Firstly, massive thanks to the author for sending me an ARC copy of this book! After reading the first one, I was so excited for this, and it definitely delivered.
The start was a little slower — which I actually loved. You get so much build-up and angst between the characters, and it makes the emotional payoff feel so worth it.
I also really liked that the characters weren’t just surface level. You get proper insight into who they are and why they do what they do. It made me connect with them a lot more.
I read a lot of mafia romance, so it was nice to have something a bit different — especially with a Vietnamese FMC. That added such a refreshing twist and more depth to the story.
If you’re after a spicy, steamy time, this probably isn’t the one. But if you want something deep, intense, with an obsessed MMC, a badass FMC, high stakes and morally grey characters — this is 100% for you.
And I’m seriously keeping my fingers crossed for Sylvio’s book next… he seems a little unhinged and I love that 🤣

I got an ARC for this book and my God, I am HOOKED. Alina and Dante are both my spirit animals. The slow burn, the sexual tension…
“You like being tortured or something?” I drawled, eyes lasered in on the bloody mess running down our legs.
“Or something,” she roused in between pants. “Do your worst.”
For the sadistic monster that lay underneath the gentlemanly façade, I followed its unregulated thoughts.
“Your wish is my command.”
Thank you Vy Le for the ARC, this book is one of my new faves.

ARC Review - This book exceeded my expectations, I literally could NOT put it down! The plot, the characters was just perfection! I highly recommend this book! You can clearly tell the author took her time to create these amazing characters adding so much insight and depth to their characters, it was such a good read!

Alina and Dante🥰
Vy Le world is the Cosa Nostra. The Sicilian Mafia. When men are born into this old age where the women have no voices and are treated like they are nothing and stupid. Her writing is so refreshing!!! Mostly, her book is written from the MFC POV. Don’t get me wrong, a few chapters are reserved for the MMC. Her females characters have been in traumatic situations or relationships. But they are fighters, survivors. They just needed the right men to start trusting again, that life is worth living for. And she wrote the best Male characters to fit that role. They are cold hearted , stubborn, morally grey, powerful, scary, dominant and think love is a weakness but under their Armor, they are possessive and will burn the world down for their women.
Every books have a slow burn and the men fall for the women first and hard!!! And when the connection is finally there, it’s like fireworks!!!!
Second book is Made in Deception with Alina Morelli and Dante Beneveti. Dante is the cousin and consigliere to Luciano. He was chosen for is impartiality, his diplomatic skills and his coldness attitude towards business dealings. He is the one you sent when you need things done fast and accurate. Alina was sent to kill him. She was raised and trained to be to best assassins. Their relationship will be a cat and mouse between them.
This series is a must add in your TBR and you will thank me for that!!! 5⭐️

Vy Le did it again!!! I got the honor to be an ARC reader for this book and I didn’t think I could love MMC more than Luciano , but Dante said move over!!!! I love this world that Vy Le has created, it’s intense and beautiful! I love to see a badass female character at the helm in stories and Alina is definitely one of them. In a world dominated by men she takes on a job she constantly has to prove herself, even when she’s the best their family has, which I feel is very relatable to any many other women in male dominated fields, just not the unaliving kind 🤣👍🏻 Very much a slow burn, but it’s so worth it to see these characters form the relationship that they do. Though ment to be sworn enemies they find a common ground that they relate to each other on!!!! I’m also obsessed with their natural pull to each other like the whole book is filled with tension before they even start to consider each other in a deeper manner!!!

4.5 ⭐️ oooo this was good!!! i am an absolute sucker for slow burn romances mixed in with the mafia, I am sat. I love the characters, story, the intensity, tension & danger that lurks. Dante & Alina are my babies!!! I loved getting a glimpse into their backstories and why they became the people they are now. Helped connect with them and feel for them since they’ve had struggles and came out stronger than ever. Alina is a badass FMC, i loved seeing her never give up despite her entire world falling apart. Dante is a morally grey MMC, who is super cold & emotional less turn into a lover boy for alina. Dante is OBSESSED with Alina from the very beginning and i loved the slow burn cuz we were able to see their relationship develop. It was not spice filled which was a breath of fresh air cuz the moments that were intimate were tension filled and so worth it ! It was a good mafia romance, i will be going back and reading book 1 and im excited for book 3 🫶🏻🖤

Honestly, whoa. I had such a good time reading this book! I loved the story and characters—it was intriguing and so easy to read. At first, it felt a little slow, but around 25% in I was HOOKED.
Dante… y’all, this man 🧎🏼♀️🧎🏼♀️ The way he was obsessed with her from the beginning, and how he went from this cold, unfeeling guy to a total marshmallow for his girl was so cute🥹 And Alina, my girl—I wish I could step into the book and give her a hug. She’s so strong and so kind to the people she cares about 🫂
If you’re looking for a dark mafia romance that’ll make you laugh, with a “only for you” MMC, go read this!!

Vy Le is a great story teller!! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Made in Deception. this is Vy's second book and I am absolutely loved it. You should ready the first book - Made in Sin as it sets the scene between the families and the characters.
I love Dante- underneath his tough exterior, he is a kind soul who like Alina has lost alot. This story is not just about the battle between the two families, it's aout how love could conquer it all, if we let our guards down and show ourselves.
I cannot wait for the next book, I hope it's about Silvio!!!! A must read from an emerging new author.

This book is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I love Assassin books but it’s so hard to find one that involves the mafia. I found this book on tik tok and had to read it. I absolutely fell in love. The relationship between Dante and Alina was incredible. I loved that Alina was a bada** female. I absolutely love her!!! I would highly recommend this book if you love a book mafia dark romance story!

Vy Le is a new to me author, and I was hooked from the very first line.
The book consists of two parts, and I often chuckled during the first part. Besides the action, the banter was refreshing.
FMC Alina is a well-known assassin and never misses her target until her assignment involves Dante Beneveti. The consigliere of the Beneveti family is always two steps ahead of Alina.
The second part focuses on the developing relationship between the two main characters. Emotions, secrets from the past, plotting, suspense, and a bit of smut round out the mafia story. The focus is on slow burn, rivals to lovers, and forced proximity. I can recommend the book.
