When a cowboy falls, he falls hard. Even for the woman who's already halfway out the door.
Zane Wyatt has sworn off women and the heartbreak they bring. But one unexpected afternoon with a curvy influencer shatters his resolve. Now she’s in his small town, lighting up his ranch, and testing every wall he’s built around his guarded heart.
Capri Sutton lives her life in front of a camera—smiles polished, posts perfect. But behind the filters, she’s just a single mom searching for stability and a place to call her home. The last thing she expects to find in the Texas Hill Country is him—a brooding, maddeningly handsome cowboy with eyes that see right past her perfect filters.
She’s sunshine and sass. He’s grump and grit. She’s got the world watching. He’s got walls that only she can tear down.
The clock is ticking. Their chemistry is explosive. And if they’re not careful, one magical afternoon might be the only one they ever get.
Aubrey Kent loves all things romance! Her books promise smart heroines, swoon-worthy men, and a guaranteed HEA — plus some serious heat along the way.
Sometimes, a book finds you at just the right time—like a warm breeze that smells like sun-drenched hayfields and second chances. That was Influencing the Rancher for me. And let me tell you, this isn’t just a romance—it’s a reminder that love doesn’t care about timing, filters, or carefully curated plans.
From the moment Zane Wyatt appeared on the page—grumpy, guarded, and hell-bent on keeping his heart locked tighter than his barn doors—I was hooked. He’s the kind of man who doesn’t say much, but when he does, it means something. And Capri? Capri Sutton is the exact opposite—she’s bright, bold, and always camera-ready. But behind that influencer persona is a woman who’s tired of performing and aching for something real. Something permanent.
Their collision feels inevitable and electric—like striking a match in the middle of a drought. One unexpected afternoon brings them together, but it’s what follows that had me clutching the book with both hands: the stolen glances, the tentative honesty, the walls slowly coming down with every unspoken truth and every soft, unexpected moment between them.
What hit me hardest, though, wasn’t the chemistry (though… wow, there’s plenty of that 🔥). It was the quiet vulnerability that unfolded between these two very different people—one hiding behind silence, the other behind a lens. The scenes with Capri’s child were especially moving. Watching Zane soften not just to Capri, but to her life, made this story feel bigger than romance. It felt like healing.
I saw so much of myself in Capri—her fear of staying still too long, her need to appear “okay” even when the world feels like it’s crumbling. And Zane? He reminded me of every person who’s ever been hurt too deeply to hope again. Their story reminded me that even the most guarded hearts can be cracked wide open—with patience, kindness, and the courage to stay when it would be easier to run.

When influencer Capri Sutton is challenged by a handsome cowboy for taking photos near his land, she never expected that interaction would change her life. Zane Wyatt is very secretive and protective of his land and his family, and thinks the worst when he sees the beautiful Capri next to his fence. Realising he made a mistake, he invites her back to take as many photos as she wants, and soon he knows he never wants her, or her daughter Maddie.
This was such a fun and cute novella, that I wish was longer. Capri and Zane had chemistry which was off the charts, and though it was quick how they got together, it was fate - they were just meant to be together. I adored the way that Zane made sure to include Maddie in the different activities they did, fully respecting Capri as her mother, and making sure it was clear he was in it for the long haul. There's hints to the other books in the series, and I'm really intrigued by the extended cast of characters.
This was such a fun read!! The opening scene between Zane and Capri was such a hoot. Capri was not looking for love when she came to Indigo Hills. But.... when the heart wants what it wants, there's not much that you can do except embrace it.
These two had chemistry right from the start. The sex was steamy, naughty. But it was Zane's caring personality that had Capri falling for the grump. As she slowly melted the grump's heart. Let's not forget Capri's daughter, Maddie. That little girl was such a little love in this book! I enjoyed her just as much as the main characters. She was sweet, curious, very bright and so very funny. Who didn't love how Maddie interacted with her unicorn friend Stuffy?
I loved reading Capri and Zane getting their HEA. The epilogue was Chef's Kiss! This author has a wonderful way of telling a love story. I will most definitely willcheck out more of her books in the future.
A beautiful story, well written with amazing characters. Capri and Zane meet while she is taking pictures for her platform. Zane is a little leary at first after a broken engagement 2 years ago. Capri is leary because her daughter comes first. The little girl has Zane wrapped around her little finger from the first meeting. As the ice thaws from their hearts they find a lasting love to make them a family.

Sweet and Spicy romance where a two opposites set off sparks in Indigo Hills. Zane and Capri’s first meeting was a battle of wills as he challenges her picture taking near his ranch. The banter and heat between the two singed my kindle. Loved all the mix of family, friends and precocious Maddie. Looking forward to more from this author.

This was a cute short novella. I'm normally not a huge fan of instalove; however, this story needed to be due to the length. I do think it was tasteful and sweet. I liked that Maddie's dad was still in the picture and Zane got along well with him at the end. The only downside to me was just how quick they fell together instead of there being more buildup.
I love when you read and you feel a connection with the characters. Capri and Zane are fantastically written. Zane is that perfect book boyfriend. Capri didn’t stand a chance of not connecting and falling in love. Both of their families are loving and supportive. This short read is sure to melt your heart. Zane and Capri are entertaining, steamy and will have you devoting a few hours just sitting and reading this 5/5-star romance book. Holy smokes I fell hard and fast while reading this storyline and hang on because things are about to get a bit steamy.
I really enjoyed this book. Take one rancher and one influencer and you get a highly entertaining story. Add in a four year old and some best friends and this quickly becomes a must-read.

Good news they win! Beautiful location, real people with meaningful relationships. The dialogue is witty and had me laughing out loud. A super good book.
This is a very good story. This was the first of the series can’t wait to read the next book. I love that he was so good with her daughter. Such a good guy.
