Malibu Washington (yes, that’s her real name!) is an R&B singer turned influencer with a voice that will bring you to your knees and a face made for magazine covers. She survived a messy divorce from Tyrese—her first love, father of her son, the man who made her famous, and the one who broke her heart. Now she’s engaged to Jaylen, a man who promised her forever.
But what happens when that promise turns out to be a lie? What happens when the only person who can help is the man who broke her heart all those years ago?
This seemed to have the makings of a good story but it wasn’t good to me. The overuse of AI to create the faux internet screen shots and data was exhausting. I also felt like the author didn’t have a clear plan when this began. The story is all over the place and LONG AF with no real decent structure. I couldn’t connect to the FMC at all and nothing came from her deceitful ex and assistant like no punishment no big blow out NOTHING. Then I don’t understand how she had her accounts drained and didn’t involve the law ? Like it’s too many things that needed to be addressed and I felt like they weren’t. The author isn’t a bad writer at all but this story was just a jumble of internet type antics with nothing worthwhile.
DNF’d : The timing of the characters story is weird , the chapters end mid conversation, and the lack of details makes it hard to get into and some parts sound like AI wrote it. Big conflicts will happen and then they’re quickly explained away within a chapter and never mentioned again. It feels like parts of the book were written at different times and then just thrown back together.
Whew! This Time, Forever is exactly as advertised— a messy and emotional second chance romance. It felt like a behind the scenes peek at your favorite entertainers/content creators as they navigate their love life & brands.
As someone who isn’t the biggest fan of the second chance trope, I really appreciated the effort to communicate and use of therapy. Of course there are moments where a main character got too into their head but not at the expense of their progress.
Tyrese and Malibu were meant to be. He jokingly mentioned wanting his family back then got that and more. Their children Alchemy & Dream were sweet additions to this story.
Let me tell you something though— my highlights from this will never see the light of day cause they were getting down. And I was here for every bit of it!
The thing that I disliked was the overuse of IG posts, stories and commercial manuscripts. A few references, blog posts or text messages was fine but multiple pages just felt overboard to me.
Thanks to the author for the ARC and opportunity to review. All thoughts are my own.
I need to stop being influenced by some of these BookTok recommendations. An editor was desperately needed here, and not just for grammatical errors. I felt like I was reading a high school student’s creative writing project. 🫠
*ARC REVIEW* This is my first Frankie Majesty book and I will say this author will be in rotation for me. We meet Malibu and Tyrese as they navigate on how to co-parent their young son. Malibu is a social media influencer and singer and has a scandal that comes out about her second child’s father. Tyrese being the man he is comes in to help her and that where our story truly begins.
I truly did love the chemistry between these characters and they seemed to love each other. I also loved their family dynamic and how every thing they did they thought of the children and what was best for them.
I didn’t see any inconsistencies with the story. The pacing was good overall but towards 65% into the book to me it started to slow down a bit but it was able to draw me back in after a few pages. The pictures of social media post and stories added a nice touch of these characters being real with their careers.
Overall I did enjoy this book and I want to thank the author for this advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are of my own based on my own reading experience.
I’m so conflicted on this book… like I liked it but I didn’t. I wasn’t in love with their communication… I feel like although they talked and told each other how they felt but I feel like when shit really started to get deep the FMC pulled back. And we were at like the 70%+ mark and the FMC was still talking about how she didn’t trust the MMC and I’m like girl when is this trust going to happen then. It’s like they were walking on eggshells around each other. They weren’t sure about something. Also I hate how we skipped over her thinking he cheated on her and why are we still taking care of her family??? Like girl what… I guess. Idk I just didn’t feel the chemistry between them. But I loved the writing, I liked the storyline. Idkkk again I really don’t know what to feel cause I didn’t love it but I def didn’t hate it.
This Time, Forever by Frankie Majesty ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶
Wow just wow. I absolutely loved this book. It was everything it promised to be. It was messy, soap opera, delicious drama of salacious daytime TV. I am a person who loves watching dramatic TV shows and this was giving that. I absolutely loved all the elements that helped make this feel less like a book and almost like a biography or blog. The added pictures of "posts", "stories" and "news articles" helped really immerse you into the story. As someone who is AuDHD I absolutely love the neurodivergent representation in this book. Malibu our fmc is described as being neurodivergent although it does not specify whether she's autistic, has adhd, Audhd or another form of neurodivergency. Personally I feel like shes autistic/Audhd but thats just my personal opinion. You then have Tyrese our mmc who has adhd and is takes meds every morning to help clear his head. The representation of neurodivergence, taking meds and going to therapy was shown in such positive way I absolutely loved it. This was a second chance romance that really showed that sometimes you are perfect for each other but you have to do some growing and healing apart before things can really work out. NO I'M NOT TELLING YOU HE HAS CHANGED AND TO GO BACK TO YOUR EX OK. Lol jk 🤣. This also showed amazing co-parenting but also blending a family. Tyrese was hurt of course when he first found out Malibu was having a baby with her new boyfriend Jayleen but for the sake of their son Alchemy (yes I know these names are fire) he treated Dream with kindness and love. I also love how he stepped up to be Daddy for Dream and loved her like she was his full blooded daughter. I will admit there were times where Malibu annoyed me soo much coming off hot and cold, wanting Tyrese not really wanting him. There was a lot of conflicting moments with her feelings around Tyrese. But I do think that was because Malibu didn't know what to do herself. She was so afraid of messing up and having her life fall apart that she was scared to trust him with her heart and life. Tyrese was so patient with her and was willing to wait and take things slowly to show her how serious he was. The communication between Tyrese and Malibu was gold. The always talked about what was going on how they were feeling and even about the past. They did have times when things were taken the wrong way or said the wrong way and feelings got hurt but they always talked through it. This book also showed how to be there for your neurodivergent partner and how to help them or notice the warning signs that they were becoming overstimulated/about to spiral. I almost forgot but the book also showed cased Tyrese being demisexual meaning he needed to have an emotional/intellectual connection with someone to be attracted to them. Over all I absolutely loved this book and will be reading any other by Frankie Majesty I can get my hands on.
This was such a fun and messy read. Lol, this is my second read by this author. The first one was a novella that left me wanting more, so I was excited to get a full-length novel from her. If you love second chances, romances with a MMC who don’t play about his love interest, then you will love this. Tyrese is book bae. Our FMC, Malibu, is a singer/social media influencer (think Queen Naja) who is a mom of two and is cheated on by her fiancé, Jaylen, who is also an influencer. Additionally, her mom and sister mooch off her, so she moves in with her ex-husband and father to her oldest child, Tyrese. Tyrese is an ex-con, business owner, influencer, and music producer who has never gotten over his ex. He uses her moving in with him to win his family back. While Malibu’s family is toxic , she has a support cast of girlfriends who show up for her. Tyrese has supportive parents and friends, which balances this story out. This was an immersive read with texts, IG blog posts, pictures, chat commentary, even news articles incorporated into the story. It truly elevated the story, in my opinion. While reading this, I felt I was experiencing one of my favorite social media influencers when their drama is public for the world to see. The book has plenty of spice, and the chapters aren’t long at all. While this is a great book, I think that some things could’ve been more fleshed out. We jump right into action as soon as the book starts. I feel like a prologue was needed to explain/show how they got together in the first place and how they fell apart. Tyrese was always clear he wanted his family back, but Malibu is more apprehensive. It’s not just because of her other situation or the PR of everything, but it’s because she’s been hurt before by him and doesn’t fully trust him. But it wasn’t the clearest of what happened and why. I think maybe 75% it’s casually mentioned that she thought he cheated on her, and that wasn’t the case, but we don’t know what made her feel that way. Just that he worked a lot. Also, while this does flow smoothly, it still does jump from scene to scene. I wish there were scenes bridging those. I would definitely be reading more from this author, and overall I love this read. It was very on trend with the pop culture references, and I could truly envision all the mess and chaos.
Messy celebrity drama and a tender second-chance romance blend beautifully in This Time, Forever by Frankie Majesty. Malibu Washington is a well-known influencer and R&B singer juggling a demanding career, motherhood, and a fragile engagement to Jalen, an influencer who brands himself a “high-value man.” When their engagement implodes across social media and celebrity blogs, Malibu turns to her ex-husband and first love, Tyrese, a notable music producer, for help. Tyrese has never stopped loving Malibu, and as they reconnect, he hopes they can rebuild their relationship.
What I loved most is how Frankie Majesty balances the absurdity of celebrity culture with a swoony love story. As Malibu and Tyrese navigate public scrutiny, family responsibilities, and lingering hurt, their affection for each other is undeniable and easy to root for. I also loved how the story centers their neurodiversity as an essential part of who they are, something to be honored and respected in every aspect of their relationship, including the steamy moments. Their journey of relearning each other, amidst the outside drama that surrounds them, after time apart, is handled with care. The epistolary elements, social media posts and blog commentary, add texture and pull you deeper into the chaos and spectacle of their world.
🎧 Audiobook Commentary: Narrated by Ruthie Bowles and Daryl Mayfield, the audio edition sweeps you into Malibu and Tyrese’s high-drama orbit and then settles you into the quiet safety they find with each other. Both narrators fully inhabit their characters’ emotions and perspectives. I especially enjoyed experiencing this story in audio while also seeing the epistolary moments woven into the narrative.
✨ If you love celebrity chaos and heartfelt reunions, This Time, Forever should be on your reading list.
Star Rating: 4.5 (Rounded up due to limitations on this platform)
Rating: 4.25 The perfect second chance romance they literally worked to build a new foundation not only for themselves but there children i loved seeing how he communicates better cater to her and the children needs and understand her when it comes to her being upset bc she doesn’t understand how to handle her emotions sometimes i love that they seek therapy both solely but also as a family to grow i love that he kept the photos, wedding dress, and rings from there first marriage I loved how patient this man was when it came to forgiving him I loved how he communicated what he did in the best and proved to her not in words but actions he’s a better man not just for her but there kids I loved this book did it have its faults yes but I don’t care this is the perfect romance for people like be who loves a contemporary romance where they build up on each other and have that mundane life of kids and marriage with a sprinkle of social media plugged in bc they are famous “influencers” and I put that lightly bc there more than influencers he’s a businessman and she’s an music artist/ business women as well they do social media to keep people engaged with them also omg I loved when social media was catching them being together and everyone loving them rekindle there love also love when her daughter calls him daddy and he got her name there sons and her birthday dated on him I also loved the family vacation they had, I loved the marriage proposal, I loved that she’s having twins I truly loved sooo much about this book I could reread it over and over again and never be dissatisfied
I really liked this story overall. The plot kept me reading and the main female character had a lot of depth. She was written in a way that made me care about her, but I also found myself yelling at her to move faster or react stronger in certain moments. I know people freeze when they panic, but sometimes her reactions just didn’t match the weight of the situation.
⚠️ Spoiler Alert When her boyfriend did her dirty, she kind of just… went with it. And then there was no real resolution to him stealing from her. That’s a felony, and it felt strange that he wasn’t facing jail time or at least some real consequences.
Outside of that, another thing that pulled me out of the book was the writing itself. There were times it felt like sections had been run through ChatGPT or a similar AI tool. I use AI often enough that I can spot when words have that extra polish that doesn’t quite feel natural. It was disappointing, because Frankie’s story was strong enough to stand on its own.
Even with those critiques, I want to give credit where it’s due. The plot was engaging, the pacing mostly worked, and the main character carried a lot of heart. As a Black woman, I’m always excited to support another Black woman putting stories out into the world, and this one definitely had potential. For me, it lands at three stars: a good story with strong bones, but I wish the writing had trusted itself more and followed through on some of the bigger conflicts.
This book had so many great qualities and elements to it, but for some reason I just couldn’t get into it like I wanted to. I feel like there was no real tension or conflict within the story and the entire time I just kept wondering “soooo are they back together officially or…?” Simply because of the FMC. The book started off strong! And I really thought that we would get a clearer picture of what tore Malibu and Tyrese apart, but instead it was just a sentence here and there that alluded to what happened but no real conversation or breakdown was had. It was just Tyrese promising that he would do better this time around.
As much as I liked Malibu, I found her character a little difficult to connect with because we never got to see what she truly feeling about everything that happened in her life (and so much happened in a short timeframe). Like, how did she feel about everything Jaylen did? What was the backstory? Why does she keep saying she can’t trust Tyrese? There was so much more I wanted to know about her and for the story to just go a little bit deeper beyond the spicy scenes between her and Tyrese. I wanted an emotional connection and this book just doesn’t give that. But, I like how they were able to healthily co-parent and show up for their kids in a unified way. The story just fell flat and was a little boring to read without any real tension presented in the story.
Frankie Majesty curated a story of love, loss, redemption, second chances, understanding, forgiveness, survival and dramaaaa!
We meet Malibu, a singer turned influencer, carrying the load of too many hats: entrepreneur, influencer, artist, mom, chef, nanny, assistant, fiancée. All while being sexually unfulfilled and constantly stressed. Enter Jaylen, streamer + content creator and Malibu’s inadequate & unequal partner and father to baby girl Dream. Tyrese, Malibu’s ex husband and father to oldest Alchemy, is also an influencer with booming businesses in music, film and the spirits industries.
Cue: cheating fiancé, backstabbing friends, vengeful employees, leaching family members and uncovered secrets that blow up Malibu’s entire world.
Tyrese and Malibu find their way back to love in an intense slow burn full of yearning, angst, classic “Will they, won’t they” and explosive 🧨 sex that keeps you enthralled page by page!
Their story of second chance love and redemption (amidst the drama of having aspects of their personal lives play out in almost real time) is messy but beautiful 💋.
This book was giving soap opera messy in the best way. A second chance romance that had me hooked from the start. I really loved Malibu and Tyrese’s relationship. Their co-parenting was top tier. I thought those social media posts were fun and realistic, especially since they’re influencers. And added to the immersion of the book.
You could really feel the toll the public had on their relationship all that pressure, the opinions, and having their love life play out for everyone to see. It added an extra layer of drama that made everything feel even more real.
It’s definitely a slow burn, but I loved the journey of Malibu learning to trust Tyrese again while he fought hard to win her back. I also appreciated seeing both of them being neurodivergent and how that shaped the way they communicated and handled things differently.
And baby Dream!!! The true star of the show. That little girl had me cracking up! I loved Alchemy too! Both of them were amazing kids.
And that little beat down with her ex Jaylen wasn’t enough, lol. I wanted more because he got off too easy for me. Hell so do her momma and sister. Lol Overall, this was a really good read and spicy too!
I have been patiently waiting for this book and it did not disappoint at all!! We had spice, we had mess, and we had real life problems!
Frankie Majesty gives us a good old slow-burn, second chance romance book that's filled with just the perfect amount of trinkets to make this story engaging. From the media posts to the screenshots to the excerpts from blogs, Miss mam did not miss when it came to grabbing her audience attention.
Our love story focuses on Malibu and Tyrese Washington and their two little ones. Malibu is learning how to trust, rebuild and be okay with not being okay after her scandalous baby daddy Jaylen shows her his natural true colors. From the beginning, Tyrese is very clear on what he wants and drops not so subtle hints that he's the man for Malibu and always has been. With no hesitation, he comes in and provides but also doesn't shy away nor pressure Malibu to be healed. Instead he waits patiently and provides options. He's a good man Savannah!!
If you're looking for the absolute most green flag of a man, read no further than this one. Tyrese was absolutely everything and I will hear absolutely nothing bad about him. While it might seem like it doesn't make sense why Malibu takes so long to truly trust Tyrese (because their past seems like it was a mistake that wasn't really a thing), if you look at every part of her life (Jaylin, Camri, her mom, her sister!!), it's truly a wonder she trusts anyone at all. But eventually, she does, because Tyrese is her forever love. It's a true second chance romance when the two need to be together.
This book is messy, but in that, I cant wait to read what's happening next way. Their chemistry is off the charts and I was unable to look away. Majesty is definitely going to be an instant buy from me from here on out.
While this book was cool and I say cool because it had the makings of a good story with great opportunities to explore a few interesting topics (namely ADHD and what I'm assuming was Autism, etc) it all felt surface level, I was only able to inferr autism because stimming was mentioned once, not named. It also read like the second book to a series. I understand the characters were married before and divorced so they have a whole story before this but this book didn't develop these characters at all for the reader. It's like the reader is expected to know these characters, their story and this is the continuation. P.S. Read the prequel, it was also okay. It gave a bit of the back story but not enough to justify the lack of development in this book.

As much as I enjoyed this book, I just felt like something was missing like I could put two and two together about why their divorced the first time but I felt like there wasn’t just a very clear explanation. However, I do love the main characters and the whole family dynamic. I do feel the love between the two characters, but I don’t know. I just wanted a little bit more maybe more romance maybe less focus on the outside noise. I know this was like a content creator relationship, but I wish some of the moments we had as readers were outside of the Internet view, and maybe just the more intimate deeper details of dates and why she finally fully forgave him for the past.
✨ARC Review✨ Thank you so much Franky Majest for the opportunity to read the arc of this book!
4.5 stars. What a great second chance romance!! Malibu and Tyrese were so sweet together, I really appreciated how they both did the work to make sure their relationship survived the second time around. Loved the neurodivergent rep with Malibu and the realities of ADHD and taking meds/attending therapy as well! Could definitely relate to aspects of both characters with that. Now, Jaylen and Camri didn’t get nearly enough lashing for me, nor did her mom and sister. All of them deserve the WORST in life. Overall a great book, the spice was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ HOT 🔥 and the story kept my attention.
OMG this was a very entertaining book. Second chance romance is definitely one of my favorites. This was done very well. I love the fast paced. I love the chemistry between Malibu and Tyrese!
I was definitely mad and ready to fight in the beginning. That scum bag baby daddy Jaylen was horrible. He definitely didn’t deserve her or to be Dream dad at all. Thank goodness for Tyrese for stepping up when it was needed the most. I love his personality and attitude about everything. He applied that pressure and I loved it!
The spice was spicyyyyy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Dream was absolutely doll. She’s so cute! 🥰
Thank you Frankie for sending me this arc. I definitely highly recommend this book!
If you’re looking for a messy, steamy second-chance romance, babe you’re in the RIGHT place! 🥰🤭 Malibu & Tyrese were the definition of a second chance. The stars aligned and how could they say no? Tyrese is trying to do better this time around & Malibu is working through her insecurities. Alchemy & Dream are along for the ride. (SN: Dream was theee SWEETEST lil side character 🥺)
I loveddd this book because it was realistic. Second chances arent always planned, sometimes they just fall in your lap. Tyrese is def in the running for Stepdaddy of the YEAR 🏆 he showed up for baby Dream without hesitation.. chef’s kiss!
I gave more like 3.5 stars. Let’s start with the positive. The storyline is great and I love a second chance romance. Malibu has hit rock bottom due to a cheating and lying “finance.” When she has no where else to turn enters Tyrese, her ex husband/co-parent to prove that he wants his family back.
Now the reason for the stars. The book could have been shorter. Especially since there wasn’t much character development in Malibu. She started as a pushover and ended the book as a pushover. Tyrese is really the reason for the stars. He came back hard and was letting up. He wanted his family back and did the work to get it back.
Thank you to the author Frankie Majesty for sending me the arc of this book. This is the first book I’ve read by her and I am excited to read more after this!
I love a second chance romance that is done right and this one was done perfectly. Tyreses was a great MMC and I love how he put the work in to win Malibu back!
Malibu was a good FMC as well. I will say her only downfall is doing to much for people who wouldn’t do the same for her! I loved how she mad Tyrese work for it to get her back!
I also enjoyed how they put the kids needs first and how Tyrese loved Dream like she was his own child. He never made a difference between her and Alchemy and I loved that and the fact that they went to therapy to make sure the kids were good!
This was such a great read and be sure to check it out when it releases!
Honestly - this is my first read from the offer and I may check out more. I guess it’s different from a normal drug dealer troop. However idk the content creator aspect was a bit much. Also for Malibu to be a singer it didn’t seem like music was ever the focus. I enjoyed Tyrese and Malibu relationship mostly but idk there was something missing. And the whole Jaylen saga. Like girl how you even end up with him? So again it was decent. A bit long winded I enjoy a good long read but I need a bit more action.
Perhaps one of my favorite parts in this book was “we had to grow separately to grow together” (paraphrased). What I love about this book is the underlying message of love for family and the accessibility and realism of the characters. We get to see the struggles of two neurodivergent characters and the work they have to do to be whole for themselves first, family second, and each other third. I appreciate the journey and Majesty’s vulnerability in telling the story of the Washington’s. It is never too late to pivot and return.
This was the first book that I've read by this author and overall, this was a good read. Definitely got invested in Malibu & Tyrese's story and don't get me started on the supporting characters in Malibu's life. I wanted to fight them 🤣. I also loved the social media additions to tell the story.
I do think it would have been nice to have more of a back story on some items and the reunion with Jaylen could have had more action.
This wasn’t terrible but it just felt dragged out and incomplete. I don’t feel like we got any closure on anything that happened throughout this story which is confusing considering how long it is.
Some of the interactions between the couple was just awkward. I found myself confused on what I should be feeling when a lot of the time.
This story had what was needed to be good but it just wasn’t.
This book has mixed reviews. It was extremely repetitive with the whole waking the kids up for school and filming content. Both characters stayed in their head about they're situation. I love how Tyrese was very reassuring and made sure not to overwhelm her. I almost didn't finish this book but I was determined to find out how the ended. I loved the ending, it just sucks it took forever to get there.
A sweet 2nd chance romance, I love how the author allowed Jaylen to self-destruct on his own. The 2nd chance romance unfolds so organically but as we know there always has to be some bumps along the way. Malibu is unsure of Tyrese’s motives at first but she doesn't block him. I am so love how the two came together and built a legacy for their family, It also helped that there was just enough spice. Overall I enjoyed the unfolding of the love story.
