Betrayed, alone, and locked away in a dark cell, Amelia fights to hold on to hope.
But with the war she fought to prevent looming closer, and Kyvir nowhere to be seen, hope turns into desperation.
A traitor to one country, and an enemy of the other, Amelia must prove her innocence and protect those she loves before time runs out and she loses everything...
4 stars. At last, the conclusion to the Adventures in Eldnaire series! I honestly don't remember super well what happened in the first two books, so it took me a few chapters to find my bearings again. But I quickly fell into the world again. I enjoyed meeting the characters again, and I particularly enjoyed all the humour the mercenary brought! There was plenty of suspense, but everything wrapped up very satisfactorily and I was really delighted by the villain's unconventional choice—so unique and so striking! Overall, this is a series I want to reread again.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book for promotional purposes. I was not required to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.*
Positives: This book was so well written. The plot was decent and kept me engaged and in suspense until the end. I LOVE Ivan's character. He is my favorite. I also love Duke Gladik. He is the best! I love all the sword training scenes with Amelia, and I ADORE Ivan's rules for sword fighting XD. I need to get them framed. This book had a lot of excellent quotes. I think Vilnaria is a fascinating place and I'd love to read more stories in the world of Eldnaire. Kay was written so well! I am constantly guessing his true intentions and getting it wrong half the time XD. The final chapter of this book was really sweet.
Negatives: (You could love this book. This is just my opinion.) So, at the beginning of this book I said I needed Amelia to do more or be more in the story to redeem her character for me. And she almost did that. A lot of the story seems to just happen to her, and she is just basically thrown into a storm, and does nothing until another character comes in and triggers her to do something or saves her. She did do a lot better in this book than the last two. She actually learned practical skills and owns knives now. And she is showing more ownership over her life, which makes her less annoying. I just felt she needed more character change. I really don't know how she and her husband will survive in their new roles. Kyvir doesn't have as strong a character as I thought originally. And who knows, maybe she will learn more in her future life. I can see that she is potentially on a road to be more capable, but I didn't see that in this book. Half of how this book ended wasn't satisfying for me. I wish certain things had happened that didn't. I don't like that certain people got away with things without punishment, or at least with a slap on the wrist.
Overall, I would still recommend this trilogy to people. I think a lot of the things that annoyed me could just be personal preference, and that another person would enjoy the ending to the trilogy more. I would probably reread at some point.
I really appreciate that this is a clean fantasy trilogy.
Content: Romance: A little Violence: Yes. Not graphic Cussing: None
I received a review copy from the author. All thoughts are my own.
THE CONCLUSION OF THIS STORY WAS EVERYTHING I NEEDED!!
the character growth of Leon!!! ugh, his character really grew on me as the books have gone on. also the addition of Ivan, he was such a great addition to this cast of characters we had. OH and i adored how Amelia changed her mind about mercenaries and what they stand for. she also had some growth this book as well, she started to gain more strength and really took charge in making things right with the help of others but also just having a mindset that never stopped.
SIR FERN!?? UGH!!! I want to hate his character and I mean…I do but like the way his story ended you kinda have a soft spot for what he did but then it gets over shadowed when you remember all he did the last two books.
also the romance between amelia and kyvir is sweet, innocent, and will make your heart flutter. they have heart eyes for each other the moment they meet and ugh! when they reconnect after horrible sir fern plants a horrible HORRIBLE! story in kyvir’s mind, i was like yes!!! finally back together. the ending !!! THE QUESTION WAS ASKED!! YES I SQUEALED!!
the action, the politics, the characters, everything was so well rounded out and is definitely a trilogy that i would love everyone to read!

It’s official - the final installment of the Adventures in Eldnaire trilogy is out in the world! This series is perfect for pre and early teens who enjoy reading stories set in fantasy kingdoms (no magic), that include royalty, secrets, scheming, sibling relationships, and clean romance. Actually, readers of any age can enjoy these stories.
I truly appreciate that the content is clean (no foul language or spice). The main characters are young and the coming of age element is fully realized in this third book. Amelia, the female main character, struggles to know who she can trust and, at the same time, wants to figure out who she is and what she wants for her life. There are lots of twists and turns and some shocking developments. I don’t want to give spoilers, though! The stakes are high and if you’re a fan of royal intrigue and coming of age stories, check it out - the whole series is on Kindle Unlimited right now!
I was excited to read this third book in the series because I truly loved the first two. I really enjoy Thirzah's writing style. She keeps the action going, but also gives her characters time to think and let us in on how they're feeling. There were some things that were so funny I laughed out loud and others that were so subtle they could have been easily missed. I like humor, so that made it even more enjoyable for me. I think Amelia might be a bit like Thirzah herself. I could easily imagine her doing some of these things given the opportunity. So Amelia feels authentic, like a real person with real feelings. I was afraid that the ending was not going to be what I wanted because of the events that kept going from bad to worse, but it all turned out good in the end. A very satisfying read, I finished it in 2 days, because I had a hard time putting it down.
The Ambassador's Ploy is a fun, quippy read with compelling characters, high stakes, and laugh-out-loud banter! I don't want to give any spoilers, but the end was perfectly swoony, and Ivan is my new favourite character (I don't care if he's making up his "rules" as he goes along, he's hilarious). Thirzah did an amazing job with balancing idealism and pragmatism in conflicts between Amelia and Ivan, and I love that Amelia always stays true to the light. There are so many morally grey protagonists, it's refreshing to see one that thinks the means required to achieve an end matter, instead of justifying them with a "whatever it takes" mentality. Would highly recommend the entire series!
What an ending!! The first chapters plunge you straight into the action, and it just keeps going to a satisfying conclusion! I really enjoyed getting to see how the characters grew over the course of the trilogy, and there were plenty of twists in the plot to keep me guessing as to how the story would end. The challenges and choices the characters face and the lessons they learn are thought-provoking and relatable for all ages. I’m sad the series is over, but I’m definitely excited to read what Thirzah writes next!
Well done, Thirzah! This final adventure brings together many plot twists and what look like no-way-out moments. The characters each have their own personality and with the main characters, we see decision-making, testing out character traits to live by, and it all comes out well in the end! I love the relationship of Amelia and her brother..can't help but think of the author and her brother, who are very dear to me!
I was so excited for this third book, I re-read the first two so I wouldn't miss a detail. This is a wonderful series for young adults. I especially love how Thirzah doesn't make everything so squeaky clean. Even a heroine who has a happy ending suffers loss and pain along the way.
