He denied his son. He betrayed the woman who trusted him. Now, he’s back—and nothing is simple anymore.
Five intense days were all it took to change everything. Jasmine Journee gave Leonardo Baldi her heart—and ended up with a lifetime reminder of the man who walked away. He knew about their child. He looked her in the eye and still chose to turn his back. Now, years later, he’s returned full of regret, promises, and eyes that still make her burn.
Leonardo has made plenty of mistakes, but none haunt him like denying his son. He’s ready to take responsibility, to show up—for real this time. For Jasmine. For the boy he refused to claim. But proving he’s not just there for the heat they still can’t resist means digging deep... and healing the damage he caused.
Jasmine has never stopped protecting her son—and letting his father into their world might be the riskiest move of all. Especially when she’s now the one with secrets. Especially when her heart still remembers the man who broke it.
Surrounded by the chaos of a newly discovered family and a connection that refuses to fade, they’ll have to figure out if redemption is enough... or if some wounds cut too deep.
Can a man who once walked away finally become the one who stays?
Publisher's For the best reading experience, it is highly recommended that you read Left before diving into this book. Part 1 is the first half of Leonardo and Jasmine’s emotional journey and is not a standalone. Their story will conclude in Part 2.
Niccoyan Zheng is a Canadian wife, mother, and foodie. The written word has always held her captive. Even before her debut novel “Consumed,” her characters have been urging her to write their stories for years. She looks forward to sharing their diversity, complexity and flaws.
Right is the second book in Niccoyan Zheng’s separated-at-birth series featuring twins Emmanuel and Leonardo. After reading Left and experiencing the toxic and petty messes that Leonardo had made of so many lives, I was not sure how Ms. Zheng would be able to explain his actions and make him into a sympathetic character 😊. I had no need to be worried! Leonard has made some progress with his relationship with his brother; however, he has still not had the opportunity, or even the words, to explain the unexplainable to Jasmine. How can you tell the love of your life that you lied about your identity, refused to legitimize your son, and walked away from the best thing that ever happened to you?? Just how? Jasmine is kind, sweet, honest and nurturing. She did not deserve any of the upheaval knowing and loving Leonardo brought into her life. Now the father of her child is back and while he desperately wants to know his son, he also wants another chance to make their relationship into something more than the five-day lovefest that started this situationship. Can she trust her heart and head to make the right decision, but more importantly can she trust that Leonardo is sincere in his plea for forgiveness or is he too damaged to know how to love with integrity and steadfastness? This story answers some of our questions; Leonardo has only just started his work toward redemption. I am eager to see how the other pieces of the narrative unfold. What is on Lizard’s (I mean Larson’s agenda)? How will Leonardo respond to fatherhood? Will any more secrets come out of Leonardo’s past/present? Will Jelissa have her own story 😊? Who’s zooming Ms. Grace? I always enjoy Ms. Zheng’s fantastically rendered stories! Favorite Lines: You’re not a stranger, Emmanuel. He couldn’t handle her calling him by another’s man name. Inexplicably, he felt a sense of hurt. Sissy, time doesn’t matter when the heart is involved. No. We aren’t related. We met on a doppelgänger’s site. https://theretiredreader.com/read-for...
This book picks up where Left stopped. We learn in left that Emmanuel has a long lost brother and twin Leonardo who is the father of Jasmine baby and was unredeemable but Miss Zheng has a way of telling a story that makes you actually root for the underdog Leonardo. In right we get the backstory of Jasmine and Leonardo. You see him trying to make things right not only with Jasmine but with his brother as well. It was nice to see how far Leonardo has come and the things he is willing to do to get to meet his son as well as the growing relationship with his brother Emmanuel and his family except Larson and I can’t wait for Right part two to see how the brothers take down Larson the father that made a mother choose between her sons.
This book totally changed my feelings about Leonardo. Doggone it! I wanted to keep hating him after what his lies almost did to Emmanuel and Ivy's marriage. But everyone deserves a chance to redeem themselves, I guess. Even Jasmine had to admit that Leo was trying to be transparent and working hard towards being a better man and father for their son and for her as well.
I love that Leo and Manny are getting to know each other and are developing a relationship. Reading some of the banter between them was quite hilarious at times. But for others, namely Larsen, they will never learn. I can't WAIT for karma to knock on his door like a bookie who he owes money to!
Part One of "Right" was an absolutely captivating read. It picks up seamlessly where Ivy and Manny’s story left off in "Left." From the very start, we’re thrust into a world where Leo has a lot of healing to do with Jazz. The emotional stakes are high, and I find myself invested in their journey. What truly intrigues me is the unique and fresh plot; it explores the profound question of how a man, who once turned his back on everything, can seek redemption with the one he abandoned. The story compels me to ponder whether Leo truly deserves a second chance to amend his mistakes with Jazz and reconnect with his son. Each twist and turn leaves me eager to see how it all unfolds!

It’s the start of the other side of the story. For the 1st part of the book, we divide right back in the story. This time around, our main couple is Leonardo "Leo" Baldi &Jasmine Journee. However, before our couple can even entertain their possible HEA, several major factors have to be addressed first. Jasmine Journee is still adjusting not only to her new job, but at the possible Leonardo reentering back into her life, but also being introduced to their son, Tommaso. On the other end, we have Leonardo, who is actively working through his past trauma and overall worthiness. I won’t spoil the story, but I will say hearing more about Leonardo and Jasmine definitely put some things into perspective. There was no shortage of drama, humor, and steamy romance. I have a few theories about certain characters. Overall, I enjoy the story and am looking forward to how it concludes in the following book.
I can't even begin to explain how invested I am in this series. I am so grateful to Ms. Niccoyan for writing such a brilliant trope. The secret sibling is now my new favorite. Emmanuel was stepping up and showing out for Leonardo, and I love that for them. Ivy is so bomb. Jasmine...you'll get it together. Ms. Grace, well, alright then...I can't wait for the finale!
Heartache finds it's voice. Leonardo finally gets his say and the aftershocks are breathtaking. From a family found to a secret revealed, Zheng exposes a love that endures. For Jasmine and Leo emotion is explosive, but the attraction burns just as deep.
This is Jasmine and Leonardo's story from the Left to the Right. How can Leonardo right his wrongs when he lied and denied his own child? Part II is coming. Really good read and explains Jasmine and Leonardo's beginning and near fatal end.
Right is a second chance story that Leonardo is giving a chance to not just make things right with Jasmine but with Emmanuel as well. To see the redemption of his character after his introduction in Left was refreshing.
I am loving this saga, great storytelling with engaging and entertaining writing. Excellent believable characters, I just can't wait for the next in the series. If you have not read the first book what are you waiting for? Dive in you will not be disappointed.
Imagine the father of your child denying his own son… and then trying to come back into your life like nothing happened. YO, that’s wild. I could not believe this man. I was deep in my feelings the entire time.
But listen—the chemistry between Jasmine and Leo? Undeniable. Sparks everywhere. The tension, the pull, the way he’s trying to crawl his way back into her good graces—it all made the story so addictive.
I’ll admit… his motives this time around were actually in the right place. Will I ever fully forgive him? Maybe. (But he’s gotta work for it!)
If you haven’t read Left (Book 1), definitely start there before diving into Right. It lays all the emotional groundwork you need to appreciate every messy, heartfelt moment in this one.
