Wilde Hearts is the fourth book in the Love is a Cowboy series. While each book can be read as a stand alone, I highly suggest reading them in order for a better reading experience.

Ensley

Ten years ago, my world shattered when I lost not only my best friend, but the man I loved. Colt’s brother was my best friend, and his death took two people from my life in a single moment. One I lost to tragedy, and one I lost to grief.

I waited for Colt to come home and grieve with the rest of us after his brother’s death, but after the first year passed, it became painfully clear he wasn’t coming back to River Falls.

I did what I had to do to keep moving forward. I pushed every thought of Colt out of my mind. If only my heart had known how to loosen its grip on him. Instead, I poured myself into building a career as a farrier, supported my family’s ranch, and watched one sibling after another find their happily ever after while I stood still, holding on to someone who wasn’t there.

Eventually, I realized that if I was ever going to find my own happiness, I had to stop waiting for it. I had to take control of my future.

And just when I finally believed I had everything figured out, Colt returned to River Falls, and my carefully built life fell apart all over again.

Colt

After ten years away, I’m back in River Falls, not entirely sure where I fit anymore.

I left after my brother took his own life, drowning in guilt and convinced I was responsible. I couldn’t face my family. I couldn’t face Ensley. So, I ran and stayed gone far longer than I ever intended.

I told myself time would make it easier. It didn’t.

The moment I see Ensley Wilde sitting in a chair beside my father’s hospital bed, everything I buried comes rushing back. Including the guilt I’ve never managed to outrun.

For years, we’ve all carried our own version of what happened to Grady, and the guilt that came with each version. But when the truth finally comes to light, will it be enough to heal what’s broken between us, or will it destroy what’s left entirely?

Can I earn my parents’ trust again?

And more importantly… is there still a chance to win back Ensley Wilde’s heart, and the life I left behind? Can I finally give her the future she’s always dreamed of?

I have absolutely loved this series, but this one stole my heart and quickly became my favorite. This story is so beautifully heartbreaking and just full of emotion!!

Ensley Wilde! I am obsessed with her! She is just the most lovable FMC, going through struggles & dealing with grief & loss. After 10 years her ex, Colt is back in town & ready to explain himself. Both of these characters are going through an unimaginable loss & handling it their own way. This follows their struggles, their love for each other, and all the emotions that goes into what they have even though together & apart.

This is a beautiful & emotion filled second chance cowboy romance that will have you swooning, tearing up, and falling head over heels for these two!! I cried multiple times in this book, but also giggled & laughed along side these characters too! This also has the best family & friend group added in that brings so much to this story! I am so happy to see all my faves in this one & just love them all so much!

This one definitely covers some super heavy topics, so check your triggers, but when I say you need this book on your TBR! Add it now!!

Thank you Kelly & Team for this early copy!!

Kelly has done it again! We're back in River Falls, and this time we finally get Ensley and Colt's story. From the little glimpses we'd gotten of them in the previous books, I KNEW this one was going to hurt but I was still not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster.

Seriously, what's worse than losing your best friend? Losing your best friend without ever getting the answers you need then losing your first love while you're still trying to figure out how to live with that grief. This book is so much more than a second chance romance. Its a reminder that every one deals with grief differently. This is about healing, forgiveness, and finding joy in life again. My heart absolutely broke for Ensley, but it also hurt so much for Colt and all the guilt he'd been carrying.

But one of my favorite things was seeing the whole Wilde family show up for them. They surrounded Ensley and Colt in so much love and support, and I loved getting to watch them not only find their way back to each other but also start healing from everything they'd been through. Each and every family moments just warmed my heart!

It you've been waiting to get back to River Falls, this is your sign!! Add Wilde Hearts to your TBR now! Releases 8.18

✨ ARC Review ✨
Kelly Elliott has done it again! Wilde Hearts, the next installment in the Wilde series, completely pulled me in from the very first chapter.

This time, we follow Ensley and Colt, whose story begins with young love. But as life often does, it takes them down separate paths, proving that sometimes love doesn't work out the first time around.

This book felt different from the others in the series, and I loved every minute of it. It's an emotional journey filled with heartbreak, forgiveness, trust, healing, tragedy, and ultimately, hope. Be sure to check the trigger warnings, as it tackles some heavy topics, but Kelly Elliott handles them with such care and grace that every emotion felt authentic. My heart was aching right alongside these characters.

One of my favorite things about this series continues to be the incredible family dynamics. The Wilde family shows up for one another through every triumph and every heartbreak, reminding us that family is about unconditional love, unwavering support, and always having someone in your corner.

At its core, Wilde Hearts is a beautiful story about letting go of the past, healing old wounds, and discovering that sometimes life leads you exactly where you're meant to be.

Wilde Hearts releases August 18, and if you're a fan of emotional small-town romances with unforgettable characters and second chances, you'll definitely want to add this one to your TBR.

Honoured to get an ARC from the author - been able to get a chance to read the entire Love is a Cowboy series ahead of release and this one, 4th in the series, was beautifully written and complimented the others wonderfully.
The author touches on a heavy topic but in a very respectful manner. You get a glimpse of the past but it comes together in a way that if you love second chance tropes, this is done just right.
I think the main characters, Ensley and Colt, understandably had too much time of not communicating that I wasn’t sure I was rooting for them in the beginning. That being said, the beauty of second chances is you gotta work hard to make it work.
This is an automatic one click author for me - give this series a read to escape reality for a bit!
Shout out to the chapters they were in Banff - I think the author’s descriptions of a beautiful place sucked me in the most!

Who does not love a cowboy love story? I absolutely loved Wilde Hearts by Kelly Elliott, the third book in her Love is a Cowboy series! Kelly Elliott has done it again! Wilde Hearts is an incredible small-town second chance/surprise baby love story, which filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions. I was hooked from the first page, and it was impossible to put it down. I loved every moment on every page of this page turner. It is my FAVORITE book that I have read recently. Kelly Elliott continues to deliver incredibly written love stories that I LOVE to read, and she continues to be a must-read author for me. I love this incredible second chance love story, the River Falls, Colorado, and the amazing characters, they feel like family! Wilde Hearts is a second chance love story between Ensley Wilde, farrier, owner of Wilde Gait Keeper and her first love Colt Owens, farrier and ranch foreman in Banff, Canada. Colt and Ensley were teenage lovers. Colt left River Falls following the death of his younger brother, Grady and the guilt he feels regarding his death. Colt has not been home in ten years. He has travelled to the world, to places on Grady’s bucket list, finally ending up in Banff, Canada a place that Ensley had recommended to Grady. Neither Ensley or Colt have moved on from each other and are still in love with one another. Ensley is angry with Colt that he left without saying goodbye, leaving her a note with a promise, and staying away for ten years. The most heartbreaking quote is when Ensley tells Lilibeth that she lost her best friend only days before she lost the love of her life. Colt’s father, Jacob has a heart attack prompting Colt to return home. They finally see one another at Jacob’s hospital bedside. Ensley just wants to know why Colt left, but Colt is not yet willing to tell her why. Colt starts using the nickname “Pippa” that he created for Ensley, I love the meaning behind the nickname, and Ensley tells him not to use it. They eventually both get stuck in an elevator together, which does not change things. Conversation between Colt and Ensley flows so easily, I love the chemistry between them and the easy banter and flirting, and everything that they do together. On Colt’s return to River Falls, things begin to change between them, as their relationship changes even though is fighting her feelings for Colt. They decide to go on a second first day. I love the rules that Ensley sets for that date. As Ensley and Colt spend more time together with Ensley discovering the former foreman stole money from Jacob’s ranch, things continue to change between them. One of my favorite parts is that Colt still wears the bracelet that Ensley gave him shortly after they started dating, what a bittersweet moment when Ensley notices it. I love the heart-to-heart conversation that take place in Wilde Hearts, especially when Ensley reveals she wants to start a family on her own using IVF, Colt reveals the reason he left River Falls, it is truly heartbreaking, and the conversations between Ensley and her mother, Vivianne. You might need to have your Kleenex nearby. While working together to clean out Grady’s childhood bedroom, Ensley discovers the journal that Grady had hinted about to her and Colt. They learn the reason why Grady took his own life; it is truly heartbreaking. Make sure you have your Kleenex nearby. This discovery strengthens their relationship. My favorite part is their second first date and that Colt takes Ensley to Banff, to show her where he lived and how she changes her rules. I love the Stevie Nicks quote that Vivianne shared with Ensley and Emeline: “I am here because all my plans failed. Don’t be afraid to do something unconventional.” This quote described their relationship perfectly. Another favorite part is Colt’s proposal to Ensley, the location, the description of the engagement ring, and how he disclosed that he would sing her favorite song every night as he lay in bed. I love the ending of Ensley and Colt’s love story, and all the changes that take place so that they can have a life together, to leave the past in the past. I love the changes that they are each willing to make to have a life with one another. I love all the surprises that are revealed at the ending of Ensley and Colt’s love story. My favorite part of Wilde Hearts is the epilogue that Ensley tells her mother, the names that she and Colt have chosen for their baby, the epilogue was the perfect ending of their love story. Wilde Hearts was an amazing small-town second chance/surprise baby love story; I am so glad that Ensley and Colt got their happily ever after. Kelly Elliott definitely does not disappoint her readers with all the feels in Wilde Hearts and has once again delivered an amazing story filled with everything that I have come to love about and expect from her books. Who does not love hot sexy cowboys, strong, passionate females, big loving families, and caring friends, who always support each other? I love how Kelly develops her characters in such a way that you fall in love with them and care about them much like a good friend and how she always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy cowboy. Kelly Elliott continues to deliver all that and so much more. I love the storyline of Wilde Hearts, the romance, and the family dynamics, it was such an enjoyable book to read. Another favorite part of her book is how she incorporates the picture on the cover and the title of the book into the love story. I am not sure how she continues writing my favorite books that I love to read. I love that Kelly chooses dialogue that stays true to her characters. Wilde Hearts is filled with all the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments, plot twists, and surprises that I have come to love and expect in a Kelly Elliott love story as well as moments that make me laugh, especially Levi wanting to pinky swear with Colt. Kelly Elliott continues to prove that she is an incredible storyteller. I love that she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. I love all the characters in Wilde Hearts. They feel like family and friends. I LOVE the Wilde family and their extended family, especially Vivianne and Ladd, all the interactions between the Ensley and her siblings, Caden, Emeline, and Gatlin and the family dynamic, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love Ensley’s friendship with Emeline and meeting Nellie and Jackson. I love the descriptions of River Falls. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I loved every moment. I cannot wait to see what Kelly Elliott has planned for Gatlin. Highly recommend this beautifully written love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.

There are some authors who write romance, and then there are authors like Kelly Elliott, who make you feel every single emotion alongside their characters. From the very first book in the Love is a Cowboy series, I had a feeling this was going to be one of those series that completely captured my heart, pulling on every emotion like the most beautiful country love song. Four books in, and I can honestly say I wasn't wrong.

As soon as I opened Wilde Hearts, I just knew Colt and Ensley's story was going to leave its mark on my heart... and yes, I kept those tissues close by because I had a feeling I was going to need them.

This is so much more than a second-chance romance. It's a beautifully emotional journey of love, heartbreak, forgiveness, healing and finding your way back to the person who has always owned your heart.

Ten years ago, Ensley lost everything. Not only did she lose her best friend when Colt's brother tragically died, but she also lost the love of her life. Colt walked away from the only life he'd ever known, leaving behind nothing but a note and a broken-hearted girl who never truly understood why.

Now he's home.

The hurt hasn't faded. The betrayal still runs deep. Yet beneath all the anger is a love that never really disappeared.

Because their families and friends are so closely connected, avoiding each other simply isn't an option. As Colt and Ensley are continually thrown together, years of buried grief, guilt, regret and unanswered questions slowly begin to surface. Watching these two navigate their way through so much pain towards forgiveness is both heartbreaking and incredibly beautiful.

Kelly Elliott has such a special gift for creating characters who feel like real people. You don't just read their story—you live every emotional moment with them. I found myself smiling, crying, hoping and hurting right alongside Colt and Ensley. Their chemistry has never disappeared, but it's the emotional connection between them that completely stole my heart.

One of my favourite things about this series is how family sits at the very centre of every story. The love, loyalty and unwavering support surrounding these characters make Ashford feel like somewhere you'd want to call home yourself. Every returning character simply adds another layer to a story that is already overflowing with heart.

Wilde Hearts is a stunning reminder that sometimes love isn't about finding someone new—it's about finding the strength to heal, forgive and rediscover the love that never truly left.

Kelly Elliott has once again delivered a romance full of heart and soul. Emotional, beautifully written and completely unforgettable, this is another wonderful addition to a series that just keeps getting better.

Although this book deals with a very sensitive subject, Kelly Elliott writes so beautifully that you feel everything and tissues are definitely needed, but you are left feeling hopeful.
I loved, loved, loved this book. Ensley Wilde has been trying to get over the fact that the love of her life left her after his brother's, her best friend's, funeral- no goodbye, only a note asking her to remember he loves her.
A decade later, Ensley is wondering why she is alone, when all around her are finding love and becoming families with new babies, children from previous marriages and orphans. Loving them but jealous, she tries to reinstate a previous relationship.
Doug who she had previously dated, was everything that any woman would want, and they meet again for a date. Unfortunately, it's cut short when the mother of the love of her life calls to say her husband has had a heart attack.
As they are like second parents to her, she's a farrier like the husband, so she immediately leaves for the hospital.
Colt, their eldest son, who left them all ten years ago, turns up at the hospital to say he is returning to River Falls for good. Doug comes to visit, and Colt has an angry confrontation with him.
The tension could be cut with a knife between them; Ensley cannot forgive him for leaving and won't allow him to explain why he left.
As Colt tries to come to terms with the consequences of his desertion for Ensley, his parents and the whole small town. The guilt surrounds all who knew Grady, Colt's younger brother.
When Ensley finds that funds of Colt's parents have been stripped by a farm hand that had been brought in to help out on his parents' farm. Colt steps in and returns the funds, setting in motion the search for the thief.
Eventually, encouraged by her family, she meets with Colt, where he explains why he left. Be prepared to have a lump in your throat.
Both reveal that no one has ever come close to the love they'd shared, and eventually they help his parents clear out his brother's room, where they find evidence of his brother's past, and the answers are not what they expected. It relieves some of the guilt they all felt.
With the guilt lifted, Colt and Ensley decide to restart their relationship by dating again. Their first date is spectacular, and soon they are back to where they were before he left, and soon they are engaged. A family soon becomes part of their lives.
A great fourth book, and I am looking forward to the fifth book.

Kelly Elliott has done it again... and my heart is still trying to recover. ❤️🐴
Wilde Hearts is a beautifully emotional second-chance romance filled with heartbreak, healing, forgiveness, and the kind of love that never truly lets go.
From the very first chapter, I was completely invested in Colt and Ensley's story. Their history together was heartbreaking, and knowing that ten years of grief, guilt, and unanswered questions stood between them made every interaction feel so meaningful. You could feel the weight they had both been carrying for so long.
Ensley was such an incredible heroine. She was strong, hardworking, and had built a life for herself despite the heartbreak she'd endured. I loved that she never stopped moving forward, even when her heart hadn't fully let go of Colt.
And Colt... my heart absolutely broke for him. Watching him return home carrying years of guilt and regret was incredibly emotional. His journey wasn't easy, but it felt so honest and real. Seeing him face his past, rebuild relationships, and fight for the people he loved had me rooting for him every step of the way.
Kelly Elliott handled the difficult topic of grief and suicide with so much care, compassion, and sensitivity. This wasn't just a romance. It was a story about family, loss, healing, forgiveness, and learning that it's never too late to come home.
The romance was tender, emotional, and beautifully earned. Every glance, every conversation, and every step toward rebuilding their relationship felt authentic. By the time these two finally found their way back to each other, I was smiling through happy tears.
I also loved being back in River Falls. Every visit feels like coming home, and catching up with familiar faces only made this story even more special.
If you love small-town cowboy romances, second chances, emotional healing, strong family bonds, and stories that will completely capture your heart, Wilde Hearts is one you don't want to miss.
Kelly Elliott has once again reminded me why she's one of my favorite authors. This book made me feel everything, and I'll be thinking about Colt and Ensley for a long time to come. 🤍

Kelly!! Brovo all around with this one! The way Kelly has brought such a sensitive heart wrecking thing to light the the way she did was so amazing. This is something no one should ever have to go through in life and feel but it is so much more common in the past 15 years then it ever has been.

* Check your trigger warnings this story it touches on some very sensitive issues that pertain to Sui*ide*

As someone who has dealt with this situation with a very close family member I will have to say that Kelly did an absolute amazing job with something that truly effects so many people all around. She really showcased how not only is it such a heartbreaking thing to have happen to the person as well as losing someone you love, she really shows how much it effects all the people that are connected to and around the person.

This is a very heartwarming story that shows you love always waits and will always stay true no matter how much time or distance is in between. The love between Ensley and Colt was so beauiful and real to watch grow back into something that should have always been, a love that never truly went away. Watching how much growth Colts whole family went through and how much they were all there for each other even though they all blamed themselves for something that they had no control over was heartwarming. The pain may have been there and will still be somewhat present but over time it has become less and less with the community gathered and the love they all have shown one another.

If you or a loved one needs think you may need some support with unnatural thoughts about your life please call 988 and talk to someone today. You are loved no matter what you may think, someone if not all, of the people in your life love you no matter what you think is flawed, if they didn't they wouldn't be in your life still. No matter what you think may be a huge hurtle, medical wise or mental there are people who are here to listen and want to keep showing up for you. You are worthy no matter what you may think.

Come on Kelly!!! You’re just gonna throw all my favourite tropes into one book??!!!!

This series, man. Each book gets better and better. This one though, this one hit different. I have cried more reading this book than i have with any other Kelly Elliot book.

Dealing with grief, suicide, loss and heartbreak, Kelly has reached inside me, found my darkest days, and managed to explain them with sensitivity and heart.

Of course, with the heartache come the flip side, you know life is all about balance and so is a Kelly Elliot book!!
Colt ran away from his grief, and Ensley was left behind for 10 years with no one to help her with the loss of her best friend and the love of her life. But when Colt returns he has to face the wrath of his mother’s words! As a mum, I couldn’t imagine what she had been through herself, so i think this is one of my favourite parts of this book. And yes, I cried like a baby.
“You have no idea how much that girl loved you, do you? You weren’t the only one who was shaken to the core by Grady’s death. She lost both of you, Colt.”……… …….”You are my son, Colt. And I love you. I will always love you. But you have been running from real life for the last ten damn years. While you’ve been gone, the rest of us have had to learn to move on. We couldn’t run and hide.”

This book has had me crying, laughing, crying some more, falling in love, and then being put back together with a pretty little bow at the end.
I hope the baby is a boy!

I cant wait for the next book!

🗣️ Additionally, this book deals with the tragedy of suicide and the aftermath.

Some love stories are about finding the right person. Others are about finding your way back to them. Wilde Hearts is an emotional second-chance romance that explores how grief, guilt, and unanswered questions can shape two lives for years.

Ensley and Colt's story begins with a heartbreaking loss that changes everything. Instead of facing it together, Colt disappears without an explanation, leaving Ensley to pick up the pieces of a shattered future. A decade later, fate brings him back to River Falls, forcing them both to confront the pain they've spent years trying to bury.

What stood out most to me was how much this story focused on healing rather than simply rekindling a romance. Kelly Elliott takes her time rebuilding the trust between Colt and Ensley, allowing every difficult conversation and emotional breakthrough to feel earned. Their journey isn't easy, but that's exactly what makes their reunion so satisfying.

The Wilde family continues to be one of my favorite parts of this series. Returning to River Falls feels like catching up with familiar faces, and the strong family bonds add warmth and comfort to a story that carries some heavy emotional themes. The friendships, family support, and small-town atmosphere balance the heartbreak beautifully.

This book does deal with grief, mental health, and the lasting effects of suicide, and those topics are handled with compassion and sensitivity. They give real depth to the characters' choices and make their growth feel authentic.

By the final chapters, I was completely invested in Colt and Ensley's future. Their story is filled with heartbreak, forgiveness, hope, and the reminder that sometimes love deserves a second chance—even after years apart. If you enjoy emotional cowboy romances with small-town charm, close-knit families, and a deeply satisfying second-chance love story, this is one I would definitely recommend.

I swear Kelly Elliott can do no wrong when she writes about cowboys. I’m usually not much of a fan of second chance because I always get mad that one stupid decision cost them years of unhappiness being apart. And while this definitely falls into that category, Ensley herself said it

“I think that life dealt us the cards it did because we needed them. If you had stayed and asked me to marry you, I would’ve said yes, and we would have gotten married super young. I might not have built up my business as much as I have, and you wouldn’t have experienced so much and built the life you did over the last ten years. … The last ten years have also brought pain, I won’t lie about that. Confusion and a lot of anger. But I’m the type of person who believes that everything happens in life for a reason. We were put on a journey that separated us, but destiny brought us back together. She answered questions we both had, and put some of that pain and guilt to rest.”

My heart broke for Colt and how much pain and guilt he had over losing his brother. And especially because it was so misguided. And I definitely was with Ensley on being so angry with him for not only just leaving but staying away for so long. I can never empathize with him because I don’t have any siblings so I don’t understand that love you have for a sibling or imagine what it would be like to lose them in such a tragic way. But I was so glad he got his head out of his ass and came home and explained everything to everyone. And I was so happy for Ensley letting go of that anger and moving forward with him to the future they always wanted. Sometimes we get so hurt and angry and we hold on to that so we don’t seem weak, but to be able to forgive and let yourself be happy is such a beautiful thing. I hope we get to see more of them in Gatlin’s story because I definitely want more Ensley and Colt. I hope they get to have a huge family with a bunch of kids to keep them busy and full of love.

This is a new-to-me author, but I will absolutely be devouring the rest of the stories in this series.

A beautiful story about two young lovers given a second-chance opportunity at love. Colt, our MMC, has lost his brother and is dealing with his own demons about why this happened and things he could have done to prevent it. His brother's best friend, Ensley (our FMC), is the love of his life. Ensley is such a lovable young lady, looking to move on after Colt left her 10 years ago, but neither one of them can let the other go. In every relationship, they compare the person to the love of their life and they can't move past it.

When Colt moves back home due to a family emergency, they cross paths again and the sparks fly. Ensley is upset; she's frustrated and wants to stay away from Colt... but the invisible string continues to pull them together.

Once Colt is able to let go of his hidden demons, they're able to work through finding their way through a second-chance romance again.

I loved this story because it handled tough topics with care; it felt realistic... who hasn't wanted to run away after something traumatic happened? Especially when we're young. The push and pull between the main characters was strong and you (the reader) are rooting for them the entire time. But also, the full family dynamic. The true meaning behind a small-town romance is being able to immerse yourself into the town with the characters.

My only wish? Just a little more on the epilogue! I'm yearning for more, so I'll patch myself together by enjoying the rest of the series now!

✨ARC REVIEW✨ 5⭐️ Hands down my favorite of the series!! Despite what happened ten years ago, Ensley has been in love with Colt every day since. Running away was the only way Colt could deal with his brother taking his own life. Ensley lost both her best friend and boyfriend in the blink of an eye and nothing has been the same since. She seeing everyone around her falling in love and starting a family. She’s struggling with wanting it all but still being in love with the one man who will always hold her heart. When Colt returns to town after his dad’s heart attack Ensley knows she never will get over him. But he’s back for good and determined to show the only girl he’s ever loved that despite what happened all those years ago he still wants her more than he ever wanted anything in his life. But after all the hurt they’ve both gone through can they find their way back to each other for good this time?

I didn’t want to put this one down! I related so much to a lot of the feelings that Ensley had so this one had me hooked from the start. Colt and Ensley both went through the unthinkable and anyone would have a hard time dealing with their grief after that. Colt had his reasons for leaving but they truly never got over each other. I loved how they found each other again and were able to help each other through some of the healing that still needed to be done. There was so much raw emotion in this one and you felt how much they still cared. I won’t lie and say that this one didn’t put me through it emotionally but I honestly love it so much when I feel such deep feelings in a story and can truly understand what the character was feeling. This one had it all and the ending made all the heartbreak worth it for how happy and giddy I was for them both!!

My heart 😭
I knew Ensley and Colt’s story was going to be a heartbreaking one, but still what these two went through was just heart shattering.
Ensley losing her best friend, Colt losing his little brother, no answers as to why, and than Colt just bolts. Out of grief, regret, and simple heartbreak.
And poor Ensley, she tries to pick up the pieces, move forward, and while she creates a great career for herself as a farrier, her heart still belongs to someone who might as well be a ghost. I understood her feelings. When you give your whole heart to someone, it's nearly impossible to find a piece to give to someone else.

Then we have Colt.
Dealing with his pain that ends up costing so much more. Even more lose. Especially, time.
10 years he's running from his grief.

These two have gone through a lot.
When life gives them a second chance, truthes are revealed that not only shock the characters, but myself as well. 😭

I love the protectiveness of Ensley's brothers, especially Gatlin. But also just the support and love the Wilde family gives. I love this family so freaking much....could they adopt me please? 😅

This was slightly fast paced, I could have read much more of these two, to just get a little more tension and process of forgiving, but I still absolutely loved this story. When your heart knows, it knows. There's no arguing with it.

Also, side note....don't ever tell the Wilde boys a secret. 😆 they can't keep it to themselves to save their life. 🤭

Thank you so much Kelly for having me on your team and this arc. 🫶🏻 my heart both hurt and healed with this one.

So excited for Gatlin's story. 👀

I received an advance reader copy of this book and am delighted to share my honest review.

Ten years ago, Colt left River Falls after the death of his brother, Grady, leaving Ensley behind. And now, not only did Ensley lose Grady, her best friend but she lost Colt, the love of her life. Now, a decade later, Colt returns home after his father suffers a heart attack. Determined to protect her heart, Ensley wants nothing to do with him. Especially because no man has ever made her feel the way Colt did—or even come close.

Colt, however, has no intention of leaving again. Now that he's decided to stay in River Falls, he's determined to explain why he walked away all those years ago, hoping they can finally find a way forward together. But Ensley isn't interested in listening... at least not until she begins to realize that forgiveness may be the only way for both of them to truly heal.

The Wilde family—especially the women we've met throughout the series—are incredibly strong, and Ensley is no exception. It takes a confident, steady man to capture the heart of a Wilde woman, and no one in River Falls has measured up to Colt. After Colt left, Ensley convinced herself that she was better off on her own. Watching her siblings build their families only strengthens her desire to become a mother herself, even if that means pursuing IVF alone. That kind of determination and independence speaks volumes about her strength.

But Colt has always held her heart. With him back in River Falls, can they finally let go of the past, heal old wounds, and find the future they were always meant to have?

Kelly Elliott brings us the next installment in her Love is a Cowboy series with Ensley and Colt. Ten years ago, a terrible tragedy fails to bring them together. When Colt leaves without a word, Ensley and everyone around her are left to pick up the pieces and move on. When Colt returns ten years later, will they be able to finally let go of the past and truly move on? Or will the hurts from the past be too much?

Kelly Elliott brings us back to River Falls, Colorado, River Falls Cattle Ranch, and the Wilde family. We get to visit with everyone from her family and see what her siblings, parents, and grandparents are doing and what has happened since we last left them. I enjoyed seeing them be a part of her story. It is like catching up with old friends and learning what has been going on since our last visit as Colt finds out as well. I liked reading what they were going through and what they hoped for in the future and seeing if that could happen for them. It was nice going on this adventure with them as they try to find each other again and seeing if there is enough love to get back the trust. You keep reading and turning the page to see what happens next until you realize that you are fast approaching the end. This is what Kelly Elliott's books do to you, so I just had to keep reading until I reached the end. I look forward to reading the next chapter in the Wilde family series.

I received and read an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank the author for this privilege.

I am loving the Wilde family so much, and Ensley’s story was one I simply couldn't wait to read.
Kelly has written this book with so much heart and emotion. One of the things I love most about her writing is the way she tackles difficult and emotional subjects with honesty and sensitivity, and she does that beautifully once again in this story.
The love between Ensley and Colt radiates from every page. After being away for ten years, Colt returns home, but Ensley is still carrying the hurt of him leaving during one of the most difficult times in her life. Their journey is emotional, heartfelt, and filled with the difficult conversations and healing that make a second-chance romance so rewarding.
The Wilde family continues to be one of my favourite fictional families. The love and support they surround Ensley with is incredible, from her siblings to Vivi and Ladd, who are truly the best parents. Kelly creates such a strong sense of family that you can't help but wish you were part of it.
I especially loved how Kelly captured Ensley's emotions as she watched others around her receive the one thing she wanted most. Those moments were so beautifully written and deeply relatable. Colt also had a lot to make up for, and I appreciated that he never shied away from the hard conversations or the consequences of his choices.
This story had me completely invested from beginning to end, and now I'm even more excited for Gaitlin's book. Another emotional, unforgettable read from Kelly that I highly recommend.

Wilde Hearts by Kelly Elliot was such an emotional whirlwind and I'm still recovering. It's a beautiful and emotional second chance romance about loss and grief, heartbreak, healing and forgiveness. It's about that kind of love that stays with you and never leaves you. Let's just say that Colt and Ensley's story got me with that first sentence and hold me hostage till the end. And it started with a great heartbreak that lasted too long and kept so many questions unanswered. They both were driven by grief and guilt and were in survival mode apart from each other. When Colt is back Ensley finds it hard to be around him and not be constantly angry at him. And Colt is trying to fix what he broke, he just didn't think that it'll be this hard. When they finally talked it over they both confessed feeling guilty. And it was good that when they finally closed that chapter of their past they found out the truth. And it was so sad when they realized that in their own grief they felt guilty for the wrong reasons. Ensley was so strong and resilient, smart and caring. Colt's journey wasn't an easy one too . He lived with his guilt and regrets for so long. So when he's back he not only has to face his past and fight for the love of his life but to rebuild all his relationships. Loved it when Ensley gave him chance to explain and forgive him and let him redeem himself. And their story this second time was so mature and thoughtful. Loved the family dynamics in the Wilde and the Owens families. Colt and Ensley's happy ending was earned and deserved.

Thanks to the author for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.

Ensley and Colt 🤭🔥 I've been patiently waiting for Ensley's hea and we have it 🥹 What a love story! 😈 Ensley is a strong woman, who knows her worth! Colt is a man that loves to beg and we love it! Thank you so much, Kelly, for this ARC ❤️ This book made me cry, laugh, smirk and fan myself 😌

Ensley Wilde 🔥 I have adored this sassy sunshine since the start of this series. I couldn't stop cackling everytime she bantered with Colt and showed him her feisty, sassy side 😈😏 She made him beg on his knees for a second chance and he earned it 😎 Ensley went through one of the most heartbreaking times, as just a teen 😖 Gosh, I wanted to hug her! She's made all of us so proud! She's strong, brave, talented, successful, beautiful, intelligent, protective, sunshine, shy and bold, feisty and an incredible farrier 😌

Colt Owens 🔥 This is a cowboy that is obsessed with his woman 😌 He knew he messed up, big time, and put in the work to make things right with his woman 🥹 He had me sobbing with how much pain, he was in as well 😖 But he had me cackling, giggling and smirking even more 😈 Hot, talented, rich, successful, an intense golden retriever, dirty mouthed, patient, loving, a gentleman, protective, possessive and obsessed!

This was such a slow burn, but when the spice hit, I was smirking. Because, dayum 🤭😈 They're hawt! The writing is incredible and the storyline! 🔥😩 I can't wait for the next book 😏

Oh Ensley and Colt!!!!! This was an emotional one for sure. From the very first pages my heart broke for both of them. This has been one of my favorite series from Kelly. The lady can write a cowboy romance.
****Trigger Warning: This book does discuss suicide and the impact it has on those left behind****

At 19 years old, Ensley lost not only her best friend Grady to suicide, but the love of her life Colt to the grief of losing his brother. 10 years later, Colt finally comes back home and is faced with all that he left behind. Even through all her anger and hurt, Ensley has never once stopped loving Colt. Avoiding Colt is not really an option since their families are so closely connected. Especially considering Ensley is a farrier like Colt and his father.

Colt has his work cut out for him to make up for lost time and earn Ensley's trust again after all these years. She does not make it easy for him either. I love that family is such a big part of this story and the series as a whole. Colt and Ensley both rely on their parents support a lot throughout the story.

Kelly has such a way of making you feel every single emotion the characters are going through. I was bawling like a baby after reading the scene in the nursery. Wilde Hearts is beautifully written and a perfect reminder that sometimes loving someone means finding the strength to forgive and rediscover the reason you fell in the love in the first place.

Wilde Hearts
Kelly Elliot
5 stars, end of discussion

I was expecting to be emotionally wrecked for Colt and Ensley but I wasn’t I expecting to forget my own name because it felt that much for these two.

Colt Owens is the definition of a broken man when his brother took his own life. How could he not have been? On top of everything his grief decided to convince him he had to leave River Falls and that meant everyone he loved with it. He left his parents, his friends, and his soulmate. No explanation, nothing. He had to leave or everyone he loved would end up hating him anyways.

Ensley Wilde is my favorite FMC in this series. She is honest and real, says what she wants when she wants. She is her siblings biggest fan… & she is such a boss in all areas of her life. Except -when it comes to Colt… she has never gotten over her first real love. Now he’s back after 10 years and what is she supposed to do with that?!

I think the author did a great job with the FMC being able to feel her feelings! Whatever that looked like. A true second chance romance isn’t supposed to be easy to read.. it is about the characters fighting through all the hard, all the tears, everything that makes it worth it when they get a second chance again.

I think you hit this one out of the park!! Thankful to Kelly and her team for his E-ARC!! I love being a temporary Wilde in these stories!!

What an angsty emotional story for Colt and Ensley! From the first page, your heart is twisted into a million pieces. There is a warning that this book discusses suicidal and the impact it has on others. Colt and Ensley are certain,y at the center sending their world down a path they could never fathom.

Ten years later, Colt is back not knowing jf the love of his life has moved on or if she will ever forgive him for leaving the way he did. Ensley is struggling to move forward. Her heart is always stuck in the past and stuck on the love she can never forget.

When Colt comes back into town all these old feelings come rushing back quickly, but so does the hurt. There’s so much hurt where these two are tied together. Ensley finally learns the reason Colt left all those years ago and Ensley soon finds in order to allow her heart to heal and move forward, she must let go of the past. When these two finally decide to move forward, you quickly realize their love is soul deep.

“This journey called life, that you and I have been on, has brought us to this very moment, and this very spot.”

This was a fantastic story with the best second first date one could ever have! This book is filled with sadness, love, friendship, family, forgiveness and future! All the perfect elements of a great weekend read!!

First time reading author Kelly Elliott and when I received this ARC I realized I’d need to play catch up and read the first three books in this series!
Boy was I hooked not even halfway through the first of this series!! Binged all 3 within 6 days and fell more in love with the Wilde family with every read!
Now to get into Wilde Hearts!!! Ensley and Colt.
Tragedy struck this young couple in love and tore them apart but Ensley could never understand why her one true love could disappear on her and his family for ten years!
When an emergency brings Colt back to town, Ensley is still angry and hurt by his departure 10 years prior. She believed Colt should’ve stayed and they get through the death of his brother (and her bff) together.
While Colt’s arrival back in town wasn’t what Ensley expected, it was exactly what she needed to help heal her heart as well as Colt’s and his family.
Startling revelations and honest conversations are what allowed both to realize that time is a fleeting moment as to not waste anymore on the guilt, hurt, and anger of the past.
A beautiful love story years in the making and all the continued love and support from the Wilde family (along with some witty banter from the men!) allowed hearts to heal and realize what matters most and that is being together and the love of family!

Ensley sort of broke my heart. We’ve been waiting for her story, and I promise that it hurts. I mean, it’s all made right in the way that cracks can heal into something even better, but the journey? It hurts. And Colt also managed to make me feel for him. The guilt he’s carried. The regret. The wishing he had done things differently. All of it.

But these two end up finding their way. Sure, they have some bumps and a difficult time talking at first, but when help comes from an unexpected person for both of them, I knew it would end up working out as it should. That person is also the one I’m most intrigued by, so I was so glad to be proven right that there are so many layers to them. This isn’t about that person, though. This is about grief and mourning and loss and healing and finally coming to terms with the way things were, the way they are, and how they could be. And that makes it hurt even more, all while also healing every person left behind to wish and wonder what they’d missed.

I won’t ruin it. But you’ll love the ex who knows it’s not meant to be. You’ll want to smack the person who’s trying to find their way back. And then you’ll want the big Talk to happen faster because it truly does lead to the beginning of the healing. Then you’ll want the last story of this series because I think it might be the best one of the bunch.

-Second Chance
-Cowboy Romance
-Small Town
-High School Sweethearts
-Guarded Hearts
-Trauma from loss

I knew Ensleys book was going to be a wild ride! The history between her and Colt is really tough especially when you mix it with the trauma of the loss they both endured. This book had me crying, laughing, and kicking my feet. I was immediately hooked and had to binge read it as quick as I could.

Following this story throughout all of the books was extremely sad. It was obvious that Ensley never stopped loving Colt. She is so strong, independent but really just wishing her life would have panned out differently. She loves Colt’s family and continues to help his dad with his business even after Colt leaves. After watching her other two siblings get there happily ever after, will it finally be her time ?

Colt obviously carries his brothers death on his shoulders. It’s really sad to watch him struggle most of this book not only wanting answers but blaming himself. Ensley and his family really help him see an outside of the narrow box he has created. Colt deserves his happily ever after but will he allow himself to have it ?

Thank you to the author and agency for allowing me to read this advanced readers copy! This book along with the rest of the series so far is amazing! I can’t wait for the next one !

Wilde Hearts was beautifully written. This was such a phenomenal read. You’ll definitely need tissues at hand. So be ready for tears because you’ll need them. Kelly has a way to have you hooked from the very beginning.

Colt and Ensley have been high school sweethearts and known each other since childhood. When tragedy strikes their whole lives change. After Colt brothers Grady dies he does the only thing he can do and leaves. Not only his family but Ensley as well. Ensley not only did she loose her best friend (Grady) she also looses Colt. Now she must navigate this new phase of life with out both them. Ten years later Colt is back for good. Ensley still has all these unanswered questions. All the hurt is still there and isn’t afraid to tell how Colt how she really feels. You’ll see all the pain, grief, sadness and love. They must work together to see if they can make it work this time around. The love is still strong. So you’ll see how much work they must do to get there happily ever after.

I loved coming back to River Falls seeing all these familiar faces. With each story we learn so much about this amazing family. This story had it all, laughter, crying, sadness, lots of family and love.

Arc was provided for honest review.

Every time I pick up a Kelly Elliott book, I know I’m about to go on an emotional ride, and Wilde Hearts was no exception.

My heart absolutely broke for Ensley. You could feel her heartbreak, her longing, and the dreams she’d quietly held onto for years. Kelly has such a gift for making you feel every emotion right alongside her characters. And Colt…I’ll admit there were moments I wanted to shake some sense into him for running away and leaving so much hurt behind. But as his story unfolded and I understood the weight he had been carrying, my heart broke for him too.

One of my favorite things about Kelly’s books has always been the incredible family dynamics. The love between the siblings, the unwavering support, and the way everyone rallies around one another always makes her worlds feel like home. River Falls, Colorado has become one of those places I never want to leave.

This story tackles incredibly sensitive subjects, and Kelly handled every moment with so much grace, compassion, and care. It was emotional without ever feeling forced, and the healing journey felt genuine and heartfelt.

I laughed, cried more times than I expected, and fell even more in love with the Wilde family. Now the only question is…who in the world is going to tame Gatlin? I cannot wait for the final book!

Kelly Elliott did a good job putting Ensley and Colt’s story together and I’m glad I got this ARC! She did a really good with her descriptions of the scenery regardless of what setting there was. It was easy to picture what was going on and the scenery while reading.

I especially love where this book took place because it mentions Granby, CO a lot and that’s the neighboring town of where my book is taking place so it sort of resonated with me in that way.

There is talk about suicide in this book so if that’s something that triggers you I would maybe pass on this one. If you’re a family member of someone who has taken their own life it might be easier for you to relate to especially if you’re a sibling or parent of that loved one. It was heartbreaking to hear what those that are left behind go through and how hard it is to move on after something like that happens. It’s very respectfully written and hits those hard topics in a light manner.

Colt and Ensley’s story was sad because 10 years of their lives were put off course from each other but their second chance did happen. I do feel like it moved really fast for them the second round once they committed to each other which was confusing because they wanted to take it slow and they did the complete opposite.

I give this one 3 ⭐️’s!
