Last week, with me as the intern on duty, we had this trauma patient in the ER who had suffered a fall. He was not totally conscious. The ER resident had seen an opacity behind the heart shadow in the CXR and had ordered a CT. When I got to the patient everyone was discussing the images to identify the "lobulated mass" in the lower lobe of left lung. Having read the fourth chapter of this book, I knew at first sight, that it was collapse of the lower lobe of the left lung. At first nobody paid me much attention. It was not after doing a bedside lung ultrasonography (seeing air-bronchograms) that they got to accept it as atelectasis. It was due to aspiration.

All this, I said to emphasize how much of a help this book can be to medical students, medical interns and health care amateurs like me to be able to make a good primary diagnosis. The book is really short and can be pretty informative. It comes with pictures and a list of differential etiologies.

fine book for the medical students , but if it had more pictures for every condition , that would made it much better .

anyway it's a good companion to slides provided by any radiology course teachers .

for advanced knowledge stage , for example when the one is internal medicine doctor or ER doctor another source is needed of course , which would have more information on the approach to the chest xray film .

Comprehensive guide for chest X-rays, however the text is sometimes to confusing and pointing to the things, which are not useful for clinical practice. There should be more X-rays examples those which are picked are typical but some more would do good. However cheap book with content sufficient for introduction to the problem. Good to buy for med students or very lazy clinician. I would grab something little bit deeper in subject.

very interesting book for the beginner & radiologist , it gives u the basic knowledge for reading chest x -ray & a good scheme for this .
but still u need to read more books to get better knowledge if u want to be a good radiologist

This book provides a basic introduction to chest rays. While it is sufficient for clinical medical students or foundation doctors, I do not think that it contains sufficient information for a radiology resident or specialist registrar.

While the "Made Easy" series aims at making it easier to get into a subject, this book feels like it was made to make you hate it.

The pictures are lacking, the work seems rushed, & it skips major points.
This doesn't forgive the details mentioned in explaining the x-rays.
Expected better.

Didn’t meet my expectations.
Yes it has pictures but the explanation is not clear enough.
I won’t recommend it for students..
However, I loved the size of the book.
