kids and relationships, Indigo going to rehab to get clean officially and Chevy and Zaria’s Wedding 🥹🥹🥹🥹 just beautiful literally rooting for everyone that’s black 🥹.

As always, I loved everything about this book. June a.k.a. Chevy was struggling with a lot throughout this book and I felt his pain and slight disconnection from his wife Zaria. I understood Zaria, but I also thought that she could have been a little more sympathetic and a lot more patient with June. Instead of her giving ultimatums and talking at June, she could have talked to him because she would have know that he was going through a lot. June could have communicated such issues had he not let pride get in the way. In the end, they got it together.
You will go through all of the emotions reading this book. It starts off kind of slow, but baby, when it gets good, it gets good. Clark needs to go, and so does Narvanna. Smh, they are both some selfish ppl. I hope Bishop and Indigo get back together. They both deserve happiness, and I think it's with each other. Tania is a whole different type of breed.
As always this universe created by this Tatiana is always a ride. I love how we seen the rise and fall of a king to possibly be reborn. June journey was definitely something and to see the growth of the zoo boys who are now men just screams to us showing us that God always has a plan and he is always in control I can’t wait to see the journey of Dio and him rising to his place
I thought Chevy’s Promise was THAT BOOK for me…. Took me through some emotional roller coasters and had me crying harder than I ever had for any book.. ever….
Mfckn JUNE CALLOWAY….. June, June, June…. This is the best book yet, and I know there is more to come.
Tatiana, you did your big one with this.. you truly have a gift that is second to none for me…. I thank you for sharing that gift. God has great things in store for you my love… keep going and you will see.. 🥰
Mizzzz Tati!!!!!!!!. You did another big one with this book. I had to take my time and read. So much was unpacked. Chevy is still that n*igg*. You brought out so many emotions. Absolutely love Chevy down. The growth in the team was amazing, and the building of new understandings was awesome. But the ending took me out. Now i have to wait!!!!!!. 10 STAR read.
This book deserves a 5 star review! You just have to read it. The entire series is PHENOMENAL! So many twists, turns & possibilities. Every relationship isn’t a fairy tale which is something I also enjoy about this series. June Calloway is BAE up & DOWN!!!! 😍😍😍😍 I can’t get enough of him & Zaria. Let’s not forget about Samara & her new family!! That did it for me. I am hooked!
