Noonie is a raw, slow-burning collision between two black men from opposite sides of the city and the consequences that come when power, sex, and secrets tangle in the dark.
Vaughn Legrand is polished, privileged, and on track to become one of DC’s youngest councilmen. But behind his campaign suit lies a secret he’s fought to bury. One with a name, a face, and a southeast zip code.
Dayvin ‘Noonie’ Hilton is a southeast street legend. No apologies, no filter, no shame. When he crosses paths with Vaughn, the flirtation is quick. The obsession? Even quicker.
Their secret affair ignites a scandal that stretches years, pulling in Vaughn’s sharp eyed fiancée, Brielle, a mysterious pregnancy, a murder with no body, and a younger brother who returns years later to uncover the truth.
In a city where silence is currency and power is bought in blood, everyone’s got something to lose. And no one walks away clean.
Omggg my heart hurts so bad 😭 I was not expecting to be in tears when I picked this book up 💔 Vaughn ain’t shit! Noonie didn’t deserve that at allll! Noonie just wanted to be loved out loud 🥺 That baby did not want to be a secret & Vaughn just couldn’t live out his truth. When the truth started to tumble out, I was shook. Noonie deserved a happy ending & I’m so sad he didn’t get that. This was truly a great read, but be prepared to shed a tear or two!

I read this book just because the cover was so captivating. Didnt read the synopsis or anything. And I am so glad I did! Such a heart wrenching story. The story is fiction, but the world definitely has some Noonies that still haven’t received their justice. Will definitely be checking out more from this author!
This is a new to me author and this won’t be the last book I read from this author either. I loved the fact that this story is based out of DC, so it felt more like o was there versus reading it. Be prepared it’s full of drama, secrets and heartbreaks. I enjoyed this soo much if I keep writing I’ll start to tell the story. Please read it.
This was probably a good read but the way there was no separation btw the characters. It’s like one min you’re reading about Vaughn and then it just jumps to Noonie. It’s also too slow for me, it’s taking too long for something to start happening.
