Follow the Rhythm: Fairview City Omegaverse

Rate this book
A standalone story from the Fairview City Omegaverse.

Jess has always resented being an Omega. Years spent at the Omega Center have only deepened her desire for freedom from the expectations that go along with her designation, and honed her ability to shut down her Omega instincts.

Now that she’s finally moving out, she’s determined to build a life on her own terms. No packs, no bonding, and definitely no overbearing Alphas.

But when her high school crush, who’s now an international rockstar, unexpectedly reenters her life, along with two other annoyingly attractive Alphas, Jess’s resolve is tested like never before.

Independence is everything she wants. But can she ignore the rhythm of her heart?

This sweet Omegaverse romance contains LGBTQ content and discussion of sensitive themes.

Follow the Rhythm was the perfect sweet and cozy omegaverse (why choose with, of course, lots of spice) plus it’s a rock star romance. This was exactly what I needed! This is the second book in the Fairview City Omegaverse series and since it’s a standalone, you can totally read this before the 1st. I haven’t read Follow Your Instincts yet but we do get a cameo from the pack in that book.

I loved all the main characters: Jess, Kieran, Charlie, and Ellis - although Ellis had to grow on me cos he was a douchecanoe for a lot of the book. The side characters were also great - Ursula was a trip. The ending felt a little rushed. It would’ve been great to have more time with them as a pack and I wanted more of a wrap up with details on the Bea situation and what everyone was gonna be doing post-epilogue but some of that is just me being greedy.

Thank you so much to Alice Tate for providing an early copy of this ebook to read and review!

This was an interesting book. It was well-written, and I loved the story.

However, it wasn't all my cup of tea. There were some aspects of the book that just didn't suit my reading.

But overall, story line was fun. I enjoyed it a lot. It was something out of my normal reading, and it was fun. I would look into other books by this author cause I do like the writing style.

If this is something you like, then definitely pick this up.

Follow the Rhythm follows Jess, an omega who decides that the traditional omega life isn’t for her. She moves into an omega-friendly apartment to carve out her own path. Early in the story, we meet her best friend—the same one she’s secretly been crushing on. Their friendship drifts apart when he leaves to chase stardom, leaving Jess to navigate life on her own.

Through a twist of fate, Jess and her best friend cross paths again, and along the way she meets new allies. Together, through loss and healing, they form a pack that helps Jess embrace her identity. By the end, she no longer fears being an omega but learns to accept and even find strength in it.

The book includes some spicy moments and delivers a solid take on the omegaverse genre. Overall, it was an enjoyable read—3.5 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this ARC of Follow the Rhythm by Alice Tate. It involves Jess who was a side character in the author’s previous novel Follow Your Instincts who has no interest in being part of a pack. At the beginning, we are introduced to one of the MMCs, Ellis, who she is in school with and has feelings for which were never acted upon. He moves away to seek fame as a singer and she loses touch with him. He becomes a famous rockstar and ends up back in her life by chance. There are two other MMCs she comes in contact with, both associated with the band. It takes a lot for all of them to learn to trust each other and for two of the characters to cope with the loss of a former band members to suicide. There is a lot of healing that has to happen before they can make a family together.

Follow the Rhythm is a cozy, spicy Rockstar Omegaverse that blends grief, healing, and found family. Jess, an omega rejecting tradition, moves into an omega-friendly apartment to start fresh. After losing touch with her best friend (and secret crush), fate brings them back together—and introduces her to a pack that helps her embrace her identity.

The story tackles heavy themes like suicide and its aftermath, but balances them with friendship, loyalty, and lust. Jess, Kieran, Charlie, and Ellis (who eventually redeems himself) make a compelling crew, and side characters like Ursula add flair. The ending felt rushed—I wanted more time with the pack and closure on Bea’s situation—but overall, it was a satisfying read.

Standalone-friendly, spicy, and emotionally layered. 4 stars—and I’m definitely picking up book one

Follow the Rhythm was a solid read for me. I cruised through the entire book very quickly. I loved the hurt, damaged, independent Jess, and her entire story arc. But the boys in this world… just wow. The spice was totally spicing. Kieran, Charlie, and Ellis all complimented each other so well. I think the biggest issues I had was the lack of resolution with Bea and the timing transitions. A couple threw me for loop, reading along and boom the next sentence has a decent time jump with no warning. I had to reread parts trying to figure out if I skipped something. That being said, I’ll still be looking out for other books in the series and going back for book 1 since this was a standalone.

I absolutely loved this book! It follows Jess and her life after she presents as an Omega and her hatred for pack life but she ends up meeting alphas that she falls for and reconnects with an old friend she had a crush on. She finally follows her heart and stops letting the anxiety win. I loved all the characters Jess, her alphas Ellis, Charlie, and Kieran, her friends Austin and Grace. I haven’t read the 1st book but this is a stand alone in the Fairview City Omegaverse. I do love that this books has a cameo of the characters from book 1 and I will be going back and reading it as well!

Book 4⭐️!! Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

ARC review

Follow the Rhythm is the 2nd book in the series( Fairview City OmegaVerse) but also is a stand alone. It centers on main character Jess as she builds her pack ,even if she thinks she doesn’t want a pack. It is multi-POV , which is done really well! The spice was spicing!!!! I did have to deduct for the ending which almost seemed rushed and I needed more from it!. All in all a fun read that made me want to explore more of the series ❤️

I really liked this story. It does deal with some very tough subjects so PLEASE check you trigger warnings. I love Charlie was the prefect golden retriever alpha. Then you have Kieran looks like he could kill but is a sweetie. And rounded it out with the broody alpha with emotional trauma. And got to love our black cat Omega who just needs a pack to prove to her they won't leave. This was a book I didn't want to stop reading I only wish we knew if Bea got the come uppings she deserved

I really enjoyed this book. The way the pack formed was new take for me and I really liked the originality. The only downside I had was I really wanted more from the ending. A more thorough conclusion on Bea and more time with the pack.

Overall, this hurt/comfort, sword crossing rock star romance was a fun read!

Thank you Alice Tate for providing an ARC ebook!

This was a fun Rockstar Omegaverse. I enjoyed all the meet cutest with the Alphas and then her realizing how small her world actually is. This deals with strong subjects, mainly how suicide affects the people left behind. This story is full of grief, betrayal, friendship, loyalty, lust, and much more.

your messy and my messy

This was such a great follow up. I was interested to see Jess and know what her “deal” was. Their HEA definitely felt deserved and a lot of heavy emotions were tested during this one. I enjoyed how the characters all interacted and the raw quality of their stories.

Great book. Feel good read. A little fast paced at times, but it had all the elements to be a full emotional story. Loved the book and very happy to have been chosen to receive an ARC copy. Love the story, the characters, the plot, and intricacies between the characters. Overall, loved the book, and cant wait for more from this author.

ABO hit

If you like A/B/O stories this is a prime read! In addition to dynamics there is also amazing portrayal of mental health problems. Everyone has their tough spots, but working together gets them through

I absolutely adored this book and I swear it took me through every stage of grief, but it was so worth it! It was sweet and spicy and gut-wrenchingly emotional, but the end was well worth the journey.

I loved Jess's character development...having a real, gritty FMC in an omegaverse is always a must read! The MMC's deliver with thoughtfully developed characters that all contribute well to the plot, and the spice is fantastic with great variety!

Really good book

I like the different type of omega in this book. There was more plot and character building, which I found refreshing. No errors or typos, which is also fantastic! Loved it and highly recommend.

This is the story of an Omega who never wanted to bond with an Alpha or be part of a pack. You follow her journey of learning to love herself as well as others. The found family in this story was my favorite part. This was a quick and easy read.
