Tom Langlas blends true history, science fantasy, and speculative fiction in his writing. As a graduate student at Yale, he researched ancient myths in the restricted vaults of the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. He also studied the private papers of Lovecraft and Poe at Miskatonic University in Arkam, Massachusetts.
After graduation from Yale Law School, Tom traveled the world in search of adventure and knowledge, from the carnivals of Bahia to the catacombs of Praetextatus. More recently, he’s explored the Mayan ruins of the Yucatan and prowled the remote black bear and elk ranges of Michigan’s Huron National Forest.
Tom is the author of the Sentinel Files novels, a series of stand-alone thrillers that mix the action of James Rollins, the horror of Stephen King, and the military science of Brad Thor. When not writing, he practices law on behalf of a select group of clients.

OMG! I started reading it today after kids off to school... COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! in fact, I just finished it :) This is the continuation of Book One of the same name that I read earlier this summer. I was blown-away by the fast pace, interesting situations, twists/turns in the plot. Langlas really kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat for this one. Great ending to the story with promise of more books to come with these super interesting characters. Book one was good - this was GREAT. What a fantastic way to spend a rainy day!

Thrills and chills. An amazing family battles for their lives against Chilean mercenaries, Nazis, and a killer beast. Well researched historical and geographical aspects keep the novel grounded in reality. I especially liked the female main characters, who were believable. Good dialogue. I'm going to keep up with this series!

When's the movie coming out! Great character development in this compelling adventure. The mix of history and fiction is done very, very well. I would love to see this novel explode on the big screen.

Book 2

I give 4 stars again to Tom Langlas. I enjoyed the story a lot and will undoubtedly pick up another sequel if he writes one.
This is an "Occult Thriller". He uses some characters from WW2, Lovecraft, and the Bible in vague parts when talking about Nephilim and Genesis. I think the book was well-written, but would still like the characters to be fleshed out a little more. Mason is my favorite, and Rayen is cool too.
If you like historical fact mixed with occult fiction this is a good one to read.
