Noonie is a raw, slow-burning collision between two black men from opposite sides of the city and the consequences that come when power, sex, and secrets tangle in the dark.
Vaughn Legrand is polished, privileged, and on track to become one of DC’s youngest councilmen. But behind his campaign suit lies a secret he’s fought to bury. One with a name, a face, and a southeast zip code.
Dayvin ‘Noonie’ Hilton is a southeast street legend. No apologies, no filter, no shame. When he crosses paths with Vaughn, the flirtation is quick. The obsession? Even quicker.
Their secret affair ignites a scandal that stretches years, pulling in Vaughn’s sharp eyed fiancée, Brielle, a mysterious pregnancy, a murder with no body, and a younger brother who returns years later to uncover the truth.
In a city where silence is currency and power is bought in blood, everyone’s got something to lose. And no one walks away clean.
My jaw is on the floor and I’m actually upset LMAO. What was Brielles point???? Vaughn???????????? Like okay evil. I enjoyed the plot of this story I just didn’t enjoy the writing style. It was very clipped and dark, but maybe that was the point? There was emotion when there needed to be but the one word sentences to describe certain things wasn’t for me. And how a toddler recognize a random man that looks like him? Lol. And I thought Brielle was working with somebody else but whole time it was..????? Like huh????! Vaughn is TRASH. I don’t think yall understand how upsetting this was for me lmao I LOVED NOONIE!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll be honest I skimmed most of this book it seemed real repetitive. So I may have missed some things. But I will say when you have a clear time line make sure you remember it. If she was 6 weeks in June but she had the baby in October…then later she visited him in January/February. The time line kind of messed up the story. But the ending is what earned it 5 stars.
Omggg my heart hurts so bad 😭 I was not expecting to be in tears when I picked this book up 💔 Vaughn ain’t shit! Noonie didn’t deserve that at allll! Noonie just wanted to be loved out loud 🥺 That baby did not want to be a secret & Vaughn just couldn’t live out his truth. When the truth started to tumble out, I was shook. Noonie deserved a happy ending & I’m so sad he didn’t get that. This was truly a great read, but be prepared to shed a tear or two!

Noonie had my heart from page 1. It seems he was the love of DC too. It broke my heart how he was treated, but then again, that’s what happens when you love someone who doesn’t accept who they are. This was heavy in a good way. I hope people who struggle with their identity, sexual or otherwise, read this book and understand the cost of living a life in secret. Lore did an amazing job writing a complex tale of denial, who it harms and what it can cost to keep the lie going.
I read this book just because the cover was so captivating. Didnt read the synopsis or anything. And I am so glad I did! Such a heart wrenching story. The story is fiction, but the world definitely has some Noonies that still haven’t received their justice. Will definitely be checking out more from this author!
This is a new to me author and this won’t be the last book I read from this author either. I loved the fact that this story is based out of DC, so it felt more like o was there versus reading it. Be prepared it’s full of drama, secrets and heartbreaks. I enjoyed this soo much if I keep writing I’ll start to tell the story. Please read it.
This book was riveting and exciting. It has suspense, delicate drama, sexuality and a real connection. It gave us great drama, sex and intrigue. This was erotic and sensual. A true recommendation, that this author has a presence and true ability for erotica!
Why did you do this to me? I am heartbroken. I am crying for Noonie. Oh my God. He just wanted Vaughn to love him and chose him. But his career driven scary ass killed him. Oh my God. I wanna two piece Brielle ass too. Man I just found you just searching on my Kindle and baby I’m hooked. You wrote this book. I’ve read 2 of your other books already. I’m a fan now!!
This was probably a good read but the way there was no separation btw the characters. It’s like one min you’re reading about Vaughn and then it just jumps to Noonie. It’s also too slow for me, it’s taking too long for something to start happening.
Talk about emotional roller coaster..... This book gives every emotional aspect there is..... As my first Lore book to be read...... I hooked! The storyline feels like a blockbuster film... Well written and may we never forget Noonie 😥😇
This is the second book I’ve read that had me emotional and crying. It did not go the way I thought it would. This was a 5 star read for me and if you haven’t read it, give it a try.
This book really broke me, I didn't expect this at all. Noonie is a Southeast legend and Vaughn is an up and coming politician. When they cross paths several times in the neighborhood, their attraction is evident and a secret affair ensues. Secrets, lies and possibly murder are swirling around in DC. This book had me going through so many emotions. I really wanted to give this book 5 stars but there are some time line issues and some unanswered questions and some things that didn't add up especially when it comes to Brielle.
