Ever since the last werewolf died, the world has started giving up. Apparently, that's my problem now.
When Amari killed the last werewolf, she broke something fundamental. Soldiers are quitting. Doctors don't care anymore. Even my sister dropped out of university.
But Cassie says she's just as qualified to hunt the mythical as I am. She's wrong. Her best friend's in hospital after saving her from a lamia attack, slowly losing her sanity to its venom. And Cassie's going after a cure – with or without me.
To keep Cassie safe, I need to find the lamia first. But the deeper I dig, the more I realise: tracking down one creature won't fix this. The only way to stop the world from giving up is to restore what Amari destroyed.
I need to bring back the werewolf.
But how do you create a new werewolf when there's none left to sire one?
Hunting for answers leads me to an illegal market where mythical creatures are sold like used clothes at a bazaar.
I thought we'd put a stop to the poaching in Rome. Turns out, there's a syndicate behind it all.
And the more I look, the more I have to ask: is the Elder Council – and my father – part of it?

We excitingly pick up from the end of Myth Keeper's cliff hanger ending.
It's all very much still go, go, go!
Ambrose has more than his hands full, with dealing with both the Repository and the goings on in the outside world.
His dilemma is trying to protect his friends and family, whilst keeping the balance of preserving the rare mythical creatures.
I've totally loved this latest installment of the Mythical Menagerie series.
Once again I'm desperate to find out what happens next.
A superb series - don't miss out!

The third episode of the Mythical Menagerie is really well done. I enjoyed hearing about the new adventures of the characters and Ms le Roux has written a lovely book again, for fans of urban legends and fantasy.
