Wonderful story

Heartfelt romance, a twist, down to earth and believable flawed characters, and witty, entertaining dialogue. I could not put this story down until the end. Just read it you shouldn't be disappointed.

Joseph, who has had a difficult past leading him to believe that he isn’t capable of love, feels a need to find a good female role model for his young daughter. Catriona, content to help her two younger sisters find happiness, has resigned herself to a life of spinsterhood. When he sees her across a ballroom, the draw is instant, although he isn’t able to identify whose foreign emotions. Making a mutually beneficial offer of marriage allows Joseph to have a proper role model for is daughter, while offering his name, rank, and connections to Catriona’s efforts to aid her sisters in their quest for happiness. His stipulation that this will be a marriage of convenience isn’t a problem for either one of them…until it is. The slow-burn development of a relationship into something more has some sweet, tender moments, as well as heartbreakingly frustrating moments in which you wish you could give them both a push in the right direction. Joseph’s ability to recognize emotions that are foreign to him is a journey we’re willing to take with him as we can see where it will end. Sweet and lovely, this story is enhanced by very memorable side characters in the form of a precocious daughter, two sisters in need of their own stories, and an uncle who might just be perfect for this group of women. This one is just sweet from beginning to end.

Grief and detachment!

A sad story of how lack of knowledge of post partardom depression can affect the family. Duke Joseph’s first wife sank into severe depression after her daughter was born. After her suicide, Joseph determined to never get close to anyone, but his now seven year old daughter needs a woman in her life, to guide her, when Dorothea fall into the river and Catriona saves her, he has found his duchess. As she is only in London to help her two younger sisters enter society, thanks to their uncle.of course nothing runs smoothly, but interesting!

This was really a fantastic book. It was nice to actually read that a happy doting uncle took over when her parents died. The characters realistic, and drew you in. The plot was great as well. It was cleanly written, which I appreciate.

The only problem that I could complain about is the preview the pre-log in the epilogue did not work. You click on it and it gives you about 10 sentences and that’s it.

An American version of regency England. Totally unrealistic. A duke having no servants and the manners of the characters so out of true it made the story very poor indeed. I will not be reading anymore of this author until she pays more attention to detail and researches the era in which she basis her story.

To Love a Scot

With a name like Catriona and a firey personality to boot, I knew this book was of to a great start. Add in a sweet tempered 7-year-old and a handsome, standoffish Duke, and the rest was history. I love the story, the fur baby Nina, and Cat's crazy sisters and eccentric Great-Uncle.

This was a great story. She wanted to take care of her sisters and she did. However, she found love along the way. It's sweet how Dorothea takes to her so well. It took Joseph a while to realize what love was. You don't want to miss this sweet story.

Overall, I really like this book.... But why the heck is the extended epilogue not included?? How annoying. That alone made me want to rate this book poorly even though I enjoyed it... obviously I'm not going to do that because I really like the book... 🤣🤣

I’m honestly shocked that a book with this many spelling errors, missing words, and grammatical mistakes could get published. Story was fine, if a bit boring.
